Another late day in the office and was looking for something close to the hotel. Teddy popped up so I thought I'd check it out. It's a pretty big place. Lots of tables and a back room. I sat at the bar and was meticulously waited on by the host of bartenders. I order a cocktail called "The Trustbuster" and really enjoyed it. Very similar to an old fashioned. They make a batch of the cocktail and age it for another month. Highly recommended. I started out with the wedge salad. I loved the bacon jam! An excellent version, but being a blue cheese lover, would have liked more cheese. Still a great salad. For dinner I had the crab cake with a side of creamed spinach. The crab cake was ok. Came with family for Thanksgiving dinner. That day they were offering a prix fixe menu ($72) including choice of appetizer and dessert, and endless carving station (turkey, prime rib, and salmon) and sides. Seating was comfortable (a round table for six in a corner), service was great, and the food was ample and of good quality. The lobster bisque, one of the appetizer choices, was delicious. We had a later reservation (7:15pm) yet they were very accommodating about bringing out a fresh roast when I asked for a piece of prime rib on the rarer side, and a fresh turkey when my son asked for white meat and they had none left at the carving station. The sides were phenomenal, especially the mac & cheese, roasted cauliflower, creamed spinach, and traditional sage dressing. The cornbread served to the table was also good - sweet and moist, and served with honey butter and a jam. My drink, The TR Manhattan, was very tasty. My husband said he enjoyed the Penn Quarter Porter. Each of our group of six had a different beverage ranging from cocktails to beer to wine. All seemed to be good choices. When we asked if there was coffee available with our dessert, about 20 minutes after our server had told us last call on drinks, he said he'd check, and came out with six cups of delicious Americano coffee. Our dessert choices ranged from chocolate cake to a pumpkin crisp (a la mode) to an apple crostata (also a la mode) and all were very good. This is a once and done for me. Wife and I came for brunch on a Sunday and both did the brunch buffet. The menu is a great concept, but the food is not worth it. Omelet bar - Good idea having you submit your order in writing. In my case, they still forgot the cheese. Waffle bar - Decent waffle. Fruit was still somewhat frozen. From the brunch specialties menu: Teddy Mac & Cheese - Didn't taste like anything at all. No, I don't have COVID. Burger Sliders - Sliders were burnt to a crisp and tough as leather. My wife and I each put in orders separately. We also checked with the couple at the table next to us, so I'm basing this on three different orders. If there were onions on them as the menu said, I sure couldn't find them. Strawberry Shortcake - Lemon pound cake was kind of stale. Again, the strawberries were still semi-frozen. The first time we ordered it they brought us the Strawberries and Cream (which is listed twice on the menu for some reason). The staff and space need some work. Most of the food runners didn't know the layout of the tables, so we saw our food taken to a few other tables before it found its way to us, and vice versa. We were constantly being interrupted. This is a lovely place that's rights there wrongs. So our waiter was lovely that was dedicated to making everything better. Yet our food all came out at vastly different times which makes for awkward brunch vibes. I am talking 10 min difference but manager came by to fix it and offered us all free waffles. So they knew they messed up. Four dishes we ordered were just not good for lack of better word. Shrimp and grits was ridiculously fishy tasting, as if the shrimp was old. Came here for bottomless brunch on a Sunday. All of the staff were really nice and friendly - especially our waiter. He was very patient with us, applied a discount that I got obscurely, and even noticed it was my friend's birthday somehow and gave her a complimentary cheesecake which was very nice. Although, some of the staff kept taking away my utensils and plates so I was left holding onto my utensils or not having a knife half of the time. We ordered everything from the food options for brunch. All the portions are like a tapas/small plate so you don't need to worry about size - you can order multiple of the same thing. There's a station for omelettes and waffles that you can customise on your own. The omelette was tasty and the waffle was standard so I would suggest skipping the waffles. I think my favourites were the roast grape toast (sounds weird, but the toast is delicious with the saltiness and spread - the grape isn't too sweet so it meshes well with the toast and veggies) and the fish tacos. The mac and cheese was pretty tasty as well. The burger was okay, a little disappointed because it was a little overcooked. The apple desserts here are a little too sweet for me. Yogurt is sweet but surprisingly good and refreshing! I don't really remember the other items so I'm assuming those were average. We got the sangria pitcher - even though it said it serves quite a few people, each person only got one glass (we were a group of five). The sangria is white wine, so it wasn't too sweet. It was okay in my opinion, I think people definitely assume this is fruity/red wine sangria. Overall, it was a good bottomless brunch option! The food comes out quick and staff are attentive. Definitely get your money's worth of food. Not the best food, but I think it's worth trying for a good brunch experience. I felt like the service was a bit slow for it to be so slow. The food was just ok. I'm not rushing to go back but would maybe try the lunch or dinner menu. For appetizer, we had the mac & cheese, brussel sprout and oysters. My friend really liked the mac & cheese and the oysters and brussel sprouts were good. For my entree, I had the chicken and waffles. The waffles was really good and the chicken batter was good but they served chicken thighs which I'm not a huge fan of. We both had the power lunch which is a 3-course meal for $30 and honestly that it absolutely the best deal for what you get. I had the Brussels sprouts for my started and while they were crispy I wasn't wowed because they were in some weird red sauce I wasn't a fan of. My main was actually really good for your usual steak and frites. For the dessert I had a flourless chocolate cake and it was so freaking good. Lastly our server was super attentive and nice. I've been to many bottomless brunches in the area and this is now in my top 3. We came on a Sunday around noon and it was surprisingly empty. The ambiance and decor was so pretty. It was just bright and refreshing! For $49 ($10 more for bottomless mimosas and bloody marys) you get everything on their specialty menu, waffle/omelette/ice cream station. You can get items a la carte as well but what's a good brunch where the food doesn't stop coming (2 hr limit of course). Usually when you do bottomless food, there's always at least 1-2 dishes that you're not a fan of but surprisingly I enjoyed everything that came out. My husband and I pretty much had everything on the specialty menu but like 1-2 things. My top 3 choices would be the sweet potato pancakes, short rib benedict and mac and cheese. My husband and I definitely got way too many of those benedicts but they were sooo good. One thing I didn't like was bacon and home fries are extra. Those HAVE to be on the bottomless menu, it's only right to at least have the bacon! Another would be the burgers were hella dry. Even with sauce, it was just overcooked and hard to chew. I still ate it but had to add more sauce. Service was also attentive and very friendly with the mimosas refill. As soon as I took a sip, he was there to top it off. Normally, I wouldn't fault a restaurant with an AYCE approach to brunch too much, but since everything is made to order, there should be consistent quality and that hasn't been the case. Came here with a large group for their Sunday brunch. They were kind in accommodating 9 of us, since their largest reservations online are 8. We were sat almost immediately, and the restaurant was essentially empty right at 10:30 am (I think this is when they open, so that's probably why). The inside is much larger than you'd think. The decorations/ interior design of the building is very fun and very DC. I would say this is a place you need to come for to get the unlimited brunch, at $55 a person with drinks, menu items, omelette bar, and waffle bar included. Mimosa options include cranberry or OJ. My friends who got this deal really loved it, especially the variety of foods they got to taste. The menu items are slightly smaller than the plates of those of us who went "a la carte." It took a while for my friends to get their drinks, but once they got their first round the refills were quick, allowing them to make the most of our 2-hour time limit. I did not get the unlimited brunch, since I was a little under the weather and knew I wasn't going to drink any alcohol. I got the sliders which were good, not great. Pleasantly sweet, the cocktail had a nice blend of mezcal, rye whisky, benedictine and bitters topped with an orange slice garnish. Balanced. Bold. Rich. Sippable. Well done. The Commissioner's Cider was also a hit. A mix of moonshine, lemon sour, bitters and hard cider. Refreshing. Tangy. Sweet. Fruity. To start off the meal, I had the crispy chicken bites for appetizers..these were delicious. For main entree, I ordered the Teddy burger. The burger was very dry, and not juicy. It lacked in flavors as well. I had ordered the sweet potatoes as my side. I thought these were going to be sweet potatoes fries which would have paired well with my burger. The sweet potatoes were grilled and thus a miss for me. The service was great. The staff were polite, attentive and friendly. Overall, great drinks and service. Food not so much. This is a solid spot if you want some food that'll stick to your ribs. I had the pleasure of trying the poutine, chicken wings, burger, and fried chicken. Every dish that came out were larger than life! Honestly, each dish could feed two people. As much as I loved everything, I needed a little something more. We ended up playing a game of "why does our server hate us" because we either got gruff communication, or none at all (just semi passive aggressive moments, and then full out VERY obvious passive aggressive moments), but truly it made the experience more fun. I came a few months ago for happy hour on the patio, and most recently for a brunch with a group of nine on a Saturday morning. I really enjoyed the strawberry mint julep drink, the macaroni and cheese, and the cornbread. At brunch, I had the fried fish and grits, which wasn't the best and it was a little too salty but most people said their food was good. I was very pleased with how well the restaurant accommodated the larger group of nine for my event. Service wasn't the fastest but it was solid, especially given that most restaurants are understaffed these days. I can definitely recommend the restaurant for happy hour or a group brunch. read more

This was the first time I visited a restaurant for Thanksgiving and I have no regrets. For $60 you get to choose from a list of appetizers, dessert and have full unlimited access to the carving station (roast beef, turkey, salmon) and a whole lot of traditional side dishes. Just because you put a giant ice cube in a drink doesn't make it worth $17. Next, I ordered some oysters. 6 for $21. They were served on a platter too big for the oysters and 2 of the oysters just tasted bad. Not bad like food poisoning but just not tasty. The toppings were akin to cheap $1 oyster happy hour places I've been to. After realizing how over priced and aggressively mediocre this place is, no way I would pay $65 for a steak here. The food is okay - I thought the portion sizes for my appetizers/sides were larger than the entrees my group ordered. I ordered (what I thought was a side of) Brussels sprouts and they brought out a sharing size dish worth of Brussels sprouts.
