5.17.25 Hubby and I came to celebrate a friend's birthday, with a group of friends, and watch Preakness at the bar. I ordered the reuben (substituted sauerkraut with coleslaw) and funnel cake fries. Both were a solid 5. They were both phenomenal! I couldn't stop raving about them. The reuben is likely the best I've ever had anywhere. Also our server, Lauren, was amazing! She was friendly and attentive, checking on us frequently to see if we needed anything. Told hubby when we go to our friend's house nearby we will need to drop by again. Love the food!! read more

My 1st review in Glenelg ever! Continuing with last year of each month without a Yelp review onto March going back to March 2016. It was Thursday, March 17, 2016 (St. Patrick's Day). I was in my office that day in Columbia & had close work travel that afternoon to Ellicott City. Rather than make the long commute back to my home at the time Arlington, VA, I sometimes did things after work like go to Meetup group or other activities to avoid traffic. On this day, I had a date. She lived in Carroll County like Sykesville or Eldersburg. I had met her at a Meetup group, got her #, and got a date set up. She wanted to enjoy St. Patty's Day at Ten Oaks Tavern. It was a cool place, had some green beer, and it was a good date overall although it was a bit crowded and noisy, but it was St. Patty's Day. Staff was nice as I recall. Afterward, made the long drive back home and late a late bite at like Wendy's close to home at like 11 o'clock at night as I might've had a big and/or late lunch that day. Perhaps, we split an appetizer, but there wasn't any seating, we were standing the whole time some of which at the bar, would've been tough to eat here. Coming here for the apps is just as good as their other dishes. The Ten Oak Taters is where it's at. Chopped potatoes, bacon, cheese and ranch dressing. Share it with at least two. Their crab dip is also legit. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is quaint. Worth the drive to this little gem! read more

Excellent service from Garrett, who brought me some BBQ sauce to taste to make sure I had ordered something I would like. Lemon Blueberry cake was already sold out---you have to get here early for the fabulous desserts! Tuesday special is half rack of ribs with two sides. I tried house made chips and cole slaw. Very filling meal for $13! Very accessible for people with mobility issues. Easy parking. Music not too loud and included The Clash and Eric Clapton during my stay. I'm used to quesadillas being a bit neater and, well, less smothered in cheese and grease. White cake w/ champagne cream - good cake but probably wont repeat. I've always passed by and finally decided to come in. Thought it was a lot larger what it actually is inside but it's quaint and homey. But nothing homey about the lack of heat. Feel bad for the employees who are in hats and gloves. Not sure why they don't have heat in January after a snow storm. And the staff is all female which is interesting. Everyone was friendly but gossipy about the other employees which is fun entertainment for bar guests. Though it was cold my tavern club was delicious and their fries are well salted and thin like I like! The turkey was meaty and sexy with the perfect amount of Mayo! Solid place for a good sandwich. I came here with a friend for lunch and we were seated and greeted immediately. It's right near my friends work and he said they come pretty frequently and it's a popular place. I went with the French dip sandwich and it was pretty good! The fries it came with were perfectly crispy. Everything was very fairly priced as well, my French dip sandwich was only $10 with a slight up charge for fries (worth it.) My father and I visited here for a lunch after a Morning hunt on Saturday 2/18/23. This is a pretty part of Maryland. The place is small, but it's cozy and surpassingly not loud. Although it didn't look like a loud crowd. I would guess there was seating for 80-100?? A few tvs. My father's Southern Comfort Old Fashions were very good and the cherries were bandy soaked. The bartender was a busy guy and taking care of everyone. I had the white bean chicken chili which was delicious. My father's MD crab soup was good. We eat a lot of soup...These were def good. We split the Ruben which was thick sliced corned beef. There was a spread of something added to the sandwich or the thousand island dressing was extra creamy that really did it well and complimented the taste. The beer was cold. We stumbled upon this neighborhood bar and grill after being turned away at hot air balloon festival due to capacity. So we switched motives and looked for a good spot to grab a brew and dinner. So I reached out to my Yelp fam and we decided on this place. We were seated immediately and our server was great, very attentive but not over baring. I started with a pretty good ipa. The cream of crab soup was very good. I got the beef short rib, the bbq sauce was a lil thick was it was good so it was cool, but the ribs were very tender. Would definitely order again. We finished the meal with some delicious funnel cake fries, I'm not much of a dessert guy but this may be at the top of list as far as dessert goes. Food came out. I ordered the salmon grilled which was fine but the rice was refrigerator cold. I asked our waiter to heat it up she was very apologetic. Only issue was they never brought it back out. My daughters had finished their dinner and mine was still in the kitchen. I asked for the bill, told the waiter that my food never return, she took the salmon off my bill. Still have her 18% tip because I'm nice. But won't be returning back. read more

I have been going here for lunch and dinner for many years. Service and food is always decent, and despite the small space they seem to make the most of it and have a solid customer base. My husband and I went for a late afternoon snack back in July and sat at the bar. Sam took care of us and was pleasant and friendly. Our food was good-nothing crazy just wings, vegetable of the day, and a burger. I ordered milder things as I had been having food aversions during the first part of my pregnancy. I really wanted to love this place based on all of the great reviews. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage, one of their specialties and One of my faves! The meat was so dry it was hard to even swallow. Cabbage great, potatoes great, but the star was sad. Dry slabs of meat. The rye bread that came with it was stale, as well. My husband loved the meatloaf and crm of crab soup. Service was excellent! Loved the ambiance! May try again, but skeptical. read more

I have been gotten food to go from here a few times now and even though i have not had a "sit in meal", I can still say the food at this restaurant is really good. I have had their "chicken crisfield" and it is great! It is two very generous pieces of chicken breast topped with crab meat, and it also comes with two side. The chicken and crab meat are both really fresh and taste great. For sides, I have gotten their fries which are really good, the mashed potatoes which i didn't like because there was too much butter in them, the mac n cheese which is just okay, and also the Caesar salad which is really good! I have also tried their calamari, and its really fresh and the jalapenos that come mixed with it give it a nice spicy kick. I will definitely be dining in here soon and leaving an updated review on how their service is as well but as far as the food goes, I'm a fan! read more

I had been to MD's Country Pub a few times and I liked the laid back feel and simple food. I was surprised when I came back another day and the ownership had changed. They renamed it (Ten Oaks Tavern) and it seems like they made a lot of improvements inside. I'm not sure exactly what changes they made but the place feels different, it seems to be decorated different and maybe painted. Not that it was bad before, but the improvements are nice. The menu has also changed it seems more upscale now and definitely more pricey. I have only tried 2 things on the menu and I thought both were great. The fried shrimp are humongous! The biggest I have ever seen. They are battered and fried perfectly. The cream of crab soup is rich, creamy, and delicious. The first time I got it I was pleased with the amount of crab meat chunks. I came back a second time and I thought it seemed to have less crab and it was more small, stringy pieces. Still a decent amount of crab, but not as much as the first time. A bowl is a generous serving, enough for a meal for me. The waitresses here are really attentive and friendly. There's not a whole lot of places to eat around this area, so it's nice to know of a good spot nearby (that's not a chain!) with high quality food. I will keep coming back here for sure, now I'm just prepared to spend more money than I had to when it was MD's Country Pub. read more

Said happy hour prices only apply at bar. NO WHERE on the site or in person is that mentioned. The menu is not accurate and false info needs to be removed. Piss poor management. They should have corrected the bill as there is false advertising going on. read more
