Everytime I have to speak to the front office near the gate my blood pressure raises. They never…read moreanswer the phone. Which wouldn't normally annoy me, however today she specifically wrote her number down and told me to call as soon as I had updated info. 5 minutes after leaving I called over 9 times spanning 15/20 minutes. I went back in and called when I walked in to see if their phones were broke. They rang and no one got up or even looked at the phone. So basically just go in if you need anything. The admin office in the back is much better with customer service. They actually talk to you like a human. The nature trails here are lovely, beaches are gorgeous and the gate guards are so kind. People will throw your laundry out of the wash so beware of the selfish people that come. It's nice that there's so many cabins because it is easy to have last minute visitors make a reservation.

The temperature needs to be set to a certain number, you must put all linen in a provided bag, clean ur dishes and put them all away. All furniture needs to be put back exactly where it was note: if you want to use the pull out couch, you will need to move everything, or else you are trapped and have no easy access to the front door Incase of an emergency. The trash needs to be walked all the way to wherever the big dumpster is (never close) and if you like to shower with warm water you have 3-4 minutes of hot water. Lastly do not, have the microwave and tv on at the same time...everything will shut down, that includes the over head fan that makes a wonderful clicking noise ALL NIGHT LONG!! I'm surprised it hasn't fallen on someone yet! Will I satay here again? I'll need to pass and stay on base, it's not cheaper than the base hotel btw, the hotel has no pool but you have to pay $7 per person to go in anyways.

Great indoor venue…read more Tons of parking and lots of nearby restaurants to fuel up afterward. They have membership options which are well worth it if you live nearby and play frequently. This gives you half off court fees and open play fees. More importantly, it allows you to register earlier than non-members. I am not a member and I saw that the registration for open play filled up before it even became available for non-members. Luckily, there were cancellations so I was able to get a spot to try out the courts. The open play is pretty high level play. I would say that the average play was about 3.5. I enjoyed the competitive but good spirited players who I competed with. There are 6 courts and it is a four on-four off rotation with paddles stacked on the fence. The courts had lots of space for ATP and Ernie's. I also thought it was hilarious that most of the advertisements and sponsors on the walls were for physical therapists and senior homes. That's pickleball in a nutshell! Hopefully will get the chance to drop by again.

What differentiates PickleBallerz is that it is a community of players who are respectful and appreciative of one another while maintaining the competitive fun. There have been weddings, birthdays, memorials, fundraisers, baby showers, Toys for Tots events that build upon the sense of belonging to something bigger than PB.

This is a beautiful state park. The 7.5 mile trail is flat, spacious and beautiful. Unfortunately,…read morewe only had time to do 1.5 miles round trip. We turned around 30 minutes in walking with our Aussie dog. But we got to the end of the dam and it was beautiful! We hiked the first weekend of January so some parts was a little muddy. But it wasn't too bad. The only thing I wished this park had was running toilets. I believe it was only an outdoor porta potty. But then again, we didn't do the entire trail, so I might be wrong. Parking is $3/car for in-state (Maryland) cars and $5/car for out-of-state.

Saint Mary's Lake Loop was awesome! This is a 7.2 mile loop trail that goes around a smaller, murky…read morebut very pretty lake. The trail is well-worn, gravel, mud, dirt, lots of tree roots, moss and great little foot bridges here there. The path peeks out of the woods for a view of the lake only two or three times. There isn't really any shoreline but I'm not sure I'd swim or wade in this lake. Anyways, I'm reviewing the trail here, since I'm not much of a watercraft or fishing person. We did see kayaks and canoes out on the lake. The small parking lot is new, and we assume so is the fully equipped washroom/toilet building. Fresh water is available from a dispenser there. Nice! Zero shade for parked cars though, which I've always thought was weird in any car park. There are extra long and easy park spots for trailering. There's a small boat launch and dock. Locals suggested we use the trail between May and October, but to beware of the usual forest nasties like ticks, horseflies, mozzys and other biting critters and snakes. We saw lots of tiny frogs, turtles, birds and squirrels. We went on a Sunday and crossed paths with 3 cyclists, 4 pedestrians, 2 dogs and horse prints along the trail. Dogs are allowed on leash. The trail was super clean, no litter or dog poop along the way. Loved the hike! Took us about 2h45min to complete the loop. Bring your debit/credit card for the automated entry gate: $5 out of state, and $3 in state. Worth it!!!
