I have been going to them for maintenance service for my 2 cars for a year and counting... They are transparent with their findings and offer checkpoint service so you can see for yourself you aren't being ripped off... The second time I brought my car in, I requested they do an overall diagnostic (brakes, tires, oil, filters) along with repairing my AC. They referenced the previous repair notes and said that I don't need brakes done but couldn't tell me anything about my oil or tires although that information should have been recorded in the notes. I took my vehicle to Valvoline shortly after for an oil change and they checked everything and replaced filters for a little over $100. Ted Wiens charges a $65 diagnostic fee and a high labor fee per hour. Repairs will cost you and arm and leg but they communicate well and do good work read more

I called the Blue Diamond Location last week and spoke to Mitch to schedule an oil change for this past Saturday @ 11:00 am. On this conversation I advised that my Camaro SS needs 10 quarts of synthetic oil and to be sure that all 10 quarts were there for my appointment. I arrived at 10:45am and was told that they only had 5 quarts of the oil that I needed and I would have to wait over an hour for the other 5 quarts to be delivered. Then another hour for them to complete the job since I was out of my appointment time. NEEDLESS to say I was fuming. I did my due diligence to make sure they were ready for my appointment but NO ONE did anything about their due diligence to make sure they were ready for my appointment. You lost a customer and a bill of around $150-- not sure how any business can be that lazy and lose customers. I am going to post this on YELP so others can avoid this disaster. This should be your new mechanic! I have been thru the wringer with different mechanics trying to find out where this sound was coming from in my car. Each time they would do something and it wouldn't fix it and I would be stuck with another huge bill. Finally I stumbled across Ted Wiens. After looking at the reviews of this place I said I'd give it a try. Boy am I so glad I did! Randy, James, and Mitch have all been amazing! They were less than I had been quoted from other places so already a good start. Then after diagnosing/fixing what we thought was the problem they told me it was actually alternator. I was ready for the same song and dance I had gotten from the other guys saying it wasn't their fault and sticking me another bill for something that didn't fix my problem. I was so freaking surprised and grateful when they said they were gonna replace it for me for free. FREE! In this economy?! I about cried in front of these guys. I did manage to keep it together. I asked if they were sure? (I know why would I even say that) But again they said they would. They said they didn't stay in business for 75 plus years by making the customer suffer. I took my 1951 Nash Street Rod to Ted Wiens on Frreemont St. (corner of Sahara and Boulder Hwy) It needed a tire and the Trac bar was bent. Since the car was custom built with a GM 10 bolt rear differential you can not buy a new Trac Bar. One of the mechanics said he could make one at home and bring it to Ted Weins and install it. The store manager said OK and I was happy they could get it fixed. Three days later the mechanic tells me it is done and ready to be picked up. I go to pick up my car and when I wanted to pay the bill they tell me the price and I thought it was a bit high. I asked them why and he said when installing customer parts the labor rate is doubled to $262.50. I tried to tell them It is not a part you can buy and your mechanic built it for the car at home. The said we charge double labor on customer parts. I will not be using Ted Ripoff Wiens any more and will tell everyone I know about this ripoff joint. read more

I've only used Ted Wiens once but was blown away by their service. I used to go to a different auto shop and just never felt comfortable. But I wanted to try a different auto shop for my vehicle's needs. I took my Camry into Ted Wiens for an alignment due to change of tires and the steering wheel was off-centered. I contacted Ted Wein to schedule an appointment and spoke with Mike. He was very friendly, informative and was able to assist with scheduling my appointment. I was incredibly blown away by the service. I brought in my vehicle and was informed that they would call me in about an hour or two when my service was done. I informed Mike that I didn't need the car until 2 PM so they could take their time. I usually don't expect notifications regarding my vehicle because the other auto shop don't usually do that. But when I started to receive text messages regarding the status of my car's service, I was so impressed. They notified me from start of service and at the end of service, and sent me pictures and documents of what was done. I was absolutely thrilled about this. Don't waste you time at this location. I would give zero stars if it would've been an option. Took my truck to this Ted Wiens for an alignment on a Friday. After the work was done I picked it around closing. It was pulling still to the right, so I dropped my truck off for additional adjustments Wednesday morning. The manager was obnoxiously reprimanding an employee in front of the customers while I was there Wednesday morning. Then they called me and said I need $2685.50 of work done to fix my alignment? I told them no and that I would come pick up my truck. I took it to 4 Wheel Parts on Decatur where they fixed the alignment perfectly and mentioned nothing about needing additional work to correct it. I've taken my RV to Ted Wiens for years and I've always received top notch service. I don't have an RV anymore, but now I have a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach e GT and I wanted to put new wheels on it. I called, talked with Joseph, and told him my plans about new wheels. He assured me that I could just mail them there and they will be happy to install them. I took my car in 8 am sharp and they were expecting me because of my appointment. An hour later, I get a call from Joseph, saying unfortunately the bolt pattern did not match. They were just as disappointed as I was that my wheels didn't work. Even though they did all that work, I wasn't charged for the time and labor it took to find that out. It wasn't my fault or their fault, but it was nice to not be charged for it. Once my new wheels come in, I will go to Ted Wiens again and for all of my tire needs. Our 2006 Saab 97X was really pulling hard when braking and we called Ted Wiens shop and immediately received a next-day appointment early am. Our vehicle has 190,000 miles on it and we've taken good care of it but it needed new disc brakes and rotors, had a water pump leak, needed new ball joints and bushings, and all of this plus alignment, tire balancing and rotations...all diagnosed by their fabulous technicians AND all repaired same day! We heard from other folks at our RV resort that Ted Wiens provides outstanding service and they were spot on! We received the best service ever and highly recommended Ted Wiens for everything from tires to full service. I have a full size SUV with 26" rims and cheap 295/30-26 "made in China" tires. I went to other places and they damaged the rims and even forgot to balance one of the the tires. I decided to try Road Force balancing and would recommend anyone with low profile tires to go this route. Kyle did the balancing and the vehicle finally drives smooth. Ilya did the alignment and got it perfect. The technicians were very nice and explained the work that was done and they did a great job. Mitch was the service advisor who communicated well and was the one who sold me on getting the road force balancing which was absolutely necessary with 26" rims. I'd need the car for a doctor appointment the next day. They took the car in at 2:45 PM, found a crack in the tire and replaced the tire. Done in two hours that seemed a long time, but there were cars ahead of me. The price of repair and one tire seem reasonable. The place has a waiting room with social distances. Staff are friendly. This is an extremely honest review. This auto mechanic is probably the best business I've ever walked into. I called them on the phone from the parking lot. They came out to my truck, took pictures and recorded and documented everything and they were happy to hear me. Explain all the work that I've had done on my truck recently. After speaking to them the original diagnosis was only $49 and I got a first time deal so it only cost me $39. All other mechanics in this area are over $100 just for the diagnosis and then they signed me up with text messaging and they text messaged me with every step of the process. They said you're registered in your car is in line to be serviced then I got a text message a few minutes later saying this is your service technician. they are working on your car then I got another text message with photos that said this is what's going on with your vehicle I've never been in a business in the United States, that had this good of business management and business protocol. This is definitely a business that should be expanding. They ordered my part. It won't get here till Monday today's Saturday and they were OK with me leaving my truck in their parking lot while it's being worked on and the guys were making coffee there's complementary coffee in their shop. They have a huge show room. I'm really impressed the owners of this company have done a good job and I highly recommend this business And I hope to see more companies with strong business models like Ted Wiens I can only say so many good things. I have many complaints but will focus on the most egregious. I took my truck in for a differential drain/fill. They said the work was complete and charged me $211. I trusted that they had done the work. Two days later an independent mechanic (whom we trust) discovered that the differential had not been recently serviced. Furthermore the fluid level in the differential was low so apparently they did not even bother to check it. I will never go there again. read more

Bought lifetime alignment few years ago last year I brought my car to check the alignment after few hours they call me and telling me I I need new rack and pinion, tie rod end and new axle for short it will cost me around $3500 for parts and labor I told the guys car don't even value that price so it's not worth it to do the repair so I just said just finished the alignment for almost a year I still driving the car around Vegas and few time to California and there's no problem on it till a friend introduced me to his mechanic and found out labor will cost me around $500 if I will do everything ted wiens recommend so I start buying all the parts which only cost me around $550 plus the labor of $500 so I scheduled my car to my friends mechanic and we found out nothing wrong with the racking pinion for short we didn't replace it we just replaced new tie rod end and both axle and guess the labor is only $150 plus the tie rod end which is $100 and the two axle for $120 each including tax total parts and labor less than $550 compare to $3500 they quote me so after I did the repair I brought it back to Ted wiens to check the alignment which I pay lifetime alignment the guy said that's void your life time alignment due to I didn't make them do the repair I told the guy are you crazy who will pay $3500 repair for old car don't even value the repair so he wants me to pay $99 to have lifetime alignment again I said it's ok don't need your service anymore and won't come back here anymore I have few cars have lifetime alignment in FIRESTONE which is right by my house read more

THIS SHOP BROKE MY DRIVE SHAFT CHANGING THE WRONG PART AND THEN BLAMED ME AND CHARGED ME FOR IT. keep reading to see how unprofessionally they handled this. My husband and I have been bring our cars here for years and thought we could trust this shop. We brought my car in to get the O2 sensor changed. I brought them the O2 sensor and explained to them which one needed to be changed since my car has 4. My first sign to turn around and run should have been that the man I was explaining the sensor to was VERY confused. Sir you work at a mechanics you should know things about cars. I could sense how confused he was so I stated multiple times that the check engine light was on and that he could just plug the reader in and it would tell him which sensor it was or they could call me to clarify. I left feeling a little uneasy. I got a call later in the day saying that they needed to remove the drive shaft to reach the sensor i okayed it and they continued working on my car. I then get a call about an hour later saying that my drive shaft "disintegrated" in their hands when they took it off. They also said that I had brought them the wrong O2 sensor. We decided to go in to the shop to see what they were talking about. We get there and they show us the drive shaft and gave us some bull shit story about how it just broke when they took it off even though we were not having any problems with it what so ever. I'm no mechanic but I know a part like that doesn't just break. They either dropped it or used brut force to get it off and they are covering for their shotty methods of removing it. While we were there we also noticed they were trying to change the wrong O2 sensor (which is why they thought I brought the wrong one) and if they had changed the correct one the drive shaft wouldn't have needed to come out. So they broke my car changing the WRONG PART. The mechanic realized he had messed up and started trying to blame me for telling them the wrong part!!! Even when I told them they could call me to clarify or plug the car in to see which sensor it was. So we basically went back and forth of him trying to pass the blame to me. We finally came to an "agreement" that they would pay for half the part and charge me no labor (which still sucks. You broke my car and I have to pay half, you should eat the cost). So basically I came in the have a small sensor fixed and I should have cost 200 dollars and I ended up being out a car for 3 days and having to pay 600 dollars. This shop is so crooked and they will lie to protect their workers that break your car. Do not bring your car here unless you want your car broken!!! read more

Please avoid their location as they are trying to overcharge their vehicle service cost I tried to recommend my friend to do an $21 oil change labor cost bringing his own oil and filter as I've tried to do before and the staff tried to charge him $70 just for oil change and refused to give him the same offer as mine does . He does not tell me that the oil change labor cost depends on the vehicle type and I've already told him the model of his car and it costs the same amount. I asked another store and they can do the oil change labor for $20. I used to have experience with doing with them for fair prices for oil change labor cost, and they tend to charge him $70 just do the same thing with same labor time. It made me doubt to doing business for them again Another thing is that when I'm done with the oil change my car does get Smokey smells from the rear wheels brake pads I'm also suspended if they change my part during oil change process and tried to rip me off by replacing brakes for $700 as their dishonest manner of business. read more
