A group of us cruised over to TeakWoods for the last Sunday of regular season football. Talk about a JOKE 1 waitress to work all of the tables. I ordered a burger and fries and the kids ordered chicken tenders and onion rings. After putting in the order we were later told they ran out of onion rings which is fine things happen. After receiving our food the burger I ordered was hardly cooked and tasted like a salt patty on a bun and one of my kids found a 1.5 inch bone in the chicken tender. Food was over priced for what you get drink prices are ok if you don't mind waiting forever to get them. The 1 good thing they had was the Tv's were all labeled for what games were going to be on them so you could sit accordingly to the game you would like to watch. This was my first time there and it will be my last time there. The poor waitress was running around trying to take care of everyone and the management just walked around collecting checks to cash you out. Oh and I forgot someone in our group ordered an appetizer that came out cold they took it back and it took them nearly 30-35 min to bring out the new one. Ate here recently. I can safely say the low star reviews are done almost entirely out of a mean-spirited sense of self-righteousness rather than actual experiences. The place is very lively and the staff are all very friendly, and the food was delicious. The menu prices have gone up a little from what's posted on Yelp but the food is delicious and still reasonably priced. The one star is for out server who was wonderful, Tina. Now for the food. We ordered the Jalapeno Poppers, which had way to thick of batter, the cheese inside was still cold but the bacon and batter were burnt. Had the mushroom swiss burger, ordered medium rare. Came out medium which is over done for me, sent it back and then it came out cold and raw meat. Sent it back and the third one was well done. Left after not eating. Not sure if I will be back. Did find out that the cook tonight was name Mike and should be fired for the amount of returned food. The main cook was off tonight so might go back when he is there and try the food. This place has amazing food! Came here for lunch and to be honest the food took a while to come out and we were getting a little annoyed but once it arrived, all the waiting was worth it. We were genuinely surprised how fresh and well seasoned everything was. Constructive criticism to the owner would be to better match the name to the decor theme and the food type because with the name it seemed like it would be like tropical/ Hawaiian food similar to like Islands but the decor said sports bar so it felt a little disjointed. Also had I been in a hurry like I sometimes am at lunch, I may not have been able to stay as long as it took to get my food. Having just moved off of Clinton Keith I was so excited to find a new local bar/grill to hang out at. I came here with my husband, there was one other customer at the bar eating and no else else in there. Multiple employees working and messing around in the grill area. I found this little gem a couple days ago and I being from the Midwest am here to tell you they have the BEST burger I've had in Cali since moving here in 1998!!! The place is clean with a hip ambiance and Records lining the walls. The staff was really cool and attentive to me and my overreaction to how awesome my burger was. I'm not a local, but I'm in the area on occasion and stopped with a friend looking for some dinner after a long day. What a mistake. I don't remember who our server was, but the place is chronically really understaffed. It took a long time to get menus, let alone drinks, but our waitress was trying to be everywhere at once. There was live music by a solo guy with a guitar. He was okay, but then some drunk guy stands up with a mic and thinks he's going to sing, too. Weaving on his feet, slurring his words with a dopey grin and just kept going, "Wooo!" while the guitarist played an intro over and over and over. Finally, he started without the drunk guy and the tosspot kinda joined in here and there, usually with the wrong lyrics and always way off key. What is this, open mic night? Awful. Then the hammered dork starts shouting about "This is how we roll at Teakwoods, wooo! And if you don't like it, YOU CAN GET THE F*CK OUT!" I'm not exaggerating here. This utter jerk keeps shouting obscenities, telling everyone to get the f*ck out if they don't agree with him and whooping while the guitarist tries to play another song and looking really embarrassed and apologetic. Our soup had arrived by now and the waitress came to see if it was okay. I told her I didn't know if management was around, but someone needed to shut the drunk guy up because he was really offensive. She frowned and said, "That's the owner." You have got to be kidding me. The OWNER is standing up in front of his patrons, drunk as a skunk, practically falling over and screaming obscenities at his customers in between pathetic attempts to mumble out a few lyrics in a key known only to cats in heat? This went on and on. Waterboarding would have been preferable. Our meal had arrived by now and I'm really sorry we didn't cancel our order and do what this asshat kept inviting us to do---get the f*ck out. At one point, he stumbled over and asked, "Hey, how's that steak treating you?" I told him pretty loudly that the steak was treating me better than the owner was. Several other customers said YEAH, but it went right over his head and he went back to whooping and yelling like he was leader of the band. We ate as fast as we could, left most of it on the plate (it wasn't worth taking home), paid our bill, and left. I've never left a restaurant before after I'd placed an order, but this was appalling behavior and I'm sorry I didn't just walk out. Don't get me wrong, I can swear like a truck driver under the right circumstances, but never, ever would I stand up with a microphone drunk and slobbering and scream at customers in my own place of business. This is the kind of guy that would go back into the kitchen and blow his nose into your food if he thought you didn't like him. Never, never, never again. A place not to come back to, food was okay but service is awful, you can tell who there friends or regulars are cause they get served outside of that girls huddle at end of the bar and talk with each other. After trying to order an appetizer after having some drinks (which never were able to do) it took over 20 minutes to get the tab to leave to head somewhere else where the atmosphere is better and you can get decent service. You know it's bad when the majority of the conversations between regulars and employees is how out of control a number of customers show up already drunk and just get worse and get into altercations with other customers.
