While killing some time on the Mag Mile, I was in need of a beverage. We walked by a poster of boba drinks and decided to stop in. Te'amo Boba Bar is located in the Shops at North Bridge on the Mag Mile in the food court on the 4th floor. What we didn't realize is that we would have to take an elevator to the 4th floor, then walk through Lao Sze Chuan to get there. It felt weird walking through the restaurant, but one of the employees guided us in the right direction. The instructions at the elevator said to cut through the restaurant so that's what we did lol. We were surprised to see that Te'amo was in a huge food court. They are a cashless establishment. They have two kiosks that you can order from. In addition to beverages, they also sell mochi donuts. I was a little bummed to see that the drink I had planned to order (Passion Mojito) wasn't on the menu. I ended up getting the Mango Green Tea at 75% sweetness. My cousin and her husband ordered a Matcha Latte with oat milk and crystal boba and a Strawberry Smoothie with crystal boba. My tea was a bit bitter. It was actually a little too strong on the tea flavor, but the mango flavor was nice and the sweetness level was just right. It was refreshing enough to quench my thirst, but I wasn't able to finish it because the bitterness of the tea became too much. read more

After wandering around the Magnificent Mile and exploring Streeterville one evening, we decided to take a look inside the Northbridge Mall. The mall itself was pretty empty with most businesses closed for the day. We took the escalator and made our way to the fourth floor and feeling a little thirsty, I made my way over to Te'amo Boba Bar. The bar itself is located in a food court on the fourth floor. At that time of the day, it was really quiet up there. I walked right up to the bar and started looking at the menu. The two employees behind the counter were very friendly and polite. They answered a few questions I had and made a couple of recommendations. In the end, I decided to order a Te' Amo Matcha Latte. The drink itself was beautifully presented in a unique container that needs to be opened from a tab on top like a can. I thought this was a great idea! In fact, I decided not to open it there in the food court and carried back to my hotel closed. The design of the container made this very convenient and I wasn't worried about spilling any as I walked back to the hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed the drink! The strength of Matcha was just right and the sweetness was perfect, not too sweet and overpowering. The drink was a good size for what I paid and it was refreshing and fulfilling. The best part about it was that because it was easily transported back to my hotel room, I was able to sit at my window and drink it while looking out on the city and river, while taking a relaxing break before going back out. I really enjoyed the drink, the concept and vibe of Te'Amo. Plus the name is a really cool play on words, meaning "I love you" in Spanish. It can also be interpreted as "love tea", at least to me. I thought about this drink long after leaving Chicago and would like to see one in Houston one day. Next time I'm in Chicago, I'll definitely stop by and try another Te'Amo drink! read more

So I'll start off with saying that the location was convenient and the ordering system was super fun. It is located on the top floor of a shopping center right off of Michigan Ave in the food court and they have a self-ordering station so you can do all the choosing and customizing yourself. When I went they were the busiest spot in the food court but not super busy by any means. I was really craving boba as it was a hot sunny day and boba just sounded so refreshing. I ordered one of the milk teas with boba and it took about 15-20 minutes which I wouldn't have been mad about if it was good. The tea was bitter and instead of tasting milky, it was just kinda watery and the boba didn't taste fresh. For the price and wait, I probably wouldn't go back. No one called me to tell me it was delayed...I had to walk to the location ( since the phone number listed on google and their website is not correct/valid) and ask for details about my order. I feel like there's not much of a boba scene in Chicago so when I saw Te'amo on a sweltering day, it was like my prayers have been answered. Our order: dalgona matcha and volcano milk tea. All light ice. Don't recall if we adjusted the sweetness but if we did, would have been 25%. I loved my dalgona matcha! Subtly sweet, just how I like my drinks, and extremely refreshing. The drink got colder as the ice melted further which was well needed once we were outdoors. The drink does require a good amount of stirring and shaking to infuse the matcha and milk for optimal flavor. My partner liked his volcano milk tea. They're a little short staffed! Fairly long line and a lot of orders. The baristas had a hard time juggling their duties and some of the drinks do take time to craft. As for access, can enter from mall (a bit of a maze that way) or you can enter from Lao Sze Chuan (just tell them you're going to Te'amo and they'll point the way, same owners so they don't mind). read more

July 2021 - COVID Review: Wow, I wish I lived closer or that a location would open up near me just because of their menu alone! There were SO many options that I was tempted to order multiple drinks... almost. I like that they have a list of their top/popular drinks for us to choose from. Like others have mentioned, it is a bit hard to find the location at first but now that you've read reviews, you know that it's located inside a mall food court! You can either make your way to the second floor from the mall entrance or you can enter through the Lao Sze Chuan restaurant doors and take the elevator up. Once you get off the elevator, you'll see the restaurant bar and the bartender will point you to the entrance/exit doors where the boba stand is. They also have other desserts too. However, my drink was not the best and this is my second time visiting a Te'amo. I got a plain Black Tea with cheese foam, and the tea tasted very burnt and bitter as if it were very oversteeped and from the bottom of the batch. The cheese foam was also quite flavorless and thin, unlike the thick and creamy foam I love!
