Extremely disappointed with my experience at the Ted Britt Ford Service Department, particularly with service representative Ashley. Communication was terrible. My calls went unanswered, I was never kept informed about the status of my vehicle, and whenever I tried to get answers, I was repeatedly brushed off with dismissive responses of "I don't know," with seemingly no effort to actually find out what was happening with my vehicle. Even more concerning, my final service report states: "THESE SERVICES WERE RECOMMENDED BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR AND DECLINED BY THE CUSTOMER," specifically listing "MOUNT & BAL 3 TIRES." This is simply not an accurate account of my experience. That service was NEVER offered, discussed, or mentioned to me, and I never declined it. I cannot decline a service I was never told about. The final straw came when I needed my disabled vehicle towed. I was told I needed to push my own vehicle out of the service area AND UP A HILL so the tow truck could access it. Ashley offered no assistance and made no effort to find anyone to help me. Thankfully, a mechanic saw what was happening and stepped in to help. He was kind, professional, and appeared embarrassed when he realized I had been left to handle this on my own. I wasn't asking for special treatment--just basic customer service, communication, accurate documentation, and some compassion. Instead, I left feeling dismissed, disrespected, and extremely concerned that my service paperwork states I declined a service that was never even presented to me. Ted Britt Ford management should seriously review both how customers are being treated and how customer decisions are being documented. read more

I took my 2017 Ford Explorer (90k miles) in because it had a vibration when in gear but stopped. Otherwise, the car was fine when moving, in neutral, or park. Ted Britt's service department diagnosed it as a bad torque converter that damaged the transmission and claimed I had to either replace the transmission or completely rebuild it. The quoted $8000 for the new transmission or $7500 for a rebuild. They would also only give me $1500 trade-in value because the car needed a new transmission - only it didn't. I took it for a second opinion and it turns out the transmission and the torque converter are both fine. The engine mounts are the issue and need replacing - not exactly cheap but no where near the amount of money Ted Britt wanted for replacing the transmission. The other mechanic I took the car to asked me whether the engine light was on, whether the transmission clunked while driving - no for both. He immediately said, "it doesn't sound like a transmission problem." Within the hour I had the correct diagnosis from the other mechanic. Maybe Ted Britt service was having a bad day or maybe they're incompetent, or maybe worse. Regardless, I won't be back and I suggest you avoid them too. read more

Jordan Savoy is a lying sales manager. I brought a check from my credit union for the vehicle. I was forced to still fill out a credit application but was told three times by the sales manager (Jordan Savoy) was not going to pull my credit and that it was only to verify for fraud and they had to do it. The salesman returned a short time later with papers that showed my credit score and that they indeed did pull my credit. I approached the sales manager (Jordan Savoy) and told him he lied to me at least 3 times and he repeatedly said he didn't say he wasn't going to pull my credit. My wife and the salesman were both there and knew he had said this and was lying again in front of the showroom floor. He lied straight to my face once and then again at the showroom sales desk. This is the second vehicle I have bought from Ted Britt and the last because of this lying sales manager(Jordan Savoy). Both salesmen and everyone else were very good and polite. One bad Apple (Jordan Savoy) destroying this dealership's reputation. read more

Here's my take after taking my Ford here: Helpful staff, bad mechanics. Why? Brought my car in for two issues. Replace seat battery and fix windshield wiper fluid dispenser. When I got my car, the battery is fixed, but the windshield wiper fluid dispenser wasn't working still after they said it was OK. Luckily a lovely lady helped get it fixed quick but glad I didn't drive off. Otherwise, I'd still have the same issue. Thank you to the workers there and Ashley my helper, but was a little disappointed with that for sure. read more

Just no. The parts department here is horrible. They dont return calls to let you know your parts are in. They ignore you as you stand at the counter. They are not customer friendly and this is a customer service business. The atmosphere here is that we as customers are bothering them. What a disgrace. I wanted to trade-up on my 2023 Mach-E and had a TERRIBLE experience with a competitor. The next closest option was Ted Britt Ford... I emailed the sales department asking what they could do for me. I sent all pertinent info up front, stating that I would not stop by unless they could guarantee they wouldn't waste my time. The sales team reached out within a few hours and confirmed I should come in. I walked out with a trade-up in 1.5 hours. The purchase process was easy the whole way through and I am enjoying my upgraded Mach-E. read more

Honesty. Not telling a customer $10,000 in repair costs, but no parts available and asked customer to walk over to the sales showroom. Appointment was to program a 2012 Mustang Smart Junction Box. That wasn't done and was charged a diagnostic fee. Was told only being charged one diagnostic fee instead of two because I had asked about my battery. It's under warranty and they still charge a deductible every time i go even though it's the same problem that they can't figure out. Their communication with the customer is zero. Zero Updates along the way unless you ask for them and even then it's minimal. They wouldn't send me pictures of the original failure. They didn't even look into the codes at the first visit, and guess what they came right back. I have called and called and called, voicemails, emails, and ZERO RESPONSE FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER, ZERO RESPONSE FROM THE GM. Horrible business. Look at the BBB D- rating... I then sold the car to Carmax and emailed Peter Velasquez, Natasha Kapoor, and Saman Usodan multiple times. I filled out the proper paperwork to request my refund and have not heard back from them. This is extremely unfortunate, as this is a simple process; however they refuse to email me back or refund my money that I paid. UNETHICAL LIARS! We drove an hour to test drive a car but said, we are not going to come up to see it if it isn't available. The salesperson, Jennifer, assured us that it was. We drove up, test drove the car, said we were interested. They sent in their Used Car Sales Manager, Malcolm, to discuss pricing. He said he couldn't give us a final price until it was checked out by Mercedes. I purposefully asked, "We have this car? You are not going to sale it out from under us, are you?" Malcolm said, "No. I can't tell you a final price until the car comes back from Mercedes." He said he would have Jennifer call us as soon as it came back. We texted and called the salesperson EVERY day for an update. Even providing her with a per-authorization letter from the Credit Union. She said she didn't know when it was coming back, didn't have more information. They gave us the run around for over 3 weeks, didn't have the decency to call us, rather sent out a general email that the car was sold today. They are unethical sales people in their used car division under Malcolm's slimy management style. DO NOT TRUST OR BUY FROM TED BRITT FORD in Fairfax, VA. On Jan/21/ 2024, I met Jared Blumber who is working as a sales Consultant, he went and took the Honda CR-V out of snow, and it was covered by snow and gave me the key for a test drive. After the test drive, I liked the car and went inside to talk with them about the price, I was looking for certain figure and didn't came up with a deal and then I left and went and got lunch. I didn't see this damage and they didn't mention it. I would like to cancel the transaction. Both Jared Blumber and Brad the manager freaked out and said that please don't cancel the transaction we will fix it for you. Please bring it back any Sundays and we give you a loaner car and in few days our guy will drive it to Richmond to you and bring the loaner car back. On Jan/28/2024, I brought back the vehicle and met Brad the manager and dropped my vehicle and he gave me a Ford F-150 six-cylinder truck and he said that is all he got for me. On Monday Jan/29/2024, no one called me and then I called the dealer to talk with Jared the sales consultant. He said that they order the parts and it should take few days. Finally, after one and half month, Tommy drove my vehicle back to me I already told to my friends and families who are living in Richmond and NOVA tat ever never go to Ted Britt Ford dealer and never talk with Jared. Such a rude and unprofessional sales consultant. It was unpleasant experience. I hope no one face it from this dealer. read more

He didn't try sell me on services I didn't need. He communicated with me throughout the process , and made the whole process convenient and easy for me . I took my 2022 MACH 1 9k miles now, in because my transmission is faulty. After it was there for a day or two I spoke with the service writer and they asked me to come out and speak to the mechanic. So I drove there to speak with the mechanic and the mechanic claimed, he couldn't reproduce any problems. So I asked the Mechanic to go on a ride with me so that hopefully it would show the mechanic what was and what wasn't happening. The mechanic refused to g o on a test ride! So then I asked the mechanic why don't you put a data logger on it so you can see exactly what and when things were happening. The Mechanic refused and claimed that they don't do that. So in my experience and opinion, they made zero effort to diagnose my car and zero effort to make any repairs in my opinion this service department is horrible, terrible no Customer Service I have nothing good to say about this business. Also I had to pay Uber for a ride from Ted Britt do not care department. I asked about are there a loaner car or a ride and they said no my car is at Ourisman Ford in Manassas now with the same problems. They at least got me a free Uber ride home. They tried putting a new valve buddy on it, but that did not fix the problems. My impression is the 10R80 transmission due to it being part aluminum and part steel eats itself and then fills the valve body with the shavings and that's why some people think the valve body is the problem. I have seen many videos by different people where they demonstrate the valve body is poorly designed are made and the valves Stick and do not function properly. The Ford 10R80 and GM 10L80 are basically the same transmission that they developed together. The other known defects in the transmission are what's called the trashcan/clutch body that's made out of aluminum that again ends up getting eat up by the steel components. Another major known flaw/fault/poor design is the CDF drum again due to poor design self-destructs. another known failure is the P3 gear has bearings on one side, but not the other! It's steel rubbing on steel. I really do not understand how Ford and GM both could make such a poorly thought out and designed and built transmission. I I do not know if they were forced by the EPA or it was indirectly due to the EPA and that's why they used the light aluminum parts when they should've used steel or titanium. I took it into one dealer and Florida and two different appointments tried multiple different software updates and reboots to fix multiple different problems with the transmission and electronics. They said the transmission just needs time that it learns and I need to just Drive it home. Let it learn after months. I then took it to Ted Britt where they seem we did nothing and didn't care. I then took it to an independent service and repair shop and they said yes my transmission was faulty flaring, etc. and I needed to take it back to a dealer and get them to fix it under warranty. My car is still at Ourisman Ford Manassas. Hopefully they will put the latest upgraded and updated transmission in my car were bare minimum totally rebuild my transmission with the latest updated and upgraded parts while I have my doubts due to some of the questions and conversation I had last with the service writer there. They sold me a car that had life coverage in engine and transmission the only thing I needed to do was take it to do the oil change every 5,000 miles however they set up the warning light at 10,000 miles and when I realized I was doing over 6,000 miles with the same oil I called and they said my coverage was expired because I didn't take it into the shop with them when I had to. 5 stars for customer service from my rep Matt Payne. He kept me up to date on the progress of the truck, moved some things around for me to try to help keep costs down. Dug up a coupon for me as I had one but could not find it. 4 stars for the service itself. When I picked up my truck, when it was brought around for me, it had tree leaves all over it and I noticed some fresh mud splashes on my body frame near the wheel wells. That means someone test drove my truck as I JUST took it to the car was on the way over to drop off. 3 stars for advising me they discovered I had swollen nuts. Yes. You read that right. Seems the lug nuts on my truck became swelled and so they had to replace all of them. I'm happy to report my nuts never looked so good. read more

I didn't end up buying anything, but I did have a very positive impression of this Ford dealership from my visit. I came to look at Broncos and test drove a preowned 2 door which was fun. We discussed the ones on their lot, but both new and used ones were marked up a little too much for me. To my surprise I was told that if I had time, I could order one at MSRP with no games or markups. I just had to wait, and the duration depends on the particular build. At the time I asked about a 4 door base model with steel wheels, manual, and soft top. Apparently this version requires the shortest wait of about 3 months. Ultimately I bought a different brand vehicle, but if I'm ever in the market for a Ford, this is where I would come for the no nonsense approach. read more

They wont look at the vehicle for 1 week. They told me they sold it regardless of having agreed to hold it for me until this morning. The manager, Jon Halim, was absolutely no help. The salesman who sold it to me wasn't even here to tell me himself. Nobody called to notify me the van was sold so I drove all the way here to the dealership only to find out this morning they sold it out from under me. I went in looking to lease a Ford Edge, and the sales team were welcoming and accommodating - swindled me into the top of the line ST lol. However, two weeks after I drove the car off the lot, there were issues with the SYNC system and its touchscreen. Rightfully, I'm peeved because this is a brand new car, but I scheduled the appointment for a Saturday. Literally the day before my appointment, the service manager Brian calls me to say that they can't accept my car on Saturday. I have to bring it in on Monday. Irritated, I'm confused why they would schedule me for Saturday in the first place. He doesn't give me a reasoning, but gives me ATTITUDE instead. He ends up hanging up on me while I'm trying to reschedule. I escalated the issue to one of the managers, and ended up getting my car service the following week. I wasn't offered anything for my inconvenience, which puts a bad taste in my mouth about their customer service, but I was relieved to have just gotten it fixed. But to top it all off, another two weeks later, the same issue I was having with the vehicle resurfaces. I call into the service department, and their staff has nothing but bad attitudes. Poor customer service is the absolute worst turn off for me, and it shouldn't just be instilled with the salespeople. I would never recommend this place to anyone, and I regret leasing form here. read more

Soon after my husband died, I went to Ted Britt Ford in Fairfax to buy a used Ford F-150 truck I saw online. I was excited to buy the truck. Soon after I returned home I found a few things were not pointed out to me during the walk around. One major problem was that the hydraulics on the bed cover was broken. There was some back-and-forth but Used Car Manager Brian Foster, salesperson Arsham Shoberianand and Service Advisor Zach Lalande were very patient and diligent in having this fixed to my satisfaction. I am very frustrated with this Ford service location. I took my 2013 Ford F150 to this Ford dealership thinking they were capable of solving the problem. After they had the truck for 20 weeks and four days I became convinced they were not going to able to fix the issue so I picked up the vehicle with absolutely no satisfaction from the dealership. After being a customer of Ted Britt since 1980, I have lost all confidence in the dealership being my "go to" place for sales and service. The truck started receiving a battery warning light within 30 seconds of starting the engine. I took the truck to a respected mechanic who checked the battery and charging system finding no problems, but the warning light still came on. I then discovered on my own that if I used the remote start function on the key fob then the warning light never appeared. I believed that the best chance to correct the problem would be at the service location for Ford, since they are Ford trained and have full access to Ford vehicle information. So I took the truck to Ted Britt Ford Service in Fairfax, Virginia. I explained the situation in detail and awaited resolution. After many weeks of not getting information, I had to finally call the Service Director to get any kind of update. Subsequently, communication was sporadic at best. According to the paperwork they checked the charging system and the battery, replaced the instrument cluster, talked with Ford engineer, checked wiring from BMS sensor to Body Control Module, replaced BMS sensor, replaced generator monitor wire to PCM, replaced connector end at generator, and swapped new generator, all with no impact on the warning light behavior. The paperwork also says "customer decided to take vehicle with no further diag." What diagnostics were not done during the more than twenty weeks in the shop. With the warning light, the truck will not pass inspection. Without an inspection, the registration cannot be renewed. Therefore, the truck will not be legal to drive even though it is still in great condition. So far, a phone call to the General Manager has not been returned. read more

Brought my car in for simple services: tire balance and rotate and to perform an update. Picked up the car and realized that while the tires were rotated, it's hard to believe they were balanced as the tire pressures were all off and were not filled appropriately. Furthermore, they did not perform the required computer update. Unfortunately this is yet another poor quality Ford Service Center. If I can't trust you to perform minor work properly, you're certainly not going to have my car for anything major. read more

I would avoid this dealer at all costs as it relates to service. There are plenty of other dealers in the area who I am sure will provide better service. My vehicle was in for warranty work (they had it for over 3 weeks) to replace a part in the dash. When they made the repair they damaged the interior breaking fasteners on trip pieces and must have used a screw driver or something sharp to pry panels away from the dash gouging the leatherette material on the dash. Spoke with the service advisor who said they would get things taken care of and never heard back. Reached to the service manager who multiple times with no return calls, stopped by the dealer to speak with the service manager who was unavailable multiple times, and even contacted Ford customer service who also did nothing to resolve the issues. Def won't buy another Ford again and especially from this dealer. read more

The service department sucks. Took F-150 in Monday 10/17 to check ABS warning and according to Keith our service person can't diagnose the problem until electrical computer module ECM Is replaced. That's a couple thousand before the ABS issue can be diagnosed Part was supposed to be in Thursday 10/20 didn't hear from anyone. Called Keith Friday left messages but he can't be bothered to return calls. Now I think they are liars about ECM has to be replaced. Just of review is the entire service department SUCKS. read more

Ted Britt used cars completely strong armed my family today. We are so excited to buy a family SUV with our third child in the way. We realized after negotiating that the car was going to be more than we wanted to spend. We explained that and while we'd signed the contract we asked to back out. We wanted to work with them on an alternative but in typical sleazy used car salesman fashion they were more interested in a single sale than delighting a customer.
