This was my first time getting color at this salon and I am very disappointed. I asked for natural light brown highlights and specifically told my stylist I did not want a balayage. Then when my stylist was putting the foils halfway down my hair I reminded her I did not want a balayage and wanted more natural lighter highlights just around my face. She explained what she was doing would create natural highlights throughout. I figured she's supposedly the expert. Sure enough when she removed the foils I had a balayage. Then when she tried to fix it, she made it worse as I now have striped copper lines in my hair. Not light brown, like I asked, they're copper!! Literal stripes down my head, it's quite embarrassing and I wore a hat for the rest of the day. And I'll have to continue to cover my hair until I can get it fixed elsewhere. They look worse in person than in the photos too. Soooo frustrating and especially so because when I called to make the appointment I specifically ask for someone with a lot of experience as I have not had my hair colored or highlighted in a long time and I wanted a very natural lighter highlight. read more

I would leave 10 stars if I could for my girl NADIA. She is by far the best hair stylist I've ever had in my life and here's why: She communicates with you. She asks questions and listens to your goals and is there to help you meet them. She makes honest suggestions when asked but never pushes anything on you. What you say please cut one inch SHE ONLY CUTS ONE INCH. Her hair wash is unlike anything I have ever experienced--extremely thorough and the perfect scrubbing intensity. My hair has never looked better and people stop me all the time complimenting my hair and how HEALTHY, long and beautiful it has become and it's all thanks to Nadia on top of that she genuinely CARES about you as a person and has become such a dear friend of mine. I'm pretty disappointed with my experience trying to book as a new client here :( My friend referred me because she's always had great experiences, so I was genuinely excited! I booked a consultation and was told there would be a $20 booking charge, which I was fine with at first, until I found out my friend wasn't charged anything for hers. That already felt inconsistent. On top of that, the stylist I was scheduled with was booked out until next month, but I was willing to wait since it gave me time to plan and save. The biggest issue was that I just received a call that they needed to cancel and reschedule my appointment, and that isn't realistic for me because I work every day and I specifically requested time off for the original appointment date. They offered other days and even pushed it back toward late March, but at that point it just became too much. I completely understand salons get busy and not everyone has such a packed schedule, but the communication and scheduling process made me feel like new clients aren't really being accommodated :( read more

I went in for a color service a couple weeks back with the stylist, Stefani. From the start, it was clear that we were not exactly on the same page on what I wanted. The results from my appointment were disappointing, and I came in the next day for a little fix, only to leave again unsatisfied. Unfortunately, me and Stefani did not fully understand each other when it came to what I wanted. I wouldn't leave a bad review just because I wasn't happy with my results, though. These miscommunications happen and you just have to deal with it sometimes. However, what made me write this negative review is the aftermath of my appointment. A couple of my friends went to see Stefani as one of them had an appointment with her. Stefani, knowing they were my friends, still chose to speak poorly about me, as a client, to her other client (my friend). She mocked me and spoke very poorly about me, even to the point of my physical appearance. I am aware that "salon gossip" is a thing, but it is completely unprofessional and juvenile to talk about your clients like that to other clients. I was absolutely shocked to hear that someone working in a professional environment would speak in the way she did about me to others, especially since I was very respectful/calm-headed when I discussed with her about what I was not satisfied with my results. I cannot believe that any ACTUAL professional would believe this is acceptable to do. Do not book with Stefani if you like the idea that your stylist does not speak negatively about you to others. read more

What a disappointing experience at the David Salon! My stylist passed away. I researched extensively to find a quality stylist. I went in for consultation for one hour and took great care to communicate exactly what i wanted. I went back 2 days later. The veteran stylist butchered my hair. It was is if our entire conversation had not happened. It was like the Twilight Zone. The worst part of my David Salon horror story is when tried to get fixed, I was told that the stylist was not available and another stylist could not fix it because I was "his client" and therefore a different stylist would charge me for a full haircut. I said no way on principle. I explained my plight about having to attend a funeral the next day and despite acknowledging my hair looked horrible, he would still not stand by their Salon's work and get someone to fix it. I'm shocked at the horrible customer service. A bad haircut happens but David Salon's response is inexcusable. The manager begrudgingly gave me a refund. I never received any follow-up from them. My advice: run like your hair is on fire or it just might look like it is. read more

Took a chance on a new salon for a completely new look haircut. David Salon was highly rated so I phoned and was able to get in next day with James, whose excellent reviews I had previously read on-line. What the Salon did right: Salon was easy to find. I was cheerfully invited in at the door by a greeter and although I was at least 5 minutes early, James was right next to her greeting me cheerfully. Other salons when you walk in the first time you can feel uncomfortable, then have to wait wait wait. I did not feel that way nor did I have to wait or wonder where to sit as in other salons. James led me to his station for a consultation. He was super attentive to all the parameters I set forth (not easy ones) and expertly knew how to carry it out. He was nice to say he was glad I brought pictures. He then gently guided me back to an alcove where I could hang my jacket. I was offered a robe, if I wanted one, which I did. Shampoo artist, Sydney, was very kind, gentle and nice. She noticed I was enjoying just being quiet and she did not try to force small talk on me. She did just right. She knew to get me towels so I didn't drip and then led me back to James' station. As said previously, James was super attentive to all the parameters I set forth (not easy ones) and expertly knew how to carry it out. He also noticed I was happy to be quiet and did not force any small talk. He really put me at ease (not easy either). He made me feel beautiful from start to finish - especially at the finish. He really did a great job and was teaching me the whole time what to do for maximum, big, natural silver curls. He mentioned I must be receiving compliments on my curls (which I do). I really love my haircut and can't wait to show my husband and children! He used three products that worked and had a pleasant aroma so I bought what he had used while styling my hair. I was not pressured into purchasing products like at other salons, in fact it wasn't even suggested. I really love my haircut! Thanks James! What Salon did wrong: Nothing. I can't say enough great things about Annette. She rescued my hair from practically breaking off. She was very patient with me and gave me so much hope when I thought I was going to have to shave off all of my hair. I'd previously gone to a "stylists" that ruined my hair. She over processed my hair and it was frail and straw like. It would break off when I touched it. I desperately searched for a Salon that specialized in fixing over processed hair. Found this place on Google and called them. I shared my situation with the receptionist and was advised to see Annette. During my consultation, Annette helped me choose a good hair treatment to use before our next appointment. About two weeks out, my hair felt much healthier and Annette went in and fixed my color and hair cut. She was able to bring out the color I initially wanted from the start. I had an event coming up and Annette even recommended a great place to match for hair extensions. It was a success!! David Salon is hidden in a small shopping center attached to Ayres Hotel. I came a little early for my hair appt and was seated at their beautiful hair bar. I was offered refreshments ( Wine, Water, Ice tea, yes yes and yes) since it was hot outside. I like this Bar Concept. You sit at a beautiful marble bar, leather bar/hair chairs, and while portable hair dryers are visible above that can dry your hair while You drink and watch Tv on a big screen. I like it. Instead of a tradional bar where you have a mirage of liquor, here , you see hair color products, a big screen TV ! In eye view there are stations as you would expect for cut, color, style. Usual music inside and ramblings of hair stylists conversing with their clients. I came early 20 min for my appointment because Im trying to be early or on time instead of late. Better early than late. My apprentice/stylist was not here yet. Finally, I meet Angela. Very Professional and Sweet. There are changing stations where one can get out of their clothes or wear a smock as to avoid getting color on my clothes. Products: Goldwell. Aveda.Morraccan Oil. KMS. To name a few. All the brands I like, specifically Goldwell , Aveda, and Moroccan Oil brands. Interestingly, the first bar chair I sat in, kept slowly making a funny clicking noise and seemed to be going down down down. Hopefully, that will be fixed. Hunter- get on it! :) They just did a remodel and have added more stations and chairs. That means more opportunity to get your hair needs taken care of at a faster more efficient rate! Im a fan. I was warmly greeted by Angela and her instructor. We had a great conversation as to what I wanted and what I had in my hair. Number 1 no no: Boxed Color! I dont do boxed color so we were good! Boxed color is a pain in the butt when it comes to hair colorists because it gives the hair added residue and coverage that affects the integrity of the hair and the ability for the color to break bonds and oxidize correctly to get the desired effect. Take home message: Box Color- skip it. First: hair was washed and shampooed. Next, Service "pregaurd cream" by Wella was applied around my face. I need that bec my skin soaks color like a sponge. Next came base color and eye brows. Neutralizer spray applied , while the end colors of my highlights were added. I love the color and dimension. I would recommend this salon. Good products and great results. I ended up purchasing Goldwell shampoo and travel sized aveda conditioner for an upcoming trip. Anghela you rock! Next time, the "juuujjj" factor will be there with highlights adding more dimension to the overall look. read more

The place is cute, the service is great, and the staff is friendly but I had two very unfortunate experiences here. I went to one stylist with multiple reference photos with a shoulder length long bob. I told the stylist we could go a tiny bit above the shoulder but I communicated that I was nervous about poofiness/shrinkage. She reassured me that she would start cutting it longer and we could gradually go shorter. Well.... she cut off quite a bit at once and now I have a chin length bob that I hate. My other time at this salon, I came in with a few pieces (money piece, a couple strands in the back) which had been lightened and I was charged for a full color to get them dyed darker... and she missed lots of pieces. The David Salon is in general a trust worthy place with very nice people at reception. I'm sure the salon has many talented hair stylists as well but unfortunately I went with Annette. The one star is for the stylist not the salon. It can be daunting trying to pick the right stylist when you go to a new salon and once you choose one it's awkward to switch. Especially once you decide to but then the first stylist, Annette, literally pulls you out of another stylist's chair and claims you as her own as she had you first! LOL. Yes, that happened. And to my shame I let her get away with that. What can I say, sigh, I was new in town and already had my hair fried at another salon. Nevertheless, this type of behavior should have had me running out the door. Regretfully I stuck with it for convenience sake. She didn't burn my hair after all I reasoned with myself. Okay, so she didn't burn my hair but she treated me rudely every time I went to her. She was extra sloppy with the hair color leaving it well over my hairline. She was often running late for our appointments. She mentions how poorly people tip her, even her own sister-in-law. *I always tip 20% but she didn't deserve that. Anyway, this was an obvious ploy on her part to guilt a client into tipping more. Worst of all, she's the type that asks a ton of personal questions about your life and then has a catty dig every chance she gets to slip it in to the conversation. With a smile of course. You know the type. Yeah, that type. Uhg! Eventually I called her out on it all and left for good. Hurrah! End of sad story. ;-) read more

Straight to the point. My wifes hair is FRIED. Stylist told her she could bleach her Virgin hair, she blamed her hair for not taking it well even though she has bleached it herself sucsessfully many times . My wife has a short haired mohawk Stylist let my wife go home with Greenish gray, blue, and off white stripes. Charged her $230. My wife being the sweet Lady that she is, left in tears. I called the owner David. He asked for her to come in to fix it. And he apologized. He said she shouldn't have been let out of the salon like that. My wife went back. Came home with pretty much the same colors just lighter, much shorter hair, crispy, wirey... she looked like she went to Clown School instead of a salon. She was given some hair products and $100 back. Were leaving for our Honeymoon tmw morning. Shes in tears but ill take care of her. We will still have a great time. Unfortunately, even though a good friend said this salon Was great, we will NOT be visiting again nor will we be referring any of our many friends ans family. read more
