Ordered a dine in lunch about 12:30 on a Monday. Vegetable ramen soup - good noodles, tasty vegetable broth and vegetables cooked soft but not mushy. Temperature was hot but not scalding hot, you had to hold the spoon for 5 seconds to cool it off a bit at first. Low on spice and salt, it benefited from a dash of soy sauce. I thought the presentation was very authentic, although I have not been to Japan. The manager, an actual Japanese native, was seated me, took my order and served me. A server came on duty while i was eating. The have a menu outside on a stand, a nice touch. Definitely will put Tengu Ramen in the Delano rotation and will try other dishes.

This review is just for their online ordering and pick up experience. I've been wanting to try this place out since they opened. Ordering online was a breeze. Their website was easy to go through, gotta appreciate the photo aesthetics and minimal food information, and the easy check out. I put in my order to pick up ASAP (with a disclaimer to show that it usually takes up to 25 mins after placing order). I feel that's ample time. I arrived about 10 mins before I was scheduled to pick up. The vibes and ambiance of the place was so unique. Almost doesn't feel like you're in Delano (LOL) but makes me want to come back for sure to dine in because the vibes were there! Hostess was able to get my order on the counter and she was so friendly! Definitely got me wanting to come back for sure. I ordered the chicken ramen and dumplings. Broth was flavorful and they gave a great amount of protein for the dish. Most ramen places give just HALF a soft boiled egg. Here they have a whole egg in half (major +!!!!!). The to go ramen soup came in a container where the toppings + noodles were separated from the broth soup, just how it's supposed to be! Noodles were aldenté and everything stayed at perfect temp (not cold at all). Overall, "to go" experience was great and the food was delicious. I can't wait to come back and dine in with my family! Perhaps maybe try their tonkatsu or a spicy ramen. Thank you Tengu Ramen for making your way to my small town in DELANO!!!

Beef Udon (to go - broth is under the clear top bowl)

This is what this town needed, a ramen restaurant! So far, I've dined in twice & ordered to go twice. Experience was great! The staff is very friendly, it's well decorated on the inside, and restrooms are clean. What I've ordered so far: Shoyu ramen - This was good, but I think I'm more of an udon girly lol. Broth was very flavorful! Chicken ramen - Nothing too crazy with this one. Just your basic chicken ramen, I would rather choose a different protein. Beef udon - 10/10 This is my favorite! So flavorful and I love adding an egg to itl. Curry beef udon - This tastes exactly what you imagine curry to taste like. It was very flavorful, but I honestly would choose the regular beef udon for the broth. Takoyaki - 8/10 Chopped octopus ball-shaped cakes! I really enjoyed this.

Great little ramen place. The beer was cold and came with edamame. The service was good and the food came out relatively fast. The staff was attentive the ramen was really good. The sushi was fresh and really good. Definitely recommend everyone try this place at least once.

A new gem of a restaurant in Delano. Even though the sign said "soft opening" they seemed to really have their stuff together. Service was fast and friendly and the Spicy Miso Ramen was fantastic. Rich broth with medium spice and the noodles were cooked to perfection. Neither too firm or too soft. I will definitely be eating here again.

Fried oyster, pan fried dumplings and salad. Yummy.

Lovely place. Nice selection of Sake and other items outside of Ramen. The dumplings, pan fried and the fried oysters were excellent. This is probably my favorite go to RAMEN place.

Great service considering this may be the only Ramen spot here in Delano. Ambiance was clean, food was great.

Our rolls took a little long, when we were the only 4 in the restaurant. The miso soup was rather thick. When asking for a wasabi/ginger set up, the waitress said, "what's that?" I had to repeat myself a few times for her to understand what I meant. We ordered a baked salmon, but there was a pin bone in it and it wasn't cut thoroughly, we had to physically pry it open with our chopsticks. I'll need to try it again, just not anytime soon.

When we walked in there were several people dinning, staff greeted us right away and we were seated. I forgot to get a photo of the menu, but we ordered the shrimp tempura sushi roll, gyoza, garlic edamame, chicken ramen and bento box. Everything was seasoned was hot. When ordering the chicken ramen make sure you specify if you want chicken breast or not, I didn't and it was dark meat chicken which isn't my preference. The chicken teriyaki in the bento box needed more sauce and the waitress brought some extra on the side. The dining room was quiet but I could see it being lively on a weekend night. It's a great place to grab a bite with your friends or have a date night.

This is a no frills type place but it's clean and organized. On this particular day I ordered the following: 1. Birria Pizza (roughly $21 or so) it includes 12oz of consume. Two oversized flour tortilla stuffed with tender, beef birria and cheese) then grilled like a quesadilla. Topped with (which I got on the side) diced white onions, chopped cilantro, pickled red onions and drizzled with a vibrant "green sauce" which was creamy (an emulsified salsa verde taquera) and a fiery red sauce which was significantly spicer than the green and limes on the side. And the consume to dip your pizza birria in. The consume is served piping hot and is so flavorful. This is the broth in which the birria was cooked in. This is my favorite thing to order at Tacos Humildes. 2. Mexican Rice (roughly $4.50). Rice was pretty standard, nothing memorable. But I definitely felt the price-point was off. I received about 9 oz of rice. A bit overpriced for an inexpensive food item. Rice is a few cents on the dollar and really inexpensive to prepare, so almost $5.00 is ridiculous. The restaurant has plenty of indoor seating and AC works great. The cashier, Diana was also prepared the food. She was super friendly and really engaging. I do recommend this local small business for their Pizza Birria. Additionally, Diana informed me that on the weekends, Taco Humildes sets up their taco truck in McFarland.

These are fried octopus balls with a delicate crispy shell and a creamy interior with perfectly cooked octopus. They are garnished with kewpie mayonnaise and eel sauce with delicate shaved fish dancing on top. This is the only place in town for takoyaki and it is exactly like takoyaki in Japan. This time we opted for the salmon rolls which have pillow soft steamed buns, perfectly cooked moist salmon, eel sauce, and sweet slivered carrot. They are light and delicious with an order of two making a wonderful appetizer for the both of us. My husband ordered the Bulgoji bowl with savory and tender beef atop sticky rice. It is beautifully seasoned and not spicy which I love because I can actually enjoy it. In general bulgoji is too spicy for me so this is a wonderful discovery. My choice of chicken Ramen was also a win as the broth is rich and savory and the noodles have a great firm bite. The bowl is dressed with rich and tender chicken thigh, a fish cake, broccoli, spring onion, slivered carrot, and a marinated soft boiled egg. Food and service are phenomenal...Hon Ramen is THE place to go in Bakersfield. The sushi here is also top notch and prepared by the owner. Once a year he returns to Japan to visit family so for that period sushi is not available. Everything we have ever tried here has been a feast for the eyes and the tastebuds.
