They allow up to 2 samples of their flavors per person and when we arrived on a Friday night around 8pm with our toddler, there was a line wrapped around the corner. I went to the park with our little one while my husband waited on the line. The gelato is creamy and delicious and the fruit flavors are bold and refreshing! We got the Pistachio as well as the mango, blueberry and strawberry flavors. The child cup is 6.50 with 1 flavor, the regular size with up to 2 flavors is $8, the 3 flavor cup is 9 and I think I stopped looking lol but a pint is $14. The prices you see are also inclusive of tax - European style, which we appreciated. It is a bit pricey for what look like teeny cups, but the ingredients are organic where they can be and it has all been consistently delicious. They also pack the cups pretty well. The pistachio on top was good with some pieces inside for a bit of crunch, though I would say in terms of other fancy gelatos, it's a bit worse than Venchi, as the pistachio flavor isn't as strong. I didn't get any writing on the cake, as I already had a Happy Birthday candle, and I didn't want to add extra icing to the cake. I liked how well they package the cake. The box was large enough, and they line the bag with a thin piece of cardboard to stabilize the box. I'm not a big sweets person, but I enjoyed the chocolate-y richness of the cake. Now they are using what I call, fake jam, it's like a thick paste with no seeds. I hope Monteleone will stop cutting corners and go back to using quality ingredients. For now, Cousin John's in Park Slope is one of the last bakeries that does not compromise on their quality, they are always consistent. Monteleone needs to follow that formula, people notice when things change.
