I just went to pick up an order of 2 halah breads schnitzel and 1 plate of rice and meat balls. The cashier pack everything in 1 plastic bag, said Shabbat shalom and thank you . I drove back to my office to eat with my coworkers. When I got to the office I opened the bag and see only the 2 schnitzel order , the meat ball dish wasn't there. I call to ask ether for a refund or for them to send it in Uber (it's 20 min drive from my location). The lady over the phone blame me that I didn't pick it up and it's there waiting for me on the counter. (and again it was all packed and sealed in a bag that can easily contain 5 different dishes, and the same guy that made the schnitzel is the guy that pack the meet balls dis Poor customer service, I will never order from them again. And by the way, I'm Israeli.

I am a fan of the Tel Aviv restaurants, but this one should be judged on an entirely different level, as while it is under the "Tel Aviv" umbrella, there is a huge distinction this location has as their "Authentic Chef Kitchen." Simply put, this location is really a stand-restaurant, a mom and pops if you will, with their own menu and nothing like a chain restaurant. The kitchen is in the back, and there is a small counter inside the Super Sal Market, but it's really as if you are eating in father and daughter (David and Maytal) combo's home, as they serve you a rotating (with some everyday mainstays) variety of authentic Israeli food, specifically Mizrahi/Sephardic specialties. I have to be careful what I buy here because my Iraqi mother-in-law can get very jealous, but she even loves their food. My sabra wife sends me here a couple times a week to get that homemade (as in it's not only yummy, but it reminds her of home). My baby daughter scoops the "Israeli" couscous (they have excellent traditional couscous as well) with her hands right into her mouth. Their variety of soups is as good for the soul as it is for the body, all healthy and delicious. Their Falafel? I don't think it's the same as the other locations, because truthfully, I'm not crazy about Tel Aviv falafel but I really like it here. Their Schnitzel? Again, blows away the other locations, in fact, it's the best schnitzel in town, and by that I'm including Dr. Sandwich in the Fairfax District....and here you don't have to wait until shabbat to get Dr. Sandwich's famed schnitzel on challah, at Tel Aviv Authentic Kitchen you can choose the fluffy, doughy, golden goodness of the challah schnitzel sandwich every day. Now, I'm trying to work on my figure, as they say, so I can't be eating that heavenly sandwich every day, so today I mixed it up and got the grilled chicken thighs in a pita. Also fantastic. Their meatballs? also fantastic. And while it's not remotely Israeli, they make a penne marinara that's better than most of the Italian restaurants in Los Angeles, too. I'm not joking. I call them just to request that. In closing, I can go on about the food, the authentic dishes, the grilled vegetables, all the ways they do potatoes, the sauces, the stews, etc., but almost as important as the food itself is the hospitality, and in that department this father/daughter team also shine. They know your name, they know what you like, and they do their best to serve you with love from their family to yours. You can't get much better than that in the food business. It's why I go there a couple times a week, and why I highly recommend you do to!

I call ahead and order is ready. Best falafel, roasted eggplant, but skip the fries. I always order the pita falafel with all the extras.

The ribeye arais was the standout--crispy, toasted pita on the outside with insanely juicy, well-seasoned ribeye packed inside. Every bite had that perfect balance of crunch and richness, and it didn't need much sauce, but the dips on the side took it up another level. The lamb arais was just as impressive--slightly more gamey (in a good way), super tender, and loaded with spices that gave it a deep, savory kick. You can tell they're not holding back on quality or flavor here. The sides tied everything together--the fresh tomato salad cut through the richness, and the pickles and sauces added that extra punch to keep every bite interesting. Overall, this spot is all about simple food done really right--crispy, juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. Definitely a must if you're craving something hearty and different.

It gets its name and style of cooking simple Israeli food, from the famous market, of the same name, in Jerusalem. Important to note that Arais (Arayes), is actually a street food. Essentially, a homemade small triangular pita, stuffed with succulent meat, then freshly baked on a continuous rotating large plate, at the center of a gas fire clay oven called the "taboon". The menu here is very basic, but high in quality, ingredients and freshness. There are also other offerings. The owner is charming and most welcoming to all the patrons. Yes, there is love and affection. He has personality, that you hardly ever see in any restaurant. Providing complimentary tastings of his items, while you wait for their preparation and production, to go. In my case, small portions of the warm garbanzo beans with freshly made (silky and smooth) hummus, then pickles and onions, also with dipping. Both fantastic. If you do not get Arias when you are here, you are missing the point, or maybe in the wrong place. My choice was Lamb Arias, to go. 4 crisp and charred triangular pieces fresh off the taboon, accompanied with regular and green tahini sauces, and a small, unimpressive tomato onion salad ($26). The lamb meat was juicy, well seasoned and cooked perfect. Also, as a side, I added the Potatoes "Medura" ($7). This was truly amazing. Thick longitudinal wedges, well browned on the outside and soft on the inside. Overall, an unforgettable experience. Excellent service, fantastic food, and an unforgettable warm and comfortable experience.

Not only my wife's chicken kabob was not cooked well, it was cold too!! Her meal was not the only meal on the table that was cold. The next morning, we both had severe stomachaches which we could not possibly believe. Please do not be fooled by the portions that they give you, they fill up your plates with lots of salads, to cover up the stingy portion of one skewer chicken or beef kabob which they serve you on their plates!! They claim to be glatt kosher but their food, meat & chickens are not healthy at all. We will never step foot in there again. After a while, there was a response from the owner: " I am sorry to hear about your experience with us. This is not something that we take lightly. I would like to offer my apologies. Please give our main office a call and ask for my secretary. She will be happy to hear from you and will do her best to rectify the situation." I did call and talked to her. She said that she is going to talk to the owner and will get back to me. She texted me the following: I appreciate the time you spent talking to me regarding your experience at Tel Aviv Grill. I spoke to the owner and he agreed to send you a gift card in the amount of $150 which you can use at any of our locations including "Popular" our newest store and Tel Aviv Tapas. Although I understand that your review was based on a true experience, considering the fact we are rectifying the situation, will you please either remove the negative review or rewrite it with a better light? I called her & told her that if the owner wants me to rewrite my review with a better light, please ask him to make the gift card $200 since I have been to his Tel Aviv Tapas restaurant a few times & have spent a lot of money there, the main courses are over $90 a dish, salads are over $26 & alcoholic beverages are over $28 each. She said let me talk to him & I will let you know. She got back to me, saying that after speaking with the owner about our conversation, he is taking the deal off the table now. She added that, I am busy with other things & do not have time to negotiate endlessly about this. This is not the right way and the right attitude to rectify situations & make clients satisfied!!

Consisting mostly of homemade dishes, ready to put in the oven this place offers a variety of cook dishes to go. There is no seating inside, however, you have you are welcome to sit at one of the outdoor tables. The Cholent was mediocre. It was missing many of the ingredients typically found in Cholent. On top of that it was both very heavy on the turmeric, but lacking basics such as salt. This may be explained way by the fact that this Cholent appeals to the Ashkenazi crowd who prefer things to be relatively on the bland side. The vegetables were tasty, but what seemed to be warmed vegetables, turned out to be cold vegetables with one exception; the warm okra was mixed in with the cold vegetables. A mistake that can cause problems down the line. The Israeli pitas that were bought to take home and freeze were perfectly good. Of note was the staffs, great attitude, big smiles, and willingness to help and guide. This reviewer however, gets the feeling that if you are not Israeli (that is to say, Hebrew speaker) or Jewish, you'd be lost at the menu and offerings. So some homework and preparation are essential.

The aroma is that of Kababs, falafel and more. Yes, if you closed your eyes, forgot that you are in the valley, you may actually be in a small cafe, in Jerusalem. I came here for a carry out lunch (like I always). What attracted me about the menu was that it was small. Ne way to look at it is, that they have mastered all those items on the menu. My interest though lay mainly on one item, the Pargiot skewer. Essentially, an Israeli baby chicken, where the boneless skinless chicken thighs are marinated in herbs and grilled for succulence and taste. A first for me. I ordered one skewer a la carte ($11). It lived up to its reputation. Not only flavorful, but with a different satisfying chicken bite and texture. If anything, it was slightly over cooked. You have to get falafel when you are at an Israeli place. Here each costs $0.75 and I added six of them to the order and requested extra tahini. While you can get falafel in most middle eastern restaurants, they are never the same. This one seems to have hit the mark in a unique way. The stuffing had more greenery, hence accentuating the fragrance, mouthfeel and taste. One of the best, if not the best. Tahini was also superb, with the right amount of viscosity and flow. Service was exceptional.
