Kristyn W. is a hair fairy I don't know how she did it and how she continues to make magic happen but her instagram color correction photos that brought me in didn't leave me disappointed when I left. I have been struggling with being a blonde since middle school when my hair started changing from blonde to brown. I would always end up with red and orange undertones and my hair was fried because it never wanted to lift. Back then there was no such thing as toner (or people didn't know about it) and the products were harsh. Kristyn W. has mastered the art of blondes, truly. And if you come in and show her what you want she gets you there. I was in her chair for well over six hours (she charged flat fee not by the hour) and it was worth every second. She also has an amazing personality but doesn't over talk as some stylists do. She better not go anywhere because I don't know what I would do if I lost her. I literally drive from Vegas out here to see her. Jennifer is an extension goddess. She is fast, the extensions aren't too tight, not too loose, she's friendly and fun and she knows what she's doing. You're in and out in a giiffy, she keeps you accountable when you're overdue for a move up and she's super accommodating. Both girls you can tell truly love what they do. read more

I only went to this salon a couple of times. My experience was only with Kelli... I got a Brazilian and extensions done. I was happy with the results of my hair but very unhappy with the stylist. Every time I would try to make an appointment for my extension tightening it was always so difficult. She has Horrible communication and organization skills. If you try to reschedule, she'll forget she's already scheduled you and try to schedule you into a slot she initially gave you --if she even responds... you have to constantly be reminding her your still waiting on an appointment setting... took me a couple of days to finally get an appointment scheduled. Really sad considering how much competition is out there! And when you pay she'll automatically include an additional $10 to the total -basically tipping herself. Regardless of that, I would still tip her an additional $20 (totaling 30) because I'm a generous tipper and know what it's like to live off of them. Not only did I tip beyond decently, I'd drive from Mission Viejo to Costa Mesa, in Hopes of decent service and good skills. I'd highly suggest if you choose this salon, you don't work with Kelli. There's other stylist I'm pretty sure will actually value you as a client and offer you the same services. read more

This place is relentless in their unsavory business practices through bullying, defamation and intimidation. The owner recently left a completely untrue comment, I will dissect each allegation and separate the wheat from the chaff: We have tried very hard to rectify this situation with Katie immediately after it happened. She had her extensions in for a week and then called on a Saturday wishing to get a trim (with no mention of the extensions being 'tight') and a message was left for stylist Sarah. This is completely untrue. I got my extensions in on Thursday night and called first thing Saturday morning, this is NOT a week by my calendar. I also have a credit card receipt text message (as that seems to be their practice) that indicates this. I expressed my frustration to two receptionists, indicating that the hair was TOO heavy, it was painful, I also didn't speak with the owner so she doesn't know what I said. Sarah was only in for 2 hours that day and unfortunately did not get the message (which was 100% our fault). The fact that Sarah did not get the message, may or may not be true, I have no way of knowing. There are many other stylists who could have covered for her. I can only assume with a salon of this size. When Katie called back at 5pm we apologized for the mistake and booked her for an appointment first thing on Monday which was the very next day we were open. This, again, is a blatant falsehood. I spoke with a receptionist three times around 5pm that day, again I have the phone logs to prove it. First she said "there was nothing she could do for me." It was only after I BEGGED that she "squeezed me in" for "ten minutes" on Monday. I told the receptionist AGAIN that I was frustrated and I didn't know what to do. I told her I didn't know if I should just take them out. She also at this time told me that I couldn't speak to a manager until Tuesday, and she refused to call my stylist because "she lived thirty minutes away. I'm not sure what happened between Saturday night and Sunday when she left her review... I wish she would have called us earlier in the week if she had any concerns about her extensions being 'tight', and she never mentioned that in the message left to Sarah, she only said she wanted a trim. I don't know what she means by earlier in the week, but if she means the appx. 36 hours between when I left the salon and when I called. It was because I was in court the entire day. I am not only a yelper, and, as much as I would love to earn a living yelping, I am an attorney. I had to work, and did not have a minute to call. I knew that I would be engaged during their business hours, and I wouldn't be able to come in to have my hair fixed. I even checked in at the Santa Ana Courthouse here on yelp, if she wants further proof. I would further reiterate that I don't know how she knows what I said to the receptionist, as she has mentioned in her many letters to me that she was and has been on maternity leave. Sometimes same day appointments can be difficult to squeeze in although we do try to do our best to accommodate our clients and make everyone happy. I read that she had taken out her hair and offered to personally come in and reinstall her hair and rectify this situation, so did her stylist Sarah. I can understand that day appointments are "difficult to squeeze", however, one would think when a customer calls stating how frustrated she is, perhaps they could have squeezed me in. When she still seemed unhappy, Sarah offered to give her a full refund if she would come in to process it- she refused and her post is what it is. We did try very hard to help her and in the end, I feel like she was unhappy that Sarah did not get her in for a trim the same day as her call. I also wonder if her hair was really taken out as we did offer her a full refund if she would come in to process it. I am shocked and appalled by both these sentiments. She offered me a refund ONLY if I took down my yelp review, and she mentioned nothing about coming in to process it. She did say that if I came in and showed her my "bloody scalp" she would give me a refund, maybe that is salon code for "processing". When I get home from my job, I will gladly post a photo to the salon's page of all the hair I took out, the metal, and the plastic bag I have kept it in. I have NEVER in all my reviews, experienced ANYWHERE near this level of bullying and lies. If anyone would like to read the extensive back and forth (even when I asked her to discontinue messaging me, but she still persisted because she contacted me via her personal account and not from the owner account) that further collaborates all the facts of my review and her tactics, please feel free to message me. Unfortunately I have to update my review ... I had the extensions in for 1 month & when I took them out my hair was significantly shorter & thinner than before I had the extensions installed. I obsessively take great care of my hair so there's no other reason for the damage other than it being caused by the extensions .. I just wanted the extensions to add thickness while my hair continued to grow and thicken... The opposite happened. They caused SO much damage .. If your planning on wearing these extensions for the rest of your life than I would still recommend them because they looked fantastic & they were very low maintenance.. But THEY CAUSE DAMAGE! So if you're just looking for something semi-permanent I would STAY AWAY.. Braided sew ins protect your hair & clip ins are another way to add length and volume without compromising the integrity of your hair. If I would have known that the extensions were going to cause this much damage I would have NEVER had them installed. Plus they only lasted a month & they were nearly $400 .. Their prices have recently gone up .. If I were you I would save your money :/ read more

Kyle is a hair goddess! I discovered Tease salon on Instagram and was super excited to try it out when I moved here from out of state. I called the salon and was set up with an appointment with Kyle by the receptionist, who was very sweet and helped answer my initial questions. Kyle started by doing a color correction (base bump and highlights) on my hair because I was unhappy with the color I had gotten a couple weeks prior at another salon. It turned out the perfect shade of milky blonde and I was already extremely pleased before I even got my extensions. They have a whole storefront of hair so she matched me with a mixture of a light platinum "highlight" shade and then a more dimensional shade of golden blonde. They will give you as much or as little hair as you need of whichever color, so you can pretty much get whatever custom shade you're looking for. Most other salons have to order the hair for each client so you're stuck with just one shade or too much or too little hair. The install was quick and painless! They use their own special method to put in the wefts that uses no glue, no sewing, and no braiding. I have had the tape-ins and the individual keratin bonds in the past and I prefer the wefts. The wefts seem to be most gentle on my hair and can provide a beautiful full head of extensions. She blended them perfectly by cutting in some subtle layers and even took the time to finish off my look with a light style a la a Victoria's Secret Angel. I originally had my extensions put in 9 months ago and have had them "moved-up" every 6-8 weeks. I have had the same Bohyme hair the whole time and it has held up really well (I take really good care of it and use Caviar and Pureology products). I love my hair and am constantly getting compliments on it. I can't say enough good things about Kyle- she does a fantastic job on the color, extensions and cut, and she is always kind and accommodating. The salon's prices are very fair and you can get a new client special if you follow them on Instagram. I highly recommend Tease Salon to anyone wanting a beautiful head of hair! read more

Jessica-Poore, you are an amazing stylist and I'm glad you reached out to me after there was a misunderstanding.. I'm very pleased with how my hair extensions turned out and loved the fact that you walked me through it every step of the way! Last week jessica knew i was really upset about not being able to get my hair done on saturday so she contacted me personally to apologize for the miscommunication (she even got me a starbucks gc! she's super sweet!). And I'm glad she did or i would've never been able to had the chance to get my hair done by her. I've gotten many kinds of hair extensions before through malaysian, individuals, tracks (rubber band and sewn in technique) and none of those methods made my hair feel weightless. My extensions feel so light to my scalp (i wanted to try out the 16inches first to get used to the weight, but its actually not even heavy) and very flat. Now i feel like i don't need to worry about my extensions showing or if theres any bulkiness. I love how they do extensions there, always been a fan and the placement of the hair makes it have a natural flow and blend to your real hair. Plus they use bohyme! Such a great brand of hair. Process - the install took about 11/2hrs-2hrs which is the average amount of time it takes to put them in. Plus they have to match your hair too. Styling - Jessica styled my hair two ways. She showed me how it looks straight (which i loved, and I've never had extensions looked good straight since it never blended well) and when it was curled..both looked so amazing, i couldn't get over it. Tips &recommendations - She gave me like a list of tips for how to care for your extensions and her personal thoughts on certain hair products. She definitely didn't try to up sell something she didn't believe will be good for the hair. This was one of the worst color services I've had in 20+ years with Lexie. I searched for months to find the right person after my last horrible color experience (aside from these two I've never had an experience this bad even though I have been coloring every few months with different people in different states for decades). I was already traumatized from the last session at Kindred where I had a lot of breakage from mistreatment of my hair which she knew and it really effected my self esteem. Unfortunately coming here made it even worse than it was before beyond what I imagined. Lexie colored quickly which was nice but then I didn't notice until I got home that the inner part of my hair wasn't foiled and had black chunks of natural color even though I paid for a full ($400 with tip). She said it was because it's a dimensional look which wasn't the case because I've had a dimensional full foil blonde and didn't have large chunks of uncolored hair. And none of the photos I showed were like what she did. I had to go all the way back which was a big hassle and get the bottom done (which I feel like damaged my hair even more due to having to color twice in a week and walked out with dripping wet hair because they don't blow dry apparently). Then even worse, the assistant convinced me to get a "dusting" on the ends of my hair and although I normally wouldn't get a haircut, they insisted and I just assumed she cut hair so I thought it was a nice gesture and how bad could a "trim" be. Until I got home and realized it was the worst haircut I've had in my entire life. It has caused so much frustration, stress, and insecurity since and this was in February. I already had breakage I was trying to grow back which she knew, and it seemed like she just went Edward Scissorhands and cut off half of my hair in random places to the point it looked like I had a mullet. Some parts that were long on top were now literally half the length and to my ear while the rest was long. I had the worst self esteem and was so frustrated and not only regretted getting color here (and paying a high cost at that thinking it was going to be worth it), but even more the nightmare haircut. When I had to get this fixed by my usual stylist in LA, he told me it was so bad that it looked like there was a hole in the back of my head because the back was half chopped off. I will never come back to this salon and even moreso going through a hard time in my life currently, the self consciousness and self esteem this has affected has been the worst. read more

The salon is in Costa Mesa, just a few mins from my office in Newport, so I decided to get a consult with Jessica Drakos. The salon is clean, welcoming and comfortable. Jessica is BEYOND sweet. She's like a little ray of sunshine... Caring, considerate, and won't let you leave until it's perfect. My appointment was yesterday and I couldn't be happier. I met her awesome assistant, who was the cutest thing! Jessica got my color done and added more of a rooted look, so growth wouldn't be as intense. She matched my extensions perfectly. I feel really uncomfortable leaving a review but the only reason why I am is because I'm in the industry too and I deal with clients everyday too which can be overwhelming. I went to Tease Salon and had a really good, fun experience no complaints. But I came home and look through my hair and found all these bleed marks on the sides of my head. I text the stylist who did my hair and sent all these pics. She never even responded to me which sucks because I thought we vibed and I wanted to be a regular client. I paid $350 with a $120 tip. I had to get 2 other professional opinions on this and both said those lines are from bleeding bleach and shouldn't be there (which I knew). I'm not going to blow up the stylist because I feel like she doesn't want too or have time to fix my hair. I drove all the way from Oceanside SD for this. I'm really sad this happened and now I'm left having to spend more money to have someone else fix my hair. It's not okay at all and I honestly feel like shit especially since I tipped her so well. I first came to the salon a little over 4 years ago, not knowing what I wanted with my hair or who any of the stylists were. The receptionist scheduled me with Laura and I am so beyond happy she did that. I came to Laura with short, fried hair and she not only has made me happy with the color, giving me the extensions I needed but over the years, has made my hair the healthiest it's ever been. She makes sure you know she is always a text away and responds within minutes. I've been coming to the salon every few weeks for the past 4 years with Laura and will never change my stylist. When my hair was finished that day, it looked fine--maybe it was the lighting or the way they styled it that I didn't see what it truly looked like. Going into the salon, I thought my hair would never get as light as Lexie was able to get it because of all the red undertones in my hair and box dye I had already used on my hair but sure enough this girl worked her magic and exceeded my expectations without a doubt! I recently got my hair done by Lexie with the help of her assistant Taylor. This was my very first time getting my hair done by Lexie at Tease Salon and I could not be happier with how my hair turned out! First of all, the salon itself is so cute and welcoming. I felt so comfortable explaining to Lexie what I wanted. After I got my hair done last by my previous stylist, my roots turned into an orange-y, brassy color. I'm not exactly sure how this happened but it did. Once my hair started to grow out, it was very obvious to see the difference between my natural root color and the band that had grown out (see before pics). Lexie was able to blend my hair so beautifully and fixed the band of color that had grown out. Lexie and her assistant both worked on my hair during my visit and I felt at ease that I was in good hands. Not only is Lexie so down to earth and easy to talk to, she is very knowledgeable. She could tell by touching and working with my hair that it was so dry. She inquired about the shampoo/conditioner I use and asked if I take any medications that could affect my hair. She taught me that everything you put in your body runs through your hair first. She convinced me that I needed to try a new shampoo and conditioner and recommended a brand to me that I purchased (which I'm loving so far).
