Great wait staff. Food was amazing. Sine we found it last week, we've been back weekly.

Very disappointed. I saw the picture of the double cheeseburger and drove from Brownsville to have one. I ordered the cheeseburger and what I got was the sorriest burger I've had. It was a freezer paddy with absolutely no taste and the texture of a piece of used chewing gum. Don't waste your time or money on this place. read more

If you are looking for some kickbutt food this place rocks! Their chips and salsa is HOT, the enchiladas are yummy and fresh pineapple juice is phenomenal. Prices are good, the place is small but packed over lunch hour. read more

My wife was in the mood for a burger, and seeing the first picture on this site was all we needed. The prices were great, the service was very attentive, and the food was on point. Free chips and salsa were good, guacamole appetizer was fresh and parsed so you could mix the ingredients yourself, and the burgers...yeah. I had to challenge myself with the double cheeseburger and it was all I could handle. So good. Wife had the bacon burger but was too stuffed from the guac so we took it home. Tea refills were yuck and numerous. I can't wait to go back. read more

My mom, husband, and I have been coming here for Mexican food for a loooong time. The food is always on point. I love the carne guisada. It's my favorite. The loaded French fries you see on the napkin dispenser are amazing!! Even the tea is delicious. Breakfast is very good especially their breakfast tacos. I have to admit that this place has never let me down not once. This is my husband's favorite place also and he's always satisfied with everything he's had here. This place is a hit and miss. Not consistent. It's just a matter of wanting to take the chance of going back. The charro beans though are excellent best in the valley And only reason I keep going back. Suiza enchiladas were dry and bland, their Pancho nachos fajitas and bbq is good. Everything else I've tried ok. They really need to place a devise at entrance and exit to keep flies out, last dine in was bad with flies. One evening really upset me, hardly any one dining and the waiters were hovered flirting and talking to a set of customers and never turned around to fill our drink or check on us. It was bad!!! Holy smoke! Breakfast hast just been kicked up a notch. No kidding! I am loving the smokiness of the brisket with any of my favorite traditional breakfast orders! Chilaquiles with Brisket, POW! Brisket and egg taco, WHAM! Brisket sandwich with fried egg, KABLAAAM! Huevos Rancheros with side of Brisket, OUT FOR THE COUNT! Pancakes with Brisket, JUST KIDDING. If you have a large group, I suggest you go somewhere else! I ordered a simple cheese enchilada plate which they forgot. By the time I received it, everyone was already done eating. Our server took over 30 minutes to sort out the tickets for us to pay. Instead of charging us separate, like we asked, she charged everything on one ticket to make sure we all paid. I have to say that I recently started frequently visiting this restaurant maybe a little over an year. They have great lunch and dinner specials with tea included. I know that everytime I come I will surely be very satisfied and my pocket appreciates their prices. There is plenty of mexican restaurants to choose from in the area but if you want to try some good TexMex this is the place. They have awesome smoked meats also and you can never go wrong with their brisket. . Can't go anymore Texan than brisket. read more

We were celebrating birthdays at work and got 3 botanas to go. We ordered beef×4, chicken×4, & mixed ×4. We could have easily fed 20 with the amount of food we received. We all ate to the point where we all wanted a nap. When doing to-go botanas, you accept that the chips will be somewhat soggy, but these were crunchy & loaded. The meat was tender & flavorful. Really good torts, beans & hot sauce. Recommend Tejano Grill, but if ordering for a group, know that the portion sizes are huge. read more

Extremely disappointed by the service we received at Tejano Grill. There was a fly in our salsa, which we understand that with doors opening as people come in and out it is bound to happen. However, our server made no apologies for it, rather, he seemed bothered that we addressed the issue. The server got our order wrong on two of the entrees and again made no apology. He never even came back to the table by the end of our meal. The cherry on the cake of dissatisfaction was the fact that there was water thrown all over the mens restroom by the sink (which is understandable because water drips off peoples hands as they get paper towel to dry off) but there was no carpet to catch the drips of water, which resulted in me slipping in the restroom and me slamming my finger into the sink counter. When we addressed the concerns with the manager, they nonchalantly said well if it's an issue call an ambulance. Completely disappointed with the service and as a business owner I hate to post things publicly, but when you're given the opportunity to correct an issue and act like it's not a problem then there is no other option. read more

Me, my son and his wife went here on a Thursday night because we were afraid to come on a Friday or Saturday due to no parking. We were served quickly and the food was outstanding. Me and my son had the fajita/enchilada skillet plate and his wife had the chili con carne plate. WOW the serving was huge, my son is a big guy and he finished his but was really full. I could not finish mine and asked for a "go plate". The fajitas were really tasty and tender. Beans/rice was good also and the enchiladas were over the top. Wife of son said her plate was also great. The server was extra nice and filled our tea without asking. We also had the Brisket Chili Con Queso. Wow it was delicious. I got an order to take home. We can't wait to go back and get some of the other delicious items on the menu as we watched some of it being served. We have gone to other restaurants here in Harlingen, but we all agreed, this is our forever restaurant! You could tell this is a great spot since every night the parking lot is full. While we were visiting Harlingen, we visited Tejano Grill after a family member suggested it when I asked for advice on good Mexican breakfast here. It was great! Our breakfast was super delicious and those homemade tortillas were to die for!! they're huge!!!!! we ordered small tacos and they were jumbo sized! my huevos rancheros were great and the service was very, very good. the waiter was attentive and helpful. We are customers for life after this visit. Can't say enough good stuff about it all. read more

The food is mediocre at best, but the portions are large, so maybe that's the draw. The service however, is horrible. You can go and 49 out of 50 times have no issue, but the 50th will make you understand how horrible these people are. We had dinner there on Thursday May 24th and the Seafoood for two was advertised at $9.50 (which I thought was odd) but since neither my 80yr old father nor I eat a lot, I ordered to split with him. When we got to the cashier, he charged me $24.99 for it. He confirmed that the menu board said $9.50 but still just said that it was a mistake & charged me $24.99. I called the next day to speak with the Manager, the young man that answered, Edward, would not transfer me to a manager until I explained the nature of my call twice, and to his satisfaction. Also, he mocked me because my Spanish is not perfect, & I struggled for words, since he only spoke Spanish to me (to communicate with a business in Harlingen TX). When I did speak to the Manager Edith, she agreed it should have been billed at the advertised price and asked me to come in for the difference. Saturday May 26th I arrived for my refund which she did not give me because I didn't have the original guest check (which they never give you and which she had not asked for in the phone conversation). I had to ask her several times for her Manager, but even then she would not tell me when she would be in, her phone # or her email. I left shaking, I was so upset at the way I had been treated. Horrible horrible people. $15 is well worth the price of finding out where NOT to EVER go or recommend. read more

My wife won a gift certificate for the Tejano Grill so why not. What have we got to loose? I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. On fact elated. The wait staff was not only prompt but extremely attentive and polite. The serving sizes were more than adequate and food was prepared to order and fresh. The brisket was smokey and tender and the fajita meat was char grilled and exquisitely seasoned. Wonderful experience all round. Absolutely the poorest excuse for Mexican food I've ever had in the valley in the past five years. This crap isn't even fit to take home to the dog. Refried beans and chicken out of a can. This place is very underrated one of the best restaurants in the Rio Grande Valley. Me and my fiancee' make the drive to eat dinner at this great place. I always get my regular plate the three meat combo the brisket is prepared just right and fajitas very soft and tender. I found this restaurant using Yelp and I would recommend this restaurant to anybody it's a great establishment and plates are very reasonably priced to fit your family's dinning out budget. We just had our girls day out lunch at the Tejano Grill today and we were all very pleased and happy. The short rib special for the day was wonderful. The meat was so tender and flavorful. Two of the other girls had Fedeo Piccadillo (spelling?). It was a ground beef and spaghetti plate with charro beans as a side and they loved it. I tasted it, loved it and will get it next time. We are looking at the carry out menu and will look forward to taking some Bar B Q home. read more
