    Potato gnocchi

Very cozy atmosphere inside! The staff were very attentive. I came with a group and others in my party ordered burgers and the chickpea panisse. The burgers looked really good, but they were not very flavorful. The chickpea panisse was enjoyed! I got the potato gnocchi which came in tuna bolognese. It was not fishy at all, and the there were tiny pieces of crispy tuna in the sauce. I can't believe how light the gnocchi were. They were the lightest gnocchi I have ever eaten. Definitely recommend!!

After hearing about James Beard Foundation Award-winning Ellen Yin in Philly, I was excited to try a kitchen in DC. I came with some girlfriends for Saturday dinner and had a lovely time. I was a bit taken aback by the complete lack of people on a Saturday night and the apres ski experience being outside and not covered, but we cozied up against the fireplace and the service was fantastic. They checked on us often and even brought more fur blankets so we each had our own. The food was incredible and tasted very fresh and farm to table. Our favorites were the radicchio salad and grilled eggplant, which reminded me how much I love when vegetables are done well. We also had the oysters, raclette, bone marrow, steak frites, and cocktails, which were good. Based on the location, this would be a good spot to stop by before or after the Kennedy Center

Loved the dim lighting, tea candles, and quiet vibes. Delicious food and friendly staff. I have never had a tuna bolognese before so was very excited to have tried that! Great mocktail selections as well

Went here for a business lunch. The place itself was really cute. The food was good and I was glad I was able to try it but I don't think it was enough to crave going back. I had the waygu steak which was delicious however the salad had no dressing and the fries were a little oily though very crunchy and the panna cotta was great as well.

Dining at A Kitchen & Bar for a Friday lunch, it was easy to get a table. Inside the AKA Hotel just off of Washington Circle, it's on the bottom level. The design is inviting and the staff are friendly and efficient. For lunch, I ordered a latte, their burger, chickpea panisse, and chocolate gelato with sesame crunch. Everything tasted great, but the burger was the winner. It comes with two patties and order bacon on it. The chickpea panisse is well done with the charred carrots, kuri squash tahina, and hot pepper. If you need a quiet spot for a lunch meeting with good food, go here.

Fort the most part, A. Kitchen + Bar is a hit -- for me anyway. The decor is simple and modern. We tried the ribs, clams, salad and had awesome drinks. The clams were my favorite -- seasoned so well! Service was also a good experience. Typically, when restaurants are new, customer service can be a bit shaky as they get acclimated. All went well, and I hope you enjoy it too! Cheers

The place was planned to be fancy. The interior is stylish and minimalistic. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is overpriced and tastes fine. Portions are on a smaller side. Would not be worth this much money thought. Drinks overpriced as well. If you are not caring about your budget, then sure, give it a try.

I came in for Brunch but left with a feeling of so much joy. I was greeted by music of warmth. The music truly was inviting and allowed you to feel in the mood for breakfast. The person truly put together a well crafted playlist. The decor is also very aesthetically pleasing. I feel as if I am in an oasis of greenery and calmness. The details are well put together. The food is beautifully plated a great as well.i was so hungry and enjoyed looking at the plate. Service was impeccable and a great experience. Definitely come and try. You will not regret it.

One of the best brunches I've experienced in a while. A kitchen and bar was a refreshing low key change of scenery from the hectic brunch scene in DC. Great service, delicious food and the most important part: spectacular drinks. I had the Easy A which is the US's version of the European pornstar martini. I had the eggs, potatoes and sausage. I know eggs are a pretty simple dish yet - these eggs were perfect and seasoned. Most places get them wrong, either too bland or scrambled too hard- again these were perfect. I'll definitely be back.

Cute spot for a cocktail. The bar is the best to sit at. I recommend the deviled eggs!

New spot in DC that I came too during resturant week. The ambiance is very nice with inside and outside seating and a tropical feel. ALL the drinks were on point. I love that they take their time between each course. The starters were amazing. The burger, BLT, and the biscuits and gravy were well seasoned. The dessert was out of this world. Most importantly to any establishment is the staff. Five star staff that were very knowledgeable from the drinks to the eats as well as customer friendly. A must try if you are ever in the DC area. Bib gourmand here they come!:)

A hidden gem in West End -- love this place. Great food and a very good wine list. The "chickpea panisse" appetizer is one of the most creative and tasty courses I have had in DC. The Badger Flame Beets were excellent too. Bravo!

Also had the octopus pepper gilda thing. Our server, think his name was Hunter, said that was the most popular main. It was very delicious, rich but not overly so. The martini was nice and came with a side car. Great presentation. When my friend saw the martini she said this makes me feel like i know how to live. They have a good wine list, you can get good stuff without breaking the bank. Their espresso is nice. I don't think they have decaf though.

The ossobucco with the risotto rice was extremely undercooked, where we could see the white middles of each grain of rice. The ossobucco itself was delicious though! I reached out on their website to share that we were a bit disappointed as we were there with friends who claim this is one of their favorite Italian restaurants in the DMV, and having multiple bones in a dish is not acceptable. Not coming back and saying something is also unacceptable. No one reaching back out after I emailed them, is equally very unacceptable.

Warm wood, soft lighting, an atmosphere that feels intimate without being cramped, the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and stay a while. The team went above and beyond when they learned I don't drink: they gifted us a non-alcoholic wine, a complimentary appetizer, and dessert. That kind of hospitality isn't scripted... it's felt. Now, the food. The housemade sourdough with eucalyptus honey butter is dangerous, I could have stopped there and been happy. The roasted carrot salad with hazelnut dukkah and garlic toum was one of those dishes that makes you rethink a vegetable entirely. The garlic knots had no business being that good... crispy, layered, almost croissant-like, deeply garlicky in the best way. For pasta we had the pappardelle with spicy roasted pork ragù and fennel breadcrumbs, and the canastra cheese ravioli with wild garlic pesto and brazil nut pangrattato, that stunning deep green dish topped with chive blossoms looked like art and tasted even better. Both pastas were perfect. Then the Brazilian budino with coconut caramel and toasted coconut came out with a little candle tucked in. I nearly cried. This is a restaurant that treats every table like it matters. We will absolutely be back.

First, a friend made a reservation at least a week in advance for a table of three. We all got there on time, if not a few minutes early. The hostess then told us there was not a table ready for us, and worse, was unable to give us a time estimate on when a table would open up because "we do not time our tables." So what is the point of making a reservation? Hilariously he said we can wait for a table outside instead, but they Won't be turning on the heaters. Happy to know they want us cold and hungry. We ended up waiting by the bar area, which was uncomfortably packed, for a drink while a table opened up. The bartender there was nice and respectful! Eventually, after waiting for some time we got a table inside. It was quite loud in the main room. There were three separate birthday parties. We were glad to start ordering. We ordered the oyster mushrooms, patatas bravas, chicken thighs, seafood paella, and the pork belly. The pork belly had to be comped because they forgot about it until I reminded them over an hour into the dinner. To note, all of the food was lukewarm/cold with the exception of the pork belly because they forgot about it and it was prepared late. Even the paella, which is served on a cast iron, so it has the optics of being piping hot, was actually just warm. The rice felt a little hard. The mushrooms had too much breading in each bite. I enjoyed the green sauce in the chicken. A runner asked if we wanted complimentary bread with our green sauce, which we responded positively towards. But soon after another runner picked up the plate with the sauce and swooped it away. Then the first runner came back with the bread right after, noticeably confused by the lack of sauce. It felt comedic. I enjoyed the wine and the pork belly most. Truly unforgettable service.
