I absolutely love this park. PROS: Huge, lots of trees, very well maintained, hills, creek, clean lake, hiking/walking trails, basketball courts, baseball fields, volleyball, racquetball, playgrounds, and bike trails. CONS: They charge for parking inside the park. Park on the street at your own risk. Also on the weekends it can get crowded and loud, mostly due to a few Mexicans blasting their annoying Mariachi music from their trucks. The bathrooms aren't that clean either, but hey no big deal I guess it is a public park. read more

A nice well kept park for picnicking, walking the dog, jogging, biking through, or just a nice stroll by the lake to feed the ducks. There are baseball diamonds, lots of open fields, some nice hills & playgrounds of course. Lots of trees along the walkways too. There is a fee but there are a couple of places you can park just outside the park and just walk in. There is a residential street off of State College just before the entrance of the park, or you can park on Associated Rd across from the dam entrance with all the gravel. There is a paved walkway going down into the park from there. read more

This park gets better the more you come, at least it did for me. I didn't think much of this park at first, then as I discovered all the different areas, I was quite impressed. There are facilities like the racquet ball courts and volleyball courts, which you don't usually find at other parks. You can use the racquet ball courts to practice your tennis strokes. The paved walking paths and bike trails are pretty extensive and there is good variation in elevation from the "rolling hills" unlike your typical parks, which I appreciate. However, the so called "hiking trail" at the southern end of the park is so pathetic that I can't believe they even call it a hiking trail. It takes all of 10 minutes (maybe even less) to finish that hike... A lot of places to fish, not just at the pond but by the stream/creek as well. The whole park is quite big and there are plenty of areas with enough privacy to enjoy a peaceful day at the park. I even see people here at night, biking in pitch dark! read more

Came here an hour before closing. Still had to pay $3 for parking, which is fine. But at 8:30, we weren't able to use the restroom because it was locked. We were with two kids who had to use the bathroom. We asked the park ranger if he could open it and he said no because he had to go to the tri city park and then go home. If it was a free park, I'd be okay but the fact that I paid money to get in and not be able to use the facilities really irritated me. Then we left around 8:55 since we all had to use the restroom and the place where we came in was closed and there was a sign to use the other exit but we had no clue how to get there and there were no signs. We drove through a DARK park for a good 5 mins. Not going back again. read more

Craig Park is beautiful! Rolling hills, a lake, creeks, endless walkways, playgrounds, and a sports complex. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy here. This park oasis is less than a block away from Brea Mall. Since this is a regional park, there is a parking fee-$3 on weekdays and $5 on weekends and holidays. Tip 1-Plan to spend the day at the park. Take a picnic, a blanket, bikes, roller skates, etc. The family will have tons to do. Tip 2-If you dont plan on spending the whole day at the park, park outside and skip paying the parking fee. If you have kids and/or you plan on spending the whole day at the park, pay the parking fee. The park is 120+ acres and there are several areas you'll want to explore. read more

Orange County has some amazing parks. There, I said it. I tend to be hypercritical of life behind the Orange Curtain, but I must give credit where credit is due, and so many of these 714 regional parks are beautiful, well maintained, accessible, and just plain spectacular. Extended-family picnics are really fun there. There's plenty of room to run around, and they haven't skimped on the park-party creature comforts. What's more fun than playing baseball with the cousin who's twenty-seven years your senior? Why, reaching base safely on a single, "stealing" second, getting driven in by your cousin's goliath shot to right field, and almost getting run over by him because even though he just hit a home run, he's still running like he's trying to stretch a double into a triple. I never knew he could run that fast! Park designers with limited space: It's all about rolling hills. Just keep adding the rolling hills, and your park will look bigger. Trust me, I know. read more

I have visited this park countless times throughout my life. This park has parking, but you have to pay an entry fee. Many people park on the street outside the park on State College, but this can get crowded. You can also park further down on Rolling Hills Drive near The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and walk down the hill and you'll be in the far end of the park by the basketball courts and volleyball nets. This park is quite diverse and is equipped for people to participate in various activities. You can fish at the lake, play volleyball at the court, play basketball, baseball, run, walk, or take your children to the playground. You can even arrange with the park staff members to reserve a spot to throw a party or barbecue. read more

Okay, I should warn you that my memories of this place are cloudy at best. My friend, who lives down the street from here, came back after having moved to the UK for a few years. So, I go to visit him and we drink this wonderful elixir he picked up in Spain. (It is essentially, wine and Coca-Cola; and, don't knock til you try it). After having a decent buzz going, we walk to this park and played some basketball and played some soccer. Raced up the hills. We tried playing handball with a basketball, but that didn't work out so well. But, we did this all in the middle of the night and the park was so huge the cops didn't see us or bother us at all. Pretty nice park! Came here for a birthday party. $5+ at the entrance, but you can tell they really keep this place nice n clean w/the money. This park is really spacious, no two parties are ever that close together to feel cramped. Clean bathrooms but no soap at the sinks, what gives?! I don't know how much this park has to offer, since I didn't really go exploring much and stuck to the festivities, but I liked what I saw. read more

I always drove by Craig Park, but never actually went in until a couple of weeks ago. I parked on the street outside of the park, because otherwise, you have to pay for parking, and it just isn't worth it. I mean, it's not Disneyland. I think you can also park at The Hat. They had a really extensive trail for walking, which was good and everything was really green and nice. FYI, my rating is based on the playground. The main reason that I went to the park was for the playground, and yeah, i'm 24, but i've been wanting to play on a playground for the longest time. There were two playgrounds that I saw, but they were both small. There were about six swings that even adults could ride, which was a big plus. And one of the playgrounds had a pretty big slide that I was able to get on and a round jungle gym. But whatever happened to the days of see-saws and merry-go-rounds? I remember the good old days when playgrounds were huge! But not so much anymore, especially in Orange County. So it was fun, but I would have preferred a larger playground with monkey bars and some extras. read more

Nice park with lotsa picnic tables and 3 different play areas for kids. There's also a bike path you can use but it's kinda hilly so expect a bit of a workout. Very family friendly. Not too expensive for a day of fun ($5 entrance fee). read more

Sometimes I come here to run the 2.2 mile loop. Other times I just come to hang with the ducks and connect with my inner Blair Waldorf. Either way, I love this place. Free parking outside is not difficult to come by, and paved trails are a combination of flat and hilly for an excellent workout. The people who work here take really good care of the park, it is huge and the bushes look happy and green! I always see people having picnics and birthday parties here. When I run at 7am, I see a bunch of old people couples...they are so cute and always wave "Good morning"! read more

I like the trails. I like the trees and the overall layout of the park. If you are there for a picnic, there are plenty of tables. If you want a job, there are some nice hidden trails and paved ones as well. There are people walking their dogs and I've never been bothered here. Tip: grab lunch at The Hat restaurant just half a block up the street and have a picnic. read more

This park was really awesome! Ended up here for a random barbecue with friends and it turned out to be really nice. The road was windy and I have no idea how you would coordinate a spot other than how we did it (first one on the right). It was cold and windy so we had no trouble finding a few benches and grill. The grill condition was so-so, it was rusty but otherwise clean and with the ashes cleaned out. The park looked super nice with plenty of green grass, trees, creeks, paths. Lots of people were out walking their dog or going for a job. Trash cans were kept emptied and the park ranger people were driving by often. I guess the $5 parking fee pays off. The only real problem was the entrance. Going north, it's hidden by cars and you don't even see the sign until you're either at the entrance driving past or, like me, turning blindly when your GPS says "TURN RIGHT, TURN RIGHT." Going south it's hidden by a hill and some more cars. read more

Boo on this park. Seriously you only have one spot for kids to have a jungle gym with almost no parking near it, no picnic tables near it, and the main road within 30 yds of it? Talk about a horrible planner/architect! granted you have a little pond some tennis courts and a few baseball diamonds... but this park was laid out very poorly. Nothing seems easy to get to (lots of hills to hike up coolers/food/etc to) whereas all the other parks that I have been to have had easy transitions from the parking area to the picnic/shelter areas. I was very disappointed with this particular part and rated it accordingly. read more

This park is just gorgeous and huge. There is a mini lake with alot of ducks and other exotic birds plus from what i saw, like about 3 big playgrounds and a sports area. This place is perfect for birthdays and events. This park does allow dogs but there are signs that they must be leashed, which is reasonable because you can come across a duck randomly walking next to you or behind you. Pricing is very reasonable; I am absolutely sure they use this to keep maintance for the park which is absolutely worth coming by and viewing this beautiful park. read more

Free parking on streets. There is always space somewhere. Racquetball courts, basketball courts, hiking/ jogging trails. A lake. Many different playgrounds. I've been going here since I was a little girl. I've seen weddings, birthday parties, family reunions. Great place to bring the kids, dogs, go on a date. Bags for dog poop are readily available. I recommend you go to show support for public parks. read more

I usually come here after work for a nice jog and not worry about traffic hitting me. It's a huge park so you can run around and get tired before actually seeing everything. That's good so you don't get bored out of your mind seeing the same things over and over again. There are many options for activities there...including tennis walls that can be used as wall ball walls...I haven't seen those since middle school! It's great because there are paved paths, asphalt roads and a small dirt path, so if you care about what surface you're running on, then you can choose. Also, it's a good mix between flat land and hills so there's variety in elevation as well (running wise). There's also the dark abyss where coyotes live! Not really though, but there's a part that goes beyond the tall reeds and I've never been back there, but there's a sign that says coyotes present...or something like that. There are so many picnic tables everywhere that I can't imagine that there are actually sign ups for them (I guess they get filled up over the summer holidays.). But the sign ups aren't mandatory, I think. Since I go after work, it's usually a weekday and MOST of the people I see out there are the diligent fitness people who actually take the effort during the week to get some exercise. A lot of people bring their pets and if you don't have a pet, there is also a nice slew of different species of birds around there. I wonder why they don't just fly away, because I've never seen a stork by the train station or anything. Also, the best and worst part is the bathrooms places all over the park. It's the best because when I'm going for a jog, and I'm at the other end of the park from the entrance, I don't have to run all the way back to take a leak...I just have to run to the next bathroom. The reason why it's the worst is because of this: back when I discovered this park, the Larry Craig scandal was happening. And the name of this park is Craig Park. And the bathroom stalls are pretty empty since it's out in the boonies of the park. So...Larry Craig...Craig Park...bathroom stalls...yeeeah... But overall, it's a good park. read more

Craig Park is an awesome park to come walk, run, go on a picnic, take the kids to the playground, and just relax. It's a fairly large park and you can easily get lost in here. The area is kept very clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, it's not free to get in, but I'd say it's worth the price of admission. You can also purchase a season pass. If that's not something you want to do, you can also park outside on the street, but it fills up fast. read more

LOVE Craig Park. Living down the street, we come here pretty often to take the pup for walks and to get some good hill-y walking in. As far as I'm concerned, the best entrance is on the East side of the park off of Associated. It's WAY less crowded street-parking than the State College side (next to The Hat), and while you do have to cross Associated to get in, it's worth it. Otherwise, you're looking at a parking fee to drive your car inside. There's a couple playgrounds--one on the East side and one on the West. Inbetween are MANY rolling hills to walk (or run) up and down and get some exercise in! There's tons of shade to have a picnic, and lots of different paths to walk. There's a manmade lake on the East side as well--sort of next to the playground and some baseball fields. They also offer some covered shelters to use by reservation only--they'd be great for a kid's birthday party or family reunion! All around VERY clean for a park--And definitely peaceful too! read more

There are several ponds with sucks which I see people fishing in, there's several playgrounds for children, softball and football fields, basketball and tennis courts. There is so much to do! Used Shelter#2 for our son's 1st birthday. Love that there are bathrooms, playground, horseshoes, etc all a stone's throw away. Was expensive to reserve ($125 for the entire day) but worth the piece of mind of making sure we had a roof over some tables in case it got too hot. Just know there is dirt all around the cement floor of the shelter so can get dirty or muddy if it rains before/during your event. There was a water spiket right nest to the shelter too which was nice to fill some baby pools for the party festivities. The park is wonderful too, we love to walk the park on weekends since we live nearby and can walk in for free if you park on the street. read more

It's a beautiful park. You have the option of parking on the street outside or paying to park inside. It had a lot of hills so be prepared to do a lot of walking if you park outside. It's not busy and because it's on a hill it does have a breeze which makes it chilly. read more

My family and I love this park. First, the setting is peaceful and feels reasonably removed from the city surrounding it. The grounds have many quiet, shady places to set up camp for a few hours of relaxing in nature. Second, this park is wonderful for a walk or jog. There are many paths and little hills to add some challenge and interest. Third, it's very clean. I hate seeing a lot of litter while I'm at the park, or ever really, so the fact that for whatever reason I've not seen a mess there is a big positive for me. Finally they have a great selection of playgrounds. Each one is different from the others with clean and engaging equipment that will keep your little ones entertained for hours. Bring a blanket and some snacks, your kids and your pups and pass a lovely day at this park. read more

I wanted to explore a different trail for a walk. I am a teacher and my motto for this summer is free, cheap, or groupon. During the week the parking is $3... So it fits with my cheap motto. There appears to more than one trail, but I stuck with the paved one. There wAs enough shade provided by trees, a pretty pond, courts to play on, playground equipment for little people, and the perimeter of the park was just enough to get in a decent workout. Next time I will have to explore the dam trail that you can catch at the back of the park. read more

The park is beautiful - but BEWARE. I used to walk the entire park every morning for many years. I always parked on St. College. I had noticed many mornings there would be shattered glass in the street and figured someone was broken into the night before. One morning when I came back from my walk my passenger side window was smashed and my purse was gone (it was covered and under the seat, but they probably watched me do it). I immediately called the police and then my bank. I had learned the thieves had used my card within ten minutes at a gas station on Imperial in front of Home Depot. And then went on to the Ralph's on Rose and ran up a huge bill. My card had been cancelled before they could use it anywhere else. Yes, I was dumb and left my purse in my car. Lesson learned. I didn't know thieves were waiting and watching me and others leave their car. They know you will be gone a while and even in daytime, with people around, they are so fast and work as a team they've been able to do it over and over and over. To the thieves: GET A JOB. I hope someone takes something valuable from you. 'Do unto others' was apparently a lesson you never learned. Immediately after the robbery when I learned where my card was used, I went to the gas station and spoke with the clerk hoping to find out if the thieves were caught on camera. Apparently this was something the police weren't wiling to do. I found out the cameras at that time were only on the inside. And learned they were able to use my card without a PIN as this station only requires your zip code and the thieves had my DL with my address. I then went to the Ralph's they had gone to right after. Since the purchases are time and location stamped my hope was they could review their security footage and possibly identify the thieves. They were nice and allowed me to review it with them. Unfortunately, when they found the exact time the view of the thieves was mostly covered by hanging banners and the cameras were aimed at the cashier (to protect the store, not the customer) so we could not make an ID. I didn't think at the time, nor did the store manager offer to look at the outside cameras, it may be they didn't have any at the time? I saw on a recent review for the park the thieves are still at it. This is why I no longer come to this park. - Don't leave any valuables in your car. - The park should put up security cameras aimed at the street in front of the park to hopefully catch the thieves and deter them from doing it again. - Until this park and/or local police do something to remedy this issue, I won't return to the park. read more

I would give this place a 0 if I could. This is text from an email I wrote regarding my experience at the park... I am writing to express my disappointment in visiting your park today. I was set to enjoy a wonderful holiday with family but upon entering the park my experience was less than pleasant. I paid 7.00 for the parking and asked where lot 4 was located. I was directed by the staff member at the booth. What i was not told was that i would not be able to park there and instead be re routed to a much further distant area of the park. Had That been explained to me from the beginning, I would have elected to park in the street while there was still availability to do so. Then, I asked another staff member if i can simply enter an area that was marked " full" just to unload heavy items from my car. To that, the response was NO and i was told again that i would have to go to a remote area of the park which was a significant distance to where my family was located. Was I supposed to carry those heavy items that distance? After driving around the park for literally 1 hour, i decided to head back to the pay booth and request a refund. I was told again NO, refunds are not allowed. So as Im exiting the park, I stop to ask a 3rd staff member where I could park publicly in the street based on my family's location inside the the park. I cannot even begin to explain how painfully rude this staff member was to me. I felt as if i was being verbally attacked by your male staff member. Needless to say, I will never frequent this park again. The lack of customer service and people skills the employees display is a disappointment. I strongly urge the director or lead Ranger of this park to consider additional training and support for its employees. read more

This park is HUGE but parking is Scares. The Lake is cool to walk around and just to chill in the shade. The hills are cool to walk here and there but that means the bathrooms are spread out FAR and being that parking is limited "Don't drink or eat a lot" lol . Over all the park is nice and relaxed and the price is $5 on the weekend and $3 during the week. read more

I frequent this park with my son at least once a week. It is a really pretty, spacious, well-maintained park. The thing I come to do here is jog, while pushing my son in his jogging stroller, and at the end of our jog I let him play on one of the playgrounds for a bit. I like jogging the path that circles the perimeter of the park because it is exactly two miles long and goes up a few hills, what a great work-out! My son enjoys the ride and checking out the ducks in the lake, and smiling at any pretty girls we may pass (he's already a little flirt). I highly recommend this park for jogging, picnicking, or taking kids to playground (there are three different ones spread throughout the park). Tip: I believe it's about 2 or 3 dollars to park @ the parking lot. Save money by parking on State College Blvd. & get your walk on! read more
