Chicken shawarma
Benita H.

Considering the portion size, the price was very reasonable. The food was delicious and high quality. The customer service was excellent and friendly. You could also choose to sit either inside the restaurant or in the outdoor seating area.

Goodness! They are busy!!! It's a casual dining spot. You order at the register and give your receipt to the food area. They prepare you food on the spot. It kind of reminds me of a version of Chipotle in a way that you can customize your meal. I had the Schnitzel Plate and my plate was loaded!! The schnitzel it self was okay, but it was packed with a lot of greens. I love that it comes with pita and hummus. The fries were very bland and soggy so pass on that. I love that they have eggplant too.

Tel Aviv Grill reminds me of when I lived in Jerusalem during my first year of college and used to party on Ben Yehuda street on Saturday nights. Authentic Israeli food all the way! Kosher, fast paced, busy, and serving a hungry Jewish population. It's set up in the same fashion as Subway: pick your meat, pick how you want it -- pita, laffah, or plate -- and then move over to the counter where the guys are making it and tell them what you want on it. Portions are very generous, and the merguez and schnitzel are delicious. The fries are fantastic! Hot sauce is super-hot, so be warned. I plan on going back to try to shawarma. I appreciate the tefillin-laying station and the handwashing station with the prayer over bodily orifices. I also appreciate all of the tzedakah boxes. It feels good to walk in someplace and have the food be delicious and the setting authentically Jewish and Israeli.

Came in here with the fam and it was a no brainer! Fresh food, large portions, wonderful and friendly staff! Very accommodating with kids. Easy ordering (Thanks Ben!) and easy pick up at the kitchen bar (huge shout out to Mario!). Everyone here was wonderful and they all work so nicely together. Food is delicious and they have so much to choose from, definitely coming back!

Very tasty food! The service was great, just wish I gotten a bit more meat for the price you pay for the rib eye skewer. Hummus is fire!!!

Absolutely fantastic Israeli cuisine in Encino. You order at the counter and then move in a small line to a lengthy open kitchen counter, where you will find a variety of fresh salads and sides laid out in front of you behind glass. A nice worker will then ask you on which salads and sides you want and then the worker will literally load up your plate with all these amazing salads, grilled eggplant, hummus, rice, fries and a hot, thick, pillowy pita bread. As soon as your fire-grilled kabob of choice is ready, it will get unloaded onto your humongous plate of fresh goodies. This time I went with their chicken kabob, which was pretty perfect-- very well marinated, came right off the grill and was so juicy, so tender, so good! Oh, and not to forget, they have THE creamiest, tastiest hummus in all of LA! The spot itself is pretty spacious, with 12 or so tables inside and a large welcoming patio with around 10 tables on the outside. You have israeli music playing in the background, the vibes and energy are great! Will definitely be back again!

Service and food were very satisfying, with portion sizes more than generous. I had the Beef Shawarma and had no complaints the food was flavorful and well-prepared. Parking can be a bit tricky since there are several other businesses at this location. The ambiance is average and is perfectly suited for a casual lunchtime visit.

I am in love! I was here recently after picking up my meds at CVS. The Shawarma was incredible! The atmosphere was welcoming. The service was fantastic! I am literally trying to find a flaw, but after every visit... it gets harder and harder to do so. It's that good! I will definitely be coming back when I am in the area.

The food was simply excellent every dish we got was tasty and well prepared you can tell they use quality ingredients and pay attention to every detail the place is very clean organized and pleasant to sit in the atmosphere is good even though it is almost always full when we come the service is self service but the staff at the counters are patient and helpful when needed the portions are very generous the plates are full and they do not hold back on anything it feels like you get full value and even more we really enjoyed the experience it was a delicious and satisfying meal definitely a place worth coming back to

Chicken breast laffa with fries
Sam E.

I am obsessed with Tel Aviv grill and this location is particularly good! If you love Israeli food this is the place to go in LA! They have everything from chicken shawarma to ribeye skewer to schnitzel to falafel for all the vegetarians out there. Prices are a little high, generally in the mid to high 20s. You can get either a pita, laffa (wrap), baguette, or plate (with rice), filled with the proteins above and your choice of spreads and veggies. That being said, the amount of food you get in one order is big enough to serve 2. So come hungry and expect to take some food to go. You order at the counter, then go to the sides station where they make your plate just how you like it. You can fill your pita or wrap with hummus, tahini, veggies, and hot sauce if desired. All orders come with a side of fries and fried eggplant. The thick-cut fries are perfectly lightly fried and well seasoned with salt. They are honestly some of the best Fries I have ever had! I usually get their chicken breast; it's always so juicy and perfectly grilled. Their chicken shawarma is also good if you like the crispy bits. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating which is great if you have pets. The staff was very friendly and it's nice because you get to serve yourself. Great for a quick bite and go.

Came in on a weekday and it wasn't packed at all. I've been here on a Saturday and a Sunday and it is difficult to find parking and or even a scene to enjoy the meal inside. Ordered $20 Burger ( comes with fries) $5 Coke can Order is quick and hot plate everytime. Great service behind the counter and delicious food Interior ambiance is nice and welcoming with very clean restrooms

Chicken shawarma and falafel plate
Kevork M.

Ordered a chicken shawarma and a falafel plate. The food and sides were both good, but the portions of chicken and falafel felt a bit small for the price. Overall tasty, just not the best value. Service was great.

Chicken schwarma and house beef (I think it's called?) platters.
Alexis S.

Fantastic portions (we had two plates for three of us and didn't finish). I like the beef the best. My only improvement would be more seasoning on the veggie salad sides. Just a little bland. Love the eggplant and fries. Amazing pita. Great hummus - and I rarely like hummus. I've always heard great things and now I know why.

The fries are completely different from the Westwood location, and this spot doesn't offer the bone in chicken that Westwood has. Even the taste of the ground beef and the chicken shish kebab is very different from what I've had at better locations. We also went to the location near The Grove in Los Angeles, and that was different too. Honestly, it feels like they don't care about this location because nothing matches. If this is supposed to be a franchise, everything on the menu should be consistent, but it's not. At this point, it feels like a completely different restaurant. The biggest issue, though, is the temperature. Every time I walk in, it feels like a freezer. It's extremely uncomfortable to sit and eat, especially when it's already cold outside. I keep hoping it'll be different, but it never is. this one really needs to fix the AC and be more consistent. Heads up if you're going to any location expecting the same exact taste or texture of the chicken kebab, ground beef, sandwich bread, fries, or sides, it's not going to be the same. Everything is noticeably different, both in taste and texture, and even the menu items themselves are not consistent across locations.

Knowing that their focus is on their falafel I expected it to be good, but I didn't expect to be as wowed as I was! My falafel bowl came out first (super fast, might I add) and I went straight to dipping the falafel in their house garlic sauce-- it was the perfect snack. Although by the time the pita's were served I had already filled myself up on the falafel bowl, I still greatly enjoyed the unique flavors of both. The sabich pita relies primarily on the smokiness of the eggplant for it's flavor, whereas the falafel pita sees the addition of tomtato, cucumber, cabbage and tahini which greatly compliments the creamy, nutty texture of the falafel. The dishes at Falafel on Wheels are so hearty that it doesn't take long to feel satisfied, so I brought my entrees home for my friends to help me finish. Although Falafel on Wheels is a food truck I was lucky enough to score one of the tiny tables they place along the sidewalk, and I enjoyed watching other patrons stop by to chat with the business owners. It's clear that this spot has become a valley institution! Even though they aren't a brick-and-mortar, Falafel on Wheels still has a sense of community you might not expect from a food truck. Because the truck is stationed alongside the Bevmo parking lot there is plenty of parking, which means you have no excuse to not stop by! It's a stress free experience that's sure to satisfy.

It is one place that always puts me in a conundrum, because there is so much here to order. Since about 6 months, they've been opening at 9 am, with an additional spread of breakfast selections. Yes, you can get the Israeli breakfast, as well a selection of numerous salads, if you are looking for something unique. Kind of a small tasting menu, if you will. I came here for lunch, to order my favorites. You have to start with small bites and I always gravitate towards the falafel. It comes with eight fresh and perfectly deep fried balls that are optimally crisped (and crunchy) on the outside, with a soft tasty green filling on the inside. That, with the accompanying tahini sauce, takes you to another place. Always consistent. Hard to come here without making a choice from the butchers section. I go for the middle eastern kabob (this time one skewer) that arrived just after it was grilled with good char, nice coloring, succulent and exploding with fragrance and taste. Each bite allowed you to taste the moist meat and its spices. For my sides, the mashed potatoes (with onions) had wonderful texture and mouthfeel. For the second side, my choice was the house hummus, good body, silky feel and a thick wholesome and smooth blend of its ingredients. It lubricates your tongue. That, when scooped up with pieces of fresh Laffa bread, really hits the spot. Service was attentive, thoughtful and informative. Need to come back often, to try more from the menu. IMHO, this could easily be the best Israeli restaurant in the Valley and to think of it, even in the Los Angeles area.
