We were both beginners but they treated us with care and made us feel super comfortable in the water and didn't make us do anything we weren't prepared for. Not a good work environment for women of color because it seems they want to be the only ones in my opinion, Analysia Acosta & Natasha Iverson need to be replaced for better management and a better work experience for anyone looking to join this "team". Goldfish impressed me with their free trial, cool complimentary swag bag that came with a great swim diaper and friendly staff. The facility is NICE. Very clean, multiple dressing rooms, large waiting area with books, an aquarium tank, craft table to keep kids busy while waiting. They also supply things you might have forgotten like hair ties, lotion, diapers. All of this was very impressive! They also have real showers with soap, shampoo and conditioner- it truly had almost every single thing we wanted. Here's where we had to make the choice to stay with Emler and not switch to goldfish. The lesson felt much more fast paced and like the children were there to have fun vs learn real skills. My 18 month old can swim underwater 10 seconds but they don't start actual swimming until I believe 2 years old. I did love how nice the instructor was but this felt a bit more like a fun mommy and me experience. I think this is a fun place to go if you want to get your child acquainted with being in water. We are looking for a bit more and had to pass on enrolling here.

Our…read morekid actually spent very little time swimming ("White" or beginner level) in the few months we were there, there's a constant rotation of very young instructors so it's hard for the kid to get used to a style or establish confidence and for the instructor to really know the kids and what they need to advance. This was especially frustrating for us because our child had a experience with an instructor elsewhere and we wanted someone consistent, and in fact were told we were being placed with someone more experienced. That's not what happened. Our kid actually swims worse now than when she started. Also, the shower and changing area is totally open but in a narrow corridor, there aren't really enough showers during peak times, and it's just really chaotic.

Overall I…read moream very happy with our experience and I would consider taking lessons with them again as my kid grows. They are professional, safe, and focused on feasible goals for my kid's age of familiarity and comfort in the water. The teachers were calm and encouraging and worked with the fact that sometimes my kid loved being in the water and other times didn't want to get in. They are very available for calls by phone to work with parents on makeups or questions. I didn't feel able to give a full 5 stars since there are some things the school could improve on. We often had a different instructor each week, which I admit was a bit hard for my kid feeling nervous in front of a new person (the pandemic and being isolated hasn't help with people skills meeting new teachers so I know this is exacerbated to this year). But even besides that, the different teachers often didn't know that my kid was in their class, we would walk up and they would act surprised, oh they are in my class too? I think there could be better communication between the instructors and to the instructors, and a better job encouraging the kids at the start of the lesson (e.g. give us your name at least!) Secondly the temperature of the pool at the Marriott location is inconsistent. Sometimes warm, other times cold. If this could be fixed it would be very helpful for the younger swimmers. I think these are things that could be easily improved on to make the experience even better. Overall I am happy!

We have an amazing training center right here in Killeen. Project Scuba teaches all ages (must be…read more10) for scuba. I am 72 years young and am a Certified Open Water Scuba Diver. Scuba lessons are very affordable and my sage advice from trying to learn on split fins that were too flimsy, a leaking mask that didn't fit my pointed little head, and a leaking snorkel that tried to drown me. DO NOT LISTEN TO ANYONE ELSE that is trying to help you save money. I immediately ordered my own fins, mask, and snorkel as soon as I knew what I needed. Please consult Amy...the best! Can't help but love her. Chris is awesome too. You will be taught individually (scuba), and they teach swimming for any age both individually or in small groups, all in a beautiful enclosed heated pool! And local! I was so thrilled and thankful to find them when I chose to pick up Scuba diving. If you like flying under water, following correct procedures for your own safety, willing to learn a new exciting sport working with amazing dive masters, somewhat physically able, can float easily and swim, love the water, able to pursue your new expensive habit, will always have a dive buddy, then this is the place to start and finish your Scuba Open Water Certification(s). They also have additional instructors (see website). I met three of them who certified me for both Dive 3 and 4...only 4 open water dives required, performing different skills proficiently each dive. If you are not able to perform all of them correctly, practice, get good at it, and retake the Dive you needed help with on another day. I was not charged extra for a retake). Go live, enjoy, scuba with new friends, travel when you can, laugh much, and have a blast experiencing your new sport!
