Already was an established patient as having visited for a wellness exam, but when my bunny got really sick all of a sudden I called and said it was an emergency and I was afraid I was going to lose her, I was told they couldn't see her without an appointment. Inexcusable to me that they wouldn't make time for an emergency that was life-threatening to any animal. I know I would gladly give up my appointment to any experiencing an emergency with their beloved pet. It's hard to find exotic vets to begin with that's why I established the relationship in the first place. I had to take her to an emergency animal hospital much farther away. I ended up losing her 2 days later and will never go back to this place nor would I recommend it to anyone after being treated like this. read more

I've been taking my beloved pets here 11 years and give them 5 stars. My first two dogs have since rainbow bridge due to various issues. Dr Foster is so compassionate, will get on the floor with your dog if need be. Caring and compassionate doctor. When my larger dog Goldy was dying of pancreatic cancer and could not walk, we drove her to the clinic in the back of the car. The vets came out and gave her first a shot to relax her, then the euthanasia shot. This is a busy vet clinic, as all of the vet clinics are. But even so, they will let me bring in a urine or fecal sample for testing, or drop my pet off for pickup later. Also, they don't add a bunch of extra unnecessary services which adds to the cost. Their prices have been fair. I would and have recommended Pets Paw vet clinic and Dr Foster many times. read more

My aunt brought her dog in and got diagnosed with parvo. My cousin and I heard, got in touch with the clinic (big mistake), and brought our puppies in to get vaccinated soon after. Whoever attended my aunt's dog assured her *and us* that due to the contagiousness of parvo, she would not attend any other pets at the clinic. She even kissed the dog with parvo and announced she'd disinfect the room and leave. She did not leave. She proceeded to attend our perfectly healthy dogs, who live in separate homes & came in separate cars & at separate times. They wouldn't have been in contact with one another besides the clinic. But they all died of parvo overnight, and all 3 of our families are devastated. I tried calling to communicate that I believe our dogs may have been contaminated at the clinic. I got cut off and honestly I'm too broken hearted to try again. She really should have gone home...It's been hard for our families & kids that loved their companions. read more

*** IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD*** First off I was looking for a vet that could remove my puppies cherry eye (see pics) I was quoted a price over the phone of $339.00 by a Cheyenne. I asked Cheyenne if that was with everything included she assured me yes. Dropped of our puppy the date of scheduled surgery, when we pick up puppy they said it was going to be $481.52, we almost had a heart attack because we were expecting the original quoted price. They never called us to approve any charges or any meds(see pic of receipt) had no knowledge of these outrageous prices. Paid the price didn't want to argue. 2 days later my puppies eye is worse than we took her in called In and was told "Oh it'll get worse before it looks better." And well assuming this licensed vet would know what he was talking about. Another day went by puppy's eye still looking horrible. Took her in. Called once again was told to bring puppy in at no charge so okay took her to get checked, was told "Oh we need to redo surgery, let's sched for next available." Which was a week later. My husband said " Well how much is that going to cost me?" I was told there would be no charge per Dr. Foster. So, Here it is Monday April 25,2022 puppy's eye is worse super swollen, looks infected. Called them told them puppy's eye was worse and I wanted her redo surgery to correct the eye lid to be done asap. Puppy was dropped off and was told okay so "You're here to recheck?" Ummm nooo you'll already did a re-check she needs her eye corrected!" Left our healthy puppy there. All day we got no call as to what was the plan if they were going to actually do the surgery today nothing. 4 pm rolls around and was told "Roxy is out of surgery it took us a while because we kept loosing power, you can pick her up in about an hour." I said okay @ 5-5:15 pm she said yes. My husband shows up to pick her up and puppy's eye is worse than when he dropped her off! At this point my husband was furious! Dr. Foster told him that the puppy would have to see a specialist to correct our poor puppies eye lid. So my husband told them so you're going to pay to have her eye lid corrected because we shouldn't have to pay for your mistake and your inexperience! Dr. Foster said yes, my husband asked for this in writing and Dr. Foster refused. Puppy also came out of surgery with a super bad cough. Sounds like kennel cough. My husbands asks about it and they said was the puppy sick when you dropped her off?! Umm no! Oh it was probably the tube we had to put down her throat during surgery. Puppy was fine besides the botched eye when we dropped her off. So here is my poor puppy sent home BOTCHED. Was told to apply cold and hot compresses, like that will fix this Vets botched skills. My poor puppies eye. She's botched for life! Excuse my language but DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL F*** UP YOUR BABIES! read more

We went here after a referral from another vet. We should've read the reviews, because it's clear this clinic has no care for small critters. Our hamster had been bitten by our dog, and his eye was out of socket, but overall he was alright, minus the eye and some pain. They gave us pain meds, and an antibiotic for the eye. They failed to let us know that the antibiotic had a high chance of reacting adversely, and in fact made our hamster far worse. He ended up tearing out his own fur and ripping his skin because of how much this antibiotic hurt him. When we called and alerted them of this, they said that this was likely to happen. That would've been nice to know. On top of it all, it is quite an expensive trip, costing us $140 for bad treatment and bad advice. Keep your little pals FAR away from here if they are need of care. read more

PLEASE READ: My two star rating is based on a particularly disrespectful incident with a tech, that must not be ignored and I hope it informs others. Since taking my fur baby here, I have had an overall positive experience. The staff is accommodating and I really like Dr. Foster. He is knowledgable, calm and patient, and listens to you. That's very important to me since you are your pet's advocate. But when I came in for what I thought was the last vet visit, I was assailed by a vet tech who made it very clear that he didn't have time for us. He never looked at my fur baby and thought to ask how we were feeling. When I tried to speak, he cut me off. Every. Single. Time. He interrupted me five times and never made eye contact with me. I finally said, "If I could finish...", but he got argumentative, then passive aggressive and spoke louder and directly to my human companion instead of me, the fur baby's mom. It was disrespectful and insensitive. I finally ended the interaction by stating that I wanted to see the vet because the interaction with him was so frustrating. I never said it at the time, but it was so very stressful, hurtful. He never apologized, slammed the folder shut, then walked out of the room and said the vet would be in shortly. He never looked at me or my fur baby. Keep in mind, I was there to speak to the vet about medication and euthanasia; and THAT is how I, and by default my fur baby, was treated. It was that interaction with this particular vet tech that keeps me from returning. I know that clinical workers see a lot, and some are jaded or desensitized, but bedside manner matters! The point: you rarely have it all at any doctor's office. i.e. You may like the doctor and dislike a staff member, or vice versa. The bottom line: I cannot, in good conscience, leave my fur baby there after that utterly irreverent encounter. read more

Took my puppy here for her shots, I was greeted by very rude high school interns at the front desk and waited forever to get in WITH an appointment, then waited 20 more minutes in the examining room. When the vet finally came in she flipped my puppy over, slammed her on the table and said she "needed to see if she was aggressive", apparently her yelping meant she's submissive. Why you need to see if an 8 week old chihuahua is aggressive is beyond me. Lastly, I was quoted $150 over the phone and left paying double that. The only nice thing I have to say is it was at least clean. read more

Do NOT take a pocket pet here. The vet was afraid to touch my dwarf hamster and did not give me proper instructions for the treatments (for itching scabs on his back). She gave me a solution to apply to the scabs, however it was for dogs and stated to not let the animal lick it, which is impossible to control in a hamster. My pup stepped on a sticky mousetrap (don't ask) and Dr. Foster got all the VERY sticky goo off his paws, which we never could have done. They managed to get it off my hands, too, fortunately. Dr. Foster's practice is more than dog-and-cat His patients include hedgehogs, birds, non-poisonous snakes, rabbits and other "exotics" In 25 years owning dogs (although they own us really, right?) I've never had one checked out the way mine was on our first visit. Dr. Foster goes into a Zen-like state that includes your pet but not you. He's a wonder to observe. We found him through a local rescue. He's good people. I recommend him without reservation. read more

I am a personal assistant and caregiver for a longtime customer of Pets Paw who used your grooming and sometimes veterinary services. On 11/17, her Shih Tzu was brought in for a grooming. I made the appointment in advanced and stated this appointment was for grooming only. When the dog was returned home, there was a bill for not only grooming, but also for 2 vaccinations that were not were not approved by the customer. This dog recently had these 2 vaccinations: Rabies 1yr and Bordatella just a few months prior by the approved/current Veterinarian. When I called Pets Paw and spoke with Jennifer expressing our concerns, she "Barked" at me defensively stating that said dog was overdue for vaccinations according to their records, and that these vaccinations need to be current prior to grooming. So, instead of calling the customer to request approval, they took it upon themselves to administer the vaccinations and charge the customer. Fortunately, the dog did not have any reactions, but unfortunately, this establishment lost a long time customer who is extremely unhappy. read more

I do not know much about there animal hospital part due to using a different hospital (banfield) because we are under contract. However, I am very pleased when I drop my pet off (shi-tzu, poodle mix) to get groomed. It's a neat teddy bear cut, and they do a awesome job. In past I took my pet to pet smart and they would make his haircut choppy and also nick him with the clippers. So if your looking for a good grooming, go to pets paw. read more

My hamster is losing his eye because of this place. We brought Charles in because his eyeball was enlarged and popping out of the socket (at this point it could've been saved). The vet just looked at him and said he thinks it's an injury and prescribed a oral pain medicine and antibiotic ointment. NOPE. It wasn't getting better after 4 days so we ended up taking him to Gulf Coast Vet by Lakewood church in Houston. We paid almost the same price and the vet was AMAZING. She has called me twice asking how Charles is, and she made me schedule a follow up appointment. She really took her time to assess him and give him the most appropriate medication. An ointment antibiotic... for an abscess behind the now almost dead eye? No. If he would've taken his time, he would've caught it and now my hamster is only going to have one eye. read more

Too expensive. The other day I went by to get my dog her vaccines and they rung me up for $250 and there's still more things my dog needs. I have my other dog going to banfield and I only pay 30/mo and it covers office visit/exam, his neuter, discounts at petsmart, oh and discount on pet training! I'm so upset at myself for taking her here. Oh and don't get me started on the wait time! You go in there 15 min before your appointment and vet won't see you till an hour later. Ugh! read more

Worst veterinarian to take your animal of any kind to. Rude staff up front that don't care about you and definitely talk mean about you and your animal after you leave. But most importantly Dr. Foster (whom iv always trusted) gave my ferret a deadly dose of medication (11.7 ml) which lead to his death of uncontrollable seizures an hour later. Capstar is NOT FOR FERRETS! It says cats and dogs on the box I even called the manufacturer themselves and the federal vet line each stated that he was in the wrong and gave him way to much in the first place. I called up there to get an explanation and the very horrible ladies up front did nothing but argue back and get loud with me. They gave my baby a unregulated medication that is even proved to cause nerve damage in cats and dogs you can imagine the pain and suffering my 1 pound ferret went through NEVER WILL I STEP FOOT IN THERE AGAIN! Not to mention my app was at 9am and they didn't even touch my ferret untill 1230. I waited in the waiting room most of the time while my ferret has been in the back in some kind of cage and dr foster comes out and tells me he's already done the capstar and 50 dollar Glucose test without my permission.. why wouldn't they tell me they were doing the test on him? Why would they give him a unregulated medication? I'm heartbroken and angry y'all stole by ferrets life. If I could give less than one star I would. This place is awful. read more

I walked in to pick up my pet and the staff was so disgustingly rude.., I asked to see my dog bc I heard him crying and the front desk lady says you will see him once you pay then I asked to speak to the doctor and another lady says you can't speak to him unless you have an appointment and I said but he's right there I need to ask him a question and she said you need to pay to speak to him.. I asked the technician if she knew what medicine was good for my dog and she says no I'm just a technician I'm not a doctor and I said was that's why I wanted to speak to the doctor and she says pay up and you can speak to him I was so upset I paid I got my dog and right before I'm going to leave he says you can get out now.. Everyone I told the story to save I told you so this place has the worst reputation in Conroe so if I can help just one person from taking your pet to an over priced disgraceful place then it was worth to write this review!! read more
