VERY disappointed by this hotel. I'm a gold member at Marriott Bonvoy, so I've stayed in quite a few Marriots and know this type of hotels pretty well. Why I gave 1 star (I would have chosen 0 if I could): - If you're taking this hotel because of the 167 bus, then I would recommend staying downtown instead. The bus is packed almost every time (meaning you may need to stand during the ride which I found quite dangerous in case of an accident), it's NEVER on time due to the traffic and each single ride would cost you $4.50 (Metrocard does not work in this bus). And the boarding at Port Authority is quite a mess (in my opinion). - When we arrived, they told us that the room was not ready. Fair enough, it was too early, but they told me they would call me when it would be the case, I gave them my phone number and we headed downtown. Came back at 9:00PM, no calls and the front desk didn't say anything. They even did not move our luggage to the room. Ok I said, maybe they forgot. - First time we used the shower, we noticed there was some hair in there. When we looked at the room itself, we could see that it was not super clean, some dust could be found on the bed stands, on the phone, TV, etc. Can do better for a renowned hotel such as Marriott. - First night was ok. Second night, we were trying to sleep after a long day, the housekeeping staff decided to clean the room next door at about 10:00PM. They were talking so loud that I had to wake up to tell them to stop talking. First time I have to do that after 10 years traveling. Same night, we heard someone yelling in the other room next door, isolation between rooms is clearly not their strength). - On our third day, we came back and tried to get in our room, the key did not work. We go downstairs to ask the front desk and they tell us that the room is not this one but the one at the lower floor!!! NO ONE CALLED US to tell us that. We had to transfer our stuff ourselves to the other room. This is also a first! - Tried to print something at the business center, the computer did not work. Try to go to their M lounge, the computer there did not work either. Come on, you really need to change management or keep up with your standards. - Staff working at the reception desk need to be more attentive and smile a bit more as well, it's like they're annoyed whenever you check in or ask them a question! Come on guys! When you pay that much to stay in a hotel, you are expecting a good level of service, this is far from it. WILL NEVER GO BACK there and would NOT recommend it to anyone. read more

This hotel has always been our go-to place to stay when we visit relatives in NJ and want to go into the city. However, after this trip I am hesitant to EVER stay there again - it was just an AWFUL experience! The first night was uneventful, but since we didn't get to the room until midnight we were starving for breakfast the next morning. We went to the hotel restaurant and were greeting with HORRIBLE service coupled with sub-par/overpriced food. Seriously, if you like paying $40 for eggs and pancakes that take over 45 MINUTES to serve - then this is the place to go! My eggs were both simultaneously runny and rubbery. My stack of three small pancakes was reduced to two, when the top pancake was hard and felt like it had been sitting out for hours. We had to ask for drinks and beg for jelly for our toast (to which we were given two packets for the entire table). My husband had asked for well-done bacon, but the pieces on his plate were still oinking they were so rare. My sister-in-law had only ordered fruit and granola, so the fact that it took 45 minutes was completely vexing. After about a half an hour of seeing other people be seated, eat, and leave, we asked the manager if our food was ever coming - to which he responded that he'd speak to the kitchen staff - but offered nothing complimentary or an apology for the awful experience. After our weak breakfast, we took the bus into the city and had an enjoyable day - but it was VERY long. We took in a Broadway show (Book of Mormon) and returned home on the bus. Because there were four of us sharing a room, my brother went to the lobby bathroom while me, my husband, my sister-in-law, and a random guy got into the elevator to go up to our room. After about thirty seconds, our elevator lurched to a stop and we realized we were trapped. We rang the emergency bell, pressed the phone button - with no response. After about five minutes, I managed to call the front desk and tell them that we were trapped (thank goodness my cell phone worked!). Being almost 8 months pregnant, I started to freak out that I was going to become one of those women who gives birth in an elevator. My brother, Adam, was on the outside and he communicated to us what was happening -- no one on the hotel staff made any effort to contact us via the elevator phone. Adam told us that the staff didn't really know what to do - they didn't want to call the elevator operator because he was "over an hour away" - meanwhile it was VERY hot inside the tiny elevator and we were all starting to panic. At first they thought we were on the 15th floor - we shouted to them that we weren't - we were trapped somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd. Then we could hear someone, some security guard, pushing buttons and talking to someone on the phone. This guard had NO IDEA what he was doing and we all started to think that we would be there forever. Finally, after about an hour, they said they were going to call the fire department. They arrived about 15 minutes later and after 90 minutes of being trapped, they got us out. They were unapologetic and just asked us what room we were in. When we got our bill, we saw that they had taken one night's stay off the room bill (even though there were THREE of us stuck in that elevator). The next morning, the toilet in our bathroom overflowed. I had to call down to the front desk and front office about 7 times before they changed our room. In that time, an engineer came to unclog the toilet, but left all the pungent water on the flooded bathroom. About a half an hour later another guy came to clean up the water. It smelled awful and made us all gag. When they finally moved our room, THAT toilet overflowed! Seriously, no one was taking any big poops or anything - their plumbing just SUCKS! The engineer had to come to our new room and we had to endure the whole process AGAIN! When my husband went to use the iron in the room, it leaked smelly, off-colored fluid all over his new suit. All in all, this was one of the WORST hotel experiences I've ever had - I cannot believe the amount of money we spent staying here and am horrified at the blase, unapologetic attitude from the staff. I've never felt so insignificant or overlooked - these people need a HUGE lesson in customer service. Due to this treatment and lack of care, I do NOT think we'll be giving them our business again - and if you're wise, you'll look to stay elsewhere! read more

Had an amazing stay this weekend! Could not have asked for more polite or helpful staff! The restaurants there are great: delicious food and reasonable prices. The rooms are very clean and the room service people are very professional! Hotel rooms are quiet and you can control the temperature yourself. Coffee maker and refrigerator in the room and they give you small bottles of water everyday. Huge flatscreen tv that you can watch Netflix on! Multiple outlets available for plugging all of your electronics in. Iron and hairdryer provided along with shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash, hand wash and a bar of soap. Only complaint I had was the pillows are way too soft and stacking them doesn't help so bring your own pillows from home. Everything else was great! Free parking on site, Starbucks inside the hotel and NYC is about 20 minutes away! read more

I'm reviewing the Grille at glenpointe, specifically their twilight special. 3 course diiner for $11. It's billed as 2 for $22, but you can go alone for $11. They change their menu seasonally. Summer menu: chop salad, ceasar, or soup to start. We had a nice cream of mushroom. Entrees: panko chicken breast, Talapia, samon, rigatoni w/ roasted vegggies, Braised short ribs. Dessert: creme brulee, watermelon & mint or starwberry mousse. Good bread also. Attentive waite staff. Coffee A bargain for $11. Also wine specials for $5, Food is good, atmosphere nice. The staff was very courteous and accommodating, especially as we booked our stay last minute on a holiday. Room service was hearty and delicious. The rooms were very trendy and homely. I booked a double room for May 23rd for a Saturday night stay. I called on May 20th in order to ensure and confirm my room and to check if we are allowed to check-in earlier as it was the EDC weekend. Checkin was around 4pm and checkout was 12pm so they were NOT able to accommodate which was fine. I informed the person directly at the hotel that I would be checking in around midnight and to not let go of my room. She confirmed my room and I thought everything was fine. I checked in on May 24th around midnight as I was tired with my full party of 5 including myself. Lo and behold, the room was not available!! The front desk said I never had a reservation there to begin with. They informed me due to third party confirmations they could not confirm. I even told them I called 3 days in advance to let one of their staff know, and they said that was too in advance for them to accommodate! What kind of business do they run? I even asked them how much time in advance is good for them, 5 minutes??! I told them about the situation prior, made changes and notified them properly, and was not complied with the request even though it is their own error! Very incompetent staff always shifting blame to "third parties." I spoke to the General Manager, Keith about this matter and he has no clue as in how his staff took confirmations either. My direct room confirmation with them 3 days prior for a double room fell through. He said since it was through Hotels.com that it's on their end since they did not receive it. Which is strange since I called 3 days prior to ensure this doesn't happen as I have bad luck with hotel accommodations and confirmed with one of their staff on May 20th at 6:14pm with a woman. I spoke with Hotels.com that even gave me their confirmation number that this hotel gave them. I spoke to Keith who has the worst attitude that keeps asking in a demanding way, "well, what DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT?" Customer service isn't about attitude or being flippant. He even lied about not having the recommendation as per usual protocol it happens there. So what if it happens you book 300 reservations or so a day? What if 250/300 are garbage service as it happens mine were? I don't think they'll retain loyal clients with such demeanor and service. He said the reservation DID NOT guarantee the room preference. So what the hell does the room reservation is for? For me to sleep in their lobby and check-in for a random room if there is even any? read more

I was scheduled here for training for work all the way from NC and I was told they were full and I couldn't stay here. After about 5 calls in a few weeks time. And talking to the desk manager, Ellenor, I was told I would have to stay somewhere else. I was disappointed because everyone I work with would be staying here and I was having to stay in Saddlebrook and commuting back and forth all week... After day two, one of my co workers suggested that I talk to Victoria Pindrik, another desk manager. Boy, what a difference! Victoria met me at the desk with a BIG smile and just said, "let's see if we can't get you in here"... 5 minutes later I was on my way to Saddlebrook, new room key in hand to my Teaneck room. The rooms are clean, staff extremely friendly my only complaints are that when we got there after a long flight with a new born baby there was no valet or Bell man available. I've been a Marriott platinum member for several years and there was no Platinum check in. Lastly, I was here for an event and there was no parking. The hotel parking was all taken so I had to park 2 blocks away. There was a sign that said Marriott guest only but no one to police or. Otherwise I would give 5 stars. read more

I've certainly stayed at much better Marriotts. It only gets 3 stars because most of the hotel staff is good and it's a large property with decent amenities. The rooms are old however, and the restaurant staff were just plain bad. I had to wait forever to be served and the dishes were dirty. The bar served me a beer and the glasses smelled gross, and the waitress didn't even offer to comp my beer. Service just generally lacks and the rooms need upgrading. read more

Excellent hotel. The rooms were large and clean. Two large queen size beds. Nice stall shower with big towels. Easy quick check in and our room was ready early for us to check in. A lot of free self parking. We had lunch at the Restaurant and service and food was good and priced reasonably. There is a Starbucks on premise. read more

This Marriott was beautiful very comfortable it had three restaurants to chose from and the M club was nice and had a great selection for breakfast. They had snack and drinks available 24 hours . The room was beautiful clean and very comfortable. When My Daughter and I checked in after a bad experience at a different hotel it was like heaven to open our room and see such comfort . They have the best mushroom soup ever. The shrimp cocktail isn't worth the $15, yú only get four measly shrimp. The staff is helpful and friendly, anytime I needed something the front desk was quick to assist. The housekeeping lady was very sweet. We needed a place to stay this past Friday night around 11 PM when our car blew a tire on the highway. We "rolled" into the parking lot and proceeded into the lobby hoping to get a room for the night. The front desk person named Nora was very pleasant, understanding and helpful. I couldn't have asked for someone more accommodating! We got to our room and it was immaculate and comfortable. The next day we had a wonderful breakfast buffet and very nice servers. Our car was not finished by the checkout time. I called the front desk and once again they were super understanding of our situation. They let us stay in the room until we could get a loaner car and get on our way! We were in a stressful situation but our unplanned stay at this Marriott was excellent! read more

I've been staying here on business for the last eleven years. Throughout the years it started to get pretty run down and then it was under construction for complete renovation for a while. The renovation is now complete. The towels and bedding are new, and the hotel has a fresh new look. The lobby, restaurant and bar all have a new spacious clean feel. I'm really impressed with this new makeover. It seems like a whole new hotel. Way better than before. read more

I also parked there for free and caught the transit bus ( which is soooo coincidently located smack dab on the side of the hotel and runs every 30 mins. Even on the holidays) that goes into the city right smack dab into Times Square. And saved on parking and even caught a show. It is worth every penny!! I really recommend you try it. read more

I've never stayed at the Mariott in Teaneck, I've only attended the MS luncheon there a couple of times, each time was so much fun though. Seating was in a large ballroom with huge crystal chandeliers and a long runway running down the majority of the middle of the room. In another room next door, all of the raffles were held where people could put in tickets for the prizes. Food they served was pretty tasty, a standard salad was served as a starter, followed by a small portion of penne alla vodka and then a chicken dish with sauteed spinach and mashed potatoes. Everything was seasoned very well and cooked perfectly, which is something you would not expect when food is being mass produced. Needless to say a nice time was had by all and I will definitely be back! read more

I recommend the Pancetta restaurant inside the Marriott at Glenpointe. There was a large selection of entrees to choose from, food was very tasty and service was prompt and efficient. I had trouble deciding on what to order and our server, Keith, was more than helpful. He also was very knowledgeable about the wine list. He listened to what I was searching for and was able to recommend the perfect wine! On top of all of that he was personable and very proud of the restaurant. That speaks volumes to patrons when the staff in knowledgeable and present. The only criticism is that the menu and wine list are not posted on the website. I wanted to search for the wine that I had ordered, but sadly could not. Kudos to Keith! He needs to be recognized for his great service and work ethic. I will definitely eat at Pancetta when we return to Engelwood. read more

I am very critical of hotels. I harshly judge staff, accommodations and most of cleanliness. This hotel passed with flying colors. VERY clean. The staff was friendly and the rooms were modern and sleek. All rooms are equipped with plenty of charing docs. Room service goes until 11:00 and the food is very good. Went here for a business trip and the hotel was SUPER clean and friendly staff! Amazing food & everyone was so welcoming with smiles. The hotel is very big & up to date! My only complaint is that their isn't wifi in the rooms :( you have to pay for it. It's free downstairs in the lobby but if you want it in your room you have to pay. It wasn't a hue deal, I've just never stayed at a hotel where I had to pay for it. But besides this it was extremely nice & I would definitely recommend & stay here again! :) read more

I have been coming to this area for the last 30 years, used to stay at what was the Sheraton then, now it is a Hilton and everything in the surrounding area, but the Teaneck Marriott has always been the best hotel in the region hands down. After a long flight, just getting in to my clean room, it has the feeling of arriving to my home away from home, plus their concierge lounge is one of the best with great, attentive staff. The restaurant here is underrated. When you walk in the lobby, it's immediately on the right. Not a ton of restaurants nearby so went a couple of times: once for lunch, once for dinner. Mostly business folks for lunch and mostly couples for dinner. Service is decent. And food was actually pretty good. I had low expectations. Shared some apps including caprese salad, a pasta, and a chicken entree. The entrees are pretty big. read more

We were there for the Guild Weekend August 3-7th. The hotel has been redecorated, and looked great in all areas, especially the rooms. All the staff greeted you with a smile, and took care of you as if you came every week. The hotel has free parking a real plus, also you can easily reach the hotel by bus from NYC Port Authority, which one of group used. The lights by the bed were on in our room, and the A/C had already cooled the room down, which made the room very welcoming. They have a chaise lounge in place of chairs by the window which made it so much more comfortable to read or watch television. Everything in the room was fresh, and very clean especially the bathroom. We remembered how good the restaurant had been last year - so we had an early lunch. The food and service were just as good - we all wished we could stay longer just for the meals. If I lived in the area I would come for Sunday Brunch. I had a perfect soft waffle ( my favorite), and they had not just hot syrup, but soft butter for the waffle ( those small ice cold packs of butter never melt, before your waffle has gone cold). I would have had two, but I had a large bowl of seasonal fruit instead (yummy). We felt we had been away for a week this hotel is a true treat - Clean , Comfortable, Close too NYC, and very reasonable prices for everything. read more
