This place is a rip off. I called several times to confirm they do smog checks, which they assured me they did. Turns out there smog checks don't hold up with the DMV, a little fact the owner did not mention to me until he had done the check and run my card. What a relief to find this Technicare Diagnostic Shop and Garrett! My husband and I are new to the area, and my husband is gone a lot due to his job as a Merchant Marine, so I have needed to find a mechanic I could trust. I recently learned that I can trust this mechanic! I was about to go on a road trip this summer and one of my warning lights came on. I called around in the area where I live, and Garrett was able to get me in that day! He was able to diagnose the problem in less than 15 minutes, and had the job done the very next day (due to needing to order the part). Not only is he a great mechanic and knows what he is doing, but he is very kind and generous with his time. Second time having a bad experience with this business the first time was many years ago so we thought we would try them again. I showed up 10 minutes early for my appointment as I walked up to the lady sitting outside and she said can I help you with something and I replied I'm here for 330 appointment for a smog, she let me know that the man that does the smogs had left to the bank and that his bank was in Middletown, I did ask her if he knew that he had a 330 appointment and she replied she did not know, she told me I can either wait or come back at another time. I let her know that I was going to wait because I took time off work for this appointment, she then proceeded to say she takes off work every day to be there. I As I walked away to go wait she mumbled under her breath the word Sarcastic I then turned to her and said excuse me and she claims she didn't say anything until I told her I heard you say sarcastic and then she told me she was talking to her drink at that time I turned around again and she called me a bitch. A mechanic you can trust! Very experienced, knowledgeable and professional. Had our 07' Chevy Silverado brakes go out suddenly, passing through the area in the evening time. Being from out of town we were hoping to find someone reliable who could accommodate immediately. Garrett was able to see us as soon as he opened the next day! I highly recumbent Garrett Nelligan as an auto mechanic. He has been mine for year and I have found him to be kind, honest and reasonable. I wouldnt take my cars anywhere else.
