I got the French toast which was very good I also tried a few of there other foods and they were all very good. What I don't like about this place is the service. While some of the staff is really nice the other half is not. There are also a few different rules in the restaurant like you can't clear your plate and they must seat you. Pros: *Really tasty food, seasonal ingredients *Yummy quality teas and coffees *Vegan and Vegetarian options *Bright and cheery atmosphere and circulating original art on the walls *Some of my favorite breakfast (their pancakes are sooo good) Cons: *A bit overpriced. Not terrible, but still a con. *You pay first and then find a table. Considering that it's usually pretty busy and crowded, this makes for a stressful time finding a place to sit sometimes, and difficult if you have a party larger than 2-4 people. *you bus your own table and get your own silverware. You can tell the chefs are happy here. You can feel the love they put into every bite. They always add that little bit extra to make each dish a bit more special so it feels like a close friend is cooking for you, instead of a faceless restaurant. For example, if you order of a cup of chai you get an overflowing bowl of chai. If you're aching for mom's homemade cooking, but feel like going out for brunch, you can't beat it for the price. Came in on a Saturday for breakfast at 10am and ordered eggs Benedict to share. I loveeee eggs Benedict. You order, get a number, then find a seat. Indoor and outdoor seating. It was busy with the line almost out the door but moved pretty quickly. Our beverages were brought out right away and we had good people watching until the meal arrived. Breakfast of champions, made my champions! First order of business, order the Buttermilk Pancakes. These pancakes right here! Light, fluffy and ever so delicious. Top them with the maple syrup, that tastes as if it came right from the trees of Canada. Sorry Mrs. Butterworth's, you are not invited. Along with the pancakes I enjoyed the Avocado Omelet, filled with chunks of avocado and a creamy goat cheese. Oh! The potatoes that accompany the omelet are buttery, lightly salted and some of the best roasted potatoes you can ask for. Even the sourdough was toasted just how I like it. How did they know?! A mini side of preserves to spread across the toast, really complete this breakfast of champions. The Team Room seems to be very popular with the locals. It gets very busy here but the staff appear to be accustomed to the hustle and bustle. The only suggestion that I have, is they add an additional barista during rush hour. We waited over 15 minutes for our cappuccino. There are self-serve containers of drip coffee inside. Don't leave your dog at home after the morning walk, there are approximately 5 tables where you can enjoy your meal outside with your furry friend. Since the Tea Room faces south-east, you can count on the sun to keep you toasty on a lazy afternoon. One word....YUMMY! We had lunch here today after we did some shopping in the downtown (check out the store next to it called "The Find"). I always get the same thing here...Eggs-in-a-hole! They're delicious! The hot chocolate is lovely, not too sweet. Staff is super friendly and upbeat. This place is usually packed as it is a popular place to brunch at. The location itself isn't that big so it can get crowded quick. Make sure you take some cash or your check book! This is usually my go to restaurant if I ever want to go out to eat. I literally make sure every time I'm in the neighborhood I eat here. Unfortunately probably due to Covid, the quality of food has nose dived and The dishes are a third more expensive. Their meats seem like deli meats or grisly and fatty whereas before they seemed carved and high-quality. In addition, They are making two eggs instead of three eggs scrambled or omelette and you have to pay extra for toast. Which amounts to about 20$ for sub par food for one meal. Very disappointing and sad. To add insult to injury to the experience, the trash was overflowing in the restroom and one was out of order and there was no toilet paper and a mess everywhere. We had to walk down the street to use the restroom. I will not be back. read more

Great little breakfast spot; the service was quick and the food was delicious despite them being short one staff member. (The woman helping us mentioned that another staff had called in sick). Bring cash. We didn't and had to go to the atm down the street. Delicious breakfast! Came here on a Sunday morning around 11 after spending the weekend in Point Reyes. The parking is limited. We had to park around the corner. The line was almost out the door. I was worried that we wouldn't have anywhere to sit, but by the time we ordered, there was a table for us. I ordered the Ham Eggs Benedict. So yummy! The biscuits were soft and fluffy. I ordered a drink and everyone around me including the other person in my party got their drink. The first time I checked in with my server about it she mentioned it'll be out soon. The second time I checked in she said there were a lot of drinks ahead of mine. The third time I asked we already had our food come out and I asked, once again. By then I was a bit disappointed. She then mentioned she didn't hear me the first time and says it'll be out soon and that she charged it to my card. I expected an apology or at least ask for my permission to charge it to my card. Had an excellent breakfast and coffee this morning. Extensive menu but I chose but the avocado omelette with goat cheese and pesto with a side of roasted potatoes and baby greens. Excellent portion, great taste. Mexican Mocha was excellent, more like a dessert. They serve several types of eggs Benedict on Sundays, which I will definitely have to go back and try. I LOVE this place! The staff is extremely friendly and the food is so good. I had the Chorizo Scramble, a half order of the Buttermilk Pancakes, and the Chai Latte. The scramble was delicious with some slight spice and perfectly cooked eggs. It came with potatoes and walnut bread. The potatoes were well seasoned and the walnut bread was incredibly tasty. The pancakes had crispy edges and a fluffy middle with syrup that was mouth watering and not overly sweet. They topped the pancakes with cooked apples that had cinnamon on them. The latte is well worth the price as it comes in a huge mug that seems to be a soup bowl. Just like the syrup for the pancakes, the latte isn't overly sweet. With delicious food at an affordable price, it's no wonder that this place stays busy! I can't wait to go back here for my brunch fix. read more

My (adult) daughter and I ate lunch at the Tea Room Cafe on 7/3/23, arriving at 11:30 AM. I had a fabulous Johnny Cake while my (adult) daughter had a delicious chorizo scramble with greens. We also purchased two scones for breakfast the next day. The place was very, very busy but even with that the service was courteous and accurate. Food arrived in 15 minutes and it was very tasty. I would go back again but would wait till 12:30 or even 1 PM when the place is less busy. This would lower the noise level and perhaps even provide the opportunity to sit outside. read more

I got the lemon poppyseed scone, which was so soft and moist (most scones are very dry to me), as well as the avocado toast, both were superb. Crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Coffee is self serve in push pots and properly made. It's an order at the counter setup, they give you a number and you pick your seat. Each table had a little vase with flowers. The ceilings are high and the light comes in so nicely through the big storefront windows helping to ease you into the day. There are nice polite signs stating so but dang there's always a few who put gift bags on the table to hold for their party and one chick put two apples on a table to hold it. The Tea Room Cafe is one of my favorite locations to visit in Petaluma for brunch. The interior is super casual and homey, but seating is somewhat limited. If you are coming in for weekend brunch, you might have to stand by for some time. That being said, their food and beverages are DELICIOUS. I love their cafe mochas - super rich and creamy. If you're looking for a great rainy day breakfast spot, this is definitely the place. I ordered their half stack of buttermilk pancakes, which is reasonably priced at 6.50. It's topped with cinnamon and apples, which makes for a delicious pancake combo. The cakes came out hot and were perfectly fluffy. My only gripe with the Tea Room is that wait times can be strangely long. Even when the place is not busy, food can take up to 20-30 minutes to come out - longer than other places around town given the same party size and roughly the same order. I must admit that there have a been numerous times in which I would sit through Petaluma traffic just to have their coffee and house potatoes. If that doesn't show how much I love going here, then I don't know what does. They have a really great staff and that definitely helps with creating such a warm and welcoming environment.
