The Footy referee was more focused on reprimanding her for expressing her vocal outrage that a foul wasn't called. Mind you, she had a fractured cheek bone, bruised ribs, and a concussion. The referee laughed in her face. The other team faced no accountability. The result - she was suspended. Not like she can play any time soon due to her injuries, which may require surgery. Like other reviewers have noted, the refs can be biased, and that bias DOES result in injury. Don't join this league if you value safety.

The friend of my friend had some last minute scheduling problems, and they accommodated us very promptly. Keep in mind that this was still two days in advance. Both of the times that I went the instructors were very helpful and informative. There were lots of moments to chuckle at little jokes they made to lighten the mood and help people relax. They had games at the end of each training. As we shot the trainers assessed our performance only to help make slight adjustments that always made improvements.

If it's your first time, you get to do a super-fun introductory class (that's accessible to everyone of all ages and levels of athleticism - including "basically none") that teaches you the basics while also keeping it really entertaining with mini-competitions and such. After doing the intro lesson, you're free to sign up any time afterwards for your own private lane to practice in for 1-2 hours or so (bumping you up from a 5-yard distance from your target to a 10-yard one) - and the staff will keep checking in on you and giving you pointers and suggestions to improve your game. Speaking of which, they're all super friendly and knowledgeable - Nas, Ace, Simon and the rest, all great guys with lots of patience and sunny dispositions. It's roughly $35 for 1 hour of use of the space and to rent out a bow and some arrows (and the extra coaching is free) - a very reasonable deal in NYC. My wife and I have been coming back at least twice a month since the Winter and we've had a blast every visit. Super fun to watch yourself progress and get more and more accurate too. And as an added bonus, it's smack dab in the middle of Chinatown - tons of great spots to eat at around here, after an hour of archery. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting or living here.

Natalie herself is a very talented skater and it was a treat to see her roller dancing after class. I went mid-September and meant to return un October but wasn't able to due to my schedule. I did continue to practice what she taught us and hopefully I can clear up a few Saturdays to return soon. There are students at all levels in the space and I spoke to some of them who were skating beautifully and some said they had never skated before the lessons here. I went to the location in Queens Village, Regency Hall. It's a small space but they manage to make it work. Safety is top priority. Aside from knee and elbow pads, hand guards are required too. Some of the skaters had on helmets. The class is 90 minutes and costs $26.10. You can rent skates for an $10. I look forward to going back! They also offer online classes.

This is rock/boulder climbing for multi skill levels, there's even a gym section for players wanting a total workout without the climb. All climbing harness and shoes are provided by the facility and staff were friendly and knowledgeable to the course levels to get ready for the climbs. My child had to exchange climbing shoes three times to get the best fit for her feet and easily exchanged it for her. The fourth floor was basically for younger kids practicing wall climbs with safety harnesses. While the 3rd floor were basically for slope boulder climbing with a soft foam floor. Either of the floor levels were interactive and fun. This was a free event so the facility was jammed packed with a lot of people. Will return on the week-day to practice more with the climbs.

A few days later, a staff member told me by phone that the matter was being investigated. She lied. My membership had been cut off. I asked why. No one told me. I'm an elderly white woman. The other person was half my age, large, and black. She said, "I'm going to get you," and could have done real harm to me. The only explanation I can see is racism.

Taking pics of course is frowned upon but when has that ever stopped me. Building was clean and looked well kept. 14th street Y's staff was very friendly and welcoming. It cost me $15 to rent the board for 2 hours. Very reasonable. The staff is kind and nice. They let you change inside and store all your stuff there.
