Perhaps with a used car I'll continue to find malfunctions. Hope not. Would be nice if Toyota would either provide or offer the option to purchase a vehicle handbook. I'm not a techie so I do not know how to operate anything on the screen (radio, etc.). Do not know the function of many other buttons on the car. Car rides comfortably. Still waiting on second key. By that, I mean , one of the service guys David said , if the fluid is anywhere above the low , they won't touch it. 2 of my fluids on my Prius were right above the low line & they said they won't top them off anymore. Talk about a crazy couple of days...Drove to work Wednesday, and car was fine. Drive to work Thursday, and my A/C is not working, will only blow hot air. Car is still under warranty, so I make an appointment at the dealership for Saturday morning. After a couple hours, they called me as they had found the problem. Apparently a rodent of sorts got up under my car and chewed through the wiring harness, completely chewing through the A/C wiring and partially through wiring leading to Fuel injectors (?). They said it was only a matter of time before the car started sputtering and became undrivable. Bad news is that is not covered by the warranty, and the estimate to replace the harness and wiring was just under $6,000. Good News is I called my insurance carrier, and AAA said they covered that sort of thing so all I would have to pay is my deductible, and they arranged for a rental car for me while the claim & repairs are being handled. Bad news is that when I called Enterprise for them to come pick me up, all locations remotely near me were closed until Monday. I'm now stuck, 30 miles away from home, alone & without a car. Good news is that the car dealership provided me with a car to use, at no charge, until I can get back over there on Monday and get Enterprise to bring me a car. Can I just say that I love Temecula Valley Toyota? they always take care of me. (Patrick in the Service Dept was wonderful!) Not to mention, while I'm sitting in the lobby waiting, my salesman that sold me the car 2 years ago received a notification that I was there for repairs so he came to see me. I am so sad to be writing this review.. But the SERVICE DEPT has gone downhill fast. So I bought my car from this location and have been taking it here to be serviced since then, but this last year the service has been horrific and after the last incident I will not go back for service again. Let me start by saying I needed a front and back tire last March, instead of telling me that I should always replace the front tires at the same time they told me it was okay to replace just one of the front tires and the back tire.. Well that is the worst thing you can do, which I found out later.. So now flash forward to this year my car made noises when I was turning the wheel I take it in and they tell me after spending quite a bit of money they fixed it.. Well less than a week later the noise is back, I take it in again and they say it's fine, this was a few months ago and so I resolve without spending a ton of money that I have to live with the noise.. So flash forward again to this week and I am driving the car and the alternator goes out while I am driving I call the dealer and they tell me they want $1100 to replace it and oh by the way it is a refurbed alternator what???? So I take it to a highly recommended mechanic he charges half of what the dealer wanted and I also have a NEW alternator, but wait there is more... He is removing the radiator to get to the alternator and a whole chunk of it just crumbles!! If this would have happened while I was driving it would have been so bad.. My car I bought used about 3 years ago it was supposed to have been certified and a radiator should last 8 years so yeah what happened here Toyota??? Then I am also told the front tire tread is bad on BOTH tires (the tire was bought at the Toyota service department in March 2019) and he also told me NEVER just replace one tire in the front both have to be replaced at the same time or rotate both of the back to the front. This is also why the car was making noises when I was turning it! So I call Toyota and they tell me well it was last year I can't guarantee anything and you would have to bring your vehicle in and I would have to call the tire place.. SO I decided that I would just go to Evans Tire in Encinitas to have the tires replaced.. Well they noticed my tire pressure light on and did a quick (free of charge) diagnostic test on the sensors (my car has 5 sensors one on each tire and one on the spare) and it was the spare that was low in air once they filled the spare the tire pressure light went out. I have been to Toyota Service twice since this light was on and I was told they checked all of the tires (obviously not true they didn't check the spare) and it would cost me $169 for a diagnostic and then the cost of the sensor and labor. ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS CHECK THE SPARE!!! OVERALL I WON'T BE BACK AFTER COMING HERE FOR OVER 3 YEARS... PLEASE CHECK THE WORK THEY DO AND GET A SECOND OPINION ON WHAT IS NEEDED, AFTER WHAT HAPPENED TO ME I DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH MY CAR ANYMORE. read more

It's like any other dealership. When you come in, you should already know what to expect. You have sales: vultures as I like to call them. They normally are outside or looking outside waiting for anyone to pull up and talk to in hopes of a purchase. Service: same thing, a handful of staff outside to greet people coming in for maintenance. With the standard, "what can we help you with today?" They should really use their database more effectively and just have license plates ready for their appointments for the day so that they don't have to ask that question unless you don't have an appointment. You're welcome for the suggestion! The waiting lobby normally has small water bottles, coffee or hot drink station, and donuts. No separate business center. read more

If I could put 0 stars I would have!! I smell gas inside my leased 2020 Corolla so I book an appointment back in January. The repair team tell me they didn't smell anything or find any problems. I am driving the car for 3weeks but still smell gas! So I book another appointment. They now can smell the gas and located the issue. However the hose line from my gas tank damaged is not covered under lease and the charge for repair is $1450 before tax. Part costing $87 Labor costing $1360......???!!!! I ask for the 2 parts needed and have my own mechanic look at my car. The 2 parts they told me were needed were not the parts damaged but instead a separate smaller hose line which cost $36. Super easy fix and I was charged $220!!! Are you joking me trying to charge $1450!!! And the audacity to call me and ask me how I wish to pay so you could repair the car!!! Save your money from these crooks and get a second opinion! If I could give my car back there and then I would have. I definitely won't be looking to Toyota again!! read more

Recently went in for service and there is good reason for this to be a one star review and I'll get to that at the end, this would have been 3. I've owned two Rav4's in my life and my experience with my 07' being much better than my 17' Rav4 and I owned a couple different brands in between and never heard of a locked transmission. Toyota now locks the transmissions on vehicles so you are required to go get a $250 transmission fluid change a stead of $75-125 like I usually do. I don't understand at all how they could rack up 38.5 HOURS of labor on my car. Did one guy spend his ENTIRE work week on, transmission flush (1 hour), replace pads and rotors (3 hours x2), and an oil change (1 hour). This place is ridiculous, 38 HOURS LMAOOOOO. I am literally never buying a Toyota again especially taking into account they couldn't even not spill this coffee of have the decency to clean it up (which was on the floor in the back seat have no idea why it was tossed up here) read more

We did have to wait a bit (about an hour) to see an individual in Finance. However, it was a busy Saturday so I'm sure it's just because the dealership was crowded. Finance was painless enough, we noticed that they charged us for the security system we did not want and it was taken off the contract then and there. I did not get a full tank of gas when given the vehicle (which I thought was possibly the norm because it was a used car.) However, Alex called to say that he mistakenly didn't see that no one filled it so I can absolutely come back at my convenience and they will fill my tank. I brought my car brand new from this Toyota dealership a few years back. I tried to keep the service with the dealership each time but after several issues with having more problems after brining it in and being misguided on clear standing issues I decided to look for a more reliable auto service. Not to mention I found items gone threw in my car and the hood support was off. They are also flawless at not telling you about covered warranties you have unless you ask, costing a customer more money if they are unaware when checking in. I learned that Toyota dealership systems don't talk to each other. So if you get a warranty at one location it may or may not apply to other locations. Do research before you give these companies your valued time and money. Don't count Toyota out but they need to give better service to their customers vehicle not their financial spreadsheets. Hire less people to stand outside and put more focus into lowering service cost and really serving customers to become clients. Toyota Owners matter too!!!
