The manager has been changed back to someone who was manger here years ago, when things were much better, and service response time seemed to be getting better, but complaints are still being made. I will not give more than one star until the time has proven everything is substantially improving. The residents have recently been informed of moving to a new resident portal, when that happens, the notorious countless complaints posts posted by the residents may not be seen in the new portal, they may just be deleted. My hair stylist rents a room here. Her floor has private businesses like Hairstylists, Eyelash Extension Tech's, Massage Therapists to name a few. It's clean, modern, and I've never had a problem finding parking which is under the building. One side of the property looks out to some fields between Ten20 and the library and it's very picturesque. I've also tried the workout place Barre 3 in the building and it's a great workout. I think they also have apartments or condos here... hoe cool would it be to have a workout place in the same building as you live? read more

Providing an update to my original review upon moving out. Throughout our stay at Ten20 the leasing staff (specifically Nida and Alyssa) were extremely helpful. From taking care of water leakage issue promptly to providing alternate pay by phone option they were always there to help. This has been by far my best experience in living in an apartment community as the team here pays attention to the little things such as sending birthday cards, arranging temporary storage on request, providing extra garage fob etc. read more

I lived there for one year. The location is very convenient and the building is modern. That said, there are some things they need to work. Due to it being dog friendly, there are way too many incidents where dogs urinate on the floors and elevators. I stumbled upon this review while searching online for the phone number to call the concierge. The reviews are a little harsh, but maybe I'll experience the same when I try to move out and get charged with a bunch of craziness. As for now, my review is based on my residence here since May 2009 with my husband (almost two years). The building, views, furnishings are nice. The craftsmanship on some of the cabinetry could have been better as two panels have broken off. It was quickly fixed when I put in the work order. The management/corporate office has now changed to the company UDR. This company is a lot more organized than the previous Hanover company. Online reservations for amenities like the conference room, printing parking passes for guests, even have a message board for residents for communication. They are trying to make it a 21st century place to live and it's a nice touch. There is constant turn over of the concierge, which is annoying. The leasing office has been quick with my requests or questions. You end up learning who you should talk to and who gives you that dumb "huh" look. I have dogs and my husband and I are a little high maintenance at times, but we've never been given the answer "no" to any of our requests. The average times I've waited for a response that required high management to get back to me was about 5 days. One time it took a week and the leasing agent gave me warning that it would take a week as it was around holiday time. I would recommend those looking to rent in downtown Bellevue to take a look at Ten20. If I could give them 3.5 stars on this, I would, but they are working toward the four stars. I am not hired by Ten20 to do this review as you can tell by my other reviews- I either like something or I don't. read more

I am writing to commend everyone at the Ten20 Apartments for their outstanding professionalism, service, and the welcoming environment that all the staff works hard to convey. I have been living at Ten20 Apartments since last summer and could not be happier with my decision to move from Seattle to Bellevue - most specifically to Ten20. The location next to the library park is a wonderful green space; yet, within walking distance of everything Bellevue has to offer, restaurants, parks, and shopping. The apartment is spacious and more like a home than an apartment. Our manager, Mark, and the maintenance supervisor, Steve, and their staff's, always go above and beyond to make sure everything is meeting resident needs. Ten20 is an intimate, homey community. Been living at 1020 for quite a while and I am satisfied. I like the layout and the state of the apartment. So far UDR has played it straight with me. I live half way up on the north side and the view is quite nice, even though it seems every year a new light is installed somewhere to shine in my bedroom window. Maintaince has been quick and decisive with fixing any problems reported. It has had almost no problems with power, HVAC, and internet access, though it has had periodic problems with water over the time I've lived here. Delivery drivers sometimes have hard times delivering packages, though that says more about the delivery drivers than the apartment given the call box out front and the secure lockers in the parking area. read more

We have stayed in quite a few places in the eastside before relocating and buying a place in Seattle. Among them we have stayed at the Bravern and quite a few places in Kirkland. Among the luxury apartments I do have to say 1020 is among the best. I have read other reviews where some folks have had some bad experiences. All I can say is the staff and concierge are extremely nice. They go way out of their way to ensure that our stay was comfortable. We lived here ever since UDR took over managing the building and they have been great. the head concierge Felipe is awesome!! Their staff s quick at getting things fixed ( at the Bravern - they charged us for everything) whereas here things like a replacing a light bulb and fixing our dishwasher were done free of charge. Location wise they are a block away from Whole Foods, restaurants in DT Bellevue, a dog park right outside and a whole array of restaurants that is less than a 2 min drive. Apartments are nice and modern. One thing if I was picky - their vent runs all the time. It took us a week to get used to it but after that its just white noise. I have heard lower floors ( 4th and below) can hear traffic but we were on the 9th floor and never had that issue. I could easily give this place 5 stars but for the fact that their parking has had quite a few breakins. If they had cameras in their parking lots beyond just at points of entry I would say they were easily the best. read more

We moved here from the Bellevue suburbs and have loved it. Great community with top notch service - especially from Gery (Geralyn Haddow). She always greets you with a smile on her face and genuinely cares how your day goes. UDR is the management company, which manages several local high rises, and I've been impressed with the quality of their employees. Updating this review. During move out, the property showed some more true colors about instances of statements one way and then not honoring them due to the language of the paperwork. Policies changed without notifications. Beautiful place and I enjoy it while there for the most part, but buyer beware on all language of paperwork and don't trust what is stated outside of what's in writing and ensure EVERYTHING is properly stated even if they get sloppy with what they do. I lived at Ten20 for 4 years in a single-bedroom unit. I've just moved out after buying a home. The building is extremely well designed and built. Thoughtful floorplans, 2008 construction, top quality building materials, excellent sound insulation, hardwood floors, great lighting, and high-end appliances. I had a penthouse unit with tall ceilings. I also had a north view, which is beautiful -- no tall buildings in front, and evergreen trees as far as the eye can see. The Ten20 team is fantastic. On the rare occasions I needed something fixed, they got it done within a day (often the same day when I submitted the request early enough). Questions to the leasing office were answered promptly. I only have positive experiences to report. You might think that in 4 years of living at Ten20, someone would've forgotten a request or not executed it well, but that never happened. They are professional, friendly, knowledgeable and on top of things. The location is great. On the North edge of downtown Bellevue, which means walking distance access to downtown while being far from noise, crowds and traffic. Do not underestimate traffic if you're planning on living in the middle of downtown, or have to drive through downtown frequently. Building amenities are really nice. The gym is very clean, has everything I needed and was never crowded. Two computers and a laser printer are available. They have a guest room you can rent by the day for visiting guests. Very easy access to the 405 and 520 freeways. I had a great experience and will miss how easy and carefree it was living there. Recommended without hesitation. read more

I'll second Mia's complaint. I'm looking to relocate in the downtown Bellevue area, and ten 20 won't show apartments anytime after 5. They're also closed on weekends. What kind of leasing office isn't open on weekends when people have time to look at apartments? I've never heard of that. If UDR or whomever is in charge of these things is reading this - extend your hours! Or at least have a leasing agent there on Saturdays, please. Most of the world works Monday through Friday until 5 p.m. I was a little disappointed when I was also told that exceptions can't be made for appointments. Really? I lived at Ten20 for about a year and a half before moving to a sister property across the street for a 2-bedroom. Ten20 is beautiful - the finishes are lovely, and the high ceilings make a huge difference in the feel of the apartments. I had floor to ceiling windows and a HUGE walk-in closet. They initially had issues with the front desk staff turnover and quality, but about a year ago invested in some great full time people. Geralyn is my all-time favorite, she is so friendly and helpful that seeing her always brings a smile to my face! read more

We (as in our entire building) haven't had hot water or decent water pressure for the past 3 weeks... I haven't been able to shower at home, I have no idea if my dishes are being properly sanitized... and communication from management has been pathetic. We receive an email every few days saying they're "waiting on a part". Landlords are required to provide tenants with a living space that is safe, healthy, and livable. Hot water is a basic tenant need, and management is acting as if this is no big deal and is not sympathetic at all. Not to mention the apartments here are outdated and overpriced, don't expect anyone to ever be at the front desk as their offices are across the street at the more expensive, important and prestigious apartment The Asthon. Don't live here, find a newer building with an in house management team. read more

Before relocating for work I was recently a tenant at two different UDR properties. 17 months at Element Apartments and another 12 months at Ten20. I would like to compliment Joni Mitchell for her amazing patience and understanding. We were in contact throughout my lease and whenever I needed her assistance Joni would always come up with a helping solution to make things work. It's been almost a year. It's a great space size wise and aesthetic wise however the microwave sounds like a tractor and there's no storage. many of the amenities have never worked or rarely ever work, we haven't had hot water in over a week. Any issue that seems like it might be minor is treated like it's up to NASA to figure out. Everyone's so oblivious. My vehicle has been broken into twice in the secure garage, and I lost a thousand dollars of valuables inside. The staffs remark was "well we had security but nothing ever got stolen so we let them go" that's brilliant! what good business sense. Also we were first promised the rent was one price then when we arrived with all of our belongings in a U-Haul to move in and sign the lease The rent went up $300 and the girl acted like we were both crazy for thinking it was less then what she promised. We moved into this building after weeks of hoping and keeping everything crossed that can be crossed. It was totally worth it. We had checked out pretty much every apartment complex in Bellevue and there were only two choices that were appealing to us: Ashton and Ten20. Both very fine buildings, both have extremely friendly staff, everyone went out of their way to help us on every step of the way. It was worth the price for the Champagne when Russel Vidal, our really leasing agent, cannot praise him enough for his efforts, told us that a wonderful unit in the Ten20 became available. Floor to ceiling windows flood the apartment with natural light, the extra deep tub allows us to soak in style, Maytag appliances spoil us with peak performance. That was unless one acted up, but before I could do the same our concierges Robert and Christie promised immediate help. Immediate help knocked on our door and that's how we met William Strawn, the washer-whisperer. His whisper did not last long enough and he came back the next day with an awesome back-up: Sanel. Within minutes he decided that no renter should have to deal with something that does not work 100% and we got the washer AND dryer exchanged right away. How is that for service? What else is there to say? It's a dog friendly building and I mean friendly. My pup and I meet our first service guy in the building at around 6.30 am and there is not one morning he would not hug her and give her a kiss on her forehead. She loves him, she would put him in her will if a dog found such a nonsense as necessary. All neighbors, dog owners or not, have friendly words for every four legged fellow neighbors, all are very cool about my highly energetic girl, and contrary to other reviews I cannot say that I ever saw any puddles anywhere in the building nor can I confirm that the dog owners here would not care if an accident happened. That being said let's move on to the other conveniences Ten20 offers. There is the Starbucks coffee maker, a lifesaver for those who have small bladder puppies. There is a gym that I have never seen from the inside, as I have mentioned I own a bundle of energy and do my power walking several times a dog through the neighborhood. The Plus: I lost two pounds in one week, I found the most delicious coffee place, Café Cesura, open at the crack of dawn, open on Sundays, probably still open if the world as we know it came to an end. They are located in the Ashton building, across the street from the Ten20, you should check it out when in the neighborhood. They their toffees and weep as I do. I know the lost two pound will creep back up on me and they will be in good company with the several Lattes I pair them with, but you know what, life is short. Would be a shame if the end of the world knocked me off my feet and I had not have enjoyed both. When evening comes and I feel that I should let my Maytag appliances rest, when the Happy Hour hour whispers promises of price reduced delicacies into my ear, we head down to BarCode in the Ten20 building. Absolutely fabulous. Full bar and I am talking FULL bar, whiskey flights, Italian bitters that not every bar has which caters to the well traveled palette, not to mention their food items that leaves no hungry stomach growling. The portions are bathroom scale friendly, the quality is upscale, the ingredients brilliant and always with a little kick to keep them special and dang, I craving them again. The location of the Ten20 couldn't be a better one. Very central, very convenient whether one chooses to travel by car or on foot, two malls and a great movie theater easy to reach and in walking distance. Even a dentist is across the street, just in case, and if one feels he/she needs pampering after a filling there are several hair salons, nail salons, massage salons and who knows what else nearby. I'm not kidding, I saw them, I find my pampering, so far, in the above mentioned two buildings that are our sanctuary and offer everything we need, down to a convenient dry cleaning service. And now if you would please excuse me, I am craving some crab cakes and a glass of Averna Royal at BarCode, I will run over to Café Cesura for my goodnight toffee, and then I will wash off the day in my decadent tub. If you come over to check out both places, please say Hi to Russell and enjoy his cheerful personality. He is very knowledgeable about the buildings, the area, all sorts of things and really a joy to talk to. We sold our home in Kirkland in 2 days & the new owners wanted to take possession in 20 days. We were lucky to find this large 2 bedroom plus study apartment on the 19th floor at Ten20 with fantastic view of Mt Rainier, Bellevue, and Seattle. Our apartment is extremely quiet, and we feel like we are alone in our little world up here. We have lived here for 7 months and have grown very fond of all the staff, especially the concierges and the maintenance staff who are always so pleasant and helpful. We especially love where this building is located with Ashwood Park behind us, and so close to all the restaurants and shopping in Bellevue. We have a small dog who loves the staff, running in the park and being around so many dogs who live here as well. The maintenance staff keeps all the common areas immaculate and well maintained. All our requests and needs have been met since living here. We pay our rent online, request maintenance, repairs or light bulb replacement online as well, and the response time has been excellent with any problem fixed promptly. We now know all the staff by their first names, and the leasing staff, maintenance staff, and especially all the concierges could not be nicer and more helpful. I love all the events Felipe and Abigail put on for the residents in the clubhouse and outdoor terrace area. They both put so much effort into the events and we love attending them. It is a very comfortable building and there is always good parking for our guests. It is very pricey living here, but it is well worth the extra expense. If they do not raise the rent on us, we will stay another year or two. The only negative thing I would say about Ten20 is that they have the exterior windows washed only once a year, and right now they are extremely dirty due to all the construction going on. Most of the residential and commercial buildings have their windows washed 2 times a year so I would love it if they went back to twice a year. We have fantastic views and when the sun shines on them they begin to look badly after 6 months. read more

I moved into Ten20 2 months ago. Russ was my leasing agent and he was very helpful in showing me units in Ten20 as well as Ashton (their property across the street). I had spent 2 weeks looking at apartment buildings in Seattle and Bellevue and ultimately decided on Ten20 because I really liked the vibe. The building has 20 stories, a great parking garage, a gym and a lounge area. The building interior is contemporary with soothing colors and not overly done up. Their concierge team is super friendly, polite and professional. I immediately get notified whenever a package arrives for me. They also plan some really great events. The 2nd week I was here they hosted a wine and cheese event for Ashton & Ten20 residents. They also hosted a ladies spa night where we got to sample services from a local spa. And when I need things repaired, there's an easy way to enter service requests. The maintenance team is also very polite and responsive. Living here as been a wonderful experience. I absolutely love coming home to Ten20. read more

The apartments are very well designed and have good interiors. The prices seemed reasonable for the apartment size and facilities. The maintenance in the building is very good and prompt. Usually they got issues fixed within 24 hours. The leasing office is very inexperienced. This really shows when they deal with residents. If I tried to call the leasing office, they would always ask the concierge to take a message for them. They wouldn't return my phone call. The only choice I had was to go down to the office to meet them. They would still say that they would get back to me, but that wouldn't happen for weeks. At the end of my lease they raised the rents by nearly $200, which seemed ridiculous in this economy. I asked them to see if they could reduce the price, but they took nearly 2 weeks to get back to me. I finally decided to move out. Figured, I wanted an end to all this. Not that it ends there. They charged me $300 on top of my $300 deposit, for random reasons, like no cleaning and painting. $600 for painting a 1 bed room house seems ridiculous. I have stayed in a bunch of apartments for the last 6 years, and the Ten20 Tower leasing office has been the worst by far. The leasing agents are prompt till you sign the lease. After that, you will be lucky to get them on the phone. Chances are you will have to track them down in the building somewhere. I don't think any working person wants to spend time doing that. read more

We moved here some months ago. We lived in Ashton some years ago and we totally loved the friendly staff, buildings (Ashton and 1020 are kind of twin communities) and amenities. We felt it completely worth the price. The apartments have a great size for being in downtown, with really nice details. The total plus for the building are the hardwood floors: it's almost impossible to find hardwood floors in downtown bellevue. The location can't be better: downtown but in a residential area. You can walk to parks, library, mall and grocery stores. The cons: I found an extremely difference on the "details" that we had on Ashton, and that many times make you feel the community worth the high prices they have (actually in the last couple of month they raised the prices about 30% more): Residents meetings: when we lived in Ashton we had about 1 meeting with the residents per month. Usually UDR put together both communities. That was helpful to meet your neighbors. Concierge: Since we moved here it's been a nightmare. I understand it's not UDR problem, since they work with a third party company, but we changed the concierge team plenty of times in less than a year and many times we don't even have someone at all (so you have to call Ashton and wait until someone can come here to get a package, for example). Elevators issues: we already have a couple of issues with the elevators, not sure what happened, but having only 1 elevator available for so many floors is a very annoying situation. Extra Storage: when we came to visit the building we asked about extra storage and we were told there were space. We never got to rent one, because all of them were already taken. It would be cool to know that first hand and not to feel frustrated later. Wifi in common places: there is no wifi on the terrace. There, you don't have restrooms neither, it's almost made to not to be used. I work from home, so this community had great amenities that made that easier: well, for different reasons, we've been having constant power outages. We get a notification in advance about the day and times for it, still very, very annoying and frustrating (the whole building runs with electricity, so your home is basically useless without energy). That said, the staff it's super friendly. Felipe is still our favorite person in the UDR team, always willing to help with any issue you might have, even if it is not from his area. I guess this time what brings some disappointment to us is that the prices are extremely high right now for the luxury details we are (not) getting. Are things UDR can quickly solve, so I hope they can improve them soon and be the best community around. read more

Not worth the price. Walls and floors are paper thin and management doesn't do anything about the noise. Lack of security, numerous property thefts in the parking garage, and a large number of non tenants come and go throughout the building during the day because the door to the lobby is open and the concierge is rarely at the desk OR the amount of turnover with the concierge staff supports the lack of actually caring who the residents are. read more

My husband and I downsized from a 4 BR home in the suburbs to a 1 BR apartment at Ten20 almost 4 years ago. We are lucky to have the "model" unit with a wrap around balcony on the 5th floor facing Mt.Rainier. The apartments are comfortably appointed with slate and wood flooring, granite, marble and travertine surfaces and stainless appliances. Not your typical fluorescent/industrial white on white decor of most apartments complexes including MANY I have toured in the Bellevue area. This building and apartment home feels like a condo. The closest thing I have found that compares to our building in the Bellevue area is The Bravern. The rent is pretty much in line with the standard for comparable properties in the area. It has been raised every year we have been here. The amenities are lovely, 2 conference rooms (which we have used frequently), a spacious party room with full kitchen, two computers, fax and printer, community gas BBQ and gas Fireplace for entertaining on the 2nd floor terrace, concierge service, full time maintenance team at our beck and call. Regarding the Maintenance Team, once a request is submitted, their response time is usually within 24 hours. If a light bulb goes out, they are there to replace it! They are on site, but not intrusive. Always polite, considerate and tidy. They do yearly inspections on our furnace and A/C as well as our faucets and garbage disposal. The concierge team is FANTASTIC! Led by Felipe Mirada, all of the members of the team, Abigale, Edita, Lindsay, Jane, Courtney and all the others are always helpful and accommodating and are there to facilitate our every need, be it delivering our packages to the door of our apartment during the holidays to lighting the main BBQ on the 2nd floor terrace for our use. Throughout the year, the Ten20 team plays host to resident parties and mixers to encourage community fellowship. It's always fun and a great way to meet our neighbors. I have always felt respected and valued as a resident at Ten20. The building is modern, with tasteful and comfortable furnishings. All is maintained in an impeccable way. All safety and building regulations are maintained to code with regular visits from the Bellevue Fire Dept. to insure alarms and sprinklers and ventilation systems are in working order. Underground parking is secured for residents. Two floors of open parking available for guests. The only rant I have about this property is the recent change in parking policy. Our guests now have to place a parking pass upon arrival if they will be parked in the unsecured lot for longer than 2hours. It's just a hassle, not the end of the world. However, Diamond Parking patrols the garage and is QUICK to issue a $30 ticket if you exceed the 2 hour limit without a pass. That's the biggest rub in my opinion. There has been a considerable amount of vehicle vandalism in the garage, even in the secured area. It's not original to Ten20, it's happening thru out the Bellevue area. But it IS a problem and the staff at Ten20 continues to address the issue. Many of us believe a more sophisticated camera system might help. Of course a physical presence of a security guard would be the optimal remedy. Ten20 has a great location, only a 5 minute walk to Bellevue Square, cinema, restaurants, bars, and our favorite Happy Hour! Right next door to the Bellevue Library. Easy on/off the 405, minutes to the 520 and 90~ 15-20 minutes to Seattle and the airport! What more could you want! For these reasons, we stay. We are very happy here, we love the vibe of this building and the majority of our experiences here have been positive. read more

First off let me say that I have lived in apartments most of my life, don't want to be locked into a home since I move a lot. The Ten20 is by far the nicest place around hands down. The staff is very friendly and well dressed. To save them from the horrible review left by Desiree, I must say that I have spoken with most of the residents who reside in the building, and they are all very happy here, they are friendly and love dogs, and they don't have mold!! Also, the roof at the Ten20 has never had any issues nor has been replaced, that was a lie, I asked management myself. I would like to add that the maintenance staff and housekeeper keep up with the building very well, they have helped me hang pictures and take down my recycle every day. The building is very clean for as many dogs which live here. I have a great view of downtown Bellevue from my home and I love the easy walk to get anywhere, plus there is a huge field right next door so my dog can run around. read more

I lived in Ten20 for two years. Its a pretty place with nice finishes, but not without faults. Our door knob stopped working, and we were locked INSIDE our apartment. The oven in our apartment resets the clock if you press "Bake". Likewise, the building itself has some interesting electrical issues. There seems to be a frequent occurrence of the building be evacuated due to a burning smell in the HVAC ducts. Be prepared to see firetrucks and hear sirens. The change of management is noticeable with Hanover being replaced with UDR. To reserve the facilities like the kitchen or grill area, it costs 1000 dollars, 700 of which is refundable. IMHO 300 is a lot of money just to use the facilities of your own apartment. All the leasing agents are non existent and you have to go to Ashton (across the street) for help. Concierge staffing seems to change every 3 months, so there was no real sense of a familiar face. I'm also saddened that after giving my notice for relocation for work, I will still be forced to pay rent until my lease expires. My unit will sit vacant not because there is no one to rent it, but because UDR doesn't want to take the effort to fill a vacant apartment(no subleasing). My family and I have lived at Ten20 for almost 3 years now and what has really stood out for us is the community they try to create. Geralyn Haddow puts in great effort organizing fun events for the community. Last Thursday, we had a great event that had makeup artist, a barber and other service providers that provided free services. It helps introduce residents to local businesses and service providers, but also helps residents have opportunities to meet other residents over some snacks and wine. The sales staff at 1020, and sister building The Ashton, often troll for renters by listing mythical apartment deals on Craigslist. The photos included to pitch the apartment are views out windows that clearly don't match the unit offered. When you call the rental office to try to nail down exactly which unit is being advertised, you can't get a straight answer. When I pointed out to one of the staff that these photos clearly didn't match with the unit being offered, I got a completely non-interested response, and no suggestion that a correction would be made. read more

Have lived here for almost a year. Completely overpriced. You can get a better apartment elsewhere for much less. Every other apartment seems to have dogs so you constantly find pee in the common spaces and poop in the green spaces. The worst thing is the management that runs the building. They are completely ineffective and can be seen more often socializing with each other rather than working. Parking is horrible. I pay $100 a month for parking but it can't find a parking spot if I ever get home after 7PM because 50% of the cars that are parked are parked illegally and don't pay a damn thing. The management does nothing about this other than sending out emails to remind residents of the parking policy. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. For what they charge in rent, you could do a lot better. read more
