If you are like me, I TOTALLY depend on my laptop for "everything" and feel totally lost without it. Being a business owner, REALTOR(R) and State Designated Broker, with an active team of real estate agents communicating with me, in addition to the company business, I heavily rely on my laptop. And, nothing makes me feel quite as vulnerable as having problems with my laptop. In fact, it is almost like being ill, I have to be REALLY REALLY ill to visit a doctor, And, it is the same with my laptop, After suffering for weeks with an "ill" laptop, I finally went to "Doctor" Mike - and, in a very short period of time (minutes - not hours, or days or weeks), Mike was able to diagnose the problem. He was also very sensitive to my "handicap" and turned around the repair within hours. I was ready to purchase a new laptop. In fact, I had another "expert" tell me the "mother board" appeared to be bad and would need replacing. I told Mike that I could purchase another computer very quickly - especially if his repairs would be costly or if he felt my laptop (approx. 2.5 yrs old and running Windows 7) was outdated and needed replacing. Not only did Mike discourage me from purchasing a new laptop (that he could sell me), he also told me that my laptop was in good condition. I feel I received a very honest, up-front evaluation AND Mike, and his team, delivered on exactly what they told me they would do. Buyer Beware! My computer suddenly would not power up. I measured the supply voltages, one was slightly out of spec low. Unsure of the problem (foolish me), whether it was the supply or something overloading it, I took the computer to teamlogicIT on Val Vista in Mesa . The owner confirmed the power supply was bad, but also told me THE MOTHER BOARD WAS BAD AND HAD BLOWN CAPACITORS. He also gave me the sales pitch for a new computer, newer operating system, etc. For those of you who don't know, blown capacitors are a visible fault. You can clearly see them. A bad mother board is not economically repairable, and its replacement probably means a new processor, both of which are expensive. So I bought the new computer based SOLELY ON THE BAD MOTHER BOARD report--I didn't care about the rest of the sales pitch. I didn't need or want a new computer or operating system. When I got the old computer back, I found no blown caps--nothing visibly wrong at all. The mother board was--and still is--pristine. Uh-oh. I replaced the $30 power supply and the old computer works just fine. There was never anything wrong with the motherboard, and certainly no blown caps. I never needed the new computer, only a simple, cheap repair. I took teamlogicIT's owner to small claims court based on fraud. The owner told the judge that the sale was based on his convincing me that my computer was old and needed to be upgraded (Wrong. See above.) He also said, among other things, that it's impractical to measure voltage at the motherboard (Tell that to a beginner computer technician! There's this great big connector. It's the first thing you do!). He also said (under oath!) that the computer sale included a 24" monitor and accessories (Nope, it never did, they are not on the receipt, and I never got them, and never wanted them). There were many other "miss-statements". I lost the case; the judge instructed me on "buyer beware". I agree. Buyer beware is good advice. Especially at this place. I understand upsell and sales pitches, and I understand honest mistakes. But I don't understand completely fictitious diagnoses. Most customers of computer repair places don't know a capacitor from a Cadillac, and are completely at the mercy of someone claiming blown caps or other nonsense. I was easily able to figure out afterward that I'd been had. Most non-technical customers would never have a clue. There were many other issues, but you get the idea. I value integrity more than caveat emptor. Buyer beware indeed. But it would be better to do business elsewhere. Please note: there are other businesses in the TeamLogicIT franchises. I brought in my Sony VAIO Ultrabook on 8/14/14. The Ultrabook is a tablet/laptop, it's got a screen that you can use it like a tablet or pop the screen up to reveal a keyboard and then use it as a laptop. I really love this Ultrabook and since it's only 1-1/2 years old, I was disappointed when I started having problems with it. I couldn't get it to find my home Wifi even though this computer had been working on my home Wifi for over a year. No changes to the Wifi, so I had no idea what was going on. A knowledgeable computer friend suggested I do a total reset. Well, that sure didn't work. It completely locked me out of the computer; I couldn't even get past the login screen. I took it in to Team Logic and within a day, they had not only fixed the problem I took it in for, but also figured out why I couldn't get onto my home Wifi. My computer friend had literally looked at this computer for weeks and couldn't figure out what it took Team Logic ONE day to figure out and fix. AND their price was amazingly affordable.
