First time here and first time eating at a spot in Blue Island…read more Went here to celebrate a birthday The place is a cool size, nice and quaint. I think it was a bit dark inside but it was cute. Love the maps on the walls. The concept is cool to have different food items from over the globe. Loved that! I had the shrimp bao thrn I ordered the chicken bao. Both were amazing! Thank you Deja, our waiter for the recommendation. My friends had the steak frites and the steak was delicious! Moist for sure. I didn't try the wings but she said they were good. Looking forward to going back for brunch!

The service was second to none (thank you Deja), but the restaurant is sterile, cold and the music selection is a radio station the staff apparently likes and played way too loud during a morning brunch. This seems like a prep spot for her catering venture and not a five star dining establishment. In fact, there is NOTHING 5-Star about this dining experience. Even the website demonstrates that her focus is on catering large events--evidenced by the catering menus being featured and not the dining menus. As for the food, it was good, but nothing was exceptional. We shared the "Exotic Fruit & Berry Mosaic Board" -- a medley of delicious fresh fruit. My wife had the "Brioche French Toast" - French toast, eggs and choice of meat: (Pork Bacon, Turkey Bacon, Veggie Sausage, Chicken & Apple Sausage, Turkey Sausage). My son tried the Belgian waffles with bourbon maple syrup, eggs and sausage as the "choice of meat." I ordered a simple Belgian Waffle and was going to eat my wife's eggs and sausage since she hadn't eaten them. (Hmmmm????) I understand why she passed. The eggs were bland and the sausage links had an awful aftertaste. With all due respect, if you're not going to season the eggs, PLEASE put salt and pepper on the tables. $115 seemed ridiculously high for the quality of the food and no alcohol--and I've paid twice as much with no complaints at Virtue, Asciones etc. It breaks my heart to have not really enjoyed Easter Brunch at Edible Passport, but it felt like a bit of a dive, not a fine dining experience.

Since it was my first time here and me being new to the menu the host was absolutely welcoming and provided me with recommendations, including their specials of the day. We tried the Triple Barrel which was your choice of three meats and two sides, and we opted in for the ribs, brisket, pulled pork corn on the cob and the mac & cheese. We also selected the special of the day which on Thursday nights it's rib tips and a side and because we were so curious we also ordered the chicken dinner which included a side. All the barbecue was tender, juicy and had an excellent smoky flavor. As for the sides the star of the show was the collar greens they were slap your mama delicious, but the baked potato I couldn't eat it tasted old. You order your food at the counter they give you a ticket to put at your table, and then your food is brought to you . They have a full bar in the back with additional seating. This is a pretty good place to eat it's clean and you don't have to spend a lot of money to enjoy a great plate of smoky barbecue . I've added this place to my rotation.

We also really enjoyed the ribs, but we did not like the pulled chicken. The Mac and cheese is a little sweeter than regular Mac and cheese, but I still liked it. The people working we're very friendly, the restaurant was clean, my only complaint would be the brisket and pulled chicken were both cold for some reason.
