Then they had to come back again to let us know they were also out of potato salad. We also noticed that many of the drink options were out of order. At checkout, I noticed an extra charge on the bill that wasn't explained upfront. When I asked about it, I was told it was an added fee to account for inflation instead of raising menu prices. I understand businesses needing to adjust pricing, but extra charges should be communicated ahead of time rather than being a surprise at checkout. While waiting for our food, I used the restroom and noticed there was no soap in either dispenser, and one dispenser was sitting broken on the counter. The back area you through was cluttered with boxes and open cleaning supplies. I was really hoping the food would turn things around. The price for the food was reasonable. My boyfriend enjoyed his meal, but my smoked chicken was a dry and overall I didn't find the food particularly memorable.

Among items was brisket and burnt ends, which is what we came for. Place order, pay and they take your name. There were two of us, the first name is called and only one was ready. No problem, I'll wait a minute, until I noticed they were doing orders linear i.e. one at a time.. Very small portions of pulled pork. Thick cut bacon was thinner than Oscar Meyer regular cut, burnt and coated in salt. No ice tea, either regular or sweet (see pic). BBQ sauce, we ordered one sweet and one spicy, were not marked. Ketchup, which was in squeeze bottles but not at table, was up at counter. Of the six containers, all were empty. Overall, the resturaunt was unkempt and atmosphere dingy. We've been here before, however a couple years ago hack when service and food was available and better. Unless someone, either owner or employees, start to take and an interest in food and customers, this won't be here mush longer.

When we first walked inside, the restaurant felt like a typical bar and grill. However, we asked to sit outside and were pleasantly surprised by how massive the patio area is. I am so glad we chose outdoor seating because the atmosphere back there was completely different and much cooler. Even though we did not play any games or fully explore the backyard area, it was impressive how much space this place has. They clearly host a lot of events and even offer volleyball, pickleball, and bags leagues. It all gives off a very relaxed, social, and fun vibe. Our waiter was also a highlight of the experience. Since it was our first time, we had a few questions about the menu, and he was incredibly helpful, friendly, and personable. The menu itself is large, so it took us a bit to decide what to order, but the prices were very reasonable and the food quality did not disappoint. I ordered the Woodsman Nachos ($14), and they were excellent. The portion size was huge and easily shareable. They were loaded with toppings like chili, jalapenos, lettuce, and multiple cheeses. I forgot to ask for no tomatoes, which was totally my fault, but they were chopped in larger pieces so it was easy enough to remove them. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food, and when I come here again, I think I will order the Nashville chicken sandwich because my friend ordered it and it looked delicious! Overall, this was a great first visit with good food, a fun atmosphere, and friendly service. It feels like the kind of place you could easily spend hours at, especially during warmer months.

There is ample lighting and the staff is welcoming and friendly. The food is BBQ and they have a little bit of everything to offer. That is great, but makes it hard to choose what you want! We certainly had that problem but ultimately were very happy with our meals. They pretty much cover all the bases as far as BBQ and the sides. The flavors were very tasty! Having one in Glen Ellyn won't have us running back to this location but that is only on account of circumstance.

These days the price hikes are expected, nothing new, and the day Nobel started to impose a penalty for paying via credit card (which initially they were ALSO taxing, and at a rate no less that was higher than Geneva's local tax percentage) was when I started only paying with cash. Hey, I like(d) their food and love(d) their employees, I'm willing to pay out the nose and jump through hoops for the experience. I'll admit, I went from eating there almost every day during Covid to maybe once a month, but when my family asks me where we should go out, Nobel is ALWAYS the first that comes to mind. Within the past week I've visiting Nobel for the last time. Prices notably up again, check. Many new employees, slower service, and uh oh, what's this, the food quality is in the toilet? Couple that with another service by Kelli and her terrible attitude, and things aren't looking great. Portions. Like everywhere else, as I said, at Nobel the prices are up and portions are down. My wife's favorite though, their lobster roll (formerly one of the best I've ever had in the United States, and I travel along the east coast quite a bit), has taken a hit harder than anything else on their menu from what I can ascertain. $31 now, which isn't new, it's been $31 since the beginning of 2026 from what I can remember, but $31 and it's probably 30% smaller than it used to be. For $31 you get a lobster roll that literally looks like a piece of Texas toast folded in half now, a 30% smaller portion of lobster, and if by some off chance you order the side salad, the side salad is also smaller. I can go on about all of the other cuts that are evident, but the $31 lobster roll is about the best display of the dismal direction Nobel House is headed. Sad... Nobel House, you'll be missed.

On my…read morevisit here, I had the opportunity to try two dishes off the shareables menu and was super impressed with both of them. Service was also quick and friendly throughout the entire meal. The Birria egg rolls were a bit on the smaller side but made a big impression with its preparation. I've never had birria wrapped in anything as crispy as the wonton wrapper this was wrapped in. The birria was flavorful while being tender and not being too salty. The white cheddar and chihuahua cheese added a small amount of extra saltiness and a bit more fat, which matched well with the chipotle aiola. The duck poutine was incredibly flavorful, while sitting on the edge of potentially being too bold. The fries were incredibly crispy though there was quite a bit of gravy on the dish and the white cheddar cheese curds did a great job of keeping the entire dish hot throughout the meal, while adding a little bit of extra flavor. The bacon and onion added some umami though it almost made the dish a bit too salty and the duck confit added a nice protein element. Overall a little pricey, but given the more unique menu and quality of both the flavors and textures, it's worth the premium. The food here is definitely memorable and in line with excellent options available in Geneva.
