Friendly and efficient. I had the opportunity to meet the owner who did my appraisal.

Our car was damaged over the summer and was towed to this body shop. There were calls placed weekly or every two weeks to inquire the Status of our car requesting a callback which we were never called. I had to call our insurance company to hopefully provide updates. The receptionist one female and one male answered the phone mostly and we gave our number to them requesting an update. They said we'll call you back in 5 minutes. They never call you back. Customer service at this auto body is horrible! I would not recommend this company all they did is make excuses and never provided a full explanation of the repair, even demanding payment when the deductible was already paid in full. read more

This is the worst experience I've ever had in my life. Terrible customer service. I had my car for six weeks. It should've taken one week to fix. They never informed me that the car was finished, so I ended up with over two weeks of extra rental car expense not covered by my insurance (since the car was done !!) The only reason I found out my car was actually finished, was the enterprise loaner car agent called me to find out why I never returned the car. When I went to pick up my car they screamed at me and denied that they did not inform me that my car was ready even know they had multiple contact phone numbers for me for work, cellular, and email. The owner and his wife were rude and used inappropriate language with me. Then they refused to take my credit card to pay my deductible. They insisted that they only be paid with $1000 in cash which is the amount of my deductible. When I discuss with the owner that I didn't have $1000 in cash on me he told me where I can go to the ATM. When I said to him I would use my credit card and I cash he screamed at me and threw me out of his shop even though it was a pouring rain storm. I had to take an Uber home! Not only is the shop disgusting and dirty, the owner and his wife are rude and they live. It is also disgusting that they insisted on being paid in cash from me as a customer after they made so many errors. I had to actually involve the adjuster and his manager from progressive insurance in order to get my car back. They literally were holding it hostage! I would never even contemplate using this shop again even if they were the last place in the state or on the planet! read more

Owner is friendly & warm but after asking me my name for an estimate he put his hand in my shoulder and asked me, "how long have I been in this country?"!!!!!! After telling him I was born here he was surprised and then asked me what my nationality was. Nationality is American - thank you very much! How do you ask those types of questions in NY in this day and age?! Besides the racism, his quote was also much higher than another auto body place in Ardsley! read more

They keep your vehicle for ever because they want to squeeze every pennies they can get from the insurance, and when the insurance stops, they try to squeeze your wallet. The owner refuse to let my vehicle go, had to call the cops but they can't do anything since it's a civil matter. The policeman told me that he couldn't believe that guy, and suggested me to take the owner to court. Will be in contact with Travelers, and will make sure to have this shop removed from their list. read more

Work was fine. Took a while though because parts weren't in. They also seemed very interested in knowing about my insurance policy before they gave me a quote -- I couldn't understand why that was necessary -- they said it's standard practice -- maybe there are right. They were a little intimidating too -- publicly displaying their rightist policial views. And I agree with a previous post -- that the main guy is not very friendly or perhaps not able to understand that not all Americans are white. read more

The most disorganized, irresponsible business you'll ever have the displeasure of working with. This is not a comment on their body and paint repair, which seems to be satisfactory. It's a comment on their complete lack of communication, responsiveness, organization, etc. I spent nearly a year of visits trying to get a written estimate; I'd drop by every few months, they'd promise to send a written estimate, and nothing would ever come. I'd return, and with no record of my previous visit we'd start all over, with Ted making notes on the back of a napkin. I finally asked if I could email and get a response that way; he gave me his daughter's (I think?) email address, but all I've ever received in response is to be included on some massive email list of bad and/or off-color jokes. I've taken my business elsewhere, and I suggest the same for others. read more

For about 40 years I I've known Mr. Michael Martone. Than I had a new Volvo 244DL with witch I had a big accident took it to M.A. Body to be repaired and they did such a good job that I fell in love with them. Since then I had a number os cars and for everything I only trust that auto body in 2000 somebody hit my 7 months old Mercedes I was so bad that the all rear of the car was destroyed and had to be replaced from the middle post between doors to the back again Martone did the repair and was so perfect that until today it looks like it just came from the dealer as new. I also need to tell any one about the painter at Martone he is such a great professional that for sure I can say he is the very best I have known. Usually I change cars every 2 to 3 years and the only place I trust for my vehicles is Martone Auto Collision. Thank you Mike. You can be sure I would not say this if it was not the honest truth. Ted is a pro and extremely courteous. He does excellent work. He has repaired 2 vehicles, one with extensive damage, and I have been very satisfied. Would not bring my auto body work anywhere else. There are insurance agents on premises, so estimates are very easily obtained. Ditto for a rental car. read more

I have had work done here and not only are the repairs on my car PERFECT but the vibe in the shop is 'family-like'. I enjoy going somewhere that the owner knows your name and gives you a hug and tells a funny joke. The main thing to highlight is that the work done on my car is great! Front bumper looks perfect and another time my side view mirror had to be replaced; also done exactly the way I wanted and with options. All done in excellent timing and I appreciate service with a smile:) This is my preferred auto body shop for many reasons - go check it out and you will see too. I brought in a performance car that had peeling clear coat and some spotting of rust and other dings. The car had a custom paint job. Many other shops were scared to take on the work in Westchester as the paint was a custom paintjob and they felt matching the silver metallic and the blue color would be too hard. They looked at some rust that was bubbling through the paint and firmly declined to do such a repair. I brought the car to several places in White Plains, they wouldn't take on the challenge. I showed Ted the areas of concern, the rust spotting, and the custom stripe that needed to be re-sprayed. He was confident, and his Team competent. Several pictures of the work showed blending of the fiberglass into the hood to level it out, areas of metal work on the hatch where welding metal into the panel was needed - the result is a beyond factory smooth finish and a deep luster. Not just the plain old get your replacement parts, flex spray, prime and finish on this car! Pin-stripping was laid down that is flawless. This Mustang looks better than new from Ford! I have been using Ted Herrmann's Auto Body for about 25 years. Besides an occasional fender bender with my two cars and my wife's I have 2 boys who kept Ted busy over the years. I can only say that Ted is one of the sweetest most honest, straight forward auto body specialists I have ever worked with. Several of my cars are exotics and once I was hit so badly I thought the car was going to be trashed but Ted brought it back from the brink and if at all possible it actually ran better when I got it back then before the hit... Excellent job. I have had two unfortunate incidents with my Jeep in the last few years (both not my fault) that resulted in damage to the same (drivers side) of my car - from the doors up to the grill. Which puts me in a unique position to compare a lousy, terrible job from one auto body shop - and a FANTASTIC job from Ted Herrman's - on the same area of the car. I live in NYC and brought my car into a local shop (Auto Care East on 94th St) after the first incident a few years ago. To make a long story short, I was left with a persistent, annoying wind noise at highway speeds, loose parts on the frames of the doors, and even the entire interior panel of the door separating from the frame! Fast forward to my second incident in which I brought my car to Ted Herrman's (which I knew b/c my parents live in Westchester and are customers). THE CAR IS LIKE NEW NOW. Wind noise - gone! Doors are intact and solid. No rattling, loose parts, anything. Paint perfectly blended with rest of car. There is nothing like the sound of a quiet cabin after being deprived of it for almost two years. I can't recommend this place enough! Very satisfied! read more

What a nightmare! I do not suggest using this place. My car had been hit by a motorcycle in NYC and the biker's insurance company was paying for all the damage. When I picked up the car, the engine was revving high and the car was bucking. When I called the place to say there was something wrong, they never returned my call. A couple hours later, I also found a dashboard/electrical outage and called them, still no return call. Through the insurance company, I was told to bring the car back. When I did, they pushed my av socket down into the dashboard and exposed some wires. The technician exclaimed, "Oh, I see! When the bike hit your car and the door hit your dashboard, the wire got loose and we just need to open the panel and reconnect the outlet.". Two minutes later, I was standing right behind Ted Herrmann as he told the insurance company (after they authorized the repair) that this was not accident related and said, "This woman is kinda crazy". I told Progressive Insurance company that I will not be going there anymore, that I want to go to my dealership. If you are a woman or a cancer patient or a human being, don't patronize this business. They got paid a lot of money, didn't complete the work and totally disrespected me. Based on this incident, Progressive Insurance is going to remove them as an approved repair shop. read more

As far as auto body goes, Ted is as straightforward and easy to deal with as its gets. The work is excellent. The price right. It's a bit old school in term of clutter, etc, but it's not a restaurant after all. Expect great work, fair price from a nice gentleman. read more

The work seems pretty good, but the business office is almost inaccessible to anyone who can't climb a really rickety set of outdoor stairs, and the inside is a complete mess. Also, the office is plastered with anti-Obama cartoons and a veritable shrine to Mitt Romney. I know that's got nothing to do with fixing cars, but it seems inappropriate in a business setting, especially since customers don't see this inner sanctum until they're about to pay their bill.
