I bought a supposed "certified" truck form Tempe Kia. The oil was at 1% good and my mechanic said there was a possible leak at the rear main seal. I would never ever recommend Tempe Kia to anyone. At the beginning it was fine. Although our sales person continued to take cell phone calls, text and smoke the entire time. We were looking for a more economic car, better gas mileage etc. We had both of our cars paid off and thought it wouldn't hurt to upgrade. after driving for a grand total of 3 minutes, I was back on the lot and he asked what I thought. Over all I liked the car but had questions because I didn't get too much time in the vehicle. I checked with our sales person to make sure we had cruise control he assured us we did, and we have it in writing signed by the person who did the final inspection of the vehicle, and they said that signed document didn't mean anything because I had a paper with the specs. Needless to say I found out the very next day (after purchasing the vehicle) there was no cruise control. I called them and told them this is not okay, they should work with me and figure this out. They turned into rude awful people. They say they are a family owned local business that wants returning and happy customers. Well if that is the owners goal then they need to fire everyone and start over. I have never been treated so rudely. They offered us a year of oil changes. (Thanks but two oil changes at $15 a pop doesn't cover being lied to.) He then said he would give us $300, I again said I need you to do more. I drive 15 hours a week $300 is not going to fix my daily hassle of not having a feature that was supposed to be on the product you sold me. They refused to take calls at the dealership and would only return my calls from their cell phone, convenient they aren't recorded, and then they told me the GM wont offer me more than $200. really? So, apparently now, taking care of their customers is becoming less and less important. To make matters worse I am a full time student and getting student loans (as a nanny that isn't easy) and they sent my loan app into a half dozen or more banks and credit unions, this is after getting financed through them, and now my credit score looks awful. They then had the gall to tell me it wasn't easy to finance me and I would probably not get financed anywhere else... but I can return the car if I want. Awesome, right? I am so enraged with these people. The rude behavior and lack of honesty was repulsive and so unprofessional.I highly recommend going anywhere else but there. I did call KIA and filed a formal complaint against the dealership. read more

I informed " GIBI" of the unfortunate situation. He had " Big G" handle the paperwork and he was kind and efficient. This process is never easy with a special needs child. He sent me all the figures by email that we agreed on to save time. We walked in, no bait and switch, no up sale, just took care of of my daughter, was patient with my Granddaughter and did everything to correct the situation my daughter was in. Major bait and switch artists. Never get service there. They add 5 things you need to do and charge twice what other places do. They smile at you and act nicely, then stab you in the back as soon as they can. Claimed they knew nothing about a seat belt recall years ago so they wouldn't have to fix it. Also, my cruise control went out at 59,997 miles. They said it was under warranty and to bring it down. I live 12 miles away. Got there and they told me warranty was no good as I was over 60,000. Cheapo dirtbags! I literally had to threaten them with posting a 1 page ad in the Arizona Republic explaining exactly how they treated me. The best they would do is pay for the cruise control unit and I had to cover the installation. I even went through the national Kia offices and they refused to intervene. Not only avoiding this place like the plague, I will never ever buy a Kia again. read more

Stay away from this joke of a dealership!!! My daughters father bought a 2015 Kia Soul with 9000 miles on it on 6/27/16. He drove it off the lot at 10:00 p.m. At 4:30 p.m. 6/28/16 (less than 24 hours following the purchase) the car died in the middle of the road. He immediately contacted the dealership who referred him to the Kia hotline to coordinate towing the car to their service center. They informed him that he has to be with the vehicle. They initially gave him a wait time of 3 hours - so roughly 7:30. He was getting recorded messages from Kia regarding the tow trucks arrival time but the dealership didn't give the towing company all of the information needed so they didn't schedule it. Confused? Yeah so are we. Well the dealership gave the towing company incomplete information the first time then gave the wrong phone number when they attempted a second communication. Bottom line - tow truck NEVER SHOWED UP following multiple requests and communications!!?? Waited with the car (that he was told to stay with) until 11:30 pm and they never came to tow it to the service center. So it's now sitting in a parking lot. The dealership also informed him that since the service center was closed a loaner car or rental would not be available for him to drive so he's missing work tomorrow. Now let's remember the service center was open when he made the initial call. The fact that this dealership allowed a new customer to be stranded in the dangerous Phx heat in the middle of the day in a broken down car they sold less than 24 hours prior to the breakdown is disturbing at best. It borders on inhumane. People were stopping to give water and finally enough people stopped to help him push the car to a nearby parking lot where it sits now. It was 113 degrees. Amazing. Thanks for nothing Kia Tempe. Go down the road to Toyota or Honda if you wanna a good car and decent customer service. These guys are a joke. read more

I've had my kia serviced at other kia places and have less than satisfactory experiences. I'm so glad I came to the Tempe location. Paula was amazing right away, very upbeat and happy and greeted me with excitement. I came in for basic things and they found a bunch of recalls and also noted my car was still under warranty which covered repairs to many of my concerns. They explained everything along the way and moved quickly to get the stuff done in a short amount of time before they closed. I was considering purchasing a different vehicle but based on the great experience I had today I will 100 percent be looking into replacing my current kia with a new kia. 10/10, 5 stars. read more

Interesting story about Tempe Kia. On Saturday, October 28 at approximately 9 AM, I called Tempe Kia and ask to speak with someone in the fleet department. I received a voice message and left a message for a gentleman ( I won't mention his name) to call me back. I indicated to him that we had just sold our car and was looking to purchase a Kia today. I never received a call back. I called Tempe Kia again about two hours later and no one ever answered the phone at all. So my wife and I got in my truck and went to Horne Kia in Gilbert and purchased a Kia Sportage LE. Two days later, I thought the general sales manager might be interested to hear that they lost a sale because 1) they didn't return a phone call and 2) they didn't answer the phone at all.I left a voice message for the general sales manager. 30 hours later she hasn't returned my call either. I guess Tempe Kia is really not interested in selling cars and serving their customers! I would highly recommend Horne Kia. They were phenomenal in every way during our car purchase. read more

We were in the market for a new(er) car and had been casually surfing the net for a few months when we came across a Tempe Kia listing for a certified pre-owned K900. I sent in a submission for an internet price quote, but since it was after 9pm, realized an answer wouldn't come before the next morning, Sunday. My husband was actually out of town, but during our Skype discussion about the car, we decided I would visit the dealer to take a very serious look - the internet listed price seemed a good deal. Armed with the pertinent details (dealer stock #, VIN #, advertised mileage, advertised price, etc.) I showed up ~15 minutes after they opened on Sunday and was greeted (not stalked, not accosted) by Jim Iwami. When he asked if I was looking for something in particular I gave him the note and said I only wanted to look at that vehicle. He took a look and then excused himself saying he would be right back. Within 4-5 minutes he returned and explained that the vehicle was so recently theirs, it was in the shop, not quite ready for viewing/test driving. We went out to the lot and Jim showed me a brand new K900 with the same color scheme so I could at least see one close up and personal, and go through the interior goodies. There was NO PUSH to purchase anything in place of what we wanted. NO BAIT & SWITCH attempt. Afterward we went back inside I spoke with both Jim and Nick Dembicky (sales manager) about the car I came to see. They explained the car would be ready Monday afternoon, but my husband was returning from overseas on Monday afternoon. I said again that we were very serious about purchasing the car, and though I understood they were in business to sell, I didn't want them to sell the vehicle out from under us. I offered to put down some earnest money for them to hold the car, but they said that would not be necessary. We settled on Wednesday afternoon as convenient for all of us. I also mentioned that I had submitted an request for special online pricing. Wednesday came, the test drive was great, and my husband and I sat down to discuss the final details. They honored the offer of a special internet price, we accepted and sat down with the finance gentleman. (apologies to him - cannot remember his name) Again NO PUSH for add-ons. Took care of the paperwork requirements and we drove home, me in the K900 and my husband in our Crossfire. The entire experience was smooth, everyone who spoke with us was friendly and respectful, and it's the only stress-free car-buying trip I've ever had. WE went to Tempe Kia to day to look at a Sorento SUV. Drove the car liked it and was serious about buying it UNTEL they or KIA wanted to charge us $250 because we wanted to pay cash and not finance it!!!! WHAT?? They would have kept the fee in the cost of the car if we had not protested, then we were told it was KIA not the dealership doing it. Really?? Plus they went over the figures with us and we kept telling them the figures don't add up. So salesman said " Let me write it out for you" Well he came up with $1,000 difference too and said, "I don't know what is wrong here either" The dealership said they would pay the $250. No Thank you, we will give you $500, No Thank you. We well give you $1,000 NO THANK YOU. It is not about the money at this point, it is about loosing all trust and respect for this dealership. They are doing a dirty business from a director to managers. I was negotiating via email. The sales director (Mike Breyfogle) lured me with a dirty bait (cheap OTD price) then I wasted 3 hrs before realizing that it is a shit. They just told me it is just a simple mistake. Even Mike did not showed up and did not apolozied to me. I felt I was in a group of scam. Be careful. One of their mechanism is to make customers wait on the seat for more than 20 min. They are killing time somewhere. Don't wait. Just ask any person around you to call the manager. I have met a relatively honest manager in the Rodeo Kia. Yesterday, I have got a good deal with their general manager. But, when i contacted again, a manager was not sure about that. If they change mind, I am going to the Carmax. I met with Tim, Ricardo and Chuck yesterday. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finalize a lease (through no fault of their own). Chuck, the manager I believe, was an incredibly fair man who was willing to work with us to get to a price that would work. Tim and Ricardo, the salesmen, were fantastic. They were very helpful and knowledgeable and did everything they could to make our experience as smooth as possible. We had had a bad experience earlier at another dealership in the valley and these guys totally turned our experience around. So I've only ever worked with the service department and part / tech personnel: based on that, they are absolutely outstanding. Never have had an issue with any warranty work, or regular services, anything with out car. They always take care of the issues, communicate the whole process, ask for permission before just charging away at repairs. They also are very clear when I drop the car off the timeline minimum for repairs and always ensure I get dropped back off with their shuttle or a Lyft in a super timely manner. The worst car shopping experience I've ever had. I've been looking at used Cadenzas for months and I found a great one at their dealership. The process started out smoothly enough. The car was great and the salesmen was helpful. Then things started getting weird. I had gone to a different dealership and almost bought another Cadenza. They were able to offer me a deal with zero down for almost the same price. Here they told me they would need at least $2,500 down to even try because I had negative equity in my current vehicle. I was taken aback, but I really wanted this car. Fine, I agreed to put $2,500 down. I wanted to show the car to my fiance though but they said I couldn't take it for an extended test drive for the evening. We live pretty far. I only went here because they had the car I wanted. Again the last Kia dealership I went to offered it to me before I could even ask. Okay, fine. So we came back the next day, put down a deposit and waited to get into finance to sign the final papers. This is where things got worse. We were told it would be ~30 mins. An hour into waiting, I hear a guy flipping out on the other side of the dealership about being there all day. About 20 mins later, another guy is yelling. This should have been a red flag but I thought maybe they were just rude people. Around this time the salesmen helping us comes over and says they are having trouble finding a bank to "take my deal." I have good credit and was putting a good sum down. This is where my stomach started to churn. About 50 mins after that they finally tell me "good news". What a joke that ended up being. He sits me down and tells me they found one bank. I look at the price and it's the original price they gave me when we started the deal. What a coincidence! Top that off with the interest rate they got me was over 8%. Are you kidding me? I tell him to take a hike and I want my deposit back. The deposit we made on my fiance's card who had gone home at this point because of how long the wait was and the manager tells me she needs to come back with the card. Again, what? The manager was extremely rude and unhelpful at this point. I told him I know you don't need a card to give a refund. He said I could wait for the finance guy to finish a deal and talk to him. Wow, thanks! I eventually see the finance guy who then tells me they didn't even get a quote back from the main bank I asked them to see about. A bank I already had an offer to refinance with, so I know the interest rate should have been lower. He said I could wait until tomorrow. What? First off they didn't even tell me this initially, but now I can wait until the next day? This was obviously some scam they use to screw people over and try to convince them they can't get a better rate. I think they knew how much I liked the car (my fault for showing that I guess) and hoped that after spending nearly my entire Saturday evening there I would just bite the bullet and take their awful offer. Considering the two guys who flipped out before me, I can only conclude I wasn't a special case. So if you are at the dealership and find yourself sitting in the waiting area for an hour or more while they "struggle to find a deal" be aware this is more than likely them pulling the same scam. This entire experience has put me off not only this dealership but Kia as a whole. It was so frustrating and maddening I don't even want to touch a Kia again. read more

We already purchased from another dealer .. your Manager Chuck lost our business on Wednesday .. he seemed irritated and impatient.. didn't educate the consumer in anyway. I wanted to get the Kia Sorento EX model that was SWP with stone beige interior and asked if he would give me that model for 31K .. his reply was " why should I pay for the paint" .. he wouldn't budge and we left and went to Camelback Kia .. he lost the deal for $395 .. the communication was fair at best starting with 1st encounter with Wil Parker when we test drive on Saturday.. he never said he was going on vacation And wouldn't be available..I emailed him that night and then the next morning.. he never responded.. we went in on Wednesday and were set up with Chuck .. to be honest we would have negotiated but he was seemingly upset that we had dare ask for what we wanted .. in the text chain one of the internet care customer Nury asked if I had a pricing sheet to bring with so they could see what the other dealer offered .. I'm shocked that when we then asked for the pricing sheet Chuck prepared he replied " you can't have it it's an internal document.. funny you ask the customer for something that your business refuses to supply. I'm so disgusted with your business and will gladly spread the word to all of my colleagues.. we had an amazing experience at Camelback Kia and to boot we got an amazing deal which included the SWP with stone beige interior for what initially you said you could provide .. which you were never able. I'm forwarding this information to your bosses boss just to inform them you lost a car sale because your employees clearly don't care about the customer.. they only care about the bottom line. read more

The staff here are among the most professional individuals I've ever dealt with while buying a car. Ron, my salesperson, was hands down the best salesman I've ever had the pleasure to work with. And he was TRULY a pleasure, which sounds insane when you consider I was buying a car. I had my daughter with me and the entire staff treated us like family - and I may be crazy again, but I got the feeling they would have treated us this way whether I bought a car or not. They avoided playing the ridiculous pricing games other dealers play, and despite of how easy it was, I'm 100% sure I got the best deal possible on the 2020 Kia Soul I bought. Wow!! What a difference in experiences. We purchased a used car from Carl at Tempe Kia with help from Joe in the finance department two days ago and I am still recovering. Our experience strung out for six L-O-N-G hours after we knew which car we wanted to purchase and made an offer. The dealership did not appear busy and many employees seemed idle. The only reason I can see for stringing us out so long was to beat us down so by the time we got back to Joe in the finance department, hungry, restless, bored and feeling trapped - the numbers on the contract not matching the deal we had agreed to seemed insignificant to how we felt. We signed quickly irregardless of the increased expense - anything to get out of that dealership and end the ordeal. Little did we know, even after we signed everything, we had another hour to wait for our car to be prepped! What does that mean? I think it meant remove the sticker from the front window because the car was not cleaned, the gas tank was not topped off, the protective plastic on the floors was not removed, the temporary license plate was not affixed.... In retrospect, I wish I had reattached the license plates on my trade in (that the dealer had removed) and driven away - much earlier in the day! Needless to say, I never want to repeat that experience. Nor would I recommend it to friend or foe! If you are brave enough to try your luck here, make sure you have a lot of stamina and bring food! Maybe I'm getting old because I haven't even been able to bring myself to drive the car since that day. Everytime I look at it, I remember how bad I felt while waiting all that time - PTSD from car buying???? read more

If I could give less than one star I would! My fiancé and I went to Kia on Friday and our sales person (Jim) was horrible. My fiancé was very adamant that the car we wanted would have light exterior paint and would have the solid black interior. Our sales person kept showing us cars that had the two-tone interior. He finally showed us a car with the interior color we wanted, but the car was incorrect exterior color. After we told him there was no way we would purchase that car, he had his manager come and talk to us. My fiancé told him the exact specifications he wanted and we were told that we could get that car, but they would need to bring it in from a different dealership. We asked if the car would have auto headlights and we were told by both salesmen that it would be on the car. They told us that they would call us in the morning with the time the car would be at the dealership. We went the next day to finish buying the car, we took a test drive and we liked the car. We went to financing and purchased the car. After we got out of the finance area, Jim was there to help us learn more about the car. As he was showing us how to work the headlights, my fiancé said we would just leave the headlights on 'Auto'. Surprise to us, auto headlights were not an option on the car we just purchased. My fiancé was getting upset about it and he was trying to discuss it was Jim, but Jim kept ignoring him and was trying to set up the blue-tooth sync. And to be frank, I could have done a better job of programming my car than Jim. After 5 minutes, we finally got the car set up, and my fiancé asked Jim, if we were going to discuss the fact that the car did not have auto headlights like we were told the previous day. We spoke to Scott (who was extremely helpful) and he was able to calm my fiancé down. Before we left, I asked for my second set of keys for the car, and Jim told me that they were in the packet that was in the car. I told him that I did not see any keys earlier and as it turns out the keys were not in the packet. The dealership was looking for the keys for over 30 minutes. During this entire time, not a single manager came out to talk to us about it. I called Bill (Customer Relations Manager) and he said he would contact John (manager) to come out and talk to us, but no one came. They finally found my key, it had fallen out in the finance waiting room and was stuck in a chair. Jim kept making excuses as to why it fell out. Frankly I was ready to leave. Car buying is supposed to be an exciting time, but Tempe Kia managed to turn our excitement to disappointment and frustration within 45 minutes. I would also like to say that I think it's shameful that the sales people have customers do a "review" on them before you even go to financing. You can't rate the entire experience this way. It's very awkward for the customer and both my fiancé and I didn't really didn't want to write anything, but felt obligated. I would never suggest anyone come here if they could avoid it. It's full of people who don't care about you as a customer at all! read more

Just an update. Sales team: awesome. We had the numbers ready to go and nothing changed when we got to the finance team. Finance department: less than stellar. We had a loan already lined up. We knew how much per month. We were offered an extended warranty and gap plan for $8-$10 per month. We get to the final numbers... it jumped our payment $60 per month!! Please pay attention to the creative (deceptive?) math they are using in the finance department. I can't stress this enough. If they are offering you a $3500 warranty and $1000 insurance plan for $10 a month, don't just sign on the dotted line! Make sure you understand that it's really not $8-$10 per month! In our experience, they were applying the manufacturer's rebate towards the warranty instead of the car, that way they could claim $8 a month...note: you are now paying more for your car because the rebate is being used for the warranty instead of applying it to the car purchase. He even bought me a Diet Coke while I was waiting. That in itself is worth five stars in my book, ha. Finally I got the Kia consumer affairs involved and took my car to Horn Kia. They found that the car was over a degree out of alignment. This car did not have a simple adjustment to fix this so Tempe Kia just lied and told me that there was nothing wrong with the car. Horn worked with Kia to get it fixed and now the car drives straight. Don't waist your time with Tempe Kia, go to Horn Kia in Gilbert. read more

Do not buy a car here. First of all they offer you a "deal" to give them a 5 star rating, the salesman and finance guy! They completely ripped my husband off, the only good I have to say about this place is about Patti. She is a sweet lady and took time out of her day to speak to me about a situation she had nothing to do with! These people manipulate and prey on buyers. My husband told finance he only wanted gap insurance and that was all! Of course finance said he would throw in a service warranty and keep his payments the same, WITHOUT explaining this would extend his loan and increase tAPR!!! I would never give this place my business and I am SO disappointed my husband did. I can only imagine how many poor people they take advantage of- check the reviews! Another thing, my husband left some cash under his mat of the car he traded in, the sales man told him he was welcome to come back and get it when he got back from his vacation after the holiday, knowing my husband lives out of the way! What kind of customer service is that, after someone just dropped 50k? Ever heard of Venmo, Apple Pay, etc? Run from this place, and always always read your contracts! It has now been a total of 6 business days(not including thanksgiving) and the trade in loan has NOT been paid! I went to Kia Tempe to get my oil changed and spoke with a sales rep that I had met at Mark Kia when I purchased my 2015 Kia Soul (he was not my sales rep at that time, although he tried and was told I was being taken care of). Come to find out later, he's the number one car salesman in Arizona for his charm and tactics. He hangs out by the service area on purpose to snag unsuspecting customers. He remembered me, made small talk and then proceeded to tell me that I got screwed by Mark Kia and paid way too much for my vehicle. Long story short, by the time I left, I was driving home a 2017 Kia Soul for $125 more a month and for the extended warranty of $2,500, better known as the hidden service contract fee, which the finance guy never told me about. He only explained the GAP insurance to me. Yes, I was charmed, had, and taken advantage of, but I take 100% of the blame for thinking that this was a good deal and that they actually cared enough to want the best for me. I really thought I was smarter than that. Come to find out, Mark Kia was completely honest with me, no hidden fees, no sales pressure and everyone there is and was extremely friendly. I went back to Kia Tempe only an hour later and spoke with one of the general managers in an attempt to get my 2015 Kia back, but business is business, it's cut throat and no one was willing to help me or gave a damn. Since Saturday, I've been emailing and calling to have someone from Kia Tempe call me so I can get the paperwork I need to cancel the extended warranty. No such luck. Looks like I'll be paying them another visit; one that I do not look forward to making. read more

The service department really helped me out when I had a problem with my battery and power steering hose on my 2012 Kia Sorento. The shuttle service was fast and helpful. read more

I have bought several vehicles from various dealerships and my experience with Tempe Kia was the best of them all. No trying to get me to buy a car I couldn't afford. Will definitely consider them again when it comes time to buy another car. read more
