I don't like doing reviews and never write one. If I had a bad experience I just let it go and am considerate to think of it's a small business they need help or maybe that person had a bad day and just go about my business bc I move on. BUT no not this time...telle tires and how they almost charged me $2000+ for literally nothing. I've heard a squeaky sound for a few days on my front passenger side near the wheel and while I'd had pads put on a few months ago thought maybe I need brakes or rotars may need to be checked. I don't know anything about cars so figured I'd go to telle after reading reviews and it being conveniently located. I called asking how much aprox for possibly replacement of brakes for the front and the guy Brandon said about 329 plus tax but would need to check to see if I needed pads and other items he could r be sure till he saw it. so I dropped it off explaining I heard the squeaky sound not when I was braking but when I was driving and it went away after awhile or when I pressed my brakes sometimes. I said sounded like maybe something was dragging but I didn't know which is why I thought maybe something to do with the front brakes. I wasn't having any other issues. I left my car there and got a call back about two and a half hours later from The technician Brandon saying I needed a "complete overhaul of both front and back is recommended". That I needed not just pads rotors and brakes all needs to be replaced, but the caliper and hoses would need to be replaced in both front and back were leaking and worn down. He said only my right front side is breaking and the others are overheating and it's a danger. I was shocked again I hadn't had any issues no noises no grinding sounds no alerts and take good care of routine maintance on my car. I asked how much is all of this he said approx $2000+ and after I said I could afford that what are my options could I do just the front he said yeah that would be around 1150 after tax. That's a lot of money for a person just to throw down for repairs when nothing really feels wrong with the car. I paused and realize not all of this could be true, I literally had pads put on and had my car inspected just a few months ago. I did tell him that as well. I said I haven't had any issues driving with wheel alignment turns no squeaky or metal sounds other than that squeak occasionally that I had mentioned. So I said I'd pick up my car and need to think about all this. $1150 is a lot of money and I dont drive much, nothing but the soft random squeak I wanted a second opinion. Picked up my car as he sat eating Fritos (ok I get you need a snack but how about some professionalism) I thanked him for his time and asked if he could send me the text with a pic of the caliper he mentioned he had on the phone and the quote for everything that was wrong with listed items like brakes pads are at 3mm. I don't know about cars but needed to run it by my dad and get a second opinion. I knew this had to be wrong. That day and the next day (today Friday) I took it to TWO independent mechanics and gave them the list of items directly printed from telle tires that Brandon gave me that may be wrong with my car. I also made sure to tell them both about what I had heard from my car (see above). BOTH came back with the same disgnosis: I did not need anything that was recommended. Pads were at 85% in the back 50% in front no need to replace, nothing was wrong no leaks no overheating in rotors, hoses and looks good and clean and balanced. None of that really shocked me seeing as I just had mt car inspected and again nothing but the squeak I heard was wrong when I did drive my car. So took it to the second mechanic (the one I visited last) same findings EXCEPT....You know what was wrong...there was a rubber washer (best way he explained to me) pressed up against the axel causing that sound. Both mechanics drove it and heard that sound checked everything over. He moved the washer off the axel, put the tires and such back on, drove it again and the sound was gone. He assured me the measurements of the pads and showed me that the brakes and rotors were in good shape. It's obvious ludicrous and pathetic telle tires just wanted to make some money or get to a sales quota and take advantage of someone who came in looking for help without knowledge of cars. This was absurd and quite frankly in a time where everyone's hurting with money and things getting more and more expensive people should be looking out for one another. I wouldbe happily kept returning to an honest business and given them my money. It's sad to see a business and people trying to hustle and take advantage of people. Shame on you. read more

We have used this shop several times through the years and are pleased with the service. It is hard to find a shop that is straight forward and thinks outside the box to determine what needs to be fixed on a car. Communication is good and turnaround times have been what was communicated from the start -- or sooner based on busyness of the week. read more

Took advantage of a woman (my wife) and tampered with the vehicle. My wife took our van in for an oil change and to give it a once over before our upcoming trip. Somehow they charged her $131!!!! They charged $47 for an oil change, $60 to replace a stripped lug nut and stud (which the only perosn that has touched the tires in the last year was me and I hand tightened the lugs before wrenching them down). And then $24 for labor? insane!!! and it gets worse! the paperwork said all fluids were full and th evehicle was fine. On her drive home the check engine light came on. She stopped at autozone and had the check engine code read and it said the cooling system was not operating properly. Once home, I looked at it. I found coolant in the engine bay. The coolant reservoir was 90% empty (interesting being they said it was full on the receipt). Tracked down a hose that had a hoseclamp missing and was leaking. This doesnt happen on its own. It was removed by the shop. I pulled the thermostat off and the bolts came off super easy with one hand. Again, indicative of the shop tampering with the system. I can't believe mechanics still use these dirty old mechanic tricks to get you back in. BBB has been contacted! Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this terrible place! read more

Heading out of town with my disabled son and two dogs when I was alerted of low tire pressure. I pulled into Telle Tire and asked them to take a look. They came out and spotted a nail in the tire. They told me there was no need for anyone to get out of the car and came out, removed the tire, plugged it and put it back on within 15 minutes. Then, despite my objection, they would not charge me for the service. Thank you to Raymond and his crew for providing excellent customer service. This was the first time I'd been to Telle Tire but it definitely won't be the last! read more

This place was awesome. They were very thorough, straightforward, and honest about everything we discussed. We had an issue with some hose in our car, and they had to pick it up from somewhere in St. Louis. The service was speedy and professional. We had an issue with the computer in our vehicle after the repairs, and they fixed it up without any additional charge. They also did some testing for us prior to the repair for no extra charge. The mechanic (owner?) we dealt with was excellent. We have no complaints about this place, and we will definitely be returning if/when we have problems in the future. read more

I always have a hard time finding a mechanic I can trust to not screw me around. I finally found one at Assured Automotive. We took our van in to have brakes put on. Tim ( the owner) said both front and rear need replaced. They also checked everything else on the van. The check engine light was on and he read the codes and told us to get a new gas cap and try that it usually fixes the problem. We had them replace the brakes and we left. About an hour later he calls. The mechanic only did the front brakes and not the rear. He asked us if we could come back and they would put the back ones on. To me that is honesty. Many other shops would not say anything and just keep the extra $250 we paid as a tip. Thank you Tim for your honesty!!! read more

I took my car in because the service engine light was on. I told them I thought my fuel pump needed replaced. They called me back to tell me all I needed was spark plugs and that they were going to drive it around and make sure everything was fine. They used up half a tank of my gas and charged me over $200. When I went to pick the car up it wouldn't start. They jumped it and I drove off. The engine light immediately came back on and all the problems I had told them about were still occurring. I called them back to tell them and all they said was that they were sorry that they didn't fix the problem and that I could take it in so they could continue to figure out what was wrong. They wasted my time, cost me a rental car, time off work, and failed to do the job I came in to have done. read more
