I've been meaning to try Persian food and was happy to find a place close by that offers it! Sadly they moved from their original location on Beaverton Hillsdale Highway to a different location. The new location looked like they were still on the middle of renovating but we were still able to dine in. Parking was easy as well. I came in on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm and was shocked to find they were sold out of tahdig, which was the one thing I was looking forward to. I found it odd that they didn't prepare extra for a weekend dinner but that's okay. Our party loved the lamb shanks and kebabs! The lamb shank was so tender and not gamey at all. And the kebabs was one the best kebabs I've had! There weren't too many customers when we came so hopefully it'll ramp up more once they are more settled into their new place. read more

This might be the only Persian (not to be confused with Mediterranean) restaurant in Portland metro. It looked like it was just the owner working the entire operation. The Tah-Dig topped with Ghorme stew was delicious. Persian tea was spot on. Definetely coming back. read more

My favorite persian restaurant in Beaverton! I love their stews, especially their ghorme sabzi. I've been looking for a place that sells tahdig and this is the place to go! The service is very friendly, not super attentive but they check in every so often. When you sit down you are provided with bread, cheese, mint, and raw onion. So good! I love coming here for take out and dining in. I prefer dining in, It's pretty quiet if you dine in. The food comes out so quick and is so delicious & rich with flavor. Food is easily a 10/10 when it comes to middle eastern and honestly, any food in general. I don't think I've tasted a single thing I haven't liked from here. Service can be a little slow at times but worth the wait with the care they put into their dishes. They have music playing in the restaurant to really immerse you in the dining experience. My brother-in-law was telling me that the one thing he missed about being in LA was the Persian food. So I immediately searched out a spot that I could get some authentic Persian food to bring to them. It was almost an hour drive to get to Tehroon, but I really liked what I saw on the menu - a mix of kebab dishes and stews and the eggplant dip - Kashke Bademjaan. I was hoping to get the Gormeh Sabzi but they didn't have it - so I went with the Gheymeh that they had which was really delicious. I ordered the Tahdig (crispy rice with Gheymeh) but I feel like that didn't travel well and ended up being crunchy in a hard to eat way. I think this is a dish that probably is best to eat at the restaurant. We had the Koobideh and the Chicken Soltani which also comes with a koobideh. I do feel like their Koobideh might have been a combination of beef and lamb - but I like that combination. The rice was delicious and we enjoyed the leftovers the next day as well. read more

This place is tucked away so wasn't easy to discover but we are so glad we have found it. The restaurant is hidden inside the shopping center, just follow the signs. It is a quiet restaurant but very clean. We ordered the roasted eggplant appetizer. It was creamy, tangy, and minty. The koobideh kabob was sooo good. It was well seasoned, juicy, and perfectly grilled. Next time I would ask for the half rice half salad. We love TEHROON and have been getting it for special occasions for close to 20 years now. We come all the way from the South end of Tualatin, because it is worth it. Their meat is always perfectly cooked and seasoned, and their Saffron rice is a treat by itself. They have always been welcoming and nice and they remembered me today by my order and name. They're a little off the beaten path in the Clocktower Square part of the plaza, but again, totally worth seeking them out. It's nice, with a warm atmosphere inside. read more

Get the Koobideh and Chicken Kabobs here! Super juicy, well-charred, and flavorful. The side salad was also great. I particularly liked the Bademjaan as well. Went super great with lavash which they keep refilling for us. Torshi was also refreshing and went well with the whole spread. The Tahdig and Ghorme Sabzi were underwhelming for me. After not receiving my order correctly, I came onto this site and I wrote a scathing review! While I stand behind my original review because it was true, I've updated my rating to 5 stars because the business reached out to me, they apologized, and they offered to remake the missing food. I guess what I'm trying to say... bottom line, we are all human and we should be allowed to make mistakes. When you stand up and take responsibility and try to fix an honest mistake, that should not be held against you. The food that we did receive was actually pretty tasty and if we are ever in Portland, Oregon again.. we will 100% done in person and give them another shot. It was my first time here . I came as a tourist to Portland and I was craving Iranian food . Google brought this to my search. I decided to go by bus and it took me almost 1 hour . I'm glad I came . The employees were nice , welcoming and friendly. I ordered " koobideh Kabab " and " tahdig with gheimeh " . Both were great . Very delicious. I loved it . The gentleman who took my order who is the owner was talking over the phone in the back " maybe in the kitchen " for a long time very loud . I could hear all the conversation. Also some one was slapping on something in the back for a long time and the noise was disturbing and annoying. You are in the restaurant to eat your food in peace but unfortunately the noise was loud . I didn't want to be a negative person and give 4 star just because of this issue . I live in San Francisco but if I was living here , I would come back again to try something else . The food is really good . This spot is a hidden gem . You need to go and try them .at the end that gentleman asked me if I would like to have a tea . Even though I was so full , I said yes . Because I love Persian tea. I got to admit the food in Tehroon restaurant is outstandingly delicious and it reminded me of when I was back in Iran. I highly recommend this place. This was our first time here. My husband and I wanted a relaxing dinner after a very stressful few days. I love Koobideh and it's my go to dish whenever we dine out at a Mediterranean restaurant, and when I saw it on their menu, and the place was close by, I suggested we give it a try. First, I'd like to say the food was good. I ordered the Soltani $30.99 (combo of 1 skewer of Koobideh and 1 skewer of Barg) and my husband ordered the Shish Soltani $30.99 (combo of 1 shish kabob and 1 skewer of Koobideh). We also ordered the Shirazi Salad $6.99 to share. All tasted good and the salad added a nice "freshness" to the whole dish since it only came with rice and half a roasted tomato. HOWEVER, they had their toddler son at the restaurant. I understand having to take your child to work at times, especially if you are the restaurant owner, but the owners need to control their child. The little boy was running up and down, jumping in the booths, yelling, and disturbing customers. Standing and staring at customers right in front of their tables, non-stop chattering, it was all too much. The parents (owners) did absolutely nothing to stop him. At one point, one of the owners was sitting in a booth, on their phone, while the little boy was jumping in a booth in front of another customer yelling trying to get attention. I can tell the customer was annoyed and the owner did nothing. I can understand why this restaurant is always empty when we walk by it. Perhaps they will get more/repeat customers if they find childcare or control their child if they have to bring him to work. This is their restaurant, show some pride in it. It's unfortunate because the food is actually good. After paying the $69 + tip bill, and regardless of how close they are, we will not be returning. read more

My family and I came in at just a little after 7pm (it was literally 7:10 I think). We were told to get seated at a table and before we could even get settled, another worker (presumably the owner?) comes out and tells us they're closed despite their website and the door listing 8pm as their closing time. If you don't want to work, just say that. We had a whole 50 min before closing time and we would have been quick since we live in Seattle and had to get back home soon after. It's been 15 months. 15 months since we ventured out to eat "inside" at a restaurant. We've been fully vaccinated against COVID (hey, 2028 reader, remember that crap-show we had back in 2020?) and so we hauled our newly-immune selves out for a lovely dinner. Tehroon Restaurant is a small-ish place just inside a strip mall. We got a seat right at the window on our warm sunny evening. I ordered a kabob plate of koobideh and barg (basically strips of beef and ground beef) and Wife N ordered a chicken platter. We've rarely eaten Persian food, even though I really love it. Persian food is not generally what would be considered "spicy" - - in fact as international cuisine goes it tends to be on the mild side, so heat-avoiders should find a wide swath of palatable food. What I love: I have no idea what spices are used. The flavors are entirely different from our more typical European-inspired herbs and spices. As a result, we were treated to expertly-cooked beef and chicken that was chock full of delicious, but (to me) unidentifiable flavors. A culinary voyage! Look, it's basically skewers of beef, chicken, etc. with delicious saffron rice. But the flavors are wonderful and exotic, and it's definitely worth a visit! The service was great; it feels like a small family joint and we got the impression our server was just one of the family kids. Everything was great. We'll be back to play the menu again! read more
