Tender Sandwich with hot sauce, mustard, onion, tomato
    Ian E.

This place has been on my list to try for a long time. I found a coupon, so that was a good excuse to grab lunch there. The speed of service was great. I went after the lunch rush so there weren't a ton of people in there, but I got my food so fast. I was in and out of there in under 30 minutes. I ordered the tenderloin with everything except horseradish. It was very good, and I'd definitely come back to try more items on the menu. It all sounded really good.

Hidden on the west side of Kansas City is a known favorite amongst locals who enjoy cuisine done differently. Here you can get a tenderloin sandwich with all the Fixin's, or you can get a pig snout sandwich which I'm told that Kansas City police trainees get when they sign up. The foods on point and I would say that they have pretty good service as well. I was attended to kindly and was glad to receive that level of service. They keep everything nice and neat and clean which is a nice feature.

Visited here on a Saturday for KC Restaurant Week lunch which happened to be my first time getting a chance to try the food here! We always walk through all of the shops here in River Market but had not gotten a chance to try a tenderloin or anything else here. The two younger gentleman working here were super friendly and did a great job for us. The menu seems to be pretty simple but has a few options you don't typically see - a burger and tenderloin put on the same bun; and pig snoot. We settled for the original tenderloin and fries for both of our meals. It was cooked pretty fast and when it arrived in its paper bag, we could not wait to dive in. The fries are seriously some of the best I have ever had. They are such a perfect balance of tender and crispy! The tenderloin was smaller than you would expect but considering the toppings I picked, I though the sandwich was full of flavor. It is not the best tenderloin I've had, nor the biggest, but I would happily get this again given the chance. Overall, I had high expectations for this place and for the most part, these expectations were met. I can't wait to come back and get more fries and try more of their menu!

Yesterday was my first visit to Tenderloin Grill since Minsky's Pizza purchased them last year; and nothing has changed. After all why should it change? With 91 years in business serving the midwest staple of tenderloins and the infamous pig snout sandwich, why rock the boat. TG is an old school diner with bar stools and tables, hand drawn menu boards and the grill and fryer clearly visible to the customers. If you are eating a pig snout then food handling transparency is a must! I ordered the Tenderger - a tenderloin and hamburger mash-up for $9.75 and house fries for $4.00. TG's tenderloin is not KC's best nor biggest, but is solid. The secret recipe hot sauce and dollop of horseradish adds to the allure and the reason that they have been so successful for almost a century. With the added burger patty and normal toppings gives the Tendergur a unique and satisfying sandwich option for the faithful and adventurous. Negatives: House fries - the sliced potatoes are just fat potato chips that just stick together and don't cook evenly. Order the crinkle cut or tots. Pig Snout - it's one thing to see it listed on the menu, but actually seeing it in person or having a family sit at the table next to your while loudly describing it while taking turns taking bites on a dare is very nauseating. You have been warned - enter at your own risk or consider calling ahead and doing carry out if you are the least bit squeamish.

Decent little burger spot. They have some interesting items on the menu, but nothing I would really go after. The service was pretty quick, made to order. The table was sticky so that was a slight issue. Overall, not a bad place to grab a quick bite.

We've been going to the Tenderloin Grill for years. I'm just getting around to writing a review on this hidden gem. There is street parking and small lot behind building. These tenderloins are not your typical bread crumb crusted tenderloin. They're different and delicious. I always get mine with everything which includes hot sauce, horseradish, onions, tomato. The hand cut fries are very good too. If you're in the area, treat yourself to a tenderloin. Food = 5/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance = 2/5 (this isn't a fancy restaurant) Value = 3/5

Fries could've been cooked longer. Burgers weren't great. Only thing good were the shots & margaritas

This spot is a KC original that we just had to try-known for its pig snoot! We had the tender sandwich which comes with mustard, a special hot sauce, horseradish, onion, and tomato; and fries. The tender sandwich I thought was very tasty! All deep fried, a little chewy- but I know that isn't their fault and sometimes varies! The hot sauce was very tasty! The fries wee hand cut and very thin! They weren't crisp enough for my liking but still good! Overall, this place was good! I had it, and probably won't eat there again out of choice. If someone wanted to, I would go though!

Overall, good experience me and my family were only ones in there we got cheeseburgers and the pig nose sandwich it wasn't bad suggest you try it. Saw this on bizarre eats and thought I give it a try. It's a small Mexican restaurant next to boulevard brewery the service was good, but i am a one and done. They have a ice cream section as well which my kiddos loved. Go and try the pig snout!

This was kind of a last minute lunch choice for Restaurant Week! My girlfriend is a tenderloin connoisseur so we thought we would give it a shot. We went around 1 on a Monday and there were a few people in line ahead of us, but the rush came immediately after we got there. Shoutout to the two workers holding down the fort - it was super overwhelming in there and they were working hard. We ended up waiting for our food probably 20-25 minutes. The tenderloin came out less than hot, but it was still really crispy and not chewy. I enjoyed all the toppings! The secret hot sauce was bomb and my gf loved that there was horseradish as well. However, if you're looking for the big classic thin breaded pork with a tiny bun, I recommended heading to the Lunchbox in the West Bottoms instead. The hand cut fries were solid, I would try the crinkle or onion rings next time. The restaurant itself is pretty small, standard greasy joint. They are famous for the pig snoot sandwich - I will never eat this and I hope I never have to see one in person! Don't look it up if you're squeamish!

This is a dive that most people want to try because Andrew Zimmerman has visited. I would say that is the only reason we stopped in here too. Almost for the novelty of the pig snoot. My son is VERY adventurous when it come to food (especially meat), so he got the pig snoot and my husband and I shared the tenderloin sandwich. The tenderloin sandwich was cook well and was you basic tenderloin sandwich of the Midwest. It was crispy and had a decent flavor. The secret hot sauce, mustard, and horseradish combo on the sandwich was tasty. The pig snoot....yuck. I tasted the dark pulled pork-like meat stuffed in the snoot. It was not good. It tasted like old, dark pulled pork that had seen better days. I did not try the actual snoot as it was just to disgusting looking. My son's thoughts...it is a bit of a textural thing, but overall just feels like I'm eating fat, but not for him either. Nice staff!

And I'm so excited because what goes better with a beer than a burger? My answer is pretty much nothing and thank goodness Burn Theory has got you covered. The special of the evening was a kimchi smash burger. One thing about me is I love anything fermented so, kimchi is one of my favorite things. Surprisingly I had never had it as a burger condiment before so, I was ready to try something fresh and new. It didn't disappoint! It was delicious. The smash burger patty was juicy and had lacey edges just like a proper smasher should, sometimes certain places forget the importance of those crispy edges. Not here! The kimchi wasn't an afterthought at all, it was more than a condiment slapped on top of the burger instead it was piled high and added just the right amount of zippy slightly spicy flavor. The cheese oozed out of the burger and melded with the lacey edges to create an impeccable bite, I'm still thinking of it a week later. I can't wait to try more burger renditions on the menu because this one definitely got high marks. There are other things on the menu as well if a burger isn't your speed but don't expect anything too fancy this is bussin' bar food that pairs exceptionally with a brew.
