This has been on my list for a long time and so glad I finally had a chance to try out Tenfold! I know other local coffee shops like Second Cup also carry some of their whole roasted beans. They had four different choices for pour over: they had two Ethiopian roasts (one washed, unwashed), and then a Jairo iced fermentation that had more bold sharp notes, and another fermentation that was more subtle. I went for the Jairo iced fermentation and loved it. There were those distinct bold notes of blueberry with hints of blackberry. Yet it was a powerful, full bodied coffee that honestly blew me out of the water. Really good and definitely enjoyed every bit of it (and worth the extra $$) if you are going to stay and do some work/study. There is easy access to WiFi, airy and open seating with a mid century vibe. Lots of windows and big potted plants gave a nice aesthetic to the place. For those rare nice days they also have an outdoor deck patio for seating, although not many tables (small coffee tables). read more

Definitely one of my favorite coffee spots in Houston. This is great place for coffee enthusiasts and newbies (like me) alike! We were introduced to this shop by a friend who buys his beans from Jacob, the owner. Right from the get go, you can tell that this place cares for and ate very passionate about coffee. What I especially like is the size of the place. It's definitely a good space for groups, individuals just studying, or intimate conversations. We also took a coffee tasting class with the wonderful baristas and learned a lot about the coffee making process and their connections/sourcing from South America! read more

Overall one of the prettiest coffee shops in the area with a fantastic layout. I like to spend 4+ hours at coffee shops while studying. This place has a lot of versatility in the seating options which is perfect for anyone looking for a reliable place to study or get some work done. There's also seating outside for cooler days or a quick coffee break. I personally like standing tables with plenty of table space to lay out books and Tenfold delivers. The staff is super friendly and my Vanilla Latte was fantastic (not too sweet) in a reusable glass. The Tenfold owners are also unique in their dedication to providing coffee beans from small businesses and supporting their producers. They post often to their Instagram about different service work projects. I also noticed a plaque near the bar I sat at. The coffee shop was the recipient of the Community Improvement Award this year from the Houston Heights Association, which fits with their overall brand. Ambience: First thing you notice are the plants they have in the main entrance. I'm a millennial so you know plants are a thing. They have coffee bags surrounded by the plants. The ordering bar has cute pink, blue, grey and white pastel backdrops. There are plenty of spaces to sit inside and outside. You can definitely bring your laptop and work here! It's got a nice open-space industrial vibe. Coffee: They have the basic coffee options sold here. You know (drop, pour over, cold brew, latte, espresso, etc.) You can get it with whole milk. They have other options like oat milk, macadamia milk, 1%, etc. but for an up charge. Other Drinks: Aside from coffee, you can get alcohol and tea. They have some baked good made from local bakeries and restaurants that are a must try. The eggplant Parmesan and Ramen baked goodies were so good! I def recommend coming here! read more

Inhospitable. That is the word for people like the management of this coffee shop. Tenfold hosted underground creamery, a very hyped local ice cream co, after hours. Some sort of dual promotion. We get there, it's raining, and we get in line inside for the ice cream. When the line blocked the front of the shop, instead of asking us to clear a path, the coffee shop kicked everyone out into the rain and heat. Despite it being after hours! Ugh. Yes, underground should have managed this better too. But we heard the Tenfold people complaining about it and next thing we knew out we were kicked. With many great coffee shops in a city that values kindness and hospitality above all, we will not be coming back to this one. I don't typically review places without trying their product, but the best coffee in the city wouldn't make up for treating patrons poorly and being inconsiderate. Love the ambiance because it has plenty of natural light and lots of plants. A bit too busy though. So you might have to just share seats when it's all occupied. We got the ice matcha, it's okay. Nothing really special. I like that they don't put sugar and let you control how much sweetener you can put. read more

Iced vanilla latte - 8/10 - $5.50 This place had a cute vibe for studying/doing work. I liked the vanilla latte but I would prefer more vanilla personally. I did like how creamy it was, not watered down, and not bitter. There was a line to the door when i went lol so it's definitely a popular spot. My new favorite coffee shop in Houston! We happened to stop in for AC and coffee after checking out one of the Sunday farmers' markets they regularly hold in their parking lot. And I'm so glad we did. Upon walking in, you can tell that these people really know their coffee. They've got a bean roasting machine and if you're lucky, you might see them brewing a batch of cold brew into one of the white 5-gallon buckets. I ordered a cold brew and this one has to be one of the best I've had. Yes they make these en masse but they still taste super fresh with just the right amount of coffee content, not watered down at all. This was definitely refreshing on a hot Houston summer day. I've also ordered one of their pour overs on another visit and this was AMAZING. Order this! I could really taste the different notes in this one, slightly fruity but still coffee-like. I believe they've got about 4 different bean choices for the pour over, so just ask and they are happy to explain the different flavor profiles to each. They do warn you that the pour overs take about 10-15 minutes to make and at peak times the wait for these can take up to 30-45 minutes. So don't order this if you're in a rush! As such, these made-to-order pour overs are weighed out and brewed right in front of your eyes using the Kalita Wave dripper...a good sign for the amount of precision that goes into making each cup. They also have a little gift shop on the side with some of their beans, wines, and other coffee trinkets if you're interested. I'll be hitting up this spot on the reg! read more

Really enjoyed the vibes of this coffeehouse. When you walk through the front door you are greeted with that wonderful coffee aroma, in part from the bags of fresh, unground beans stored to the right of the front door! There is also a wall of beautiful, well-kept plants that provides a slightly tropical, more authentic vibe to the space. Parking is awesome. Huge lot out front with good visibility so you aren't worried about your vehicle while you are inside. And free of course! Not something you can find everywhere in Houston. The interior is high-ceiling and very laid back. There is a central table of marketed goods featuring environmentally-friendly products like bamboo toothbrushes. Lots of tables and nooks for studying or hanging out. Dog friendly inside - there was a sweet pup hanging out with its humans inside while I was there. There is also a dedicated space they call the Tenfold Laboratory, where I imagine they get crafty with various roasts or possibly host demos. It transitions out to a lovely wooden deck with chairs and tables (shaded by umbrellas) if you'd prefer to enjoy your coffee or beer (yes they also serve beer!) outside. The staff was very friendly, and the coffee was great! I came for an affogato featuring a collab with a local Houston ice creamery, Underground Creamery. It was delicious and incredibly rich. We also grabbed a local brew from Holler, their Don't Be Tardy for the Party, a refreshing raspberry sour. I would love to come back here with a good book or a project, or just to sit and catch up with a friend. Great spot. read more

Walked here with a neighbor and our small dogs on a Sunday morning. Hadn't been before. Entered from the patio entrance, carrying our small dogs, opposed to the front door. Immediately received a death stare from a woman at the counter. We exited out the front door to see the sign (only posted on the front entrance) that said dogs should remain on the patio, so we found seats outside and made our orders online for pickup while the other had to wait outside with the dogs. My neighbors order went through online but couldn't be found in store after a long wait for it. When I received my coffee, there was at least an inch of space from the top. For the price, I'd expect it to be filled to the brim since I didn't ask for space for creamer, milk, etc. The outdoor space is nice for those with pups, but fills up very quickly. If I came alone with my dog, I'm not sure how I'd order and pick up since I can't bring her inside long enough to grab the my order. I'll give it another go, but kind of a rocky first impression. read more

Been checking out a bunch of coffee shops around Houston and really like Tenfold. Open space concept, they grind their own coffee with this really big machine. Free smells, they also offer baked goods in addition to coffee and tea. Lots of huge plants and floral arrangements. Feel like I'm in nature. Spread out atmosphere with plenty of tables for larger groups and small little one person table booths. They serve beer and wine too plus they have a Happy Hour with various HH specials. Complimentary WiFi available. Staff is very kind and chipper. Cool spot to check out if you're in the Heights. read more

The coffee was good, no complaints about that, but one of the employees made a very weird comment that made us feel uncomfortable. Not sure if this was because of racism or agism but it was inappropriate. It's a cool coffee shop but there are so many of them that you can find one without employees that will not make you uncomfortable with their comments. read more

Today was my first visit, and I can see why it's always so packed! There is a free, small parking lot that services several businesses. We were able to find parking without issue (granted, we came on a Thursday afternoon). The interior of the cafe is clean, spacious, and well-lit. The modern aesthetic with touches of greenery makes for a comfortable and productive workspace. With a good pair of headphones, I think this would be a great place to study. It's a little too loud to recommend you do any phone or Zoom calls, though. While there was a decent amount of seating, many of the seats do not have access to plugs. The restrooms are spotless and equipped with baby changing stations, paper towels, and tampons. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk, honey, and vanilla syrup. The quality of the drink is passable but not worth the $6.98 I paid. The key lime blueberry danish was DELIGHTFUL - and I'm not even a pastry person! Both sides of the pastry managed to satisfy my sweet tooth without being too sweet. While I thoroughly enjoyed it, my friend and I wouldn't have ordered it if we knew it was $10. Overall, the cafe is cute, comfortable, and overpriced. If you need a place to study or get work done, I think this would be a great choice. If you're looking solely for a good coffee, I think you can find a better cup elsewhere. read more

Tenfold Coffee is so aesthetically pleasing, both inside and out. They also have a patio area that was pretty cool, I just wish there was more shade outside. Coffee was pretty good too, I ordered a vanilla latte while the wife ordered a matcha latte. Even her iced latte cup looked pretty good. My vanilla latte was slightly sweet and not overly sweet. Her matcha latte also had a balanced matcha flavor without being too strong. Both of us enjoyed our coffee a lot, the beans are definitely fresh and they make great coffee drinks. I was a little shocked at the price. More shocked at the price for the baked goods and pastries. I didn't get a chance to try a croissant because I could not justify the price. There were plenty of outlets avaliable and it seemed like a great place to study or get work done. Parking was adequate in the lot and there is also street parking but it is kinda tight. This is a very cool space - first off, a huge parking lot in the Heights?! Amazing. Second, the building itself is large, open-concept and airy. Love all of the greenery and industrial look. Staff is also great, very friendly and engaging. For my coffee I ordered a vanilla latte; loved the latte art, wish the latte had a bit more flavor, but it was very smooth. I also ordered a chocolate croissant that was delicious. These people are serious about their coffee so I will certainly come back to try other items on the menu. The interior of this place is very aesthetically pleasing. They seem to do things in an alluring scientific fashion. We were all very excited to try them out. The gentleman who took our order was patient and informative- which is often a huge gamble in coffee shops. We were ultimately mostly disappointed with our orders, both the iced chai and chai latte tasted severely diluted. The flat white and pour over was good. Great coffee , good atmosphere, subpar ordering experience. After multiple visits to tenfold I feel like I can finally make a honest review. The coffee is 8.5/10 and I say this very confidently, I would go here everyday if I could because the coffee is that good. They do not have very many flavor/syrup options but the ones they do get the job done. The atmosphere is good there is room for improvement ( lack of lighting and concrete walls ) it almost gives dungeon with a window. By all means it's someone's favorite just not mine. Seating arrangements could also be better but not bad. I would love to sit on the patio and drink my coffee when it's nice out though. Everything mentioned wouldn't turn me away but what keeps me from being a regular here is the horrible line. Don't come here if you're late to work or barely have enough time to stop. The line takes a minimum 15 minutes. Each visit I had the line was to the door which is not something that detours me. What does is the amount of time in between customers. They seem to have three people behind bar ( cashier , barista and runner) so why does it take them 5 minutes in between each customer after ordering. When you get to order it's a simple quick interaction but after that I feel like the cashier does 3 other side gigs before taking the next persons order. I will say the wait for the actual coffee would be around half the time it took to order but dang it sucks. read more

I ordered a triple shot flat white and requested oat milk with a splash of half and half, I paid and tipped. Then after was informed that was something they "do not practice". Then was told to pick between the two milks I requested. I understand the practice of specialty coffee and traditional coffee. Any other specialty or traditional coffee shop would do this upon request, or at least would do it my first time ever coming. I had no idea? So instead I got whole milk. When I got it, the milk was scalding, and foamy, like a cappuccino. You'll practice single milk technique but not milk temperature or texture? Whatever lol. (Was not comped for my alternative milk, was not told sorry) Place was cool though, really nice outdoor seating. But the exposed storage and BOH inside is just a tad ugly. read more

Walked over here on a beautiful Sunday morning - it has both indoor and outdoor seating. It has wifi and saw people working here inside. What we ordered and thought: -Pistachio Baklava: get iiiiiit, flaky to perfection and sweet but not overly sweet -Vanilla Honey Oatmilk Iced Latte: now my go to at coffee shops is a lavender latte but they didn't have lavender syrup so the person at the register recommended this, and I was not disappointed. You could taste the espresso without the vanilla or honey overpowering. -Matcha Latte: my friend and I thought this was meep but we're not huge matcha drinkers Will I be back? Yes! All the pastries are from Koffeteria so none of them are going to be "normal" except for the croissant my friend got. Reliable wifi and plenty of seating inside and outside. I came to Tenfold to try their Chai Latte and get a bit of work done on my Laptop. It looks like everyone else came there with the exact same idea. Almost every single seat in the house was taken by an individual person and a laptop. 4-tops were taken by 4 individual parties on their laptops (literally every seat was filled!) I found 1 remaining seat squeezed in between two folks at the communal table and the lady next to me was full on leading a zoom call. I can't imagine coming here if you were not on a laptop because I feel like the ambiance would be terrible. I ordered a Chai ($5.50) and she notified me that the Chai is comes unsweetened, so what sweetener would I like? She gave me the options, Stevia, Honey, etc. and so I added Vanilla and I see on my receipt that that cost an extra $0.75. I don't like how they purposefully make their Chai unsweet and force you into paying extra for sweeteners. This is not consistent with any other coffee shops that I go to. $6.25 pre-tax for a Chai is just absurd. Overall I thought the place was cute and the Chai tasted good (almost overly sweet after all the added sweetener), but these two things rubbed me the wrong way so I will not be returning. read more

I had a Brazilian blend drip coffee that might be the best cup of coffee I've had in recent memory. Who knows why. Maybe my palette was perfectly primed by something I ate, maybe I was perfectly dehydrated, maybe it was the beautiful cup or the lush and modern space. I ventured out to the Heights to check out Tenfold Coffee. The coffee shop has a nice vibe to it and welcoming ambiance to visitors. Most of the patrons were having their coffee with their laptops open working or studying away. I ordered a flat white and it was a nice mix of being both smooth and bold at the same time. This was our second time to stop by for a coffee! The first time we went in and stayed. The vibes and decor are very cute and I loved the plants inside. The service was great and quick. The second time we stopped by, today Wednesday around 10:30am, there was no where to park in the parking lot. I found a spot on the street. We ordered to go and there wasn't a line surprisingly. The croissants were so good!! I believe they're from Love Croissant. My mocha was good, but I needed to add some sugar when I got home (I have a sweet tooth).
