!!!!!!!!!!!!!UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I received a phone call…read morefrom the owner of Arizona Firearms yesterday evening 06/14/2021. He informed me that he had seen my post, recalled hearing about it in the store, and then nothing, so he thought it had been resolved by one of his managers. He read my post over the weekend and realized it had not been resolved to their standard of business operations. We had a great discussion and Arizona Firearms stepped up and completely resolved the issue and concern. It is unfortunate that it had to be resolved in the manner that it did, BUT all is safely mended. A SHOUT OUT to Arizona Firearms for completely resolving this matter! This is the kind of support that we as consumers expect from people we do business with. I expect to be returning to Arizona Firearms in the future to do more business with them. The store is stocked and they have ammunition for GREAT prices (I was just in there an hour ago). Thank you Arizona Firearms!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some information for you gun owners out there.... I purchased a used Tri-Star Raptor 20ga from Arizona Firearms in late 2019 for my two pre-teen boys. Due to COVID and fire/shooting bans in Arizona, I was unable to fire this shotgun until late 2020. When I did fire the shotgun, it immediately jammed. It jammed so bad that I needed to take it into my gunsmith. My gunsmith mentioned that the internal parts were damaged and needed to be sent to Tri-Star for repairs. I shipped the gun to Tri-Star for repairs. The first phone call I received from Tri-Star was from one of its Officers of the company. I was shocked! He informed me that he personally looked at the shotgun that I sent for repairs. The shotgun was manufactured in 2013 and still contained all of the original internal parts, and they had never been replaced. He estimated that it is possible that the gun had seen several thousand rounds through it. He immediately condemned the gun and mentioned that it should never have been resold into circulation as it could possibly injure the shooter. He then asked if he could reach out to Arizona Firearms on my behalf to discuss the condition of the gun and the sale. I received a phone call back from Tri-Star. I was informed that Arizona Firearms does not bench check or test fire used firearms they purchase. They are immediately placed on the rack for sale. The manager of Arizona Firearms also asked Tri-Star to ship the gun back to them so they could look at it! Tri-Star refused by stating they could not allow this gun back into circulation and that the phone call from the officer of the manufacturer should ease their suspicions. Tri-Star asked that I reach back out to the manager of Arizona Firearms to see if they could reimburse me in some way by either a store credit or FFL transfer of a new gun. After several messages left over 2 months, I never received any contact back. In lieu of this, I contacted Tri-Star. Tri-Star immediately rectified the issue by replacing the gun with a new model at a very fair price. I cannot express how impressed and appreciative I am of Tri-Star Arms and the company officer that assisted me with this. They went completely out of their way to help a customer feel satisfied and safe with their product. I highly recommend Tri-Star Arms, their guns and their customer support. Life-long customer ahead. Thank you! Scott Drews Scottsdale, AZ

Adj: Very fun sporting goods and more store!…read more We love coming to different Bass Pro Shops. They're all kind of different, and yet similar. They're all huge, just that some are even bigger than the average. This one in Mesa, AZ is one of the biggest, we were told by staff. We came while on a trip out to Phoenix area, and we were staying nearby. It was a warm, or rather sizzling hot September day. There's not really a fall in AZ is there? Winter would be fall to most in temps. Anyhow, coming into this store was perfect for getting out of the heat. We wandered immediately over to the huge aquarium. A very attractive feature that my kids just love to gravitate towards no matter how old they are. After looking at the fishes for awhile, we wandered up to the 2nd floor and looked at all the camping gears, not so much b/c we're the camping type, but b/c the products are fun to check out and we discovered some innovations in camping chairs, they have come a LONG way, so comfortable that some of them feel like couches now, or like a reclining chair, almost like a la-z-boy in your family room. After checking out the camping section, we looked at the "stuffed" animals, aka taxidermy wildlife. They are always menacing and "scary" to me. What can I say, I get squeamish around wild animals alive or dead, but of course better if they're already taken care of so I don't have to run for my life. In any case, we also checked out their archery dept which is so cool b/c you can shoot arrow and test out their bows here at their indoor range (smaller, but sufficient) before buying and get practice in with your own bow, iirc. Finally, we just walked around all over, including much of the 1st floor to check out their water sports and apparel depts, all filled with goodies and fun stuff galore. If only money is no object huh? lol. Customer service was friendly and let us browse and explore as we liked, but were there for any questions or directions.

Huge BPS store! This one is in Mesa. We were staying pretty close by, could've technically walked…read moreover had it not been so hot. Spent a couple of hours one afternoon. We love visiting BPS's, it's like going into the wilderness without the prep and mosquito bites. We're only semi-outdoors people of the paved or at least graveled/dirt-road variety, and not too much rugged terrain please for my getting-old bones. Pros: - It's for pros, hence the name, lots of specialty brands. - I feel like I'm a pro when I come here, only need to trick me. - My kids get such a kick out of this place, it's got all the cool gadgets to make camping and other outdoors adventures high-tech and fun - So many taxidermy animals, my wife hates seeing them and get squeamish, but the kids and I find them fun to look at. I personally think they're cool. Too bad I can't bring one home. - Some things on sale are pretty reasonably priced. - Huge place to walk around in, get your exercise done indoors in perfectly temp-controlled environment. - Clean bathrooms and the whole place is kept up nicely. Cons: - Some items are definitely full-retail prices - mostly hiking shoes, water sandals, didn't see much if any discounts for those. - Other items seem even higher than retail at other stores - grills, camping equipment, some knives (although I don't know prices for those as much). All in all, a great place to visit, stick to sale stuff and you can find some decent to good deal for your next outdoors adventure. Service from staff is good if you need help, just ask, otherwise, it's more a hands-off, self-serve, wander-as-you-like type of place which I prefer anyway.

Unfortunately, the customer service is the least of their concern. They act as if you're interrupting their day and they don't seem the least bit interested in helping anyone. While waiting for all my paperwork to be processed, I watched a couple of other customers walk in inquire about some gun parts. The obese fat guy behind the counter labored to get up and ask the customers again what they were looking for. Clearly the customers didn't know exactly and needed some guidance, but he didn't seem interested in helping them out or even educating them, so the customers walked out. Then the fat guy makes a snide comment about the potential customers and sits back down to look at his computer. This is the third time I've visited this store and the less than inviting atmosphere is the only thing consistent. Additionally, my son makes custom supressor sleeves and I asked him if he'd talked with the owner about potentially selling his product their since they don't seem to have any in the store. My son said he wouldn't bother because every time he visits their store, nobody says hello or even acknowledges him to ask if they can help him find anything. He said he's tried to strike up a conversation, but they seemed more annoyed that anyone is even in the store. I'm not sure how these guys make their money, but it's sad that I'm going to have to drive 30 minutes out of my way to use another FFL because of the bad experience.

Just saw they closed permanently... well…read more.. 2/22- We went in to get info on a gun and potentially purchase a new pistol. We previously have purchased firearms from AlphaDog, as well as had their gunsmith work on a family members gun. All of our previous visits we had great experiences. However when my mother and I went in, we weren't acknowledged at all. We thought it was no problem, the guys behind the counter seemed to be talking to other customers. So we looked through the gun case and waited for them to finish up. One finished helping a customer in front of us, and was fidgeting with things behind the counter. We thought maybe he thought we were just browsing, so we walked over to the register line. He looked at us and walked away to the other side of the room without saying anything. So we waited a bit longer, and stood by the register for a good 5 minutes while the other employee chatted with another guy about a shooting competition or something like that. We weren't in any rush, and didn't think it was a big deal. We figured they were just busy finishing up previous orders/interactions and didn't interrupt. But as we were waiting, two younger teenage boys walked into the store and were immediately greeted and asked if they'd like to see anything off the wall or in the case. The employee who had walked away then handed them a rifle and started to discuss the firearms with them. My mom and I looked at each other and were wondering what was going on. It was weird to feel like you were invisible in a place where you have spent money before, and were actively hoping to spend more. Eventually the gentlemen who was chatting about a competition looked over and saw we hadn't been helped and answered some questions. He was really nice, but we were so off put by the interaction that we decided to purchase my firearm from somewhere else. As we were leaving the other employee finally seemed to realize we existed and said "goodbye!" as we left, which just drove the nail a little bit deeper. I understand that women aren't typically taken seriously in this hobby, but to experience being completely ignored first hand was a shock I have never dealt with before. When we were with a man this was never a problem, so we are assuming that was the issue. Weird experience, definitely won't be returning.

I went in looking for a concealed carry holster and asked an employee for help, clearly explaining…read morewhat I needed and the exact firearm model. He handed me a holster and confidently said, "This will work." When I went to pay, he asked for my ID -- for a holster. That made absolutely no sense. I later checked Arizona law, and an ID is not required to purchase a holster. To make things worse, once I got outside and opened the package, the holster didn't even fit my firearm. Then I checked their return policy and found out they won't accept returns once the package is opened. So I was sold the wrong product, asked for ID unnecessarily, and then stuck with an item I can't return. If you're going to offer help, at least make sure you're giving customers the correct product. Very disappointing experience.
