Finally had a chance to check this place out! I was previously on a big coffee/matcha kick but this place was always packed. Parking is free out front but tight as it shares a compound with a Pilates place and Jenny's shrimp. Entering the shop the worker was friendly and kind. I loved the aesthetic of the place. It looks small from the outside but lots of seating is available indoors. I got an Earl grey matcha and a maple Hojicha for my hubby. Both drinks were nice. I didn't want too much caffeine the first time I went so I tried their chai with their banana cream and OMG it's my favorite drink right now. Such a good combo, their chai is soooo good. My bf got a coffee and he liked his as well, we personally didn't love their house made milk. The second time we went we just got oat and we liked it better! Such a cute aesthetically pleasing coffee shop!! Love how it's located in the beginning of Haleiwa. We ordered the strawberry matcha and nut coffee drink (sorry I forgot the name) and it was truly truly made for a true lover of coffee and matcha. The traffic during the time I was there was busy, people coming and going, some regulars, some tourists. The Bird's Nest really outdid themselves and thought about every little detail in their shop. Came here for breakfast on Labor Day. The parking situation here is not the greatest but we were lucky enough to get a stall that was easy to leave from. It's a super cute shop with limited seating but we were able to get a table outside. I got a chai latte, Foccacia bites, and veggie burrito. I'm not a latte connoisseur, so I'm not sure how to judge a chai latte. It had flavor and wasn't super milky, so I enjoyed it. The Foccacia bites were my favorite. I loved how sour they were, and it had a good amount of chew to it. The breakfast burrito was nothing special and the tortilla to filling ratio was quite high. Oh no, i try different cafes 3-4x a week as a lil hobby, and this one was highly reviewed but i was so disappointed. I got the lavender matcha and the hojicha special but both of them had a gritty/powdery feeling and aftertaste that I've only experience once before with a trader joe matcha latte mix (and that's because i prepared it wrong). The taste was so mild and i didn't taste any lavender in the matcha. I got two because i was so excited to try these cool flavors, and this is the first time i threw away a drink after a few sips. The Bird's Nest Coffee is a worthwhile spot but you need to pay attention because you could blink and miss it. I accidentally wound up in thw wrong parking lot because one side of yhe lot belongs to a shrimp truck,the other side to the cafe. I tried the "Hello and good morning", which is oddly even more entertaining when the barista calls out your order ... anyway, this drinks has notes of dark chocolate and cayenne pepper. Its SO good. Went on a Sunday midday at around noon. It wasn't too busy and a short line. I decided to get a latte before the beach. I got the coconut latte and a chocolate cookie with some nuts in it. We also got the blueberry donut holes. Reasonable prices for a latte, and I got the latte half sweet which was perfect sweetness for me. I also got it with oat milk. The cookie was good but I wish there was more chocolate chips in it. I also wanted to get a Marsala tea canister they were selling and I asked a girl in the front how much it would cost, as there was no price listed anywhere or the bottom, and she said "I don't know, sorry" so I ended up not getting it because I didn't know the price. Wish they were more helpful looking up the price. Overall, I think the coffee was delicious and I love the inside and the decor they had. Best of all, you don't see laptops and tablets rather people actually talking to each other. Of course the coffee is good. One of the smoothest cold brews with very low acidity but still having bright dried citrus notes on the finish. The espresso also well sourced. Once again, low acidity with no harsh bitter or burnt notes. Lots of character with a hint of berries on the finish. Very well sourced / roasted. For those who must, they do offer fancy lattes and some matcha drinks. Compostable non paper straws a HUGE plus. Even their choice of cups do not taint the flavor of the drinks. A small selection of pastries available. A blueberry sage cake with citrusy butter cream made in house, outstanding. Walking in we were greeted by friendly staff and a beautiful array of pastries. Cute shop. Small but welcoming and evidently popular. The parking lot is tight and gave me anxiety watching people trying to maneuver their vehicles in and out. Great honey cortado, and we also got a cardamom bun and an earl grey lavender lemon scone. I was only slightly disappointed that they warmed my scone (I specified not to be heated), but the flavors were incredible I didn't mind in the end. Another cute coffee shop that I had a hard time trying since their day off is also my husbands day off. Which is when we were going on coffee dates. But we found ourself there on the weekend, was able to snag a stall in to tiny lot not made for van life, and got some drinks with the kids. While on our North Shore Beach day, we decided to check out a few of the trending cafes out here! Easily the highlight of our trip, the matcha at The Bird's Nest is worthy of the hype. Not sweetened and a quality matcha, combined with their homemade milk, it was incredible. Their milk is a mix of a few different nut milks as well as coconut milk and it was the absolute perfect combo. They had several sourdough pastries including a hotdog bun which was delicious. It was dense, with flakey sea salt on top, yum!! There is plenty of seating inside however, parking can be a bit of a challenge so I recommend parking at the lot just past the cafe. read more

I love this little coffee spot from the drinks, service, and ambiance -- it really is the cutest coffee shop on the North Shore. I wish that I stayed to enjoy my coffee here but instead had it to-go but was able to enjoy the space a bit while waiting for my order. Grabbing coffee for both me and my boyfriend- I wanted to get one iced drink and one hot drink. With that in mind, I asked the barista and they recommend the iced coconut latte and a hot nuts n' hugs latte (hug included but i didn't ask for one). Specialty lattes will run you $6.5-$7 which isn't too bad for a well-made latte in my books. They also have some fresh baked goods and I went with these little focaccia bread bites! Husband and I recently tried The Bird's Nest Coffee during our visit in Hawaii. It is located in the North Shores at the same parking lot as Jenny's Shrimp Truck. Keep in mind that there's very limited parking. The aesthetic of building is so cute. It looks like one of those automotive garage from the outside! The indoor space isn't the biggest, but there are quite a few tables and seats. The staff were so friendly and gave me recommendations as it was my first visit. We ended up getting an iced Ko'olau Coconut Latte with Banana Foam. It was soooo good! Definitely worth a try if you're in the area! read more
