I wish I could give zero stars. I brought my Tahoe to Ted Britt Chevrolet after a known factory engine defect left it disabled. My vehicle has now been sitting completely disassembled in their service bay for 30 days--but ONLY because this service department completely neglected my vehicle, failed to communicate, and caused severe internal diagnostic delays throughout the entire month of June. Now, because their own internal slowness caused the timeline to drag out, the General Manager, Toby Kirk, is forcing me to return my service loaner by tomorrow under the guise of a "30-day insurance rule." I offered to come in and simply sign a standard paperwork renewal to keep the insurance compliant while GM Corporate finishes their review of the manufacturing defect this week. Instead of showing leadership or extending grace for his own department's unprofessional delays, Toby refused a simple paperwork renewal and demanded the car back, knowingly leaving a family entirely stranded right before the holiday weekend with a disassembled vehicle still in his garage. Wow. What a rip off place is ted britt chevy. Last night (july 2nd) my chevy traverse broke down on the highway while i was on my from NJ to down south. It lost power, battery drained and did not hold charge. I guessed the possible issue to be the alternator. It was late so I had it towed to ted britt chevy on leesburg pike in sterling, VA. It was nice of them to take the car in for diagnosis in the morning. They said that alternator and the battery needed replacement. When they quoted me the price, I almost fainted. Approx. $2,400. ( alternator is approx $1,900 and battery $500+) When I mentioned that it was unreasonably high by any stretch, they said that prices are higher in VA than NJ, which is pure BS. They knew that I was stranded and in a jam and could not take the dead car to another workshop so they were not willing to reduce the price even a bit. Now, I would like to like ask any and all car dealers, mechanics or people who have had their alternator replaced, am I the only who is surprised by this ridiculously high price? I had no choice but to get the work done reluctantly because I had to get back on the road. I spoke to the manager before picking up the car and he said the price is not high and he cant do anything. I am extremely disappointed and hurt by this rip off by ted britt and would recommend everyone to stay away from this dealership. Had a safety inspection of my truck early June. Drove a little more than 1,300 miles and two tires went flat and the other two were miles away from following. Reason for the failures was weather related age of the tires. Basically they were cracked on the side walls and Ted britt failed to tell me so they could be replaced. Instead, had to get a tow truck, and pay a lot of money to replace all 4 tires in the middle of nowhere. Not how a reputable business should operate. The salesperson Burak was extremely communicative, transparent, and easy to work with - no qualms with him. However - the experience took a turn for the negative when I was unable to come to a resolution on having two working FOBs. Part of the sale was having two FOBs - however, upon learning that the second remote did not work, the Ted Britt Chevrolet team has been unwilling to work with me on getting a second working FOB. I will admit that I should have gotten this in writing, however, one would think that common courtesy would prevail and they would support a client (who just purchased a vehicle) in having two working FOB devices. I left a review on google - which was replied to, but upon calling, they were unwilling to work with me. The service advisor team is awful. I've been in here several times for routine-more complicated things and I'm always met with a negative attitude from the start. At one point I asked them to upgrade my brakes to a higher spec (all genuine Chevy parts of course) and was told they wouldn't take on the liability of installing "aftermarket parts." Again, all Chevy genuine parts on a vehicle that it was designed for and came from the factory with and purchased from gm with receipts. Every other dealership was willing to install them. The advisors treat you like an inconvenience, and the labor rate is astronomical. Went back to attempt to get my kicker subwoofer installed in my truck and initially was told they had never heard of it and they would not install aftermarket parts. After informing them it was a genuine Chevy part purchased from the gm parts store, they quoted me over twice what the unit cost for install. I went to another dealership and paid half what they quoted. Sales team is fine, but go somewhere else for service. They are jerks. This dealership is located 5 minutes from my office and I drive 45 min to go to Lindsey instead because they aren't rude as hell over there. Charged me for a diagnostic test that I didn't agree too. I asked for someone to look at my infotainment system when my truck was in for a recall. I told them that my screen wasn't working and didn't know if it could be fixed or needed replaced. Service Advisor said he didn't know about the issue I was having and would have a tech look at it and if it needs a diagnostic he would call and let me know. I just wanted to know if it could be fixed or needs replacing. I told him do not proceed with anything repair or diagnostics before contacting me. I got a phone call about a couple other things they wanted to let me know about. Nothing on the infotainment system but a price to replace it. I go to pick up my truck and the service writer is gone for the day and I have a Bill for a diagnostic test I didn't agree too. Nor did I get any report from a diagnostic on what they found. The car buying experience was top notch. The deal was coordinated over the phone with CJ as my salesperson. I told him upfront I didn't want to deal with any up sales madness like completing the OFAC form. OFAC requires a name check against a list, not a SSN check. Some dealers use the OFAC to get your SSN and consent to run your credit. Since I had financing through USAA, there was no reason to run my credit and no I didn't want extended warranties or paint protection. (This was my 5th new car in 4 years due to manufacture defect issues and wanting an EV so no telling how long I would keep this car.) CJ and Emily were great. Provided all my docs via text and I received the electronic eligible docs before my arrival and signed via docusign. Once I got to the dealership, (CJ picked me up from the nearby rental car place in his personal vehicle) signed a few that required a wet signature, received a tutorial of the car features then I was out! Totally the way car buying should be. UPDATE:: My tags arrived at the dealership and they called to ask me if I wanted them mailed to my home since I live in Md. They told me it needed extensive work (replacement of control arm & power steering pump, F&R brakes, suspension, tires, etc) totaling over $8,500. Distressed, I brought the car to my neighborhood repair shop and they quoted me $1,900 just for brakes & tie rod replacement. They set themselves up for failure by doing battery checks first, which made it impossible to do any emissions testing. Then failed the safety inspection over BS claims like streaking wipers, and claimed worn ball joints. Then quoted me $5400 worth of repairs needed. I bought a Chevy Silverado 1500 High Country from Ted Britt. Today (7/24/24) I went in to get a new wheel. I purchased tire and wheel protection when I bought the truck, but honestly, I can't remember the terms. The person "helping" me told me to find the information on the fob that gave me when I bought the truck. I have no idea where the stupid fob is....He told me I could go to the finance department if I needed that information. I asked how much the wheel would cost. He condescendingly told me that different wheels cost different amounts, and he didn't know what wheels my truck has-of course we were looking at the truck and he had all the information up on his computer screen. I was told the parts department could help. Bottom line is he didn't care to help me. Fortunately, there is another Chevy dealership on my way home. They were more than willing to help! My new wheel would have been here tomorrow, but it was too late today to get it by tomorrow so they will install my new wheel Thursday at 10. I would never recommend their service ever. Their sales experience is subpar. But when it comes to service they do not come any where close to the jiffy lube down the street! Each time they had my car more than a month. Each time they could find the fix to the issues I had. It's a shame that this has happened! My father used to buy cars and I started doing the same. It lags behind other brands like VW from my experience But is on par or better than some of the more mid-range brands. Ted Britt for Life didn't work for me. In November, I called Ted Britt Chevrolet for warranty repair and scheduled maintenance on my Chevy Volt. They told me technician was no longer certified to work on the Volt, so I had to take it to another dealership, which meant I didn't get the service loaner or any of the other TB4L benefits. About two weeks later the check engine light came on - the EGR valve needed to be replaced ($1,200.87). Ted Britt's technician was still not certified, so I had to take it to the other dealership and pay for the repair, and again, didn't get the service loaner. I called Ted Britt about warranty coverage and they told me that the EGR valve - Exhaust Gas Recirculation - was not part of the emissions system (which I had a warranty) or the powertrain (which is supposed to be covered by TB4L). I would give one-star, but the service manager was courteous about it. read more

I went to buy a car for my daughter and after an hour I finally found something that would work for her. I then told the salesman that I had to be under $200 per month and that I was going to out $500 down. Keep in mind that the car was only 11k. When i went to test drive the car, the battery was dead and I noticed that the car definitely had some front end damage (which was apparently not reported to Carfax), and some big paint issues. I attempted to work with the salesman and his manager. They came back to me with a deal that would require me to spend $215 per month and put $1000 down. I respectfully thanked them for their time and told them to have a nice night. A couple of days later a salesperson named Angel started texting me. He was extremely rude and condescending. I kept his text messages so that I can show them to the Ted Britt management team and to my lawyer. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE. ANGEL SHOULD ALSO BE FIRED. What a truly horrible experience. Bought a car with 3 miles on it, broke down the same day needing a repair that "would take two weeks." Heard nothing for three weeks and was told to call Chevy Corporate to "push it through" (as if I'm going to get a better contact at a giant corporation than the people who work for the dealership). After a month of no updates and no progress, I submitted for a lemon law reimbursement that was stalled at every step, including being told they couldn't replace the car because there was nothing available to match the model that I bought. At one point the dealership apparently sat on paperwork for a week because "They thought this was already handled" despite they doing nothing. It took more than three months to finally settle and get my money back. "Ted Britt for Life" isn't a perk, it's a warning that you're stuck with their terrible service from the moment you drive off the lot. I also had to go through months of all the issues, with even trying to submit my request of charger station installation, that was also promised by the Ted Britt sales associate that he will handle the form submission,  which later I found out that it was not done. Now that my service agreement with these guys is finally complete. I'm done. I've had issue after issue dealing with Ted Britt to the point where Mr. Britt knows about me. It's been a bumpy road, but Ted Britt came through many times of promises not being kept, inaccurate service times, no updates, etc... dealing with my dog and the car shutting off for service work. The atrocious behavior I dealt with trying to get a simple oil change today shouldn't be tolerated by anyone in business. If this was my business, Mike Torian would be fired on the spot for the way he treated me if you keep reading there's a strong reason why he treated me the way he did and it's management's fault. It's pretty simple, Oil change, told it would be a couple of hours, brought it in at 9:30 am and it was 330pm and nothing had been done. I had to call 8 times just to get a sales manager to see what was going on. No one in service would answer. What was the response when I walked in? I was towered over by Mike attempting to steamroll over me asking "So what can I do for you, can I help you" after I contested the extra charges. Jason, check the cameras. It got so uncomfortable I asked the nice cashier lady to go get the sales manager or Jason. I was continually berated by Mike for almost 4 minutes "I'm the only person you can talk to now, what can I help you with" over and over again after repeatedly stating I needed to finish my conversation with Mark moving to the point of harassment I just got to the point where I stopped talking to him. Mark was apologetic, and the sales manager Dave was nice and understanding. I've never had such a hard road with a company before. It's a shame because after speaking with Mark the Service manager his words were "If I have to get involved, my service advisors are not needed." Jesus... Dropped my vehicle off on a Tuesday for some warranty service work. Was told it should be ready by that Friday. Friday comes around I get a call from Jason saying they had a part they were waiting on and now it would be Monday. Monday turns into Tuesday, Tuesday turns into Wednesday. Wednesday, Jason says it should be one or two more days. Thursday no luck, but should definitely be ready Friday. So today, Friday, I call and Jason says to come and get it about 5-15-pm and It will be ready. I'm on on my way when they call back saying it won't be ready. Now they are saying it will be Monday. It's already been a week and half since I dropped my truck off for what they said should be a 6 hour job. Super disappointed with this dealership and will never buy a vehicle from them again. BEWARE of additional "dealer fees". Each vehicle has specific additional dealer fees amounting to a substantial extra cost attached to the clearly listed "final price". These addition dealer fees are in addition to the window sticker additional fees, tax, license, title and registration fees. Back in the pandemic this extra cost associated to a vehicle purchase was clearly listed as a "market price mark-up". I was told that the dealership no longer would do business with me after I called out their pathetic business practices and informed them I would be pursuing Lemon Law litigation for my incredibly defective vehicle. Came in for an oil change on my car, the bay was empty when I pulled up for a simple oil change and tire rotation, no other customers around. The porter (Can't remember) the guys name was very friendly/professional. He told me that there was no service writer available (what?) so they could not take my car in. Then a minute later advises that they are having a company christmas party with all the techs so they need to wait until that's over. Probably one of the dumbest things I have ever heard in my life. Luckily one of the guys from the party comes down to write me up, then tells me they can't start on the work until the party is over. I wait in the lounge area for over 2 hours when I was told it would be done in about 45 minutes. Some thoughts to share with your business: 1- why would you have a company christmas party during company business hours and prohibit customers from getting assistance? 2- If your staff isn't around to help, just close shop for the day.
