I was so glad I had not had lunch yet - I ordered shumai (3 shrimp and 3 pork) as well as three buns (pork, walnut and a coconut covered custard bun). The setup is simple and cute (although the signage had me a little confused - they also have salads that are priced kind of by the number of items). The service was very friendly and they were kind of surprised at how excited I was they were finally open. It's mostly set up to take out, although they have a small amount of seating. I took my food to go and I was home in about eight minutes. By the time I got home I had eaten all the shumai. I thought the pork was much better than the shrimp and the pork was just OK. Unfortunately the buns were...not good. I couldn't recommend any of the three I tried based on that visit. I'm hoping they were just beyond their freshness (I was there after the actual lunch hour), so overall I was disappointed in everything I tasted. But I plan on giving them another try in the future (earlier in the day) and I will also try a drink next time.

The rice was hard and crunchy, and, much more concerning, we were served chicken that appeared undercooked. At that point, this went beyond simply being disappointed with the food. We called the restaurant to let them know what happened and give them an opportunity to address it. Instead of listening to the complaint or trying to make things right, the person we spoke with became rude and argumentative, raised their voice, accused us of lying, and ultimately told us not to come back. That was honestly more disappointing than the bad meal itself. Mistakes happen in restaurants, and we understand that. How you respond when a customer respectfully brings a legitimate concern to your attention says a lot. Between the declining food quality, higher prices, and especially the way our concern was handled, we won't be returning. After being explicitly told not to come back, I suppose that decision was made pretty easy for us.
