We were thrilled to see Pati working the door after (we believe) 30+ years. Marro's is 55 this year (older than us) and has become a family summer tradition. Specifically, we always enjoy the garlic knots, chicken parm, salads, pizza, and vino (great selection). Server was young, attentive, and eager to please. We appreciate (as locals) having an upscale dinner place that offers SO much more than "out of a bag" bar food. Marro's is a mature vibe that keeps you returning every summer.

Marro's Freshly Baked Garlic Rolls. Sadly, the rolls do not fill the baking pan!!!! I hope they correct this problem immediately!

Garlic Rolls - A favorite tradition, however, seem to suffer from Apparent Garlic Roll atrophy!!

One of our favorite places to eat in Saugatuck but if you don't want to wait you have to get their way before they open. I love their Gnudi appetizer which is a vegetable mixture of pureed cauliflower, spinach, cheeses and more and I get half and half which is marinara on one and Alfredo on the other. Heavenly. My daughter loved the lobster ravioli special. Her boyfriend got the baked penne and added chicken....he loved the dish but the chicken was an underseasoned after thought. I got the penne vodka pasta and didn't read the description because I didn't expect them to add a huge change in the over 10 years I've been going but they added sliced Italian sausage which I would have left off. It overpowered the sauce and I feel they added less sauce to the dish. I honestly dont know if I would order it again after it being a favorite for ten years.

Stumbled into Marro's while walking around downtown Saugatuck and I'm so glad we did! The pizza was really good, the cheese bread was fantastic, and the pasta hit the spot. Great portions and a cozy atmosphere--definitely a solid stop if you're in the area and craving Italian. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

Service was great. Very nice waiter. Got constant refills of our water on a very hot day. He even put a candle in our cheesecake for our anniversary. Food...didn't like it. (Besides the cheesecake.) We ordered the famous garlic rolls. You could smell the garlic a mile away. The grease pooling off of it was crazy. For me personally, one bite made me nauseous. The flavor reminded me of Texas Toast and I hate Texas Toast, which also makes me nauseous. I tried so hard to finish a piece of these rolls and I couldn't do it. The bread itself was fluffy and nice, but I couldn't do the greasy cheese...and I LOVE garlic. These rolls were disgusting to me. I'm sorry. My husband liked them, however, but agreed with me on the grease. My fettuccine Alfredo was not good. The fettuccine was undercooked and there was a different cheese in the dish that ruined it for me. Too overpowering. Just stick to the Parmesan for the cheese, please. Husband agreed that it was not good. My husband had the lasagna and liked it, but it wasn't his favorite. He told me that he wouldn't come back to this place unless we tried something else, like the pizza. We came on a July Sunday and put our name on the list and we were able to pick a time even though they don't take reservations, this was pretty much a reservation. They don't do a free dessert for anniversaries, but they did put a candle in the cheesecake we paid for. The cheesecake was the only thing I liked and it was very good. It's more of a softer cheesecake versus a thick one, but very delicious. The place itself is very outdated inside and old. It didn't look like it had any updates since opening.

I love penne alla vodka and of course seeing it on vacation in Michigan I was like I must try it! Of course it's not as good as NY but it was good. Service here was good and a nice ambiance. It was a good dinner out.

Okay I loved this place so much. We were seated right away and the ambiance was great. Our service was so nice and they were flexible with our order, like I was able to get the Penne Alla Vodka without prosciutto cause I am a pescatarian. The Penne Alla Vodka was SO GOOD and my dad LOVED his Spaghetti Bolognese. The dessert were AMAZING too. The lemon cake was heavenly and I really enjoyed the cannoli, and I don't even like cannolis. Highly recommend, must go!

Great Italian in a old Italian restaurant style. Raviolis are outstanding along with the cheese bread and sauce.

We were seated at a promo table overlooking the river and had a blast watching the parade of boats motoring by. Our server was friendly and fast. More drinks and time to peruse the menu. Our food came out without too long a wait and we really liked our mahi mahi tacos and the grouper Reuben. The Reuben was such a great novelty and I loved the generous portion of grouper breaded and deep fried to perfection with the right amount of fixins with the marble rye. Good fries too. It's a little strange that the upper and lower deck have separate host stands with separate waits, but not the end of the world. While we did have to wait a bit, a man (owner? Regular? Guardian angel?) told the hostess to bump us to the top of the wait list and we got in fairly quickly after that. All servers/hostesses were very pleasant. The food and drinks were delicious! We had a great view of the water watching all the boats come through. Whether you're in need of a meal or a drink, I absolutely recommend the BARge and can't wait to return.

Sure, I'd leave places and be like, "I should really do them a solid" but then I just went home and either forgot about it or started doing other stuff. Have gotten really into running since COVID and that's pretty much my favorite topic of discussion (running, not COVID). Had between 15 and 20 Miller Lites over the course of a three-night span here in late June 2026. This place is like Outback Steakhouse in the "no rules, just right" type of way. I do not believe they serve food here but did see bartenders making microwavable popcorn on request to several patrons. So this place is designed with a three-room set-up. You walk in and it's a square carpeted room that can be used for live music. Then you reach the bar area, then there are pool tables. There seemed to be an area behind the pool tables but I was too afraid to go back there. Now in terms of bar design, I would have led with the bar but that's just me and I'm sure the architects (possibly Mike Brady from "The Brady Bunch") knew what they were doing. I tend to trust professionals, apart from what our public health "experts" did to us during the forementioned COVID. This bar is cash only. That's probably in other reviews. Also, if you have AT&T cell service, good luck. There's no service so you can't look up scores and check Instagram. And now you're thinking, "what about the wifi?" C'mon bro, be serious. I love this bar. They have four different TVs in the main bar area that range from 19 to 45 inches. All are on different setups. Antenna, YouTubeTV, etc. The staff is fantastic. Patrick and Katie were my two favorites. Entertaining and straight out of bartending central casting. I was just drinking beers so I can't comment on what like a cocktail or normal-person drink tastes like. Clientele ranges from bachelorette parties to people who have seen some shit. It's a dive bar that never had to try to be a dive bar. You'll read other reviews on this place and they are super granular or longwinded or whatever. Don't pay attention to those bozos. This place is strictly vibes. Did I mention the dropped ceilings have art paintings on them? One even has a Pontiac painted on it. Hell yeah, Michigan. Haven't seen a Pontiac since cars still had cassette tape players in them. I would live there if I could. And I'm a proud Ohioan.
