Matcha milk with strawberry crystal boba

Saw their sign near Cheesecake Factory and wanted to give it a try. Menu was eye catching. They just opened for the day, so no line. I ordered a matcha milk with strawberry crystal Boba. It looked like Christmas in a cup and was very good! Two employees behind the counter were nice but spoke very quietly. Almost shy like so I had to strain a little to hear them. Gave them a Xmas tip in the jar! This will be a place to take my granddaughter next time.

They have really huge bobas, but the quality in taste is not as good as other places I've been too. The boba tasted bad, not soft like most places I've been to. It was chewy, just not the right mouth feel. It was too sweet for my friend, but maybe he wasn't aware of a sugar adjustment he could have made. It's at a food court at the mall so there is a lot of places to sit and enjoy your beverage. I would recommend Teaspoon or Daboba versus this place.

Cute logo, terrible taste. Couldn't even drink 1/3 of it before throwing it away. I got a green thai tea & it tasted like super watered down jasmine tea. The quality if super terrible. Would not recommend

It taste like a cup of ice water with boba in it... come on a weekday lunch it's not busy.

I love boba drinks and I've had them in many places throughout SD. Unfortunately this is the worst one so far. Strawberry smoothie wasn't made with real strawberries and very strong artificial flavor. The brown sugar boba wasn't made very sweet. The syrup sank to the bottom and not mixing well with the tea (not real tea). Their ice cream was good though but they didn't make them in house. I wouldn't come here for boba drinks again.

I was at North County Mall and wanted to grab some dinner at the food court. I saw Tea Monks and couldn't pass up an opportunity to try a new boba spot. I ordered the Zen Thai Milk Tea. It wasn't prepared as quickly as I thought, especially with it being just me another person there but it was fine. Overall the drink was just okay. It wasn't bad but wasn't anything crazy either. Possibly tasted a little watered down. It is nice that there's a boba place at the mall now if you're craving some while shopping. Though I personally would wait to grab some elsewhere.

Looking to hydrate yourself with something sweet in NCM? Tea monks is where it's at. This boba spot offers many options for your bubble tea hydration needs. I usually hang out for my boba teas in central San Diego, I was happy to find this spot when I went shopping at the North County Mall. I was pleasantly surprised to see different flavors I've never heard of before so my friend I tried some of them. We tried the Mango Lychee Milk Tea and the Green Thai Tea! Both of them were absolutely delish. However, I tried my lychee milk tea with the balls and didn't really like them as I thought I would. Boba balls are always best when ordering bubble tea! If you're here reading this review, what are you waiting for? Try it out.

I haven't really try any boba tea cause (1) I was working in FB all the time (2) I just came back from a boba tea country ..... I think I'm lack of information myself about boba tea here ........ the picture catch my eyes and we order these two drinks , they are OK , not any surprises, the boba with my tea was a little overcook , oh the surprise was these two drinks cost me $16 !!!! OMG !!!!

Our drinks came out fast and price is a little high for what it is. Not bad for a mall boba place and they were probably busy. We got strawberry matcha with strawberry jelly, it was only matcha with the jelly basically. Nothing really made it a strawberry matcha drink, maybe they forgot something? Also got a strawberry banana smoothie but definitely not a lot of strawberry, just tastes like a banana smoothie lol. read more

Conveniently located in the Escondido Mall food court. Tons of open seating in the food court and the housekeeper takes good care of the area. Cashier was attentive and took our order immediately. They offer a 33 ounce drink or the regular 24 ounce drink. Of course, we got the larger size because it only costs a little bit more. Larger drink is definitely shareable. Drink was artificially flavored, but taro taste was good. Taro crystals were a beautiful purple color, but didn't seem to taste like taro. Tons of drinks and toppings to choose from. They do have a line of jars with the toppings on the counter so you can see what it looks like. Plenty of free parking in the large lot surrounding the mall. read more

BOBA brings me life & joy! SO HAPPY tea monks USA has moved into the North County Mall! We got their strawberry matcha milk tea & mango lychee lemonade with lychee jelly! Personally loved the mango lychee lemonade since it was a warmer day and very refreshing! But they have lots of milk tea flavors for any time of season! Also, I discovered that they have more options for toppings than other boba spots such flavored jelly (lychee, mango, peach, etc), matcha, honey boba, & more! Def will be back here! read more

Tea Monks has their original location in Carlsbad, and this location just opened up a week ago in the mall in Escondido! Took my son here for a treat and got lots of videos but not many still photos :( Love that their drinks aren't overly sweet and you can adjust sweetness levels and customize toppings. Got a mango slush no boba for the kiddo and I got a Pink Paradise (green tea w/ peach & lychee flavors) with peach popping boba. So refreshing! This is now my favorite boba place in Escondido! read more

The service was okay. I asked for light boba for my Taro Slushie and they gave me the regular amount of boba. I'm a big fan of boba and this one was the worse one I've had. Super watered down, can't taste the taro at all and to top it off, wayy too much boba when I had initially asked for 'light boba'. Don't usually give low reviews but was disappointed with this one. read more

The menu is huge so there's something for everyone, unfortunately the drinks were just ok. The strawberry matcha tasted very artificial. I didn't taste the fresh strawberries at all. I couldn't even see the strawberry layer before I mixed it, so I doubt there's even any strawberries in the drink. The matcha tasted like artificial matcha powder, like it wasn't real matcha powder but a flavoring that was meant to taste like matcha. The boba texture was chewy which was good. It was also very expensive. $6.90 for their medium size which is a large at other places. Service was friendly and the drinks came out quick, just wish they tasted better as I would be a regular it they did. read more

Absolutely horrible taste. I had a mocha tea with boba, it's so unevenly mixed, the drink tased warm and cold at the same time. And there's also a little sour taste from something they added. A small drink is $6+, waste of money. read more

I am so in love with @teamonksusa it's a new boba spot and they have 60 flavors to choose from! I love their logo, and the tops are so cute!! They put so much love into their drinks. I got the mango moon smoothie with cherry blossom boba and it was amazing! It has dragon fruit in it so you get that gorgeous hot pink color. The other drink I tried was the s'mores with chocolate boba. |loved watching this one being made! can't wait to come back and try more flavors! read more

Boba is decent, service is the worst (coming from an ex food service worker) I usually come and get a matcha milk tea 50% sweet with strawberry pearls and I've never had an issue before... except this last time. I ordered from and tipped a blonde boy who was very nice (not sure what his name was). Then I got my drink and it was overwhelmingly sweet, I thought maybe I had to stir it so I did but it was still disgustingly sweet. I wasn't upset at all I thought perhaps it was just a mistake so I went to the front and explained to them very politely that my drink was very sweet and if there was any chance I could get it remade because I only wanted 50% sweet. The girl I talked to was SO RUDE. She told me it was the strawberry pearls, I told her no that I get this same drink a lot with the pearls and that it's the drink itself that was sweet. She told me "no it's not, matcha isn't sweet" which was a stupid thing to say considering the drink is made with milk, liquid SUGAR SYRUP, and matcha. Obviously im aware that matcha isn't sweet by itself.. But I didn't say that to her, I just kept politely asking if I could have it remade. She kept arguing with me saying it's not sweet and eventually said "I can just put water in it" with attitude. After arguing for 4 minutes straight someone else in there said they'd remake it. I don't understand why the argument was necessary, how are you going to tell me it isn't sweet when IM the one drinking it bruh. I've never even asked them to remake a drink before, I'm not a Karen but this really had me heated considering I tipped & everything. The girl was tall maybe like 5'8 ish, Asian, and on the bigger side. I've seen her argue with customers before when I've come but I always minded my business and assumed the best. I hope the managers see this honestly because you shouldn't have an employee talking crazy to customers for no reason. Unnecessary. read more

I stopped by here for the first time this week. Lorena made my favorite, taro milk tea with boba. She was friendly and quick in preparing the drink. I'm glad she was able to accommodate the sweetness level as I prefer less sugar. Plenty of open seating available to enjoy my drink. This is our first time coming here and buying the mango moon. The taste is okay. It taste like a smoothie. I cant taste the mango much. The boba is a bit hard. the worst part of it is the amount of time it took to make these two. I think it can definitely improve on how fast it should take and there weren't anyone ordering it was just us and it took almost 20 minutes to get these two drinks. Saw this new boba place at the mall and decided to try it out... came out to be the worst boba i've ever had. I got a classic black milk tea with honey boba and both the drink and boba were literally so bland. It tasted like diluted milk. Also keep in mind I got a 24oz sized drink, which isn't even their biggest size and costed me almost $7. I recommend you save your time and money and skip this place. read more

worst boba shop ever. waited half an hour for our drink that was never made. we asked about our drink twice and they completely forgot our order. very slow service, very understaffed, and the staff that does work there move at the pace of turtles. waste of my time and money. we got taro boba milk tea which tasted very diluted and the boba was hard. the straws they had were also so narrow that the boba wouldn't fit through it. so many things wrong with this place. read more

I told the barista how I randomly found them asked her what was their most ordered drink? She told me the De La Olla Latte, Horchata Latte, and Blueberry Matcha. My vacationing daughter requested…read morethat I treat her to a morning cup of joe, which made me do a double take because she should be treating her old man, but as many parents can attest, our kiddos will always be our babies, so of course I acquiesced. My baby girl has visited Compa Coffee Roasters (CCR) one time previously, she enjoyed it, and requested that we stop by. This was my first visit to this coffee spot and after just the very first sip of my iced Salted Maple Latte extra sweet, CCR will be seeing this Filipino giant again. Compa Coffee Roasters is located in Rancho Bernardo specifically off the 15 freeway and the Rancho Bernardo Road exit. If you're driving north, make a right after you exit and head east. If you're driving south, make a left after you exit and head east. The coffee joint can be found in The Mercado outdoor shopping center with its anchor store being Barons Market. Besides Barons, Kangnam KBBQ, Pho Cao Dao, Xuan Tailoring & Alterations, Pizza Hut, Fed Ex, and one of our fave boba drink places, Presotea all reside here. There is plenty of parking, but when we visited, it was busy, so you might have to park far. CCR was jam packed when we entered, so obviously I'm a little late to the party of knowing what an awesome coffee spot this is. It's got a really cool vibe with wooden sun art on their walls, flora throughout the space, and the focal point being the diligent baristas doing their thing. There are wooden tables, bench seating, bar top with no bar seating, and plenty of outdoor seating. From the gentleman at the register and the baristas, the staff were friendly and had a positive disposition. Their merchandise was really cool especially their logo tshirts that looked like an old school San Diego Padres logo. I remember when Compa Coffee Roasters had just opened in Rancho Bernardo and I had been meaning to visit, but never got around to checking it out. Blessed that it was my coffee aficionado baby girl who enticed me to go and she was spot on CCR being a good coffee spot. CCR opens at 7am and closes at 6pm. Besides coffee, the java joint serves sandwiches, afternoon eats, variety of food, bagels, toasts, beer, and wine. When I talked to friendly gentleman behind the register, I asked what he recommended for someone who enjoys sweet coffee. He provided several recommendations including their Salted Maple Latte, which is what my daughter had planned to order. I kindly asked for an iced Salted Maple Latte, requesting it to be sweeter, and looked forward to trying my first CCR coffee drink. It was delicious from the first sip to the last, so much so that I savored that drink for quite awhile, which is abnormal for me. That's how tasty it was. It was the perfect sweetness for me, my taste buds could distinguish the coffee, and it was really flavorful. If you're into sweet coffee drinks, I highly recommend CCR's iced Salted Maple Latte extra sweet. You're welcome!!! I'm thankful to God for being able to spend quality time with my baby girl treating her to some cup of Joes from Compa Coffee Roasters. I'm also blessed that our new go to coffee spot is just around the corner from our home.

After the first sip, absolutely worth the hype. The matcha had a vibrant color and tasted smooth and earthy without being bitter, which tells me they're using quality matcha. The cream topping didn't hold firm like other places but still added richness and light sweetener, creating the perfect balance with the matcha underneath. The drink was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. The café has a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and a great selection of specialty drinks. If you're a matcha lover or looking to try an Einspanner this one is worth a try.

Coffee was alright, I would've liked it more if I had gotten a different milk, it's my fault knowing that almond milk doesn't make for a good frothy latte milk. Overall there wasn't anything too special about the place, but it certainly wasn't bad. I wouldn't go out of my way for it but I have preferences for everything I had elsewhere. You go up to the front and place your order and they'll bring the food you order to your table, they do close early since this is a breakfast spot first and foremost, so expect to arrive early if you want to eat here. I usually order The Works in a half since a full size sandwich is well over $20, excluding any additions or substitutions you may make. The sandwich does taste really good, but it does come at a steep price. They've grown in popularity over the years, which may have influenced their pricing (by a lot) which in my opinion does outweigh it's value. While I do enjoy my infrequent visits, I can say this location is more of an occasional treat, as opposed to a constant meal to be had often.

The chocolate provided texture, but the base itself felt flat. The sour cream and brown sugar ended up being my favorite of the three, largely because the brown sugar was actually distinguishable. The sour cream contributed an unusual tanginess that made the flavor more interesting, though the balance was inconsistent. Some bites highlighted the warm sweetness of the brown sugar, while others tasted predominantly of sour cream, creating a combination that occasionally felt at odds with itself. I appreciated that the small size included two flavors, and the employee serving me was generous with the scoops. Still, this ended up being a fairly forgettable stop. Those who enjoy gelato with bold, inventive, or highly concentrated flavors may find the offerings here a bit too restrained.

I'm usually not one to leave a review but this was just extremely frustrating that it left me on a bad note. For one this was my first time trying this place. Service was great I ordered a "Thai tea" was very curious because I've never had a boba tea before and that was the drink that drew me in. When I got my drink it was orange so I asked an employee about that and they let me know that the menu is actually wrong and that the one in the picture is a green Thai not a regular Thai tea they offered to change the drink to the one we originally thought we where getting.For a first time customer it was more embarrassing than anything having to ask them to exchange the drink because it was not what was advertised. read more
