But I opened the back door a couple of days ago and two of the strings had fallen -- the hook holding them to the house had pulled out of the stucco. I immediately called and Nick was amazing. He asked for a couple of pictures of what had happened and had someone out here today (48 hrs later) to fix it. Alex texted with an accurate ETA and the job got done perfectly. I very specifically asked the owner to be very careful with them and not to scratch the brushed nickel bases. Later he called back and said he couldn't swap the USB ports because they were too different. I said ok, let's just fix the original one then. A week and half went by, while I waited around with no bedside table lamp in my bedroom. When I finally called back myself to ask if it was ready, he said he had told me he couldn't do the repair. "Huh?," I said. "You only told me you couldn't swap them. I thought you were still fixing the original lamp." He made some very confusing excuses for why it wasn't done, and kept repeating "different." I gave up and said I was coming to pick up the lamp to take somewhere else. When I got there, the base of the new lamp was scratched up and the base of my original lamp was dented and scratched!!! He insisted he only touched the bottom portion. Ok, well, both lamps were in perfect condition when I dropped them off!!!!! There was no dent before!! I'm extremely upset because this was a unique arched lamp that took me a very long time to find when I bought it two years ago and it was my perfect bedside table lamp. I won't be able to find another one like it because it's discontinued. And now it's ruined!!! I really cannot recommend enough that people stay away from this place.

I've had lamps in for repairs elsewhere before, and they've been in the shop for about a week, so I couldn't believe how fast this was. I knew they had shades, but I didn't know they had this kind of selection. Hundreds in every shape size and color scattered around the room, so there was no problem finding the perfect one. I don't live near there, but it's close enough that if I ever have another issue with a lamp, I'm coming straight here.

I went to Holiday Fantasies Come To Life house this week to check out their Halloween magic. It was so awesome and perfect for Disney fans. This house was absolutely Disney-fied from head to toe, with ghouls and ghosts galore. I was in love with all of the lights. Not only was the entire house decorated BOOtifully for Halloween, but they had character actors there. They even had a hot dog vendor on site! So LA and I love it. Important to note though, this is someone's house. It's not a business or a shop, but they do accept donations to keep their fun going! This house's decorations are awe inspiring and I loved it! Their lights double for the Christmas Holiday season so make your way over there for some cheer.

I've seen life sized characters in costumes which includes Mickey Mouse, Captain Hook, Cruella Deville, Maleficent, and the witch in Snow White. I do understand that different characters perform routinely. I saw Captain Hook perform a fire dance in amazement of the crowd. Just like any other houses in Burbank, it's free to visit but they do ask people to donate voluntarily. There's also a photo opportunity to get a photo with the characters also free of charge.

My wife asked for recommendations from our old neighbors and several recommended Burbank Electric. Wayne came to our house within a day or two and looked at the panel, but also walked around with me and talked about other things I wanted to do. I was clear that some things might be some time before we could do or some things were just early ideas at this point, but Wayne listened, took notes, explained a couple of ways. But it never felt rushed or like he was eager to make a sale or talk me into anything, it was just a conversation with a really pleasant guy who knew a thing or two about electrical systems. (He also said he knew a few people he'd recommend for some of the smaller work, people who could handle the smaller jobs at a lower rate and might be able to fit us into the schedule quicker.) A few days later, we had two quotes - one for the immediate work to replace the panel and a second for the "larger" future project. We confirmed we wanted to move forward on the immediate project. He estimated it would be about a days' worth of work and he had an opening in his schedule about a week later. We cleared space and prepared for a day without power, but he did the work in such a way that most of our house still had power almost the entire time. As predicted, it took most of the day to install and then at the end, he worked to help me figure out where all the circuits went. We will totally be calling Wayne and Burbank Electric for our future electrical work.
