Had breakfast here on Saturday morning. The place was busy with both seating inside and outside. The interior is rustic and I mean that in a good way with different types of paintings and furniture and other mismatched items. Especially enjoyed seeing Alice in Wonderland lithographs hung on the wall. Turning to the food I decided to have their frittata which included Green onions and a variety of veggies. The frittata was tasty and of ample size and included some small potato wedges on the side which were also quite delicious. Also enjoyed their jasmine green tea which was a loose leaf variety and obviously of quality. Service was friendly and prompt considering the number of customers. I recommend the place which is obviously quite popular with the locals. read more

This breakfast cafe was so outstanding ! A great find . Potato pancakes are so delicious , so filling and tasty ,seasoned with herbs. Their pastries are fresh baked from early in the morning . I had a morning glory loaf was out of this world , by the time I went back for more to bring home , the loaf was gone. Even the jasmine green tea was so nice , not bitter at all. Returning from Bodega Bay at noon, my wife suggested breakfast. Being Monday, I was doubtful, but we found the place. She loved her omelet and the grab your own coffee. Very clean and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The only blemish was listening to a three year old play a loud game on his mom's phone. It was annoying particularly because the cafe had a shelve full of children's books and a full butcher paper roll and plenty of crayons. This new parent practice of using a phone as a baby sitter is wrong. read more

This place basically screams Petaluma. It was a funny little hipster place where you drink coffee out of bowls and people with beards and skinny jeans taken your order. You walk up, order, and proceed to battle for a table. The menu was really interesting, but the kitchen was small so I was limited with gluten free options. Please note the gluten free pancake is cooked on the same griddle and is NOT gluten free if you have celiac. Stick with the scrambles and ask for a clean pan to be used. I also got corn tortillas instead of toast. The server did his best to help me order, but this wasn't as gluten free friendly as other places. But there was an effort made and the ambiance is charming, portions are big and the food was good. I personally get a bit stressed to find seating, but there was enough and I was relaxed once seated. The vegan banana bread and morning glory toast were some of the most delicious sweet treats I've had the pleasure to enjoy in recent memory. This morning I was out and about with in area and decided to come here for breakfast. I was feeling welcomed and into the cozy atmosphere that this place had to offer. I was super excited to see that local artist had placed pictures on the wall and it was worth enjoying it. I was surprised at how many wonderful unique choices they had on their menu. This place is a true gem. I ended up getting the spinach and feta omelet and it was actually very delicious. It came with cranberry walnut toast and strawberry jam which tasted pretty amazing too. Im sure I will be back to taste more items on the menu and enjoy what this cute little place has to offer. If your in the area recommend giving this place a try. I continue to love coming here when back in Petaluma. I love their herbal Roman Provence tea. I also have been on a kick of ordering sides... Eggs, a delicious potato cake (comfort food) and a different type of pancake each time. They only serve 100% pure maple syrup (that I also notice is organic). The owners and employees are always friendly, welcoming and have a great sense of humor. The regulars (welcomed me into conversation when I was there alone) are kind and interesting. A fabulous eatery like we used to enjoy- but a rare find these days. Food was phenomenal find- if you are lucky enough to happen upon this magical place. I came in at closing time at 2 pm- And everyone took the time to make sure I was happily waited upon. Food was decent but not worth a 45 minute wait and horrible non-existent customer service. We came last summer because someone told us it was good, but at the time we were told we couldn't grab a table before ordering so we left. Not going to order food without knowing I have a place to sit. This time it was half empty. It was a Monday. Ordered grilled cheese sandwiches. After 45 minutes we asked a woman who works there where our food was. She just snapped it's coming. Then brought our salads out and said, it's about to go on the grill. So after 45 minutes they hadn't even started cooking it yet! Hate to go on a busy day! We won't be back. read more

I guess this is one of those places that has been ruined by its success. Went for my son's birthday breakfast this morning, and I seated the kids while I stood in line to order. We were told rather brusquely that it wasn't allowed to sit until after ordering. That seems to be a spottily applied policy, as I saw several seniors holding large tables for friends without ordering. The food is still good, but we probably won't be going back. read more

I've witnessed her sexually harass her female workers relentlessly and I've even smelled alcohol off of the cook's and other employees' breath when they'd bring my food to my table, when I would bring my kids with mel!! That's really inappropriate for an establishment first of all. Are they really drinking on the job? I don't want to assume but I swear I can see some of the staff drunk. Also. Every time I've eaten here I've gotten sick. I've found hair in my salads...multiple times. So if the owner lets her own employees drink while they make the food they serve, that surely doesn't sound so sanitary to me. Lately I've only gotten baked goods and coffee because I really don't want to risk my kids and myself catching salmonella. I can't tell you how many times the nice female servers bussers and register person have had to apologize on behalf of the other staff!!..even for the owner's behavior...If you've gotten to the end of this review but still plan on going to the tea room cafe, just know it's really not worth the health risk. Someone needs to seriously talk with the owner or report to health officials because it's like every time I've been there there's something messed up. No joke. The owner pays thousands of dollars a month to remove yelp reviews that speak truth. Shouldn't she be using this money to hire another server so customers don't have to wait 50 minutes for their food? So staff aren't harassed and certain employees don't drink on the job? read more

Tea room cafe is good. It's located at 316 Western Ave Petaluma, near downtown. I went in a weekday for breakfast so it was easy to find parking and also didn't have to wait for seating. The place it's small but casual and comfy. The service was fast. The only problem was that when I placed my order I ordered French toasts but I only got one French toast so make sure your specific on either one or three items. The Bakery selection is yummy. Good food and good service. Also I was not aware until I was in line to order that it's a Cash only place so make sure you bring cash otherwise you'll have to walk about two blocks for the nearest ATM. A lot of selection to choose from on food and drinks. Pancakes are fluffy and yummy as well as the potato cakes. Tea room is closed Wednesday. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday open from 7:30-3:00pm and Saturday and Sunday's 8-2pm Until next time. Chao! read more

This was basically my favorite place. I would go there at least once a week. After a 24 hour shift at work I decided to stop by like I usually do. I didn't realized they had moved the ordering line. Stood there for 20 mins and nobody said anything to me. Zero customer service. Once I grabbed a table the waitress took it away from me & gave it to folks who arrived 25 minutes after I did. It was a 2 person table and she turned it into like a 7 table by bringing out more chairs. Even though the guests themselves told her I was there first. Never going back. I don't know who her target customers are but I am not one. Their huevos rancheros are terrible anyways. read more

A go to for brunch in Petaluma. I always get a feast of their tofu scramble, vegan banana bread, and a latte bowl. It can be tricky to find a plant based breakfast high in protein at a restaurant, but Tea Room satisfies this. With the tofu scramble, you get a choice of beans or greens (a salad) to go with it, which are both great options depending on your appetite. The atmosphere is best for smaller groups, and during peak times can be a little of a line but the food always makes it worth it. My family raves about their goat cheese omelette and scones, being a great choice for many varieties of dietary restrictions. The portion sizes here are ridiculously small and Maddie's Mix should be re-named the, "Onion Scramble" A TON OF GRILLED ONIONS!! You use Turkey deli meat?? The potato pancakes were amazing. I could probably eat these potato pancakes all day. They tasted that heavenly but they looked no where near the pictures of the ample sized potato pancakes on yelp from years ago. Teeny tiny :-( You get a choice of potatoes or greens with your breakfast and I opted for potatoes and they tasted like perfection. They were warm & crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside....melted in your mouth. I tasted a little bit of sour cream too. This is a gem of a place. We came here on a Sunday and it was crowded, but not awfully busy. The cafe is so cozy and the staff were so sweet and helpful. You order when you walk in and then get seated, but our server helped us the whole time and was incredibly nice. I would definitely recommend the hot chocolate - it comes in a HUGE bowl with an extremely generous portion of whipped cream to top. If you need a caffeine fix, the mocha is also presented the same way and equally delicious. This place is also the perfect place for comfort food. On a wet, dreary day, our order of eggs benedict with steaming hot potatoes and the quinoa egg bowl were just the things we needed to help warm our stomachs and boost our spirits. Conveniently located right before downtown Petaluma. Please bring cash! I did not and had to walk a block or two to the atm nearby. I came around 10am and did not have any trouble finding seating. I really like the decor! You order your food at the counter and one of the staff members will bring it out to you. I ordered the menage a trois. Interesting name haha love it when menu items are sorta outside of the box. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I waited for about 15 minutes until my food was brought out to me so not too long. When I first got my food I was slightly disappointed. My chicken apple sausage was burnt. My pancake was slightly burnt as well. I thought I could just handle it being burnt but couldn't get over the taste. I saw a review about asking for a clean plan and I agree because I could taste a not so clean pan in my food. My eggs were made perfectly! Since this is a Tea Room I thought I would try the chai tea latte. In my opinion I wish it was sweeter. When I think of chai lattes I think of it being sweet with a small hint of spice. My chai felt a little watery. I would like to go back to try some of the other menu items. read more

The space is a little small but the quality of food is insane! We went on a rainy Saturday and it was packed but I actually enjoy a place that is really busy, it means that it's good! Even though it was busy, the food came out at the perfect time. The brewed coffee is delicious and I love their latte bowls! The pancakes are the best we have ever had! I love Tea Room Cafe! We've come on two occasions. We heard about their delicious eggs Benedict so went by one Saturday and found out its a Sunday special. Both meals we tried were yummy but I do love that Benedict. It's my favorite breakfast food! They even serve their espresso coffee drinks in bowls which is cute - and caught me off guard. They were pretty busy both weekend days we went. There's a line almost to the door but it goes pretty quickly. Seating is the hardest thing to find. There have indoor seating and a few outdoors. You aren't allowed to hold a table or be seated before you've ordered as it isn't fair to other customers but if you don't mind waiting a few minutes a table will usually open up. This isn't a place to linger longer after eating - that's just rude. The design of Tea Room Cafe is super cute and the staff are so nice. It's decently priced as well - the same you'd pay at a diner. The food here is fantastic! Unfortunately if you are on a time crunch I would skip this place. Anything over 4 people becomes sticky to get a table. You have to be like a hawk while you wait in line to place your order. I recommend double teaming up with your buddies, one person stands in line while the other watches the room for a table vacancy. Teamwork always pays off. They have a robust menu with TONS of gluten free goodies and options. Their waffle is a bit grainy, but I am beginning to realize any restaurant that makes a gf waffle using cornmeal that is what happens. I appreciate being able to order a waffle. I've been here several times and I am sure I will be several more. It is tiny, but a solid brunch spot to grub down in. read more
