I have lived in Sacramento for six years and FINALLY found my tea shop. Until finding Tea Xotics, I was begging my family and friends to send or bring loose leaf from my favorite shop in my home town. The shop itself is clean, bright, and full of gifts and items other than tea. However, don't be worried, the shelves are stocked with dare I say hundreds of tea blends. The staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They're patient and always happy to answer questions I have, no matter how elementary they are. Their passion for good tea, customer service, and community is apparent with every visit. I highly recommend Tea Xotics for seasoned tea drinkers, gift ideas, and anyone wanting to explore the vastness of loose leaf. This is a really cute shop. If you're a big tea fan, def check it out. There were a few things that will stick in my head and make me hesitate to go back. While the woman taking our order was very helpful and friendly, the woman behind her whom I get the vibe is the owner, has an interesting way with social skills and I'm sure she's a nice person but judging by her responses to some of the bad reviews on here, I can tell she isn't the best at customer service. When I had asked if they perhaps had some kind of tea for my daughter for bedtime, she said " try no electronics before bed" or something like that. Yea, I was kinda just looking for chamomile tea for a 9 year old who could use some herbal calm before bed. Not random parenting advice. So that was kinda weird. I am tea obsessed and wanted to love this place, there's a similar tea joint where I vacation that I always go to. The first time I came here I didn't enjoy my drink but can't remember why specifically. Then I came a second time and ordered a hot matcha latte. Genuinely, the worst matcha latte I've had. My friend didn't like his drink either and we threw them both out. The girl working the counter was not polite, she wasn't outright rude, but certainly not polite. The woman, she seemed like the owner, was more charismatic. We watched the girl make the large iced drink ahead of ours. She poured in the tea and it didn't reach the top so she just added more ice. I believe this is what happened with my drink. Instead of getting more tea for my large drink, it was just filled to the top with more milk. The stars are for location, variety of teas offered, and cute retail items (though quite pricey IMO). But paying $6 a drink just to throw it away, I can't see myself coming back. read more

This is the best tea shop in El Dorado Hills in the town center. They have lots of high-quality items for the kitchen, bath, wellness, jewelry, handmade perfumes, and much more one can buy in addition to their outstanding tea selection. I tried the Naked Grass Skirt Matcha Tea with coconut milk iced. I felt awakened both mind and body, which immediately took me back to Kyoto, Japan. I bought a couple of earrings and a gorgeous headband. Then I sat in the sun while sipping my tea. I was grateful they had hand sanitizers, and everyone was wearing a mask. On my second trip there, I tried the goddess perfume roller tester and highly recommend getting this one. I ordered the Col., Earl Grey Black Tea, with bergamot, and it did not disappoint. I always have a wonderful experience at Tea Xotics in El Dorado Hills! The owner is fantastic and she's there quite often, everyone who works there is well educated of the different varieties of drinks, it's clean, crisp and chic, and it's the perfect location to enjoy a drink. I wasn't a fan of tea until a friend brought me there some time ago, the ladies behind the counter were so extremely helpful in helping me find a drink to try. This tea shop is truly amazing! They have a huge selection of unique teas, my favorite is "Santa's cup" ! They also have delicious coffee drinks, it's hard to make a decision! The store also has really great gifts like body care, candles, jewelry, olive oils and tea accessories. I was able to get many gifts this year all in one place. I really loved this store. We visited a couple weeks ago and immediately were ready to drop serious cash on Xmas gifts there. The nice employees offered to make us tea while we shopped and we got great recs and paid. While we were paying a lady walked in very confidently without a mask and stood behind us (thankfully she kept her distance). I thought for sure the employees would ask her to mask up when she got to the point of sale but, no, nothing. And from her interactions and order she seemed like a regular. Now, I think it's ridiculous that asking people to mask up is an employees job as it can put them in an unsafe position, so even then I wasn't going to write a bad review. We just were going to get our orders and leave (so we weren't sharing space with this person for too long). THEN another woman walked in without a mask and turned out to be an employee- interacting with the other employees behind the point of sale while they were making our drinks. I hoped she was heading to put one on but certainly she wasn't rushing to and had a full conversation before we got our orders and left. Hopefully she put one on after we left. We both felt really uncomfortable and rushed out of there, and unfortunately took our Xmas shopping elsewhere. I am writing this with the hope that they tighten up their mask policies so people can safely shop. I would love to come back and safely support this small business. read more

Don't let the name of this cute little shop fool you because they sell so much more than just teas! They have everything from soaps, lotions, lip balms, to candles and spices, to olive oils and vinegars, and of course their teas! I'm only starting to get into drinking tea and I think this place has set the bar very high for all other teas I will drink. But I will say that these teas are on the pricier side ($6-10/oz) They have an entire wall plus the wall behind the register for different teas originating from Japan, China, Taiwan, and original Tea Xotics blends just to name a few! I like how they include on the tea canisters and the bags that you buy the temperature of the water you should boil at and for how long to steep your tea. And if you're feeling overwhelmed by the different teas, they always have samples of 2-3 drinks they're featuring! I also like how they sell single servings of the tea in case you're not sure you can commit to one ounce (the minimum they sell). If you're stopping by the Town Center I would definitely recommend coming by here. I would totally spend my day here sipping a nice cup of tea while reading a book or studying at their little lounge area. What a gem right in edh town center! Friendly helpful staff and a large selection of tea! I love the matcha especially the coconut milk matcha tea, but if you want something different try out the dark chocolate matcha latte it's not extremely sweet. They also have chai, not sure exactly but on of the barista said they grind and import the chai from India it's a very high grade! Anyway bottom line is they take pride in tea blends and products they serve. The front part of the shop is a gift area with soaps and little spa trinkets and the side has olive oils & balsamic you can sample. The tea bar is in the middle and their is seating is in the back. Greatest pit stop I made while traveling from Lake Tahoe to San Francisco. We were originally looking for a Starbucks but I'm so glad we stopped at this place instead. T'was a paradise--not only did they have an amazing selection of tea, but they had tea gift sets, lotions, soaps, spices, cooking oils, etc. Having a bathroom was also a plus! We arrived only 15 minutes before they were going to close, and our barista was so nice. I ordered an iced London Fog, which was delicious--she kindly added more vanilla cream for me. There were also two teapots that you could sample; the Coconut Grassskirt was delicious (my friend ordered this and the barista put coconut shavings on top for free!). Very cute tea/specialty gift shop in the heart of town center. Extensive tea/olive oil/ soap selections. Very nice staff. Each tea is hand crafted and takes time to prepare, which is reflected in the price. There is a nice seating area in the back to work or read a book. However, each time I've been in it seams the majority of the customers run in to grab a drink and go. My only complaint is the use of plastic straws! Especially for the quality of the store I would expect them to use a more environmentally friendly alternative. Hopefully this changes soon. read more

I LOVE tea xotics! I've been going there for a few years now, and their coconut grass skirt matcha has never disappointed! It's so good, you have to try it!! The staff are so incredibly friendly and kind. A few times ago, the cashier asked me what plans I had that day, and I told her how I was volunteering at the soup kitchen, and that I do that regularly. She said that's so amazing that I was volunteering my time and decided to give me my drink for free as well as a free bath bomb. She ended up writing on my cup "Good things happen to good people" That was so sweet of her and really made my day. It reminded me to keep doing good, for more good things to come my way. They also have an adorable shop there with lots of cute things. I want them to start selling food, because I know it'd be amazing!! This place has such a wide variety of tea, carefully collected from all over the world. It's an exciting outing to just take a look at the place, the tons of cans of tea lining the walls, and the tea menu that resembles the long voters' list of the overpopulated SF Bay Area, which is not too far from here. They have a wall with olive oils and vinegar, which you are free to taste - very cool, although I did not find the oils anything to write about. We had some exotic chocolate tea, which seemed to have a variety of spices in it, so it tasted far from the tea we are used to, but it was absolutely great and full marks for that. I got my 'for here' tea in a to-go paper cup that reminded me of Starbucks, the crowds, the chaos, the mediocrity and a hurry. In short, it reminded me of something that's at best 'Meh' - and 2 stars. Perhaps in the spirit of tea, I'll be invited again to enjoy the tea expedition around the world. read more
