Whenever I fly in I stay at the Marriott because it's so close to the GWB. Debra at the front desk is always so helpful & friendly but this time the staff went over & above. I arrived early because my flight got in early and asked if I could check in, Carmen at the front desk said yes. Thank goodness....I was upstairs for 10 mins & heard a knock, it was Carmen. She asked if my room was fine & then said Happy Birthday and that I would be getting a gift. I was surprised because I never told her it was my birthday, she saw it on my license. I stepped out of my room to grab something to eat and when I returned...there was my gift and everyone at the front desk signed my card :) The Marriott staff made turning 50 a wonderful thing!!!! Free breakfast options for club level room were pretty diverse, though as with most buffets, you are better off getting down there early before things dry out. Wonderful hotel with comfortable beds, and guess what? There's a magical gym and spa connected to the hotel that is free to all Marriott hotel guests!! They have gender separated saunas and steam rooms, and two jacuzzis and a gorgeous pool with a glass ceiling! The hotel is lovely and has a great open spacious lobby with tasty cucumber water all the time, and pancetta, the hotel restaurant is super damn tasty. HIGHLY recommended!!! :) read more

We would hold our company conventions here yearly and some training here and there during early or late summer. So this review is all about the banqueting service and the events department. I stayed at this hotel last weekend for one night and loved it! I was in town for a show at the MetLife Stadium and this was only a quick 10 minute drive away. The hotel staff is very kind and accommodating. They were able to easily give me an early check in and a late check out. I didn't really get to check out the spa, pool, etc. but the room was superb! Super clean and comfortable. There were also tons of outlets which are always super helpful to have when traveling. Oh and there's a Starbucks in the hotel! I'm not sure if I'll be in that area again anytime soon, but if I am I would definitely stay at this hotel again. read more

Sheets had a legit hole in them, bed skirts had white stains on the bottom, desk chair was broken, and the billing was all messed up upon check out. Thought it was straightened out only to find out it wasn't on my statement. Parking is very convenient and there's a Starbucks on premise. BF has stayed here in the past for business. I tagged along this time and he mentioned how very accommodating the staff are. Our room was very spacious and clean. Though we did encounter some nasty towels with brownish spots... It looked like someone burned it with an iron but you never know. I appreciate that housekeeping respected my privacy when I put the do not disturb sign on the door. There were a few times I would run into them in the hall way and they were very nice asking if I needed any more towels, etc. There's a bus station on the side of the hotel that goes to the Port Authority if you want to go into NYC. Hotel provides a bus schedule on request. Only thing that was a hassle was that housekeeping called me early in the morning to ask if I had checked out yet so they could clean the room. I told her I wasn't suppose to check out till the the next day. I then get a call from the front desk claiming I was suppose to check out that day... I had to tell her again it wasn't suppose to be until the next day and she seemed to have an attitude about that. The BF did all the booking here so I thought maybe he made a mistake but he emailed me the confirmation email that he did book correctly. At that point it felt like they wanted us out. No complaints about this hotel! Comes with everything you need in a hotel (except for a starbucks).. They brew starbucks coffee, but no real starbucks to have your morning fix. The rooms are clean, spacious, and very modern. Can't say much about it other than that. The service was excpetional, EXCEPT for this lady who checked us in. Would a smile kill you?? I swear she hated us, except we just met her. At the end of my trip I asked her if there was a mailbox around so I can send a postcard, and it was as if I asked her to walk to the post office for me and hand deliver my postcard. This is a beautiful property. The rooms are very updated and modern, beds are comfortable and the showers are very nice. Room service was quick, and the bar downstairs was a relaxed place to get a drink. Elevators are a little bit slow but not so much that they would make you late for something. The front desk staff is incredibly friendly and greeted me the moment I walked in. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that the housekeeping came and knocked on my door before 8am to find out if I was gone yet. I think at a hotel of this caliber, they would be more sensitive to the fact that you may still be sleeping at that time. I was up and getting ready to leave, but I was put off by their lack of attention to who had actually checked out. Other than that it was a wonderful stay and definitely recommend to others. My sisters and I spent the weekend here in order to attend a family funeral. The entire staff were incredibly kind. From the check-in experience, to our server, Jon in the Pancetta lounge, to the assistants in the M lounge, we were treated truly like welcomed guests. Special shout out to Debra who went above and beyond to express condolences in a most generous manner. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. My husband and I were married here 34 years ago when it was the Lowe's Glenpointe Hotel. Marriott has perfected the property with upgrades, and the hiring of a well-trained, professional staff. I came to this Marriott for a 65th birthday party, and please note that this is just a review of the Marriott catering and venue. The party was great by the way. Also note that I rate venues like this as if it were a wedding. This event took place in the grand ballroom, and it was nice, but calling it grand is a stretch. I appreciate the ambiance of a place, and this place lacks it when compared to other places in the area. It has some beautiful chandeliers, but that is really the limit of the decor. Everything else is totally up to the party to bring. The menu for this party was (1) a lobster bisque ravioli, (2) salad with mixed greens, heart of palm, avocado, and balsamic vinegar dressing get, (3) choice of salmon or filet mignon, (4) Limoncello and birthday cake. There was also an open bar. The open bar was nice, but it's hard to judge these at any event because you don't know what package the party got. I assume this was a mid grade package, and it was always stocked. It was on a cheap cart though, which adds no value in the decor category. The bartenders were pretty good and served with a smile. I admittedly didn't challenge them with anything complex though. The one bartender did make a pretty good Malibu bay breeze though, which should get me lucky later tonight. The lobster bisque ravioli was banging, but proportioned for a sorority girl who was just called fat. The salad was not all that exciting. That's my normal take on salads though. You have you go an extra mile to wow me with a salad. Speaking of wowing, I got the salmon, which was anything but wowing. I should have guessed that when the waiter didn't know if it was wild or farm raised. This is inexcusable for a Marriott. Especially when they didn't even offer to find out; this has possible allergy ramifications, so I suggest that the staff be prepared better and trained to respond. The salmon was a sliver of meat that was obviously grilled. The skin was removed, and it wasn't as good as most places. The salmon was also unseasoned and bland. I also had the filet, which was good, but also unseasoned. I think that the chef was trained by Bloomsburg, and doesn't know what salt is. The staff didn't ask how anyone wanted their fillet done. This was a misfortune to others, but benefit for me. My girlfriend is from South America, and I think it's a cultural thing, because her family doesn't like beef unless it's cooked to the consistency of leather. She ate the outside brown parts, and I got the 90% that was remaining. It was a larger fillet. I like beef medium rare, but this fillet was extremely rare. You could still hear moeing. If I end up with a tape worm, I know why. The staff should be trained better to ask, and the chef should prepare it to medium rare when in doubt. The Limoncello was fantastic, I would highly recommend it. It's a great way to clean the pallet before cake. The service here was a little shocking. I'm sure that this was not a cheap party, and I would have been upset if I paid for and saw a woman in a plaid shirt standing by the bar during a 30 minute belly dancing show. The party was attended with suits and dresses; the plaid stood out like a Tiawana crack addict hooker at a funeral. I have no issue with staff being allowed to watch something like this, so long as they are properly dressed. The server at our table may have had an off night, but he was rather cold and very unhappy the entire evening. He stood in the shadows most of the night, and I had to constantly ask for my water glass to be filled. At one point I just gave up. It may just be his personality, but I believe that service at a place like this should come with nothing but attention to detail and a smile. In the end, this is an average place, but some things need major improvement. read more

Old and badly needs updating. I did notice they're upgrading the lounge or one of their restaurants downstairs. They should really focus on updating the rooms. First things, get rid of the popcorn ceilings and old rugs. I guess their target is business meetings as they have many large halls to host various events. Not a good choice for a relaxing weekend getaways or restful vacation. One good thing is it's close to the highway and shopping but you do pay for it. read more

Booked 6 night stay here, cancelled well in advance explained that my course was canceled and I was also worried about the storm, all flights were either delayed or canceled the week before March 18th. I Was told they never received my cancellation and to give them the name of who I canceled with. Long story short I found the email confirmation stating I canceled but they still charged me $1,500. read more

Good food especially for a hotel restaurant. If you don't feel like trekking out I would recommend Pancetta. My favorite is the Salomon, the sauce is yummy Not sure if it's healthy but it is delicious. The appetizers are just ok but most of the entrees are pretty good. read more

Are you kidding me Marriott?! I will never and I mean never stay here ever again after what just happened. I checked in this past Saturday & my tv doesn't work, I called down to the front desk three times. They sent up a mechanic who pulled out the entire system, made a complete mess and left it! The next morning I asked to change rooms to have a television that actually worked. The front desk assured me my room would be changed and they actually changed me to a suite! I explained i would be here for work and because i wasn't sure how long i was going to stay i didn't want to have to keep changing rooms they ASSURED me I wouldn't have to change rooms again. Today I extended my stay another night and I was told I needed to move out of my room to a different room because there was a bride who booked this room? Excuse me? 1. You put me in this room because you said I wouldn't have to change rooms and 2. ITS TUESDAY! Who is getting married on a Tuesday?! I'm beyond mad the hotel itself is dingy and nothing works!!!!!! I STAY AT MARRIOTTS ALL OVER THE WORLD AND THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER RECIEVED!!!!! read more

I would like to give you 3, but same issues as before. Well, I was just starting to believe that my 2nd stay here was going to be bad as the last; however, I stand corrected. (I did not share my previous stay with the Teaneck Marriott) Upon arrival I was greeted promptly, though my room wasn't ready yet (it was before the 4pm check-in time), I said I would take 2 queens instead of a king. I was given a room on the 5th floor. When I went into the room the first thing that jumped out was dirty glass (like sitting there for 1 month with dry milk in it dirty), dirty desk, and a most likely washed but tarnished looking comforter (-2 redemption pts). I was in a rush to start working so I didn't call to complain. I did receive a call form the manager who just checked me in asking how the room was (+1 for redemption points), I told him it was dirty, but I was on a business call and would call back. Once I got in touch with the check-in manager (Roger might be his name) and after a couple minutes he offered to move my room, and wanted me to inspect the new room first with him (+1 redemption pt); I did and was moved to a higher level room, much cleaner on the 12th floor. Only negative to this room is the loud chair squeaking sound (-1 redemption pt) which I had last time I stayed on 12th floor (only not as bad), and the bathroom needs an update. (worked for 4 hrs then went to concierge club) I was coming back from the concierge club (alcoholic drinks are not free in there, -1 redemption pt); and was stopped by Christian (new director of services). Let me pause and explain that this Marriott has hired a new service company to address the old problems (+1 redemption pt.). I spoke with him for a few minutes (he was quite genuine), and let me know that the hotel would be 'doing something for me' for the trouble. I said it was not necessary, but he insisted. Before I even got a chance to close the door, the phone rings and it is the service manager Christian, offering me a free dinner at the on-site restaurant (+2 redemption points). I am off to dinner, but hope to be able to report back something about the service that was better than last time.... Nope it's not... I ended up leaving the hotel, and won't be back read more

I was considering the Teaneck Marriott for a wedding, but here's what happened- I called to inquire If I can come in and take a look and they set me up with Patrice who scheduled an appointment for us to come in. She was great during the meeting showed us around and told us she will email us with Pricing. 2 weeks went by so I sent her a follow up email and I didn't receive an email. 2 weeks later I called and left a message still no reply. I sent another follow up email (checked my spam folder too) but still no reply. I called again a week later and spoke to someone else who assured me Patrice would call me back. It's been 3 weeks and I'm done reaching out. Very unprofessional and I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

There are a few things I really like about this hotel. The location is convenient, and the rooms are clean with HDTV's. Some Marriott locations still have ancient tube TV's. There are a few things I don't particularly care for. The hotel doesn't have its own gym, so you have to use a gym located in the same building. While the gym has more equipment than a typical Marriott gym, its dirty, the equipment is old, and its filled with old people who smell. The signage in this hotel is awful. Good luck trying to figure out where the gym is or where the concierge lounge is without asking someone. The Internet is slow and wireless is not available in a lot of spots. Overall, not an awful property but there is room for improvement. read more

So, just like I stated in my previous review if we couldn't get a room in the city this year we were going to stay at the Glenpointe Marriott for our annual trek to the city for the Christmas season. We were able to find a room in Brooklyn, but our party was larger this year and many of did not want to drive in the city. It worked out because we drove one car into Manhattan and we were able to leave the other cars at the hotel for free. I wanted to stay in the city because it would have afforded us the opportunity to rest up a little and give us the chances to do a few more things, but I had no issue with staying at Glenpointe since I was pleased with my stay last year. The rooms were spacious. I don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that we always stay on the corner end, and get double beds, but man those rooms are spacious. The place looks fantastic after the renovations. read more

We stayed at the Teaneck Marriott while visiting New York City this weekend. My father in law booked two separate rooms and is a member of the Marriott rewards program. When we checked in the woman told us that since my father in law was a gold level member that she would include by husband and myself on the elite member card so that we could all enjoy breakfast together. We were very excited to have that convenience factor! On Saturday morning we had no problem doing this but when we went to have breakfast this morning (Sunday), the man working the table would not let us in. We explained what we had been told and he still refused to let us in. We had to go elsewhere to get breakfast. That experience was highly disappointing and wasn't good service. The rooms are updated and are nice, the bathrooms are beautiful. Overall, the hotel is great but some staff members could do better in the service department. Though I will say that the two women working the front desk when we checked in on Friday evening were welcoming, helpful, and willing to answer any questions we had. read more

I stayed here two nights for a conference nearby. For a Marriott I would say it felt quite upscale. The lobby was modern and spacious, the restaurant very classy. The check in staff was super friendly and let me get into my room at 8am! The room was clean and well appointed. I did complain about a noisy air conditioner and they said they'd fix it but no one left a note or a message with any follow up. Not a huge deal since I didn't stay long. I recently stayed here for the first time in a very long time (hard to believe it had been 12 years) and I was surprised how little seemed to change from what I remembered. Fortunately they have flat screens now and still have the nice gym attached. The restaurant and lounge were both pretty nice and I was surprised they had offerings such as gluten-free pasta. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly. There's not a whole lot of other restaurant choices within walking distance, but there's usually plenty of "taxis" waiting out front or that the front desk can call to take you to downtown Teaneck or other places. I use the term taxis but they're not cabs like you think of with regular meters but usually someone in a sedan that figures what a ride should cost. If you have any doubts ask before you go. For a ride to and from downtown Teaneck it was $10 each way. read more

We have been coming here for 16 years and this trip was the most didappointing! I specifically reserved a room with 2 queen beds for my husband 15 yr old son and myself. We ended up with 1 bed for all 3 of us. When I called the desk to ask for an extra blanket I was told in a rude way "We have no blankets" . In the entire hotel, not one blanket when we were not even in the type of room we reserved? Unacceptable customer experience! read more

I'm a flight crew member that does a lot of traveling. I stay at more hotels than I can name and meet many employees. Carmen at the front desk is the best that I have met yet!!! She went above and beyond at every aspect of her job. Carmen made me feel like a part of her family and it turned an ordinary trip into a very memorable one. We've been staying at this hotel for the past 4 years for trade shows. Overall it is comfortable and the rooms are clean. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful - that is one nice thing about this place. If you have a problem they get it taken care of right away. On the down side, the rooms are starting to look worn, and you have to pay for internet now - wired in the rooms. The restaurant is always very slow and the food is average at best. It has been this way every time we go. The wait staff is not attentive and often forget to bring you what you ask for. The breakfast buffet is OK - nothing special. Parking is free and plentiful and the hotel is right off of the turnpike - very easy to get to. read more

VERY disappointed by this hotel. I'm a gold member at Marriott Bonvoy, so I've stayed in quite a few Marriots and know this type of hotels pretty well. Why I gave 1 star (I would have chosen 0 if I could): - If you're taking this hotel because of the 167 bus, then I would recommend staying downtown instead. The bus is packed almost every time (meaning you may need to stand during the ride which I found quite dangerous in case of an accident), it's NEVER on time due to the traffic and each single ride would cost you $4.50 (Metrocard does not work in this bus). And the boarding at Port Authority is quite a mess (in my opinion). - When we arrived, they told us that the room was not ready. Fair enough, it was too early, but they told me they would call me when it would be the case, I gave them my phone number and we headed downtown. Came back at 9:00PM, no calls and the front desk didn't say anything. They even did not move our luggage to the room. Ok I said, maybe they forgot. - First time we used the shower, we noticed there was some hair in there. When we looked at the room itself, we could see that it was not super clean, some dust could be found on the bed stands, on the phone, TV, etc. Can do better for a renowned hotel such as Marriott. - First night was ok. Second night, we were trying to sleep after a long day, the housekeeping staff decided to clean the room next door at about 10:00PM. They were talking so loud that I had to wake up to tell them to stop talking. First time I have to do that after 10 years traveling. Same night, we heard someone yelling in the other room next door, isolation between rooms is clearly not their strength). - On our third day, we came back and tried to get in our room, the key did not work. We go downstairs to ask the front desk and they tell us that the room is not this one but the one at the lower floor!!! NO ONE CALLED US to tell us that. We had to transfer our stuff ourselves to the other room. This is also a first! - Tried to print something at the business center, the computer did not work. Try to go to their M lounge, the computer there did not work either. Come on, you really need to change management or keep up with your standards. - Staff working at the reception desk need to be more attentive and smile a bit more as well, it's like they're annoyed whenever you check in or ask them a question! Come on guys! When you pay that much to stay in a hotel, you are expecting a good level of service, this is far from it. WILL NEVER GO BACK there and would NOT recommend it to anyone. read more
