I've been here probably 30+ times at least since it first opened (2019?), so I'm more than qualified to leave this overdue review. First of all, the food is very good. I do prefer their lamb over their chicken and don't love their dolma but otherwise very good. Secondly, this a very much a family restaurant. So... You know when you have gone to a restaurant with foods that have strong flavors, you sometimes want to reach for a mint to get those flavors out of your mouth. As my wife and I were driving away from Levant, she said, "Do you still taste dinner?" I replied, "Yes and it is STILL great!" My wife ordered the lamb shwarma and I ordered the Mediterranean moussaka (not the Greek moussaka...an important distinction. When we ordered there was a communication short circuit and the woman behind the counter (AND behind the phone, AND at the stove, AND restocking supplies) thought I wanted the vegetarian moussaka. When I brought the plate up and said there was no meat, she immediately brought me some super yummy lamb to mix in. (What service!) As alluded to previously, lady holding down the fort was a dynamo! I don't think she stopped moving the entire time we were eating in. On the phone taking orders...cooking...taking orders/payment. And do all this with an air of grace and a smile on her face. As a moroccan and as an arab, i'm tempted to say this food is even better than my own mother's food...i really hope my mom doesn't see this! the decor in the restaurant is really beautiful, artsy, and deeply reflective of the culture. equally, if not more importantly, the woman who owns this restaurant and prepares the food is one of the sweetest and kindest people i've ever met! not only is the food incredibly delicious and fulfilling but the hospitality is truly unmatched - i felt genuinely welcomed, almost at home, while eating here. i wish i could give this restaurant 10 stars but alas! thank you so much! read more

Levant Mediterranean Grill is located in Bethany Village. Today I ordered their Mezza Vegetarian Platter delivered for lunch. Everything was packaged nicely and arrived on time. The hummus and baba ghanouj were the best items. They were both flavorful with a nice consistency. The falafel were dry and very crunchy. I prefer them to be soft in texture. The spanakopita was just pita bread topped with chopped spinach, onions and spices. It was tasty. But spanakopita is usually a phyllo pastry pie. Pita bread comes with the meal and you have a choice of Arabic style (pocket bread) or Greek style (no pocket). The portion sizes of all the ingredients seemed a bit smaller than what I've received at other Mediterranean places. Overall, the food was ok but I wouldn't return. There are several other Mediterranean restaurants in the area that are much better. read more

The sign at Levant says a beautiful mother is cooking good food, and it seems as if this is accurate. A very sweet lady was working and she served us some really good food. We were out and about in Hillsboro and wanted gyros for lunch. A quick search brought us to Levant Grill. This order at the counter, casual place had a nice-sized menu posted, and also has other options on their website menu. We ordered a lamb gyro and a lamb shawarma sandwich. Both were really fantastic. The gyro was jam-packed with meat and had tomatoes, onions and a tasty, creamy garlicky sauce. Lettuce is included too, but I asked for it to be left off. The pita was so soft. It was a substantial, traditional delicious sandwich, which was exactly what I wanted. The lamb on the lamb shawarma seemed to be outdoor grilled. Really flavorful. Then it is rolled tightly in a thinner sajj and then pressed. It included all the same toppings. We didn't order any additional sides because we correctly thought the sandwiches would be sufficient. We also shared a mint lemonade. It was simple in its preparation, lemonade with fresh mint whirred in a drink blender. But it was just sublime! So delicious. On a summer day, it would be otherworldly. On a crisp fall day it was refreshing. This place is not super fancy. Order at the counter and sit at a few tables. It seemed like, maybe, this place has been a bbq restaurant in the past. The decor was varied, but I never care much about that. The service was great and quick. She sincerely asked how everything was as we were leaving. We told her it was really wonderful. This was exactly the kind of gyro I had been hoping for. I did not know there was a Mediterranean place close to my house, so when I found out, I definitely needed to come and check it out! I ordered ahead for pick up and ordered just a falafel wrap. It took about 10 minutes to be made, and just for $7, I had a nice falafel wrap. The chef, who I think is also the owner, was very generous on the falafel, which I really appreciated. It was very crispy, and there were plenty of lettuce and tomato sprinkled on top. I will definitely come here again in the near future, and I highly suggest people to come and stop by! read more

I'm surprised I haven't review Levant yet! Great local Mediterranean, and decent value, especially for Bethany Village. My favorite is the gyro platter. Something like a half pound (maybe a bit more) of lamb and beef gyro meat piled on top of saffron rice, coated with garlic sauce and served with a fresh side salad. Wonderful in principle, good in portion and easy on the eye, but a slightly flawed execution. The dressing on the salad is approximately straight lemon juice, and even for my little German taste buds, it runs a bit sour. This is presumably to cut the fattiness of the rice, which will leave you stomach sick if you try to eat the whole plate due to how greasy it is. Don't get me wrong, it's absolutely delicious, but it's HEAVY, and you'll start sweating pretty quickly working through a dish. Levant isn't perfect, but it's ours, and I'll keep coming back here time and time again. I recommend you do as well. read more

Despite what yelp and grubhub may say, this place is open for take out and delivery! I made a grubhub order only to have it canceled. So I called instead and they told me I could come pick it up in just 30 minutes. I ordered lamb shank platters, lamb kebab platters, and hummus and they were all delicious. The stand-out dish by far was the lamb shank though. It was fall-off-the-bone goodness!! It comes with saffron rice, salad, and some carrots from its braise. It's humongous too!! I was worried it'd be tough, but it was absolutely heavenly. The lamb kebab was also good, but a little hard. I think it was slightly overcooked. The flavor was still yummy though! I didn't manage to take any photos because we ate too quickly (haha), but if you love lamb, do yourself a favor and order the lamb shank platter. You cannot go wrong with such a fantastic dish! Excellent falafel and baklava! The falafel was so tasty, and the baklava was crispy and sweet.

I've been going here since they took the business over from the last Mediterranean restaurant that occupied the same spot. Lately their food has been really miss (the only reason for the 4 stars, otherwise would have been 5). But whoever was cooking today (4/29/2022) absolutely KILLED it with the chicken platter. EVERYTHING has delicious! Glad I went with the extra garlic sauce, it was so good with the rice! I hope they can maintain this quality because i will be coming back way more often, if so. read more

I've walked passed this place so many times and decided to try it out for the first time today. The people working here were super nice. I actually walked in when they were closing and didn't know but they still happily made me food. Now the food... 10/10. I couldn't believe how good the food was. Before Levant, there was a previous Mediterranean restaurant. I tried the lamb gyro at this previous restaurant and it was not very good: the meat was sliced very thin and not very flavorful. I tried the lamb gyro again at Levant and it was delicious. The meat was sliced in nice, thick slabs and was very flavorful. They also added crisp pickle spears to the gyro which gave the gyro a nice acidic bite. If you are in the Bethany area and in the mood for Mediterranean food, Levant is a great place to go. Since it is a quasi-sit down restaurant, the prices are reasonable as well. read more

Great food, very fresh. Had chicken shawarma and mezza plate. Shawarma had well seasoned chicken, with a nice creamy garlic sauce. Mezza plate was good size portion. The baba ghanoush was very good,had a chunkier texture than what I'm use to, but very tasty. Wow, the falafel was the surprise. Crispy light, and flavorful, a must have. Iffy on the sanitation here. You can see the man prepping the food at the front. He wears one glove which is fine if he was only touching the food with that hand but he uses both hands to prep and touch everything so I'm not entirely sure he understands the point of wearing a glove. He speaks very minimal English which is fine if he knows what's on the menu and how to answer super basic questions. The platter comes with salad or soup. I asked what is the soup? He had no clue what I was saying. Back and forth 7 or 8 times you have soup? What's the daily soup? Is there soup today? Can I order the soup? Finally gave up and said salad and he understood that. Food was just ok. As other reviews mention it's very expensive for the portion size. I wouldn't come here again especially due to the lack of sanitation measures. read more

I have been going here for almost two years. The owner is super nice, the ambiance is okay, food is great. Biggest complaint: 1) prices are getting a little too high for the portion size, 2) the owner makes the food best. She includes enough topping on things like the tomatoes and yogurt sauce, etc. The employee is skimpy (so that sucks having to ask), 3) the prices have increase for the same portions. read more

This is a micro restaurant in Bethany Village. I had the lamb shawarma saj, which was tasty, it also had pickles and tomato in it, and was grilled almost panini style, so it was nice and crisp. Lamb was a smidge on the salty side, but i enjoyed it, I think the part that really made it good was the crispy wrap. My dad got the Levant burger. The patty was very thin and had a very homogenous appearance to it, it was kind of weird. I like how they put fries in it though, and the cheese was nice and melted. Their fries are battered and crisp, they were a bit skimpy on the fries, I would have loved to have had another handful! It was a bit of a wait to get our food, 15-20 min. I guess this is the case with most of the micro restaurants, they aren't fast food, and everything is cooked to order. Always good to just call ahead! read more

Someone here siad the staff is very nice but that's about it. Yup. I ordered to go...a Levant salad the cheese and olive tray and the baba ganoush. Where to begin? They don't have beef kabobs any more....strike one. I'm not a fan of lamb. Chicken kabobs are always VERY dry so nope. So I moved on to salad. The salad was described as "baby lettuce, garlic, tomato, tossed in our house dressing and topped with feta cheese and kalamata olives." You will see the pic of what I got--the olives are green olives, not kalamata. There is no baby lettuce, I got romaine. No garlic. This cost me --no kidding--$7.49. For that I could go to sweet tomatoes and get a million toppings, soup, pasta and dessert! But I digress.... Then the baba ganoush HOLY CRUD it was bitter and horrible. Not even edible. Then the cheese plate, described as "Feta Cheese Plate Importer cheese mixed with tomatoes, olives, and topped with olive oil." No olives again. I mean I eat Mediterranean in part for the olives. Save yourself a lot of cash. Go to the store, get some romaine lettuce, a block of feta and cut it into squares--and you're done. Very little "cooking" done here. Very little artistry. And don't don't don't try the baba ganoush. read more

We were not very hungry but wanted to try this place. So we ordered a lamb shawarma and asked to jus half it so that me and my husband could share it. But they actually made two smaller size shawarma rolls for us which was perfect. . Although the meat was flavorful I felt it could've been a bit more tender. The side wedges fries were amazing. RUDE STAFF. After many attempts to order from this place, we are fed up with their inefficient and completely unreliable service. We make our orders online and they do not ever arrive correct. By far this is one of the BEST restaurants on Bethany Blvd! We ordered a lamb shawarma and it was very moist and tender. They put a LOT of meat into their shawarma, as you can see in the picture there are several leyers of meat. The owners were very warm and welcoming. They had us sample a couple of things on their menu and I can't wait to go back! Once you try one of their meals you can tell that is authentic Mediterranean food that is home made. Came to visit Portland from the midwest, I was looking for some good Mediterranean food although not really expecting much. I was impressed by this newly opened, family owened, Mediterranean place in the suburb of Portland. I had the mixed combo grill. It was a mix skewers of chicken and lamb marinated in a special and secret sauce and grilled to perfection, served with delicious, freshly made, Basmati rice. The taste was defintely beyond expectations. The staff were so welcoming and the service was great! If you give this place less than five stars then you probably want to go back to the Middle East to find a more authentic place! Levant is defintely worth the money and drive. Food was OKAY but the price was inflated. Very expensive for what you get, will not order again. It's just not worth it.

Went for lunch at 2pm. Ordered the combo kabob which comes with three meats, chicken, lamb, and beef and a small "greek salad" which was lettuce and two pieces of tomato, cucumber. The beef was way tough and the rest overall dry. Including hot tea (nothing middle eastern here) and baklava (haven't tried it yet) For a whopping $23. I've got no reason to go back. read more

Food is inconsistent. Ordered from here several times and each time it's different. Sometimes it's amazing, other times it just ok with small portions for the price. The only thing that is consistent is that they leave items out every time we have ordered. We paid for lamb mezza platter and added on chicken last time- missing the chicken and spanakopita.
