So nice to see a boba/milk tea place not far from da humble abode. Senior G and my nephew Senior M have gone here first. Senior G said that this place is just OK. He's the most critical human I know. Senior M liked it there I suppose as he has a longer trek to get there. Maybe he was checking out one of the girls working there. He is single ladies! I've been over a few times already. Some of them while waiting on my take out order at the dumpling or that sea salt place. These guys do pretty well, with a near constant stream of customers. They take your order quickly and then you wait. It's made to order you know. If you're not there to receive, they place you order in da frig. I noticed that some of the customers were ordering on an app and duhhh there were signs for their app pretty much in yo' face when you come in. I delayed uploading it thinking I don't come here enough. But, alas! I caved. It's so much better ordering your drink online. At the counter, I usually feel pressure to hurry TF up. I can decide at my leisure exactly what I want. There be a lot of options (ice amounts, boba, toppjngs, popping pearls, etc ) So the app enables you to get it exactly how you want you drink. So far, all the milk tea/drinks I have offered were tasty and I had figured out how I's like things, the next time I order. Why only 4 stars you stingy ass? Been going here more often because I do like the drinks, but the paper straws are really starting to annoy tf out of me. Most of the time I have to make a slit with something, and then I'm able to poke the straw through. I just read, scientists say paper straws are actually worse/more harmful to the body than plastic ones. read more

Yay! Teaspoon is open! Teaspoon is a tasteful boba establishment that first started in beautiful Los Altos, CA (nearby to Stanford University area). Having tried their drinks once while visiting the Bay Area, I knew this boba chain would be high quality, boasting delicious flavors. I love how you can customize your own drink! I ordered the osmanthus oolong with boba and wow it hit the spot! The tea tasted fresh and fragrant and the boba was sweet with a nice QQ. I also ordered the black assam milk tea with boba. Unfortunately, I can't attest to the flavor because it fell out of my car and spilled everywhere in the parking lot (sooo sad lol) but anyways it looked really good! Furthermore, my high expectations were exceeded thanks to the beautiful store layout and customer service! The icing on the cake was the cute kid toy/entertainment set up in the back. Tbh, the drinks are a hit or miss. For boba being 6$ sometimes 8-9$ you'd think it would be high quality. For the price I don't think it's worth going. The staff is sometimes nice but when you have a problem with a drink they give you rude stares and make you look like you're the problem. I've gotten the Taro coffee drink, matcha royale with the strawberry bits & the jasmine tea. 1 out of the 3 drinks were decent enough. The taro coffee had spoiled milk in it and when i told the person who made my drink, he just told me that the coffee was rly bitter but i know what bitter coffee tastes like and the milk was spoiled in my drink. this is a pretty popular place in my neighborhood and i was pretty exicted to go. It wasn't that busy and the drink took maybe about 5-10 minutes to come out. it was really good! the boba pearls were soft and chewy and the drink was amazing! It was pretty sugary and the drink only comes in one size but i definitely reccomend trying it! i'll definitely be coming back to try some more drinks read more

The soft opening was so busy. Waited at least 2 hours for my drink. To be expected though, 4S was starved from a boba place for so long. Got Strawberry Matcha Royale at 75% sugar and Black Sugar Assam. The Strawberry Matcha Royale is really good. The strawberry was the right sweetness and with boba it hit just right. The green tea was creamy and slightly bitter. The Black Sugar Assam wasn't very sweet at all and mostly tasteless. The drink itself was a bit too plain for my liking, tasting like slightly bitter milk. The boba was warm, soft and chewy though. read more

I love boba so I had been heavily anticipating Teaspoon opening up near me. Unfortunately, I went day 3 of the soft opening and it was fairly disappointing for the following reasons: 1. Pricey - to be expected in this neighborhood but drinks were upwards of 6, 7 dollars with boba. I ordered two drinks and my total was $14 with tax 2. Taste - I had the house milk tea and the strawberry matcha royale (which for some reason had no matcha?) and both tasted bland and watered down. It wasn't too bad but definitely not what I was expecting for the price. 3. Service - Workers had absolutely no sense of urgency which caused the line to be super long and slow despite the fact that new people were not coming in that frequently. All in all, not bad in a pinch but if you can, I would choose somewhere else. The menu is pretty but the actual drinks are lackluster. read more

I will first say this review is just based on their drinks. The service and staff are definitely good. The staff is friendly and informative as needed. I got their matcha with strawberry and their new guava drink. I will say that their fruit drinks are decent. It is not extremely sweet but flavorful. I would just stick with their fruit drinks if anything. Their specialty drink so far has been extremely disappointing. I could not taste the matcha through the whole drink. I even asked them and they added more matcha. I am not sure what they put in that drink, but it tasted like nothing. It was like drinking water with strawberry bits in it. I was expecting bit more flavor but it was a terrible drink all the way down. Overall the service was a good experience, fruit teas were okay, but the specialty drinks that should their big selling point was absolutely terrible. The drinks are pretty good! I enjoyed them. There is a good amount of seating and outlets for studying and the staff is SUPER helpful and very nice. For those who are environmentally conscious, they only fill their own cups (I brought my own and they tell told me no, so I bought a cup). They sell them at the store, the one I got is $10 which is fine it was a pretty glass bottle and they said if you bring it back you get 10% off. The only downside is that it's SOOOOOOOOOOO EXPENSIVE. $1 extra for plant-based milk and other add ons/also the general price, in total it was $9 ish definitely a splurge place. read more

We've ordered twice from this shop, the first time in person & the second via DoorDash. The first time, I ordered a milk tea with crystal boba & for the some the reason the drink had a very sour after taste to it. I'm not sure if it was the crystal boba that made it sour but regardless the sour taste ruined the milk tea. As for the second time, I ordered an Assam black milk tea & it was advertised with sugar boba included but when the drink was delivered NO BOBA in sight! I also ordered the drink at 75% sugar level & literally it was bland & tasteless. So disappointed!! Really wanted to like this place but would rather go elsewhere that's a bit more consistent. read more

I put for scale the amount of boba in which we have to pay a dollar is barely enough for one of my drinks I ordered. For those curious, I have already tried several of the drinks (though not all) and these are my top choices: 1. Dirty Ube (Coffee/Ube drink, it is phenomenal) 2. Matcha Royale (I get it with oat milk) 3. *Seasonal* Peppermint Matcha (ask for extra peppermint bits) 4. Liquid Gold (w/Lychee jelly and popping boba) 5. My friends and I previously traveled 15+ minutes for a decent boba spot and I am pleased to now have one so close to home. Clean facilities, great customer service, plenty of seating, and different flavors/combinations from the neighboring competition. It should be understandable that they had a bit of difficulty with their 'soft opening' because the line was down the street. Despite that, the business has been alive every day from what I have seen. The owner Kathy is extremely pleasant, affable, and very involved in her business as I have seen her here every time I stop by. This location has something to offer for all groups and ages as I often sit here to complete my homework and I've seen young kids and older folks in and out. Free wifi is provided, games and books for the little ones, and they're now rolling out pastry options as well if you really have a sweet tooth. When I brought my mother her drink she was surprised the boba was warm and had such an amazing texture, I then learned she'd never tasted freshly cooked boba. She loved it. The rewards system could use some work but I only say so because I order way too much. I wish nothing but the greatest of things for this business and look forward to seeing it grow. We went twice the first time we got their equivalent of jasmine milk tea and their golden brew coffee with oat milk. The drinks came out promptly and were delicious. We went again and got the jasmine milk tea, lychee on lychee, and white crystal. The first two drinks were again spot on. But the white crystal tasted like what an ash tray smells like. Not sure what happened with that drink...Hoping that they are working out the kinks during this soft opening. My daughter and I came in at 4:55 on Xmas eve. Store closes at 5pm. Opened door and guy said they are closed. If the sign says 5pm why are you closed at 4:55? I work retail as well and we service customers until 5pm even if that means overtime as customer service is paramount. The drinks I highly doubt would take more than 5 minutes to make. My family and I have been coming here since grand opening and tonight one of there associates gave us a bad experience. The guys name was Ari, he was really rude when my husband was ordering for us and we have ordered taro smoothie before and he said he couldn't when we have been there multiple times and they did it with no problem. He also mentioned that they aren't able to adjust the sweetness when we were able to last time as well. Our drinks came out overly sweet and not the same consistency as our last visits. Super disappointment when it comes to the holidays and people get treated this way especially when they open a new business and hire people that don't care about there customers. read more
