I called Tenacious Touchups on a Fri. night after my landord reneged on repainting my kitchen. It was the Fri. before Thanksgiving and I had an out of town visitor coming for the holidays. I was embarrassed because I had already put a swath of the yellow color I wanted on one of my kitchen cabinets to see how it would look and then the landlord cancelled. I looked through the Yelp reviews and chose Tenacious because of their excellent reviews and I have an alley cat named Tenacious! (It must be a "sign") I called at 5:00 pm and Kariem called me back within 2 minutes. He said he could come over that night and give me an estimate! He and Debbie arrived at 7:00 to survey the damage. It was a very small job (I couldn't afford to paint the whole kitchen, only the bottom cabinets) and I had a small budget. They took pictures of the area I wanted painted and made suggestions for an accent color I wanted. They said they would get back to me that night with a graphic on what the cabinets would look like in a couple of different color choices. At 11:00 that night, they sent the graphics with a fabulous idea, I hadn't thought of and said they could work within my budget and get it done on Tues. before my guest arrived for Thanksgiving. They showed up on time Tues. morning and worked a full day making everything perfect. It's a tough decision to leave strangers in your home and go off to work. I trusted my gut and was glad I did. They are very honest people and they were still putting on the finishing touches when I arrived home from work. The cabinets look beautiful! They understood exactly what I wanted, a happy kitchen. Kariem and Debbie are honest, hard working people. They are lovely people and a delight to chat with. You can trust them in your home and trust that they will deliver exactly what you want. I was trying a do-it-yourself wallpaper removal and got in over my head. The drywall was in bad shape and needed repair and texturing before it could be painted. I called several people that listed "drywall repair" and Kariem was the first to respond. He came over at 8 pm that same day to have a look and give me an estimate. His estimate was very reasonable and he said he could do the job on Sunday. Amazing! So I booked him for the job. He showed up on time on Sunday morning with his partner, Debra, and they worked tirelessly the entire day to fix my mess of a wall. They needed to come back on Monday to finish the work, which took them half a day, and they did not charge me extra. It looked fabulous. I was so impressed with their work that I asked them for an estimate to paint the room. Once again, the estimate was reasonable and they could do the job in a few days. I have had such bad experiences with painters--but they were just awesome. The room looks spectacular and they left room and their staging area in the garage cleaner than it was when they arrived. Had to plaster some walls where we had past construction patch ups then paint. The end result was perfect. The price very reasonable and the disruption was minimal. Kariem and Debbie are awesome! They are super nice, helpful and very reasonable. I needed to have some repairs done to my apartment before I moved out. They gave me a number of different options and approaches. As a tenant, I wanted to keep costs down and they really understood that and worked with me. Kariem and Deb are top-notch and I highly recommend Tenacious Touchups. We recently removed the popcorn ceiling texture in 4 rooms (approximately 1000 square feet) and were looking to have the ceilings smoothed out and painted. After taking measurements and looking at our ceilings, Kariem forwarded the written quote within 24 hours. A few days later, Kariem and Deb started and didn't disappoint. Every square inch of the work area was covered in plastic and paper sheeting was put down on the floors due to the incredible amount of dust created from the sanding. We were already staying in a motel due to a concurrent bathroom remodel project, so I explained that it would be great if we could move back in within 5 days. Tenacious Touchups worked into the wee hours of the night to accommodate our request and finished 1/2 day early! My boss asked me to find someone to paint his condo. He wanted a great job, fast and at a reasonable price. I got three estimates and Kariem and Deb had the best price and seemed like really nice normal people. They were totally professional, added my contact info & texted me within minutes of our phone call to be sure we could reach each other. They were 100% reliable and kept me informed every step of the way and they did a really great GREAT job. They did everything we asked and quite a bit more without being asked (at no extra charge). They installed a large glass light shade in the bathroom (just because they saw it sitting there and knew it needed to be put on). They painted the inside of the closets, just as a little bonus. They took down two mirrors glued to the bathroom wall and removed the mastic from the back at no extra charge, (which probably ended up taking at LEAST an hour, probably more). We assumed the mirrors would probably break coming down, but they managed to save them so they could be rehung in a better spot. AND they put up with several obstacles that were our fault and never complained once. The power got turned off in the middle of the job, a Friday (because we forgot to transfer to my boss' name when the tenant moved out) and couldn't be turned back on until Monday. For three days (they work weekends and holidays if needed to meet a deadline) they worked only with natural light, which was pretty dim in some rooms. They could not have been nicer or more cooperative or more trustworthy!!! And the final result is really great, they do excellent work and are super meticulous and really do CARE about doing it right!! Thanks very much Deb and Kariem. You are now our "go to" painting team. read more
