The tour included so much amazing food - you will not leave hungry. San Antonio Detours offers other public tours weekly and I will definitely be checking those out the next time I'm in town. It's easy to see why this is one of the most visited cave sites for tourism worldwide and the…read moremost-visited in Texas. It's a very well-developed cave to visit. By "developed", I mean that lighting and a path has been installed to make traversing it A LOT easier than when it was discovered. By "path", I mean smooth, textured, non-slip, paved sidewalks from one end of the tour to the other--complete with stainless steel handrails along almost every step of it. The effort it took to make a cave system this accessible is beyond commendable. At one end of one of the tours there is a long uphill slope to get out of the cavern, but you don't have to walk--they have a roller/conveyor belt that you stand on and ride to the top. The erosion-carved rocky "rooms" of the cave system defy description. They are up to 100 feet tall, 100 feet wide, and over 200 feet long, and are filled with otherworldly mineral formations that have been actively "growing" for millions of years. Photos don't do this justice. When you see it in person, it's just breathtaking. Adult-only tours would be an occasional welcome option, as a less-than-silent baby/toddler ruins the silence that the below-ground space allows. Parking is abundant, but it is not free. Even out in the spacious Texas Hill Country they decided that $10 per car was appropriate. I hate paying to park (anywhere), and in a rural setting like this, it just feels like such a shameless money-grab! I wish they'd just charge more for the tours and let us feel like parking is "free". More intensive, deeper tours for small groups that require higher effort into undeveloped parts of the caverns are offered on a limited basis. This sounds like something worth returning for.

It is the first cavern discovered I decided this time to check the hidden wonders tour for the newest cavern. This tour is definitely not accessible. Lots of stairs down and lots of wet spots. But it is highly recommended! The tour guide was friendly saying jokes and very informative. Someone in the group asked him to rephrase for a kid brain to absorb the information. It was hilarious and the kiddo in the group was engaged and so enthusiastic about the whole deal! The cave itself is so beautiful! We spent a good hour and a half inside At the end you get the light and sound show and the fun ride out on the B.A.T the only belt assisted transport conveyor in the world to get out of the cave. Even that is a challenge for older people. It was a real fun afternoon exploring the cavern

I had no idea what to expect from Texas wine, but I was honestly pleasantly surprised. The day started at the Austin Visitor Center where we met with our tour guide and other guests. Then we hopped on our sprinter van and headed about 40 min outside of town to start our tour at Driftwood Winery. I really enjoyed the wines and we ended up purchasing a bottle to enjoy along the tour. Next, we went to Fall Creek Vineyards. This setting was beautiful, but I didn't love the wines as much. I did love that they had plenty of snacks so you could make your own charcuterie board. Snacks are a must when drinking wine all day. Last, we ended closer to the city in the St. Elmo District at Austin Winery. The tour is about $70 and then you pay for your wines at each stop. I had a fabulous time with our tour guide and tour mates. Would reccomend this if you're looking for a day excursion in Austin.

I'm definitely coming back here! Cristina and Nick were awesome hosts! We ended up being very late for our reservation but Cristina let us in anyway since we were the only group that day (it was a Monday). Nick came in after-hours to open up the axe throwing for us and was very patient with all of us, teaching us the ins and outs of axe throwing. Cristina hosted the escape room (The Orient Express), which was a murder mystery adventure. She was very accommodating and helpful even though we made her work late--on her birthday no less! We were genuinely terrified the entire time. If you do this room, definitely pay attention to your surroundings. While trying to dodge the zombie, we ended up with a lot of self-inflicted injuries and bruises from running into things like a metal breaker box on the wall. Despite that, it was a 10 out of 10 experience and I highly recommend it.

The online booking process was easy, we ordered the large package (up to 4 people, 1 large item, 1 medium item, 2 small items and glass bottles). Checking in was very swift and easy as well, Grant (the owner's husband) was super friendly and explained everything very clearly! We ended up getting to break a large wooden dresser, a wooden table with glass panels, an old monitor, and a keyboard. Tools for destruction (baseball bats, a large metal wrench, sledgehammers) goggles, gloves, and a JBL speaker were provided for us. You can even bring your own items to destroy as long as they aren't something with chemicals/oil in them. You can also bring your own tools to destroy things as long as they aren't blades. We got 50 minutes to destroy everything, we got everything done in about 45 minutes, so you get a decent time to break stuff. All cleanup is handled by the staff, so you don't have to worry about making a huge mess. That's the point! I would definitely return, was smiling and laughing all through the entire 50 minutes we got. Would recommend wearing a long sleeve, maybe jeans, and some thicker shoes/boots since you'll be stepping on glass most of the time. Be mindful that fragments of glass/wood WILL go flying, so be aware of your surroundings and use common sense. We had a blast and couldn't recommend this business more!

Plenty of room to spread out. The meet ran a little longer than anticipated, so I would recommend the meet organizer allows more time in their schedule or reduce the number of 10 minute breaks between events. Otherwise, everything else was great. I look forward to my kids swimming there again. Definitely worth the drive to San Antonio for a swim meet.

There are lots of seating around the pool, making it easy to spend a few hours there with family or friends. The park also has restrooms, a water fountain/refill station, and lifeguards on duty, which made the experience feel safe and well-maintained. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend arriving earlier in the day since it can get busy. Overall, it's a great free community pool with something for everyone, and I'll definitely be back!

All outdoor public swimming pools run by the city are free to all, open six days a week throughout the summer swimming season, and follow very similar rules and protocol. This review will focus on Roosevelt Swimming Pool and what sets it apart from other city swimming pools. As with most city pools, you are required to sign in at the front desk with name, age group, and gender. These roles help the parks department obtain funding to continue operation of the pools, so it is very important to sign in. Roosevelt Pool is a throwpack to 1950's pool design. Larger than most city pools, Roosevelt also is kidney shaped with several rows of concrete bleachers. This is one of the more popular pools and there are always dozens of people in the water, especially at the shallow end. It can get very crowded in the shallow area on weekends and holidays. The depth ranges from 3ft to about 10ft. There is usually ample room for swimming laps although the pool sides in the deep end can become crowded with teenagers, and we all know how they can be. Although it is a bigger pool, parking is limited, and you may find yourself waiting or walking up a stretch of hill to the entrance. There are male and female changing rooms that double as bathrooms. Roosevelt Pool is feeling its age, and you will want to be careful not to cut yourself on the rough cracks on the walls and floor of the pool. They hurt! The pool has a small waterslide for the kids, but they rarely open it up all season. Not sure why, but they just don't seem to like to. The manager for this pool is not the friendliest, and that attitude is passed along to the lifeguards who can be surly but are generally nice. Fruit and water are allowed in the pool area, but no other food. They have hourly or bi-hourly breaks for pH leveling, and you will spend between 20-30 minutes of time out of the water per break. The concrete can be very hot and shade is limited.

They also offer diving and swimming lessons, as well as a big area to just play in. I went to the Aquatic Center with a large group of teenagers that I was supervising and I was surprised at how assertive the staff were. They must have experience with unruly teenagers dive bombing off of the bleachers, because they were non too friendly while explaining the rules. Fortunately, the kids were so excited to be able to swim that they didn't mind sitting through a 15 -minute lecture. After that was over, the lady reluctantly released our group to get ready and jump in. The dressing rooms are fine, nothing special, but they do have that weird odor that comes from stagnant water sitting on the floor. I desperately attempted not to think about athlete's feet and other fungi while getting ready. They do have those cool machines that dry your swimming suits though, so that is a plus. I was excited to swim laps and dive, while most of the kids just enjoyed the recreational area. The Aquatic Center has pretty limited hours for family swim time (mostly just on weekends from 1 to 5 p.m. but with extended hours in the summer), but if you are interested in swimming laps, you'll have more options. This place isn't really fancy, but it definitely gets the job done. You can visit for only $4 or get a 16 visit punch card for $36 online. That's a great price, better than you will find most anywhere else. So if you want to get a few pounds from your waist but not your wallet, The Aquatic Center is your place.

The kids waited in line for about 25 minutes for the ride to breakdown; when this happens, they do not accommodate them by fast passing them later or anything like that, they are basically just told tough luck, try again later. A locker big enough to fit a backpack will run you $17.

They have a good number of waterslides here as well as having all of them be completely different from the next one definitely the highlight of the slides has to be Thunder Rapids Water Coaster as it's the first of its kind in North America and wow is it fun I've never ridden a slide like this before and I found it to be super fun as well as Wet and totally unique to anything I've ever experienced before as the technology that created this is totally rad and a great way to knock out those huge stair cases! The ground here can get super hot I mean super hot and that's coming from me someone who's always barefoot at waterparks so make sure you bring some sandals or something to keep your feet cool from the burning cement or just try to walk in the shade and water spots to keep them from burning! As anyone who visits waterparks will tell you coming to one can be a great workout as well as a rewarding time as your climbing lots of staircases and getting some swim action in if you choose to do that wile your inside their huge State Of Texas shaped wave pool. The waterpark opened a bit later than the park but it was all good as it was super hot by then and this was much needed the best part about this is that Gold Pass members can get into the Water Park 10 min early so that will definitely save you a bit of time and get you on a few more slides! Overall I really enjoyed my time here at the waterpark as all the slides were fun and I thought it was cool that their wave pool had its unique Texas shape to it as it made for some fun waves and splashes!
