Took my cat here recently, he had a blocked urethra from crystals in his urine. My bill just for being there and getting blood work was $280. They told me it would be $2,000 to save him, which didn't include a surgery. Who can afford to just drop $2,000 in this economy? They don't offer payment plans of any kind and tell you to sign up for a credit card to pay. They don't care about your pet, they care about how much they can get out of you. I left paying the visit and blood work fee, $280 and thanks to YouTube and helpful vets on their sharing how to clear the blockage without surgery, I was able to clear it myself. I saved my cat's life, not them. Tender paws, more like tenderize your wallet before they help you. Shame on y'all. read more

This Vet is amazing. I had a rough start to my day yesterday bringing my dog to another vet that refused to treat her. We call Tender Paws and they get her in immediately. I waited a few minutes and they already brought us back and started taking care of my girl. They worked with me on the costs and doing everything they could with what they had to work with. Every vet is expensive, but they did their best to help me to afford all the necessary care she needs. They were so kind to me and kept checking on me making sure I didn't have questions. My girl is staying here for a couple days because she's really sick, and they have already called twice with amazing updates. They truly care about their patients and animals that they treat and have even prayed over my girl and I. And we are new patients as well. Thank you Jesus for this wonderful staff! read more

The worst organized vet clinic in the state of Texas . We had a 4 pm appointment today to have our dogs nails clipped. We arrived at 3:55 pm and were told the woman who was to have cut our dogs nails had just left and gone home . Apparently the unorganized staff hadn't communicated to her about our appointment. Wouldn't recommend this vet clinic to anyone . Plus they charge $40 to cut them anyway ! read more

I called to get an intestine blockage surgery scheduled and the lady who answered the phone said she doesn't know when they could do it. I asked if she could find out and she says "i don't know the doctors phone number" so i said you can't get their number? you don't have the phone number to the vets that work at your clinic???? and she says no i don't and hangs up on me. I would rate 0 if I could. we took our asthmatic cat who has always been asthmatic, here for the first time. He was getting a checkup and test before they could medicate him. Shortly later we got a call to come pick him up. They told us they had to send nurses home because he may have rabies (this is an inside cat) because he scratched them. (I was concerned because he is never aggressive) when we got there he was in a supply closet under the shelf with a sign on the door that read (Beware Of Vicious Cat)and then the vet proceeded to tell us that he has no signs of asthma. Love this place! Everyone was so nice. My dogs got into an unexpected fight and I had to rush my baby in. Ashley Martinez was my tech and she was extremely gentle with my dog. I would give 0 stars if I could. This place used to be my favorite for my 4 dogs when DR. BRANNON was there. She was the ONLY good thing about this place. The front desk girls are always on their phone and having side conversations instead of being any sort of professional. They never refill my dog's medications on time, including one that is heartworm positive. They have some annoying dog always behind the desk and last time it was wearing a diaper.... I asked why (to see if the little one was okay) and they said SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO TAKE HIM OUTSIDE TO GO POTTY. That is animal abuse at a place that is supposed to be a vet. Now they won't refill my arthritic dogs medication because their new vet hasn't seen him yet.... how is that my fault if Tender Paws let Dr. Brannon go? Now he has to suffer until I can get all the INCOMPLETE records sorted out from Tender Paws. STAY FAR FAR away from here and the front desk girls and manager. It is not worth it, they over charge you for EVERYTHING. I wouldn't let my worst enemy go to this vet unless Dr. Brannon was there. I hope someone takes that dog away from them so he doesn't have to live like that... for what so the front desk girls can tiktok and talk about who they effed the night before??? GROSS. Yeah chica, I heard it, ignored it because I believed in Dr. Brannon. Please somebody shut this place down, already filing multiple complaints for ethical practices, but nobody's dog or owner should have to deal with them again. read more

We had our first visit and may I say it was wonderful! I decided to take my guy here after seeing all the positive reviews. First off the staff is incredibly friendly in person and over the phone. They ended up helping me out this morning while I juggling my pup and paperwork. The front desk technician (I am so sorry I suck at names blonde hair glasses super nice!) Was fantastic with helping me go through paperwork and getting smudges records updated since we came from out of state. The technician and Dr. Lewis we're fantastic with my guy they took it slow after he got nervous when they got down to give him his shots. My pup is tad difficult case since he has alot of allergies and skin issues but the doc was awesome and carefully gave advice on what medication to give that he wouldn't have a reaction to. I'm not going to lie I was extremely nervous since my pup does have so many issues but I can honestly say after one visit I know he is in great hands over at Tender Paws. Also if you plan on getting your pup fixed I would say this is the place to go. The main concern is making sure your pet is comfortable and it's truly shows your pup even has a personal technician who is there through the whole process. We haven't signed up just waiting a tad longer and hopefully his skin will clear up but I am extremely happy and pleased with the care we received today. read more

They tried but too little and too late. We made it very clear that we were not only first time dog owners but that out newest member of the family was a stray. There was no sense of urgency when they told us our pet was heart worm positive, making me think it was not very serious. They asked if we wanted to go with a treatment or just preventative measures. We said we wanted to treat, but we never got a call back to set up the treatment even though we signed the quote for the procedure. We also had to inquire about getting our dog started on flea medication, you would think that would go hand-in-hand with our first visit. Nope, we had to inquire about it on our own. Since we were on our own (at least it felt like it) we decided to investigate into buying our pets meds online and saw a great deal on 1800PetMeds. But our request was declined because Tender Paws has there own vendor. I asked the receptionist, when she called to tell us the request was denied, "what's the difference in pricing?" she responded with "I'm not sure, but we are denying your request." No price matching, no apology, no other options but to buy from them. We weren't given any instruction on how to give him his medications, now we know to use pill pockets, but again our only experience with pets were fish! How were we to know about that, you won't see that in the training book we purchased before getting our pet. These are small things that probably wouldn't phase someone who has had 4 legged friends for many years but we feel that we were given a poor experience for being first-time pet owners. There seems to be a lack of organization and a serious lack of focus on the part of all the staff. Maybe there are too many cooks in the kitchen and those that suffer are not just the pets but their owners as well. They may have a fancy facility and web site but would recommend them to no one. Sorry Tender Paws, you could have had a permanent client if you would have been just a little more attentive and focused on us. read more

Good Morning!!!! This company was Great from beginning to end... i took my dog there for boarding, now he has the best smelling breath in Conroe!!! The doctor noticed he had tartar buildup on his teeth and recommended some teeth work... i like the fact that they really checked my dog out for any further issues that I wouldn't see. I have taken my Rottweilers and kitties there for over 12 years. The doctors are wonderful caring people. They actually feel like family. When I had to say goodbye forever to my furry family member of 12 years, they cried with me. So, shame on you people for leaving bad reviews for one of the best animal clinics in freaking Conroe. Hi,What happened to the vet clinic I loved? I have been a client of Tender Paws (Conroe, Texas) for many years and I am sad to see what is going on there. I recently stopped in to pick up the Vet prescribed dog food. The parking lot was empty (and not because of Covid) and only one of the familiar faces I knew were at the front desk. The phone was ringing off the hook. I heard an employee tell the person on the phone that no vet was available for weeks. I inquired about who the vets are now? I was told they are rotating vets. What this company did to this clinic is a shame. Customer service and great care is why I went to Tender Paws. I was always greeted with friendly reception and received the best of care from previous Vets/staff. Your company torn apart a family environment all for what? I left the clinic without my dog food as they were out of stock. I will be looking for a new vet and will make sure it isn't affiliated with SVP.  Conroe is small town and word spreads fast; I hope your company will figure out that loyal employees were worth something and to let them go meant to lose business. read more

After thousands of dollars, one tremendous vet in Pa ( out of 6), thousand plus miles, and mostly heartache Tyrion may have a very rare disease. predisposition...miniature schnauzer. Saved Spike's life. Our 2 year old Yorkie was attacked at a dog park on a Saturday when we were out of town. He had emergency care in New Braunfels but on Monday night it was starting to really go down hill. 2 weeks later after daily treatments as well as amputation of his broken off tail and major skin flaps he was starting to mend. Now 6 weeks later he is back to his old self. Working in the surgical field myself I was amazed at the level of care he received from Dr Ree and the great surgical skill of Dr. Morris. They had also worked for years to extend the life of our Great Pyrenees who suffered from epilepsy. They contacted vet schools across the country to see if there were any new treatments when everything else wasn't working near the end. Terri was so caring for Spike and explained how he needed water therapy and medication on Saturday and Sunday. Dr. Ree and Terri are very kind and caring. My family had to make that very hard decision to let our 4 legged family member of 17yrs cross over that rainbow. We were the last patient of the day. Never were we rushed even though they were closing? Dr Ree discussed the health of our little fellow. Dr Ree was not rushing our decision. Due to the health of our little fellow he crossed over the rainbow bridge that night. Dr Ree and Terri were very comforting during the whole procedure. I have taken my dogs to Tender Paws for more than 10 years and won't go any place else. I also recently boarded 2 of my dogs here for 12 days and when I picked them up they were in good spirits and barely missed a beat. The Vets and staff are caring, service oriented and help me take care of my 4 rescue dogs. I used to go to Tender Paws Animal Hospital and see Dr. Ree and I still love the ladies in the front, but now with Dr. Ree retired they only have Dr. Chambers and Dr. Tatem. I have nothing to say about Dr. Tatem, it is Dr. Chambers that I have an issue with. I took my italian greyhound in with a mamory tumor and she recommended removal. They gave me an estimate of around $1700, which is a good price considering her other health issues. However, it was only after I spent $973 there at Tender Paws that she recommended that we go to a specialist!! I told her at the beginning of this that we were on a limited budget, so she proceeds to use up half that budget before recommending a specialist who wants to charge about $3000 for this! Now my dog will die with this tumor on her because of a vet that either doesn't know what she is doing or just doesn't want to do it. I am heartbroken. This is the second time I gave Dr. Chambers a chance, she did the exact same thing with my siberian husky when he had an issue with his eye. She waited two weeks and two follow up visits (and about $600) before recommending a specialist! Like I said, she either doesn't know what she is doing or just doesn't want to do it and is just in it for the money. I WILL NEVER USE TENDER PAWS AGAIN! read more

We have been using Tender Paws for over twelve years and have been very satisfied with the care our dogs receive. One has an immune system disorder and even though we usually go only twice a year, the staff always remembers. Great staff, great vets, great kennel. Love this vet! My family and I have used them for the last 8 years. They took care of my family pet before she died 6 years ago and I now take my two dogs there. I prefer dr. Morris although dr. Ree and the other vet are great too! They are knowledgable and let you in the back to check on your pet if you need too. They let you bring toys and other personal items to leave with your pet at drop off. After leaving them at the vet for the day for a procedure they almost always bathe them before sending them home! So they come home happy and clean! I always recommend them! read more

Dr. Ree is simply extraordinary. She is so kind and gentle with dogs (and their crazy owners). She goes above and beyond for her patients. We highly highly recommend her.
