Great little inexpensive sit-down grill in a gas station We often stop here for lunch or even breakfast. It's a sit-down grill seating around 25 in the back of the store at a gas station, making some good bbq and sandwiches and more! This day (Sep 2025) we were on the way towards Baltimore after a day in Mt. Airy, and we just wanted a relaxing inexpensive meal without any fuss. There's enough parking out front, though it can be a little tight. You just walk into the storefront and head to the back to order. Folks are always friendly. You serve your own beverages while you wait. The food comes out hot and in generous servings. We had a $10 "pit beef" and chose it with gravy on a soft bun, which made it a kind of bbq sandwich, richly flavored hearty thick gravy over a generous serving of thick beef slices. It was mostly melt-in-your mouth tender. A few pieces could have been trimmed better, but the favor could not gave been more delightfully savory. We had an entirely tender $10 rueben on toast, perfect flavoring, perfectly thin-sliced. We had a really over-stuffed $10 BLT with perfectly crisped thin bacon. And we had a fresh bright $10 chicken salad on toast with lettuce and sliced tomato. For $3 more each, we had zig-zag fries accompanying a couple of these, and they gave us an additional side. They were so generous we never ran out! Piping hot and lightly crispy. Of course sodas and teas, too. My cheesesteak had wonderful flavor and it was a great portion for the money. My husband felt the same about his Ruben and twice showed me all the meat in his sandwich. 5 stars for quality and quantity! I'm taking a star due to the poor job they did wrapping our to go order. And this is the second order with the same issue, last time I thought maybe it was a new employee. Why do you wrap with the absorbent side of the foil on the outside?! And wrap so loosely too. Why are you even paying for lined foil wraps if you're not going to use it? Both of the sandwiches leaked and ripped through the bag and left a greasy spot on my car mat. This is one of those hidden local gems, if you are not local or no local tells you , you probably will never give it a try or even know it exists. This grill is inside a gas station. With a fairly large menu selections. You can order online, and choose pick up time. however if you like to choose more than 1 flavors for your 32-piece pack wings, you still need to call them to do so. We have tried some of their burgers, rib sandwich, meat by the pound, coleslaw, sweet potato fries, and wings. So far, everything was delicious. Perfect type of foods for a game day or whenever you don't feel like cooking. They come in decent portion size, great for family style sharing, and price is reasonable. Great little gas station restaurant open for breakfast lunch and dinner indoor and outdoor seating menu varies from pit beef to biscuits and gravy to pancakes and street tacos and everything in between. They do deliveries and pick ups and are just off Route 70 on 144. They are also connected to the chill shack which makes custom milkshakes out of real ice cream. I wouldn't have found this place without Yelp. It's literally a little restaurant in a convenience store. We stopped in for breakfast. Service was great, and food came out quick. Everyone in our group enjoyed their food. We had the breakfast tacos, the sausage gravy platter, and the western omelet. All very very tasty and the portions are generous. So we went strawberry picking at Larriland and got hungry. This was the first suggestion that came up for food nearby. Don't let the location fool you, this is a real hole-in-the-wall gem. The food was awesome, the portions were humongous. The place is a small corner INSIDE a gas station convenience store (Carroll Mart). Prices are reasonable. When we first moved to this area three years ago, we fell absolutely in love with The Grill! Yes, it is next to/attached to a gas station and is a little bit off putting from the outside but the food is SO good and everyone is always so nice! Buuuuuut - I used to always order the chicken tacos, but they changed the way that they made them and also stopped giving the sauce that came with them. It's mostly just onions now. My husband and I both also loved the Greek salad and it's huge serving was enough to last us for at least two meals each. We ordered from them on Friday and the Greek salad is now about a third of the size that it used to be but at the same price. It's still delicious and we love everyone that works there but it's disappointing that they are starting to change the way that they make some of their items. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Went in to order tonight at about 6 and the lady behind the grill ignored us for a good chunk of time, told someone in the back who never appeared to take our order and then rudely took our order (acting aggravated the entire time). We took the order to go and when we got to the pool, opened the box to find a huge spot of mold right on top of the cheeseburger sub. Did she miss this??? The spot of mold is directly on top. You can't miss it. I went back on our way home (the grill was closed) and the guy working the register seemed shocked but couldn't give me a refund or a new piece of bread (said he couldn't access the grill) and wrote my name on a small sliver of paper. He told me next time I was in, I could get something for free. We won't be going back. It would have been nice to get my money back (11.99). Guys. This place is legit. I was in the area with a hungry belly and needed to eat something soon but was not expecting anything impressive out in the rural area. Boy, was I surprised. This little gem is inside of a gas station but has full stand alone restaurant quality food. This place is easily better than many restaurants I've been to in big cities. Spent most of my life in Texas and wanted some street tacos - it was a different version but sure hit the spot!! And so did their speciality Chicken Tortilla soup!! Incredible flavor, quality shredded chicken with some legit chicken skin thrown in there for a nice surprise. Nice big chunks of crab in their Cream of Crab Soup...and even a very tiny piece of shell, which I do not mind because it indicates the crab was from a fresh source. Try the bread pudding for sure. If you're ever remotely even close to this area, STOP BY! You can order take out and eat outside at the numerous picnic tables or eat inside where there are a few tables inside appropriately distanced from each other. We will definitely come back the next time we area headed in the general area and will be sure to indulge in the highly reviewed burgers, BBQ and milkshakes. This place is amazing! First - the chicken tacos. Omg they are awesome. They make them just the way I like - onion and fresh cilantro with a side of incredible verde salsa. Hands down my favorite in the area. They have a nice assortment of other really good food too. But above that, they are super awesome people. And they deliver for free! DoorDash messed up my order with them so I called and the man was incredibly nice and so apologetic. He brought me the right order himself within 25 min and even added a free pina-colada milkshake which was the best milkshake I think I've ever had. It even had a ring of pineapple in it! This is a gas station, plain and simple. While paying for your drink, you smell some food so you investigate. Turns out that they have a flat top. Then you notice that out front there is a competition smoker in the parking lot. You investigate further.. guy at table annihilating a pulled pork the size of a baby. He is grinning through the whole thing. Now I've had the philly ( nothing special ) I've had the tuna sandwich ( fresh but standard ) and I've had the bbq. I'm sure that everything there is frozen with the exception of the BBQ. That's why there is 40 people waiting in line after church on Sunday. The brisket is moist and has good smoke, the ribs are over cooked and fall off the bone but tasty! The pulled pork is legit, as is the burnt ends. Swing by and fill up your tank and grab a pulled pork to go and a drink, it'll make you grin too. read more

This little place in the back of a gas station deserves to have its own spot. To be honest, I'm just snooty enough to not give any thoughts to eating in a gas station. But I was stuck once with my 10-year-old grandson so we had breakfast there and it was amazing. The cooks are really good, the food is good quality, and they are so super friendly and caring. And the prices aren't ridiculous like most every other place, from fast food restaurants to fancy restaurants; prices are just ridiculously out of control. So this was nice to not break the bank just for a decent breakfast! We are regulars now so this was a great find. read more
