This cafe has everything - Starbucks drinks to pastors to snacks and souvenirs. The women working there are so nice! I came here everyday during my 3 days work conference. I will say, it's a bit slow and usually just one person making the drink while the other makes the food. They do it one order at a time so it can be a bit of a wait.

This cafe inside Rancho Bernardo Inn has Starbucks! I found out on the last day I was there, otherwise I would've been there everyday. The lady working the counter (I think her name is Elizabeth?) is super sweet and cheerful. I ordered breakfast to go, and she even made the ham and egg sandwich over for me because a piece of bagel broke off when she was toasting it. I also had the brown sugar latte, and even though I've had the same drink at so many different Starbucks, it was by far the best at this location. I think because the lady made it like she is supposed to, and the Starbucks I usually go to just whip it up in a hurry. I really enjoyed getting the coffee here, it is literally the little things that impress me nowadays. Stop by if you want a take out breakfast or Starbucks while you're staying at RB Inn. I'm glad I did!

Love this semi secret place, but is well known I cannot keep secrets even more when they are sweet and pretty. Or pretty sweet, like this amazing coffee shop/patisserie/gift shop. I love coming here regularly to work when not in the office. The serotonin levels increase with the sound of birds, smell of flowers, freshness of grass and lucious plants and soft music too. Very very pleasant. The people working here are all super amazing and the pastries are the best you can get around the area. I am always so happy spending time here. Coffee is Starbucks. There is nothing not to like!

This is a tucked away little coffee/snack shop inside RB Inn. I only knew about it because of Yelp (thank you Yelp!). They're located to the right of the main reception check in area inside the lobby. I was happy they were open on the 4th of July. The nice girl working was welcoming and kind. We spent the day at the spa/pool and they don't serve coffee there. It's a bit of a trek to get here from the spa but worth it if you're jonesing for coffee. My iced coffee was made quickly. They use Starbucks beans I believe. The price was fair and the coffee tasted pleasant and smooth. The condiment section was organized, clean, and well stocked. Loved the little jars of mini honey too! There are also a few quaint tables with chairs by the windows. I think you can save $1 off coffee refills if you re use the same cup? So this would be a nice place to perhaps get some reading/work done if you're in the area.

I found out about this cafe through Yelp and I have to say it has the cutest little nook for studying or keeping away from the heat. It is a bit hidden since its located inside of the RB inn, but if you turn to the right from the entrance you'll easily find a pathway to the cafe. There are only about four tables inside but each of them have outlets and fast wifi to use. The cafe offers coffee made from Starbucks coffee beans and a couple of pastry options as well. The barista inside the shop was very kind and cheerful, which I appreciated a lot. I tried the honey b latte , which was sweet but not overwhelmingly sugary. I would recommend this cafe if you happen to be in the area and want to try a new environment for some quiet reading or to get some work done

I went here almost everyday I was staying at the hotel. It's a tiny cafe located next to the hotel concierge and they have all the essentials. They have coffee, lattes, teas, juices, pastries and breakfast sandwiches. The food is a little pricey but that's a given inside a resort. I had the ham/egg/cheese sandwich and bacon/egg/cheese sandwich ($5) another time. Both were good. They're pre-made but they toast it for you and it's actually pretty tasty. My favorite thing about this place was the view. You can eat your breakfast inside and have a great view of the garden. They also sell souvenirs such as candies, snacks and stone glasses/sauces. Service was friendly and the lattes were on point.

Indoor seating of 4 tables total.

Decided to check this place out since I was in the area and needed a place to study. It is inside the inn so I had to ask for directions to the cafe. However it is relatively easy to find once you do. I got a honey b latte with one less shot and it was great! The employees are super nice. Summer hours they close at 7! There's not many tables though...

Cute little cafe tucked inside the Rancho Bernardo Inn. Great for early morning coffee, tea or expresso. They open @ 6am and close @ 6pm. They have sandwiches, fresh fruit, chips, protein bars, etc. Great to pick up something and take to the pool or back to the room to enjoy.

The staff was very warm and welcoming, though throughout the evening it definitely felt like they may have been short staffed and stretched a bit thin. Since we were headed to a movie after dinner, we decided to keep things light and share appetizers plus dessert. We tried the Fried Shishito Peppers, Veggie Potstickers, Grilled Broccolini, Rosemary Garlic Fries, Whipped Burrata, Garlic Noodles, Salmon Poke Tacos, and Lamb Chops. Overall, the food was decent but nothing especially memorable. The lamb chops were cooked nicely but could have used more seasoning, and the poke tacos were tasty but tiny -- literally about the size of my pinky for each taco. We were disappointed they had sold out of both the Crème Brûlée Bread Pudding and the Budino, which were the desserts we originally wanted to try. Thankfully, the Butter Toffee Cake completely saved dessert for us -- absolutely delicious and easily the highlight of the meal. Overall, a cute spot with good vibes for a girls night, but the food itself didn't quite live up to the hype for us.

The steak only came with a side of broccoli that looked no different from what I microwave in a bag at home. (You can choose one side from a variety of complimentary sides). Béarnaise sauce sauce cost extra. Bread for the table was complimentary. The food that we ordered was adequate, but not exciting. Service was OK and attentive enough, but not high-end or highly polished/highly trained as you might expect at a steakhouse. Decor is dark and atmospheric, but somewhat dated. Patrons were casual -- one guy was wearing a tank top, shorts and flip-flops, not what I would expect on Easter Sunday at a steak house. Come on people! Bathrooms could do with a refresh and kinda smelled. Ample free parking.

Service was great too - waiter was Latino and had an unusual name - Uberto? He's been there before and was great. Cocktail: I tried a Greenpoint, which is a take on a Brooklyn, which I guess is a take on a manhattan. It was served on the rocks - it was missing at first a little something but as it got more chilled, I think it was just warm at first, which was a little strange. But I liked it. Sourdough boule: back to fabulous this time. Very yummy in every way. Market salad: always huge and enough for 2 to split for $15-ish. This time it had berries, blue cheese and some yummy dried pears. I ate up almost every morsel. Got the striped bass too, which is a good dish. I'm not going to say it's the most spectacular thing you'll ever eat - and the parsnip puree and cauliflower were a little boring - but the fish was huge and cooked well. And I enjoyed sneaking my sweetie's fingerling potatoes that came with his beef medallions instead. He enjoyed that also - he just thought that the blanket of blue cheese on the top was a little too much. Oh - and the real reason this is a 5 star visit this time in addition to the generally good food and drink & great patio? They have live music every Sat. night - and this time it was Daniel Newheiser who was a ton of fun. Often they have great vocalists doing covers of the Eagles or Olivia Rodrigo or whatever in creative ways. But Newheiser does standards - with very creative arrangements. Bio says he has a jazz degree from USC - and it was pretty darn awesome and different from the last time we heard him a few years ago. Great to come here and do outdoor dining & have great food, drink and music year round!

Our first visit in January we ordered the Lamb Chops which were amazing and cooked medium rare as is proper for Lamb Chops. The Salmon was cooked perfectly. Not over cooked. Skin was crispy. For appetizers, the lobster bisque was sultry and the grilled shrimp prawns can with two huge prawns with roasted vegetables. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and not dry at all. It is easy for restaurants to make thick cut pork chop dry. Not at Avant! We also ordered the Beef Wellington (a special that was not on the menu). We didn't realize the Beef Wellington was sized for two people, hence the huge up charge. Beef Wellington was cooked medium rare which how its supposed to be prepared! The crust was more like a pipe crust than puff pastry. The pate is mushroom with swiss chard. I need to address another Yelp User's review of this restaurant complaining about the Beef Wellington: 1) If you dont like your beef medium rare, DO NOT order the Beef Wellington. Ask Chef Gordon Ramsey! Medium is considered over cooked in a Beef Wellington. The meat gets dry and tough. 2) The Beef Wellington is a special (typically on the weekend) with limited quantities and is not on the menu all the time. I heard the restaurant manager let other tables know the limited quantities and he needed to know ASAP if a diner was considering the Beef Wellington. 3) Please also note that Beef Wellington takes to 30 to 40 minutes because there is a 15 to 20 minute rest time. So be sure to order appetizers also to tie you over! The service here is fantastic! Blaine was great! The atmosphere is nice in dark woods. Just the right lighting.
